The Nyx Avatar
A funtimes Deck that does a little bit of every Summon method that existed by Arc-V: Fusion, Ritual, Synchro, Xyz, and Pendulum all exist here, and it's utterly amazing fun. And, even if you only tech in one or two, it'll be good for you: Level-change shenanigans, Fusion Spell searching, good generic support for Pendulums and Rituals, it's all good here. It's not designed to consistently do all five by any means, but, like D/D/D, the sheer amount of options you have and effects available let you decide which Summon method(s) and strategies you want to focus on, and build a Deck that makes the things you want it to. However, the most beautiful part of all is that the archetype's ace is a standard Effect Monster with the standard protagonist statline, both offensive and defensive effects, and evolutions in all five methods that parallel fan-favorite monsters from each protagonist (ie, the Synchro evolution takes after one of Yusei's best cards, the Fusion takes after one of Judai's, etc). Also, if your topdeck skills are legendary, it is entirely possible to Summon all five of these beasts in the same turn. Now, again, it's not meta, but you are all but guaranteed to have fun regardless, and even use a few jokes from the show (you have an archetypal Pot of Greed effect, and a way to ensure that your opponent "still takes the damage"). An archetype made in collaboration with members of AGM (Archetype Generator Meta). Many of these reminiscent of older cards, whether it be by name, playstyle, or effect. Examples include the "Stardust" monsters, the Ritual Monsters, and "Moyufutsusa - Phoenix Wingman" to name a few. This monster can attack your opponent directly, but if you use this effect, this monster's ATK is halved. During either player's turn, you can destroy this face-up card, and if you do, you can add 2 "Moyufutsusa" monsters from your Graveyard to your hand. Eshai
Is it weird that I'm trying to find how to make the deck more cohesive and edit each card individually despite being an archetype created by the collaboration of several people? Because I am and it's annoying. SO MANY CARDS *>3 hours later* AAAAAAAGGGGGHHHHHHH I did itI'm editing this post instead of another because Idk whether or not I'll get banned for posting in a "necro'd" thread (which I think means dead or something but Idk). Anyway this is going to be LONG. I didn't use all of the cards, really only what was necessary and integral in the design. My idea was to make it similar to how Crystrons and PSY-Frames work, with them being able to Synchro Summon during the opponent's turn and especially because PSY-Frame's conditional Summonings are very similar to how Future Champion works. So what did I do? Made the archetype work so that you can Synchro, Fusion, Xyz, OR Ritual, during your OPPONENT'S turn. I'm keeping the theme of legacy and iconic cards for the extra deck monsters, but I switched up their sub-typings. Neos is a Xyz monster, Stardust is a Ritual, Gandora (Did you really think I was going to use Dark Magician?) is a Synchro, and Utopia is a fusion. There is only 1 of each card sub-type (sorry Elemental Dancers) but that was because it's near midnight and I wanted to keep to the theme of the legacy stuff and to the idea that less is more. Idk if every card is having an explanation, but I want you to understand what I did and why. Moyufutsusa Future Champion 2500/2000 LIGHT/7/Warrior/Effect: If your opponent attacks while they control more monsters than you do, you can Special Summon this card from your hand and 1 level 6 or lower “Moyufutsusa” monster from your hand or deck, but banish it during the end phase. “Moyufutsusa” monsters destroyed by battle or card effects the turn this card was Special Summoned by this effect. What I thought to be the main card. Maybe that was wrong, but the fact that some cards spoke of this card by name had me thinking otherwise. I changed its ability to work on all of your Moyufutsusa (what does that name mean anyway) rather than just itself for some synergy with the summoning of other monsters during the opponents turn. I also made the requirement level 6 or lower so if I wanted to I could make another lv 7 Champion to help the consistency, and so that I didn't have to say except a card with the same name. Moyufutsusa Back Fighter (Smiles replacement) 1500/2100 EARTH/5/Machine/Pendulum (0/0)/Effect:Pendulum Effect: If a “Moyufutsusa” monster attacks or is attacked, your opponent cannot activate card effects