Iteration often trumps innovation. Valuing accomplishment over the overall experience the game actually offers is ignoring the actual quality the game has to offer. Ex. Ocarina of Time might have been an incredible accomplishment and famous for its innovation, but Majora’s Mask is the superior game.

At the end of the day, for all that it brought to the video games table, Doom I and II are games with awkward and clunky controls and repetitive gameplay. If you want a vastly superior 90’s shooter for the MSDOS, play Descent I or II.

As I take my daily stroll, I see something... Odd, lighting up the cloudy sky. "The Mud Beacon." I mutter to myself, as I pick up the pace of my walking. The moment I get home I dash inside, and tug on a book on the ornate bookshelf in my master bedroom. The bookshelf lowers into the floor, opening up into a room loaded with neon lights and mysterious gadgets. Tonight, I will achieve what I set out to do all those years ago.
