However, there is something to be said about having a place where you can shut off your brain and kind of just...chill. I forgot about YCM for a long while. Coming back feels nice, though. Seems to be a at least a solid distraction if nothing else.

My hobbies and passions are mostly devoted to intellectualism now. I spend most of my time studying, making connections, reading, talking to special friends with the rare glimmer of abstract aptitude. And, from my experience, you can easily integrate even obscure words into your basic lexicon, where they find unique uses that elevate your writing. Being able to seamlessly integrate those words is a marker of linguistic talent, and I think it's very obvious when someone is using a certain word to posture versus out of love and understanding of the word as a sigil with a unique semantic and morphological composition, from multiple distinct runes to a single light. It's a matter of prosody, like how grammar is only law until you master it, where it then becomes, eo ipso, as much a part of the poetic game as the diction and imagery and euphony and cacophony, etc. It's alchemy. Crude metals to gold, for the pursuit of immortality by artistry, a genius mind the legendary alkahest. All like Prometheus, both Greek and modern.

But yeah I understand what you're saying. Even I play Animal Crossing or Pokemon, sometimes. In fact, Gamefreak has been using alchemical inspiration recently which I like, but YCM will never be able to satisfy these things. Not anymore, if it ever once could.
