Yu Gi Oh! Dueling in the Relics [OOC Thread/Started/Accepting] [R-13]

Recommended Posts

I'm looking forward to dueling you. I think it might be hilarious considering the fact that I'm using an archetype based on food and you're using an archetype based on hungry zombies. Should be fun!

EDIT: I'm a Soldier now aren't I?

[spoiler=Robin Swift]

FzCAIqv.jpg

"If you like to duel, then we're two birds of a feather!"

Name: Robin Swift

Age: 19

Gender: M

Race: Human

Appearance: Robin is always seen as tall and lanky, with a height of 6'5" with an absurd wingspan of 7'0". His height isn't balanced by his weight though, as he is about 167 lbs, just barely underweight for most people his size. His jet black hair is also particularly odd, as it shares the same looks and texture as the plumage of a bird. In terms of everyday clothes, Robin usually wears a light t-shirt and bright red sleeveless jacket with simple sweatpants. Nothing too complicated. His custom Duel Disk shares a striking resemblance to Jack Atlas's Wheel of Fortune Duel Disk, but the sleeve for the arm has been moved so that the deck slot rests right where Robin's hand starts on his right arm, making the disk look something like a bird's wing. Robin takes much pride in his Duel Disk and tries to treat it with the utmost amount of care.

Personality: Robin is seen as a very selfless and caring person, but Robin does not act this way intentionally. He is a strict follower of the Golden Rule, and inherits the moral code that was taught to him by his parents. Besides his heart, people also tend to notice his optimism as well. In his words, Robin likes to "fly through life", enjoying every moment to the fullest by never giving up in anything he does. However, something that Robin doesn't like to share is that his outward personality towards others is a mask to hide his insecurities about himself. He treats the people around him far better than himself, and he never feels like he is doing anything right. Because of this, he is always in the pursuit of perfection. He finds a great deal of escape from these psychological problems through his favorite pastimes: bird watching and dueling. A newcomer to the dueling world, Robin had a friend of his that worked on the game of Duel Monsters print an archetype for him  based on the ideas that he had for a deck. Because of the fact that Robin created his own cards, he shares a deep bond with the cards he plays.

Biography: Robin was born in a bustling suburb in the northeastern United States on December 26, 2208. He was raised by decently well-off parents that wanted better for their son. They almost voluntarily brainwashed Robin into the person that he is today through their teachings and tough love. In order to avoid his anxiety from returning, Robin wanted to make sure he became the person his parents wanted him to be all his life, and so he pursued perfection from the day he started school. Although it was a tough journey, Robin managed to at least have an 85 average overall in his classes in High School. It could've been higher, but Robin soon discovered the obsolete game of Duel Monsters with his friends his freshman year, causing him to be easily distracted. Although it was an ancient game for the standards of today, one of Robin's friends had a father that had an old KaibaCorp card printing machine at home, so his house became a huge hangout area for new duelists. Just like that, Robin and his friends made their own archetypes and tried to make them as balanced as possible. Out of his friends, Robin was the 2nd best duelist. Although this greatly bothered Robin, he was happy with his deck.

Now that he is out of high school and entering the real world, he wants to place goals for himself in order to have the best life for himself, just like his parents would want. In an attempt to explore the world and become an Ornithologist, a long-time goal of his, Robin is spending his time in college studying abroad. This was a hard choice for him since he was so connected to the United States. To get over his homesickness, he decided to bring his Duel Disk and deck to every country he visited. His first stop is Egypt, where he wants to get out of his comfort zone and be in the blazing heat. He also wanted to see the origin of his new favorite game and potentially grow his skills as a duelist. As he is beginning to explore the strange country of Egypt, something in his gut tells him that he will achieve both of these goals. Perhaps it's the crazily hot weather, or the research paper that he has due on the mythological and real-life birds of Egypt, or the fact that people seem to recognize that he is a duelist with his Duel Disk. Whatever the case, Robin is excited to meet new people and duel to his heart's content!

Character’s Deck: Robin uses the Songbird archetype, a Winged Beast-themed archetype that he created. It is a token beatdown deck that uses unorthodox tactics and Synchro monsters to overwhelm and stun the opponent. If you want to learn more about this archetype, click the link above. Robin's ace monster is Songbird Starcatcher, a beautiful phoenix that soars through the stars. It is his most prized card and his proudest creation.

Miscellaneous Information:

His favorite season is Winter and his favorite holiday is the entire Christmas season.