until the end of the Damage Step. You cannot Pendulum Summon monsters, except “Moyufutsusa” monsters.Monster Effect: If this monster is Special Summoned by the effect of "Moyufutsusa” monster’s effect: You can return that monster to your hand, and if you do, you can move this card to an unoccupied Pendulum Zone. I just increased the pendulum scale of the other monster. Seriously guys. Just because it's cool doesn't mean it's necessary. Also that "if this monster is Special Summoned by the effect of a "Moyufutsusa" is going to be pretty relevant. Moyufutsusa Hardened Fighter 2100/1500 EARTH/5/Machine/Pendulum (8/8)/Effect:Pendulum Effect: Once per turn, during either player’s turn, you can target 1 “Moyufutsusa” monster you control, it gains 1000 atk/def.Monster Effect: If this card is Special Summoned by a “Moyufutsusa” card’s effect: you can add 1 level 7 or higher “Moyufutsusa” monster from your deck to your hand. I switched up the abilities to be more supportive of the archetype, but considering I worked on this card first it's pretty underwhelming as a searcher. It does search the Ritual monster, but that doesn't really matter with the Spell I made to summon it. Honestly, I could change them, but they weren't ever really the point, as I spent most of my time focusing on the Fusion, Ritual, Synchro, and Xyz parts of the archetype.Moyufutsusa Kuribond (The Kuriboh has to be a Kuriboh)300/200 DARK/1/Fairy/Effect:<This card is treated as a “Kuriboh” monster>If this card is Special Summoned by a “Moyufutsusa” card’s effect: you cannot take battle damage for the rest of this turn. During your opponent’s Main Phase or Battle Phase, You can banish appropriate Fusion Materials for the Fusion Summon of a "Moyufutsusa" monster, including this card, from your hand and/or side of the field: Fusion Summon that monster. (Kuribo is how it's spelled in Japanese) Anyway, it's a sort of addition to Future Champion by negating damage, but you can also Fusion Summon during their turn with Contact Fusion similar to how Neos works. Moyufutsusa Synchron 500/1400 DARK/1/Spellcaster/Tuner/Effect: If this card is Special Summoned by the effect of a “Moyufutsusa” monster, you can add 1 of your banished “Moyufutsusa” monsters to your hand. During your opponent’s Main Phase or Battle Phase, you can immediately Synchro Summon using this card and other “Moyufutsusa” monster(s) you control as Synchro materials, but if you do banish this card when it leaves the field. So, if you used Hardened Fighter and got your first Future Champion banished, you can use this the second time around to get it back, so I guess Hardened Fighter has something going on for it. This is your Synchro Summoner. I'll give you a hint at what the Synchro does: Mirror Force. Moyufutsusa Gogadoba (adaptation of Hyper Blocker and ALL of Yuma's monsters)1800/1500 EARTH/4/Warrior/Effect: If this card is Special Summoned by the effect of a “Moyufutsusa” card, you can target 1 monster you control with a level: this card's Level becomes the current Level of that monster. During the opponent’s Main Phase or Battle Phase, you can immediately Xyz Summon using this card and other “Moyufutsusa” monster(s) you control as Xyz materials, but banish this card when it’s used as a Xyz material. This was a work around because I didn't want to make another level 7. This also means you can do some crazy things if you have another level 4 monster on the field, but I wouldn't count on it. The xyz does something along the lines of continuing plays and being weird. I'll explain later. Moyufutsusa Senju 10000 (futuristic Senju of the one/ten thousand hands)1400/1300 DARK/4/Machine/Effect: If this card is Special Summoned by the effect of a “Moyufutsusa” card, you can Tribute this face-up card; Take 1 “Moyufutsusa World Calling” (you’ll see) from your Deck, and either activate it or add it to your hand. You can banish this card is your graveyard: add 1 “Moyufutsusa World Calling” from your graveyard to your hand. Metaverse on the yugioh wiki saved me for the wording. I could've done something similar for Kuribond and fusion summoning, but considering Neos was always Contact Fusion I didn't mind. You were also wanting to focus on adapting iconic cards, and I thought Senju/Manju was good enough since every deck with rituals used it for a half century, and some still do. Moyufutsusa Silent TuneEARTH - Level 4 - Spellcaster/Tuner/Effect - 1000/100If you control 2 "Moyufutsusa" cards in your Pendulum Zones: You can Special