Reposting this b/c funk trying to get html to work: if you don't accept this only because it's not pretty... well then, idk what to say.

[spoiler=Girasol]"Blow a hole in whomever stands against you."

Name: Girasol.

Age: Late 20s.

Gender: Female.

Race: Faun.

Class: Marksman.

Appearance: Girasol’s character model is more cervine than caprine, fitting her motif as a very unusual faun. Thin and tall, she is a willowy creature, the structure of each bone on her six-foot frame traceable beneath her skin. From the waist down, her legs are covered with fine velvety fur in a shade of dark brown, ending digitigrade on small deer hooves: a similarly-small deer tail sticks out in back. The skin that is not covered with fur, though, is deathly pale, prone to dark bruising under her eyes. Girasol has few scars, but the ones that are most noticeable are the rows of stitch marks above and below her lips… as if someone had sewn them shut and violently ripped the stitches out.

Two branching antlers sprout from Girasol’s forehead, terminating in a variety of forks and points. These antlers originate from a tangled mess of brown hair, hanging down in front in a pair of messily-plaited braids. Her body is similarly ornamented. A heavy black cloak, made of some sort of canvas and hooded, is always found thrown over her shoulders. Underneath, her only clothing is a mass of thick necklaces of various materials hanging around her neck, fully obscuring her breasts. Finally, as a faun, Girasol doesn’t wear anything on her lower body: nothing to see under all that fur, anyways. The only thing is a gunbelt to hold ammo, crescents and her secondary weapon.

Personality: To be quite frank, Girasol isn't a very nice person… er, faun. Her most notable trait – and some would say her flaw – is an absurd tendency towards bluntness. She is a straight shooter, not used to subtlety and dispensing with formality at the earliest opportunity. To Girasol, the world is divided into two groups of people: those she doesn't like, and those she tolerates; and people slide between those groups at a moment’s notice. Conversing with her therefore can be a prickly ordeal: she doesn't readily open up, after all. If she feels you’re going the wrong way, the faun is just as ready to spit a hard gguhjuh! rather than try to be productive.

While there is a soft center buried beneath all the thorns and horns, it comes out very rarely. Girasol prefers to be on her own for the most part: it took a good deal of cajoling and convincing for her to join Ithaca, and even still she harbors hesitation when the guild goes on larger raids. She still considers herself something of a lone wolf, and always brings a critical voice to guild meetings. However, even though a few choice words could be used to describe her (namely “frosty jabroni”), one that doesn’t apply is “murderer.” If she has to go up against another beta tester in combat, Girasol aims only to disable, not to kill. She has a moral code, as inscrutable as it may be.

There’s one thing that really grinds Girasol’s gears, though: deceit. She hates misrepresentation and obscuring one’s true thoughts: at the end of the day, Bluefire is just a game, and those who delude themselves into thinking otherwise earn nothing but her ire. Which is the fear that has been nibbling away under her skin since her entrapment in the virtual world: that she’s forced to insert herself into a world whose conceits and cultures are ultimately alien to her, like a square peg to a round hole. And that at the end of the day, her prickliness will drive away those who she may ultimately need, when it’s too late.

IRL Name: Kim, Sujin.

Home: Seoul, South Korea.

Gender: Female.

Age: 28.

History: Kim Sujin never considered herself to be an "insider" to the ways of the world. Her mother and father were both heavy workers as a child, leaving little attention to her supervision or social life. While they made sure that young Sujin never got into trouble, they never took much an ear to her social plights either, leading her to be awkward around her schoolmates. This was compounded by a rather sharp tongue and an unwillingness to play the inward/outward emotional tact that is all too common in South Korea. This continued throughout high school, to the point where she may have done better as a gangster or delinquent, instead of just a nobody.

As a result, Sujin fell into the duk subculture, frequenting the malls of Yongsan for new and old video games which she would while the nights away with. Her parents gave her little attention, so these habits continued through university, where she would stay up to wee hours of the morning gaming and journaling; and post-graduation, where even with a fulltime job as a secretary her hobbies continued unabated. However, all the gaming did little to help her social life, and Sujin's acerbic tongue and personality continued to fester. It was only encouraged when she started a small blog up, detailing her observations on videogame culture. Her dry observational voice and frequent updating patterns garnered her a small but loyal fanbase. (It didn't hurt that Sujin wasn't terribly unattractive, either.)