Character App:

(For Kizumi's Bro)

[spoiler=Aura Hiroshima]

Character Image: file:///storage/emulated/0/Download/008d2eb5b38616a260d1dc310f26052451e90f98_hq.gif

"I can feel the _____ emanating from you"

[spoiler=Personal Info]

Name: Aura Hiroshima

Age: 8

Gender: Male

Race: Half Human Half Robot

Character appearance: Aura is a short boy, measuring only 4' 5". He is only 8 years old, but he has a knack for dueling. This might be because he got tired of losing to his brother, Kizumi. He has green hair like his brother and has a right arm and left leg that are made of metal prosthetics. This is because the fire that killed their parents took Auras arm and leg too, because he decided to try to look for them in the house. But, despite being half metal, he has an uncanny sense of emotions. His duel disc resembles his brother's but more GX era. He likes to wear a casual T-shirt and some dark jeans.

Personality: Aura is usually seen as rude and troublesome. But this isn't the case with those he cares about. If you get to know him he still is that sweet-hearted child he once was, but with a very hard shell. When anyone challenges him to a Duel, he usually makes a remark about how they will tremble in fear at the might of his dragons, then beats them and their deck to a pulp. But, his one downside is that he hasn't updated his deck for VRains. With the amount of ED summoning his deck features, that will be very annoying to him.

Bio: Aura has taken the most damage from the fire that killed his parents. Mentally and Physically. He lost his right arm and left leg in the fire, and his mindset has changed due to it as well. Before the fire, he was the sweetest little boy you would ever meet. Now he has two prosthetics and he is rather rude towards pepole in general. This attitude formed because he feels like no one else has gone through the amount of pain he has. He is also a delinquent, and only listens to his brother, though, even that is rare. He has gone through many babysitters while his brother is at work, but none of them have worked.

Now that Kizumi has left for Egypt, Aura feels alone again. This only means that things will get worse. He hasn't been listening to Paul, and is planning on running away to Egypt himself. Paul doesn't know this yet, but he will. Also, I mentioned that Aura can feel peoples emotions. He can. But the downside to this is that he doesn't use this for good. Instead, he abuses this power to get what he wants by sensing what the opponent feels. This usually helps him in duels. Except when he fights his brother. He never could understand what feelings his brother emanated.

(I do know that I used Edward Elric for my character pic, but that was only because I couldn't find a pic of a child with prosthetics anywhere. Just picture Edward with the appearance and personality I gave him.)

[spoiler=Deck info]

Aura uses a custom archetype called Dragon Knights. They focus on Special Summons galore. Most of the bosses are just beatsticks with some weird irrelevant effects, but they are still devastating.

[spoiler=Yuna Kitamura]

Image: https://i.imgur.com/WebqZq0.jpg
Character Quote: "Step Right Up! Who wants to Duel? Everyone's got a chance to be the Winner!"
Name: Yuna Kitamura
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Race: Cybernetic Human
Occupation: Hostess for a carnival

Personality: She is a lot like Yuya Sakaki from Arc-V. She doesn't like to think negatively, and will always try make every situation fun for everone! She never dislikes a Duel, and never makes her opponent feel like they stand no chance. This does not mean she will be a pushover either. Instead, she makes sure she puts forth a great effort, but also ensures that the opponent has as much fun as she is. Her monsters help with this, since most of them are cute, fun, carnival themed creatures. But don't mess with her friends. She will stick up for her friends even when they don't stick up for themselves.

Bio: She was not born in Domino City. In fact, she was born in Duelist Kingdom. Although, she has had temporary homes in lots of places. The reason for this is because her father owns a traveling carnival. She does not mind moving around so much, in fact, it's all she's ever known. She constantly helps out with the carnival, and when she turned 16 her father allowed her to become the hostess of the entire event. This was not a surprise to her though, considering she helped with any task she could ever since the age of 5.

At age 10, she discovered this thing called "Duel Monsters." When she asked her father about it, he said it would never be allowed in the carnival he ran. This only intrigued her more. So, she did something she regrets to this day. She told her father she was visiting a friend when she was really going to buy herself a Duel Disk. But, the problem was that she was using a shady outlet to get it for cheaper. They were called "Dueling Expo" or Dueling Experiments. They had tricked this poor 10 year old girl into believing she was getting a Duel Disk so they could test a new cyber-visual product. She did get a Duel Disk at the end, so she believed the illusion even more thinking this happens to everyone who gets a Duel Disk. It wasn't until she got home and her father questioned her about it that she realized she had been duped.

Needless to say, she was punished for disrespecting and lying to her father, but, when her punishment was over, she made it her goal to make Dueling part of the carnival. The original reason was because there would definitely be a loser and that would go against the "Everyone's a winner" vibe her father established. So, to counter this, she found a way to make both player's feel like they won. She would compliment other player's combos, she would offer to help them become a better duelist, and also, most important, make sure both players are having fun. She then waited until now to tell her father her ideas for adding dueling to the carnival. After all, she is the hostess now, and she found a solution to his original problem with it. He agreed, and now people enjoy their carnival even more.