Summon this card from your hand or GY, and if you do, take 1000 damage. This card can be treated as Level 1 monster for the Synchro Summon of a “Myufutsusa” Synchro monster. “Moyufutsusa” monsters in your Pendulum zones in the Fusion, Synchro, and XYZ Summon of a “Moyufutsusa” monster. You can only use each effect of "Moyufutsusa - Silent Tune" once per turn. Interesting situation. I wanted something more versatile for the archetype to make some interesting plays, and Silent Tune did most of what I wanted, I made it into a level 4 that becomes a level 1 for a Synchro Summon, which means you can do a lot with it. Xyz with Gogadoba, synchro for a level 9 Crystron Quariongandrax with Synchron and Future Champion (because yeah, you can, and it's better than Trish), and it makes the Pendulums into materials. It essentially says "Here's for everything else you wanted in 1 card. Go nuts." Moyufutsusa Desutaur (Destructor/Gandora Adaption) (Desu as in end)2600/2100 DARK/8 Wyrm/Synchro/Effect:1 Tuner + 1 “Moyufutsusa” non-Tuner card (card because Silent Tune’s effect)If this card is Synchro Summoned, you can pay 1000 LP: Destroy all monsters face-up Attack Position your opponent controls. Then, this card gains 200 Atk for each card destroyed by this effect. During the End Phase, you can Tribute this card: add 1 “Moyufutsusa - Future Champion” from your deck or GY to your hand. "Mirror Force" remember? It's supposed to be an adaption of Gandora and compensation for the fact you can't Black Rose on their turn as fun as that would be. Note the 1 non-Tuner. I really didn't want this used in other decks, but I don't remember why.Moyufutsusa Stardust AvatarLevel 7 - LIGHT - Wyrm/Ritual/Effect - 2600/2100Must first be Ritual Summoned, or Special Summoned by its own effect. You can Ritual Summon this card with "Moyufutsusa World Calling.” When this card is Ritual Summoned, negate the effects of all monsters your opponent controls until the end phase. At the start of either player’s battle phase: You can Tribute this card; add 1 “Moyufutsusa - Future Champion” from your GY to your hand. During the End Phase, if this effect was activated (and was not negated): You can Special Summon this card. You can only use each effect of "Moyufutsusa - Stardust Avatar" once per turn. You know how easy it is to adapt Stardust Dragon into a ritual is? I added you can tribute it effect for a Future Champion rather than a negate since I thought it was a bit more creative and that it already skill drain's your opponent's monsters anyway. It also means if your opponent hasn't learned by now to not attack your empty board. Maybe use Struggling Battle? Moyufutsusa Victory Star Hope 2600/2100 LIGHT/7/Warrior/Fusion/Effect:2 "Moyufutsusa" cards (cards because Silent Tune’s effect)Must first be Fusion Summoned. “Moyufutsusa” monsters you control are unaffected by your card effects the turn you Fusion Summon this card. When your opponent attacks a “Moyufutsusa” monster you control, you can Special Summon 1 Moyufutsusa token (Machine-Type/LIGHT/Level 1/ATK 0/DEF 0) that cannot be used to Summon a Extra Deck monster to your opponent’s side of the field, and then add 1 “Moyufutsusa” monster from your Deck or GY to your hand. So, I can increase their board size so I can keep stealing their turn and playing cards. It also mean's since the board state was changed they have to redeclare attack, which means you probably searched Future Champion, which means your opponent is going to have a bad time. Did I mention your opponent can't do anything about it because your monsters are unaffected? Moyufutsusa Neos Quaternion 2600/2100 LIGHT/7/Warrior/Xyz/Effect:2 level 7 "Moyufutsusa" cards (cards because Silent Tune’s effect)When this card is Xyz Summoned, you can Special Summon 1 “Moyufutsusa” monster from your hand or GY. During either player’s turn, you can use monsters you control and/or Xyz materials attached to this card as Fusion Summon 1 “Moyufutsusa” monster from your Extra Deck. You can only use each effect of “Moyufutsusa - Prismatic Neos” once per turn. I must get crazier and more creative as the night continues. Using Xyz materials as Fusion materials? Yes. Now it's possible. Also still during your opponent's turn. Moyufutsusa Capital Field SpellWhile your opponent controls more monsters than you do, all monsters the opponent controls must attack. If your opponent inflicts damage to you during the Battle Phase, you can add 1 "Moyufutsusa - Future Champion" from your Deck, GY, or