She made the jump into MMORPGs during a late-night arcade binge, picking up on the conversation of the couple on the booth next to her. Curious about the demo of the game "Creatures of Habit" she heard mentioned, Sujin jumped right in. She purchased one of the now-primative VR headsets and signed up, and instantly was hooked. Why bother with a videogame experience that didn't try to emulate reality? Why not immerse yourself in a world of your own design?

Her time playing creatures expanded the reach of Sujin's blog, but it also merely encouraged the negative aspects of her personality to flourish. Not having much healthy interpersonal experience was costing the woman deeply, but it wasn't something that she even noticed. The feedback of her fans was the only thing that mattered: her job was merely a way to keep a roof over her head and to pay the internet bill. When Bluefire's beta testing lottery came up and Sujin won a spot, she was thrilled. Here was a way to spread her audience even further!

Choosing the Marksman class with the aim of being a sniper, Girasol originally intended to be a support player, less involved with the beta testing (although she did dutifully report bugs). She joined a small guild to start with, the Scorpions. It was a departure from her typical modus operandi, but the reasons why she normally didn’t team up would make themselves quickly apparent. Girasol clashed with the Scorpion guild master, an orc whose name she didn’t care to remember. She didn’t agree with their mindless grinding and raiding, instead preferring to (as she put it) “do her own thing.” He tried to keep her under his thumb, she rebelled, and before Girasol knew it her name was besmirched across the BBS. A petty thing, to be sure, but one she wouldn’t let ruin her time.

She struck back in her own way. After resigning from the Scorpions with nary a warning, Girasol started to subtly follow their convos, keeping in touch with a “friend” (in reality one of the few in the guild who hadn’t pissed her off severely.) Tracking them to each location they visited, Girasol would do the same thing over and over. Set her sights on the orc, and when he moved in for the kill on the boss- bam. Headshot, then leave before anyone could notice. It was pretty obvious that she was out to get him, but her evasion skills were so good that he just couldn’t get her. His nerves frayed over the course of a month, until eventually the orc snapped and quit Bluefire entirely. What a tidy result.

She thus barely noticed when the lockdown hit. Although she tried continuing with striking out on her own for the first bit, as per her custom, Sujin (now Girasol) ended up joining Ithaca out of a sense of self-preservation. Her "lone wolf" style of gameplay would do her no favors in surviving in a world where a single mistake in the field would cost her life. And even though the had been rubbed the wrong way more than once before, things were just getting harder and harder from there on out...

Question: What is the exchange rate between crescents and currencies like dollars, pounds etc?

it's honestly fairly irrelevant? players never could buy more crescents with actual money. A crescent is the equivalent of like a 50 cent piece

[spoiler=Quite possibly the worst pirate you've ever heard of]

ABRnUDG.png?1

x393wz.jpg

Now, just to be clear, you have heard of me?x393wz.jpg

Personal Information:

x393wz.jpg

Name: Captain Roy Finch (username FlyingFinch)

Age of Appearance: I would say something about gracing the seas for 24 years, but the game has only been out a few months.

Gender: Was the all-around air of masculinity not enough to tip you off?

Race: You won't find rugged good looks like this on anything but a human, darling!

x393wz.jpg

[spoiler=Appearance:]

bCPtBO6.jpg

Standing at a respectable - nay, a monumental 179 centimeters, the renowned Captain Roy Finch is ne'er seen without his signature, or better yet famous black and white jacket. Though it may not look it, this outfit is actually lightly armored, but more importantly it looks damn cool. Purchased with hard-earned crescents from the haven Adrale. Another of his incredibly notable, if not entirely unforgettable features is the dark eye-patch covering his right peeper. Now, you may be wondering to yourself "How did such an invincible captain sustain such an injury?" or perhaps you surmise "He must be covering an eye so it can be used for night-vision, befitting of a nautical genius such as himself!" and the answer to that mystery is one you do not have the privilege to learn, for it is the Captain's greatest secret! As for the rest of his attire, the fantastic Captain Roy Finch strays away from the overly plumy and billowy clothing often worn by corsairs, as he knows that anything less than form-fitting and comfortable simply betrays his good looks.