Appearance: She wears bright, festive, fun, colors to complement her lifestyle. She has blonde hair, with hazel eyes, and a skin complexion that glows. The clothes she wears are usually a bunch of different colors added together, but her favorite color combo is gold, orange and white. Her headress is not actually a removable accessory. It is a permanent fixture that allows her to see things a lot more clearly. It also will help her be able to see the solid vision images created by the duel disks without needing to equip hers. This means she can see other people's duels without activating her duel disk. These cyber attachments also have the neat perk of allowing her to cybernetically change her clothes.

Deck: Yuna's deck focuses on Special Summoning. Link, Pendulum, Xyz, Synchro, Fusion, even just revival or retrieval effects, she loves it. This is also the easiest way to ensure her opponent has as much fun as her. Without driving them into insanity because they can't do anything, or because she has way better cards, her cards have relatively low attack, except her bosses. Like all her monsters, her bosses have ways of Special Summoning archetypal monsters, but they have different sub-effects.

Custom Cards:

[spoiler=The "Carnimal" Archetype]
Monsters:

Carnimal Ferris Ferret
Level 4 - EARTH - Beast/Tuner/Effect - ATK/1100 DEF/1200
Once per turn, if the only monsters you control are "Carnimal" monsters, you can Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower "Carnimal" monster from your hand or GY. You cannot Special Summon monsters from your Extra Deck the turn you activate this effect, except for "Carnimal" monsters.

The first guy I created that really made me want to continue making this, he has a revival or charge effect for "Carnimal" monsters and locks the Extra Deck to the same monsters at the same time. Pretty good combo play potential.

Carnimal Fluffy Foal
Level 3 - EARTH - Beast/Effect - ATK/1400 DEF/1000
If this card is Special Summoned by the effect of a "Carnimal" card, you can target 1 "Carnimal" monster in your hand or GY, Special Summon that target. You can only use this effect of "Carnimal Fluffy Foal" once per turn.

Revival or Charging effect if you use an archetypal monster to summon him. Underwhelming, yes, but can still make decent plays.

Carnimal Candy Cardinal
Level 2 - WIND - Winged-Beast/Pendulum/Tuner/Effect - ATK/1000 DEF/1000
Scale: 1/1
Pendulum Effect: Once per turn, if you control no monsters (Quick Effect): You can Special Summon this card from your Pendulum Zone.
Monster Effect: Once per turn, during the End Phase, if this card was destroyed by battle or by card effect and sent to your Extra Deck face-up, you can Special Summon this card.

Someone destroys your other Pendulum? No worries, you can Special Summon this card, as long as you also have no monsters. It kind of is a back up plan. Monster ability provides revival, and this card being a Tuner as well, would be essential.

Carnimal Roller Raptor
Level 4 - DARK - Dinosaur/Pendulum/Effect - ATK/1500 DEF/200
Scale: 5/5
Pendulum Effect: Once per turn, during your Main Phase, you can target 1 "Carnimal" monster in your GY whose original Level is in between your Pendulum Scales (exclusive), you cannot conduct your Pendulum Summon this turn, also Special Summon that monster.
Monster Effect: When a "Carnimal" monster(s) is Special Summoned while this card is face-up on the field, you can Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower "Carnimal" monster from your Deck, but it cannot attack. You can only use this effect of "Carnimal Roller Raptor" once per turn.

You can Pendulum Summon a monster from the GY essentially. Monster effect allows for an extra monster from your Deck, allowing for higher Synchro plays.

Carnimal Prize Python
Level 3 - WATER - Reptile/Tuner/Effect - ATK/1300 DEF/1200
You can discard this card, or tribute this card on your side of the field, Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower "Carnimal" monster from your Deck. Once per turn, during your Main Phase, if this card is in your GY, you can shuffle this card into your Deck, then Special Summon 1 level 4 or lower "Carnimal" monster from your Deck. You can only use 1 effect of "Carnimal Prize Python" per turn, and only once that turn.

A discard effect to Special Summon another archetypal monster, and a banish from GY effect with the same result. Pretty good usage.

Carnimal Winner Wyvern
Level 2 - FIRE - Wyrm/Effect - ATK/800 DEF/1000
You can Special Summon this card from your hand or GY, if the only monsters you control are "Carnimal" monsters. You can only use this effect once per turn.

A level 2 who Special Summons himself at will to accompany his buddies. GY or hand, doesn't stop him.