Banished Zone to your hand. When you Ritual, Fusion, Synchro, or Xyz Summon during your opponent's turn, draw 1 card. You can only activate each effect of "Moyufutsusa Capital" once per turn. (This is the last card I made of this archetype.) How could you forget a field Spell? Did your opponent learn not to attack? Fine. Now they HAVE TO ATTACK. Don't have a Future Champion in hand? When they inflict Battle Damage, you now have one. If they control more than 1 monster, then there you go. Let the plays begin. Also, the draw's not too shabby. Moyufutsusa World Calling Quick-play SpellYou can send monster from your hand or field to the GY to Fusion or Ritual Summon a “Moyufutsusa” Fusion or Ritual monster from your hand, deck, or Extra Deck. During either player’s turn, you can banish this card: Synchro or Xyz Summon 1 “Moyufutsusa” Synchro or Xyz Monster from your Extra Deck using monsters on your side of the field that meet the requirements of those cards. If this card is banished, you can tribute 1 Fusion, Ritual, Synchro, or Xyz monster you control to add it to your hand. You can only use each effect of “Moyufutsusa World Calling” once per turn. Fusion spell? Ritual Spell? How about both? How about ALL OF THEM. Seriously if you expect me to believe you're playing rituals and fusions and not putting the two requirement cards together you're doing it wrong. Also I like the name I gave it. Moyufutsusa Dimension Calling (based on Moyufutsusa - Tempo Change and Metamorphosis) Quick-play SpellYou can tribute 1 Fusion, Ritual, Synchro, or Xyz monster you control to Special 1 “Moyufutsusa” Fusion, Ritual, Synchro, or Xyz monster from your deck or Extra Deck, ignoring the Summoning conditions. If you tributed a “Moyufutsusa” monster, treat the summon as the card’s corresponding summon. If this card is in your graveyard, you can banish it and return 3 “Moyufutsusa” monsters from your GY to your deck. Then, add 1 “Moyufutsusa - Future Champion” from your deck to your hand. You can only use each effect of “Moyufutsusa Dimension Calling” once per turn. Apparently, more than one person had the same idea. I modified it a bit for a more interesting dynamic with the rest of the cards, but I didn't do too much to the idea. Exchange one for another, and screw your opponent with more effects during their battle phase. Have fun. You expected traps? I expected sleep! 12:30 now after all the comments on each of the card changes, progressively getting weirder as I sound more like someone pitching you into buying something. I am proud of my work. I'm learning for Game Design and I wanted to do something to make a deck like this synergize into something I could play against Invoked or Blue Eyes. Finally, if you made it this far, get a life, but also thank you. I'll probably be posting this elsewhere for more recognition, but this is mainly for you, the admin who actually responded to my plea. I'm seeking to become something of myself here and appreciate the concern for my time's safety. Hope this was entertaining. Now I'm going to go to sleep before fall of my chair. Flash Flyer - Sakura
Is it weird that I'm trying to find how to make the deck more cohesive and edit each card individually despite being an archetype created by the collaboration of several people? Because I am and it's annoying. SO MANY CARDS Well, it might not help that some of the cards were designed more on their own and less to necessarily work together with each other or factor everything into their design. Or really, certain members legitimately stuck to the prompt and made them function as a generational thing for different eras. But that being said, you don't have to critique ALL of them individually. Just make a brief overview of the Archetype as a whole and that'll be sufficient enough for your required critique in threads. (Right now, you technically haven't given critique.) I also have to note that you are technically 2 days past the point in this section where a thread bumped up would not be classed as necro'd. I will let this one pass, but in the future, if thread has been inactive for 2+ weeks and you aren't thread creator, don't post in the thread. ====P.S. Tainted White's materials are 2 Level 7 monsters. Nyx forgot to c/p the materials when he put them into the cardmaker. (For the record, those of us who contributed to this project mostly wrote out the effects and all that. Pics were found by Nyx, due to his insistence of using them thereof.) Draconus297