x393wz.jpg

[spoiler=Personality:]

The Great Captain Roy Finch is an individual of few equal. Now, admittedly, he can be just the slightest on the fearful side, but truly, who wouldn't be if the world you were forced to live in was one that actively sought to end your life? But that is no huge issue! Even when he runs away, he does so courageously! After all, death would just be an escape! To live is to continue fighting against this nightmare! And fight I must! I... I mean he. Fight he must! Of course, Captain Finch's greatest strength lies not on the battlefield, but in glorious communion with others! He is most at home when sharing a round of whatever's cheapest with the people worthless enough to consider him an ally. And an ally he is! Though his priority is always with himself, he demonstrates unbelievable levels of selflessness, and definitely wouldn't sneak off to steal as many crescents as he could from the merfolk while his crew kept them occupied, before pinning the heist on said crew!

Though it may be difficult to believe of such a tremendous figure, the Great Captain Roy Finch is not without weakness! Try as he might, he can never manage to resist the allure of a good lady, and if anything could turn him to heroics it would be a damsel in distress! Now truly, this is not so much a flaw, as it is a side-effect of his own incredible unparalleled charms! You see, when one is a gift to womankind, if would be selfish to keep such a gift to oneself, and the Great Captain Roy Finch is anything if not selfish! Of course, this charm does extend beyond romantic pursuits. In fact, he is so immensely skilled in bluffing that if there is one thing that has been an asset to him over these few months, it has been his silver tongue! Silver as the crescents he has stolen, nay earned with it! When confronted with a truly difficult situation, his first impulse is to talk his way out of it, and talk he does! Though he isn't necessarily the strongest player on the server (though he definitely could give the toughest of them a run for their money in a fist-fight) he has survived as long as he has for a damn good reason. He has a dangerous wit about him, and knows how to use it.

x393wz.jpg

[spoiler=Biography:]

The story of the Great Captain Roy Finch starts just as any hero's would: with a healthy amount of gambling and booze. As a beta tester, he had learned the behavior of NPCs in taverns quite well, and used this knowledge to effectively cheat the system, gaining massive amounts of crescents in a short time. Unfortunately, some of the bugs he intended to exploit for his riches had been patched, resulting in the one thing he never truly did expect: He was caught. Of course, he had already amassed himself a small fortune through his sheer expertise and tact and managed to use this to take himself to his own personal favorite Haven: Niska. By now, rumors were starting to spread about character death meaning permadeath, so he was more than grateful for his hesitation before throwing himself off a cliff in an attempt to log out.

After realizing he did not have the funds required to purchase the sloop he had in mind, he made the well-thought-out decision to steal one. The theft went better than he had expected, but nowhere near as well as he hoped, forcing him to dodge authorities as well as NPC pirates in his journeys along the Merchant's Coast. Over the course of a few months, he developed a small crew, just a guild of around a dozen, to assist him in his player-led piracy. This went wonderfully, up until a small altercation involving a group of merfolk and the booty of a lifetime, but that's all squared away now. Having become rich with the crescents of fish-people and separated from his crew in a definitely unrelated incidient, he was prepared to live as peaceful a life as he could alone on his ship in the open ocean, before receiving a strange message from an unknown member.

Combat Information:

x393wz.jpg

Affiliation: Ithaca

Class: Rogue

Sub-Class: Corsair

Level: 33

x393wz.jpg

[spoiler=Inventory:]

Flintlock Pistol x4: Since reloading these weapons is difficult to manage in the heat of battle, Captain Roy Finch demonstrates his immense combat prowess by holstering four of them, rather than just one! He has them holstered in a reverse position, choosing to use either a cross-draw or a cavalry draw, because those look way cooler than otherwise and he ain't no damn cowboy.

Armored Jacket: Deceptively well-armored, this leather jacket repels some damage. Additionally, it offers additional protection from various environmental effects, such as heat and cold. The last perk of the jacket is it gives him a +20% bonus to his bluff skill, because he looks so damn fine!

Court Sword: Thin an precise, this sword can pierce between layers and plates of armor, allowing it to ignore a portion of the defenses from many types of protection. This allows the strategically superior Captain Roy Finch to battle even heavily-armored enemies, despite having relatively low power!