Spells:

Carnimal Carnival
Field Spell
All "Carnimal" monsters you control gain 300 ATK and DEF. This effect cannot be negated. Once per turn, if you Special Summon a "Carnimal" monster, you can target 1 card your opponent controls, destroy it.

The field spell for them. While giving an unnegatable boost, it also allows for destruction when you special summon an archetypal monster. Shouldn't be too hard to pull off.

Carnimal Crate
Quick-Play Spell
Once per turn, if the only monsters you control are "Carnimal" monsters (min. 1), you can draw 2 cards. Once, when this card is in your GY (except the turn it was sent there), you can banish this card from your GY (Quick Effect): "Carnimal" monsters you control cannot be destroyed by card effects or by battle until the End Phase.

This was a last minute addition. I realized, I would hardly even have a hand in this archetype, so, I made a card to fix that. Double drawing capacity, yay.

Traps:

Carnimal Control
Continuous Trap
Once per turn, while you control at least 1 "Carnimal" monster, you can change all monsters your opponent controls to face-down Defense Position, then all "Carnimal" monsters you control gain 400 ATK until the End Phase.

Partner this bad boy up with Game Gator and you have a nice combo. While turning your opponent's monsters to Defense (which can be used on both player's turns), it also boosts yours by a little bit setting up for a new play.

Extra Deck Monsters:

Carnimal Game Gator
Level 8 - WATER - Aqua/Synchro/Effect - ATK/2700 DEF/2000
1 Tuner + 1+ Non-Tuner monsters
If this card is Synchro Summoned using only "Carnimal" monsters, you can send the Materials used for the Synchro Summon of this card back to the Deck. While this card is on the field, if a "Carnimal" monster battles a face-down monster, inflict piercing battle damage to your opponent.

A boss like card, sends material back to the Deck, and piercing battle damage for all monsters in the archetype. Good if you partner it up with the trap card.

Carnimal Mallet Monkey
Level 6 - FIRE - Warrior/Synchro/Effect - ATK/2100 DEF/2000
1 Tuner + 1+ Non-Tuner monsters
Once per turn, if this card is Synchro Summoned, you can Special Summon 1 "Carnimal" monster from your Deck. While this card is on the field, "Carnimal" monsters you control cannot be targeted by your opponent's card effects.

A decent stats Synchro with Special Summoning capabilities, and effect protection while he is face-up. Pretty good usage here.

Carnimal Party Piranha
Level 4 - DARK - Fish/Synchro/Tuner/Effect - ATK/1800 DEF/800
1 Tuner + 1+ Non-Tuner monsters
This card can attack your opponent directly. A Synchro monster Summoned using this card as a Material gains this effect:
If this card was Synchro Summoned, it gains 300 ATK and DEF.

The first Synchro Tuner in the archetype, it can attack directly. Although you mainly wat it for it's next effect. Giving 300 ATK to the next Synchro monster is a good effect.

Carnimal Tent Tarantula
Level 12 - LIGHT - Insect/Synchro/Effect - ATK/2900 DEF/3400
1 "Carnimal" Tuner + 1+ Non-Tuner monsters
Once per turn, you can draw 1 card. This effect cannot be negated. If a face-up "Carnimal" monster you control would be destroyed by battle, you can discard 1 card, it is not destroyed and you take no battle damage from that battle. You can only use this effect of "Carnimal Tent Tarantula" once per turn.

This is the biggest boss possible in this archetype. A plus 1 in your hand per turn, protection from battle every turn at the cost of a card in your hand, and awesome ATK and DEF. Combine that with one of the Synchro Tuner's bonus effects, and this could be devastating.

Carnimal Dunk Donkey
Level 7 - WATER - Beast/Synchro/Effect - ATK/2500 DEF/1900
When this card is Synchro Summoned, you can target 1 card your opponent controls, destroy it. Once per turn, you can Tribute 1 "Carnimal" monster from anywhere on the field, destroy 1 card your opponent controls.

Destroy a card on summon, and tribute to destroy 1. Also, good ATK.

Carnimal Toy Tiger
Level 5 - EARTH - Beast/Synchro/Tuner/Effect - ATK/2000 DEF/1500
When this card is Synchro Summoned, you can destroy 1 card on your opponent's side of the field. A Synchro monster Summoned using this card as a Material gains this effect:
Once per turn, when this card destroys a monster by battle, it can attack again.

Good Tuner Synchro that can destroy something on summon, and allows for the next to attack twice.

This is a Character I made for another RP, but did not get accepted. I was hoping she could show up in this one as an NPC. Obviously we have to introduce her Carnival as well, otherwise this whole character doesn't make sense