Regarding your change to Future Champion, it's actually a nerf- Future Champion could SS any archetype member from the Deck, bar another copy of itself (mostly to prevent FC->FC->FC->whatever, make a R7 and let one Future Champion die). Also, OG FC could Summon himself in response to an effect activating while your opponent had monsters on board, but I suppose that's not the biggest nerf in the world. Smiling Champion worked the way it did because I wasn't seeing anyone else making too many high Scales, so I compensated by making SC say "all your other Scales are high Scales!" Calm Archer is our only 8- we otherwise have 2 1s and a 3, with SC acting as a 0. This way, I made up for the weaknesses of the design. The last effect of Silent Tune 1.1 doesn't actually say what it does. This "operate on the opponent's turn" shtick you tried to add is pretty neat, and I find Desutaur and Quaternion especially neat, and your altered Silent Tune definitely works as a viable alternative to how my version worked. All that said, maybe you could apply for the AGM. We could use someone like you to help make legacy support for our archetypes . . . and maybe you could campaign for Crystrons to be a part of our card pool and get them some more support. I do like your take on things, even if your grammar needs a fair bit of work.
Flash Flyer - Sakura
Just for the record, Eshai, you aren't going to get banned for posting in a necrobumped thread (well, I did say that I'll let it go because you are new and a lot of newer members tend to accidentally necrobump at first; self included a long time ago.) But yeah, just remember that if thread's been dead for 2+ weeks and it's not your thread, please don't post in it. Majority of the stuff you fixed above is basically Draco's stuff iirc. Only ones that I can make out that are originally mine are Victory Star and the Stardust Avatar. ====To be fair, Stardust was intended to function INDEPENDENTLY of Future Champion or the other bosses (hence the theme being "choose whatever era you want"). While the new effect is fine, I don't see why it's linked to Future Champion. (In thematics, Yusei had nothing to do with Yuya). That, and the original version was already fine on its own. Victory Star Hope is fine for the most part.
Draconus297
Smiling Champion was actually the Odd-Eyes parallel. Future Champion was meant to just generally be the Main Deck "do everything" guy- Dark Magician, Neos, Junk Synchron, Gagaga Magician, and Silver Claw (who managed to find a home in one of every different ED Summon in Arc-V)
Eshai
Oh really? I can see the resemblance. Honestly, I just thought of Future Champion as the engine. I made FC just any battle rather than direct attacks and monster effects because I thought the attack directly clause was redundant with the "when the opponent controls more monsters than you do" condition, so I took out the monster effect trigger for something that the opponent could play around and something that you would have to trick your opponent into. An example would be setting Metaverse to later bring out the field spell after your opponent has already entered the Battle Phase with your empty board, which allows for you to continue making plays, interrupting the board state and forcing them to continuously replaying attacks. I also thought you could use Struggling Battle for dead hands, but it in itself could be a dead draw after a single turn. I actually found that the Pendulums were a bit cloggy and against what I actually wanted. I thought maybe I could've made a Pendulum monster with the ability to allow for Pendulum Summoning during the opponent's turn, but I figured that would be a bit annoying to the opponent and counterintuitive to FC's effect. I made a post giving the archetype another name (since I never knew what the original one meant) and called them "Aikon(s)" as in the katakana for Icon, which I figured that was the idea of the archetype, to unionize several of the iconic cards. I renamed "Silent Tune" into Aikonic (Iconic) Melody, as a tribute to the awesome songs from my childhood. I'm working on learning grammar at the moment. I used a lot comma's in place of colons and semi-colons, but have been a bit obliviously because I quit the game for a while because I didn't really like the idea of Pendulums, but now I realize that was stupid so I'm just playing on YGOpro for the most part. Now I have to unlearn the grammar that I used to know and correct the grammar that I taught myself for years so that I can make cards.
