Not to learn how to necessarily do statistics, but to learn its failings.
The poster above me might mean foolproof. Definitely not, and that's precisely why it needs to be taught.

Or maybe I'm just bitter about the fact that even though most people understand that "correlation != causation" is a thing, they don't actually apply enough rigor to their mental processes.
