Eshai
Sudden CycloneTrap - NormalWhen a monster(s) is Summoned: Banish all monsters on the field until your next Standby Phase. So this wasn't supposed to be as good as Torrential Tribute, but it at least serves its purpose. While not getting rid of all of the cards permanently, using it on larger fields can deter your opponent from playing more stuff, so while your opponent can still play more things, they could end up get punished for doing so. You could also take advantage of this by Summoning Tokens to your opponent's side of the field, or in a theoretical archetype that temporarily gives your opponent monsters (might do that). Yeah, I don't think this card is amazing, but I kinda figured the card would be interesting to have to play around with, especially in a world where Torrential Tribute doesn't exist. The bigger irony is probably that I thought playing this in Chain Beat might be interesting but I'm pretty sure that'll get redundant pretty fast. Still thinking of Trap Board Clears. Will possibly make something that "when your opponent declares an attack: Destroy all cards on the field" since Malevolent Catastrophe isn't used AT ALL, and Mirror Force has been somewhat replaced by its variants. Any ideas?
Sleepy
You can still make the loss permanent with Different Dimension Burial, but that'd require 3+ monsters wiped off the field to be worth it so your opponent would no doubt try to play around it if it was recurrent enough. I kinda miss the times when players had to play conservative like this though, so it sounds amusing. It would most likely be used in decks that want to banish their stuff though, like Shiranui. Not so much in the broader spectrum. This is pretty charming. Macro decks would have loved it because Soul Absorption lol.
Tinkerer
There's also the ability to pull your Extra Deck stuff out of the EMZ and, depending on the kind of deck this would be used against, hitting the Normal Summon could even nearly end a turn. It's balanced out via being only a temporary fix, but its utility in being both a turn-ender and a means of pushing you forward in certain cases makes it super useful. It also happens to be a strong Card of Demise target and a possible Paleozoic tech (I think? I'm not sure on the interaction between this and Paleos...) Burial that combos with it. I'm trying to make at least a couple cards that can free up your Extra Monster Zone so archetypes that don't revolve around Special Summoning don't have to be defined by the limitation.
