Northern Sage
Rules:All Leaderboard rules applyFirst to 3 votes or most votes by deadline wins. All voters must elaborate on their votes or else the vote will be rejected. Both contestants have the right to refuse votes, but must explain why they don't accept it.Card C votes are allowed in case the voter thinks both cards don't deserve a vote but must elaborate on why he/she thinks so.Cards must be PM'd to me.Written cards are allowed.Remove any evidence of the card being made by you to ensure anonymityIn case a downtime or an emergency happens, the deadlines may be extended.Deadlines:The deadline for cards is 48 hours after challenge has been accepted. The deadline for votes is 96 hours (4 days) after cards have been posted. In case of a challenger failing to meet the above deadline without explanation, the challenger slot will open up again, at which point it becomes first-come-first-serve between the previous challenger's and new submissions.Requirement:Make a card themed around a philosophical concept. Card A: Once per turn: You can target 1 of your banished monsters; banish it face-down instead, and if you do, Special Summon 1 "Noumen Token" (LIGHT/Psychic/ATK 0/DEF 0) with the same Level as that monster. Its name is treated as the name of the name of that monster. If this card leaves the field, you can flip all cards banished face-down by this effect face-up. Card B: Target 1 face-up monster on the field; banish it until your next Standby Phase. Then, if that monster was Special Summoned during this turn, draw 1 card. After that monster returns to the field, it gains 500 ATK and DEF and is unaffected by other card effects while it is face-up on the field. You can only activate 1 "Transcendent Aura" per turn. «CØgni§»
So, I accept that this vote may be discounted, as I'm still a little rusty on the new meta, but I'll give it my best. Card A:I had to look up "Banish Face Down", as I've never come across that mechanic before. Rather interesting idea, gaining a couple points for weirdness from me. I can see how this card can be used, locking out your opponent from targeting any of your banished cards, whilst still having their namesakes on the battlefield. Probably good in tandem with Blue Eyes and Burning Abyss off the top of my head, if the machine for the deck backfired for some reason, and can get around some hard counters to some archetypes. However, for me this is a side-deck card, as I don't really see decks that can be built around it (again, my meta may be off here, so if there are decks based around the mechanics at work, let me know). As for the fluff of the card: I get where you're coming from here. Seems good. Card B:This card seems like a "get out of jail free" clause. It has some quite powerful uses, being a free draw for Six Sams and the like if you use it on your turn. Then, when it comes back it gains a free boost (which is quite minimal), and becomes unaffectable by other card effects whilst it is on the field Face Up. This means, outside of a bad battle-phase (which, if you use on a boss monster, is unlikely to happen), or you choose to flip it face down (probably because you're feeling sorry for your opponent), the card becomes Arcana Force 0 on steroids. This card would be run, I can see that, but I can also see it being limited due to the power behind it. For example of a few monsters that it would be horrendous on:• Any monster with an ATK and/or DEF of 2700+• Any monster that cannot be destroyed by battleFluff wise: Same as above, it fits well. So, for me, the question is do I prefer a card that is weird, but wouldn't see much play, OR a card that is OP and may get banned if it were real.I'm heading more towards Card A ("Noumenon Canvas"), and that's where my vote lies. Northern Sage
1-0 Card AThat's a wrap, unless my opponent has any objections to the vote.

Flash Flyer - Sakura
Since neither of you have objections to the vote, going to end this and declare A as the winner. Make sure one of you reports this result in the Leaderboard thread if you want it to count towards your Season 16 record.