Locksmith's Tools: These tools are crucial for use of Captain Roy Finch's lockpicking skill, and consists of a set of torsion wrenches to turn the cylinder of the lock, as well as various sizes of pins to manipulate the inner-workings of the lock. Additionally, it contains a skeleton key, which can open most simple lock designs.

x393wz.jpg

[spoiler=Sample Skills:]

Bluff: The ever-ingenious Captain Roy Finch uses this skill almost constantly, allowing him to haggle for higher selling prices and lower buying prices, gain information from NPCs (and unwitting players!), and generally lie his way through thick and thin!

Scrounge: The main skill of the treasure-hunter skill tree, this allows the resourceful Captain Roy Finch to find little bits of treasure that might escape the attention of less adept adventurers!

Stealth: A skill available to any players of the Rogue class, this allows the elusive Captain Roy Finch to escape notice through non-magical means, giving him silent breathing and silent footsteps, as well as allowing him to move more effectively from shadow to shadow.

Sleight of Hand: This skill is part of the Treasure Hunter suite, allowing the deft Captain Roy Finch to manipulate objects with incredible dexterity, so much so that others have difficulty in identifying his precise movements. This can be used to perform card tricks, steal items without garnering attention, and escape from various binding (an especially useful skill when often opposing the law).

Lockpicking: An incredibly useful skill when crescents are the primary goal, this allows the Captain to open locks with ease, as long as he has the proper tools on him or can jury rig tools from other objects.

Real-World Identity:

Name: James Dent

Gender: Male

Age: 18

Biography: James is fresh out of high-school (he played the beta during his senior year) and uses it as a form of escapism. In his real life, he was bullied quite a lot, but in-game he could be as brave or famous as he wanted. He had a job at the local movie theater, but obviously does not any longer, as he is a little bit preoccupied with being trapped within a death game.

I was really worried when I started reading this that you were just going to make a carbon copy of Jack Sparrow, so kudos to you for making a very similar character but one that is different enough that he is still interesting. The personality is solid. The bio is good, I especially like the detail of his betrayal of the other guild. However, he would not be able to receive a message from an unknown player. Players can't receive messages any more now that the game is back on the beta servers. Their only method of communication is the game-wide message boards and guild message boards that are accessed via the HUD. Take another look at the database for a little bit more info on this. Basically, Roy would've had to be looking for the post on the game-wide message board about the start of a new guild.

I am both intrigued and slight concerned with the lack of offensive skills. How does Roy generally fight?  Also the line: To live is to continue fighting against this nightmare! Um, deep as Hell? i had to sit back for a second

Personal Information

Name: Lichiethro

Age of Appearance: 23

Gender: Male

Race: Elf

[spoiler=Appearance]

AAFYW2a.png

Height: 6'3"

Weight: 167.3 lb

[spoiler=Personality]

The best word to describe Lichethro is arrogant. He believes that he can take on any challenge thrown at him with ease - this is the prime reason why he became a streamer in the first place, after all. Despite his arrogant and sarcastic way of talking, he is a careful strategist, planning out his moves as he makes them. If his plans go awry, however, he is able to adapt to the situation on the fly.

He is very competitive, striving to be the best in whatever he is trying to do. This had lead to him being argumentative, constantly getting into squabbles with his friends. His general hot-headed nature and sarcastic way of speaking do not help situations at all. He rarely backs down from a fight, and when he speaks he says what he thinks. Despite his hot-blooded nature and recklessness, he is actually quite the tactician, and is able to think up of something quickly on the spot.

Lichethro and Kevin have near identical personalities, as he doesn't really do much role playing in that regard.

[spoiler=Bio]

It had been a week since the incident. Lichethro had partied up with some of the moderator of his stream that had been trapped with them - luckily, they had a rather well-rounded team with tanks, healers, and DPS. They managed to get through the initial slaughter without any casualties, although there were many close calls, especially with their Duelist. They formed a small guild to increase their odds of survival and, due to Lichethro feeling partially responsible, made it their goal to try and recruit as many of his viewers that were stuck as possible.

Despite the horror and dread of the whole situation, it was impossible to deny that there was some sense of fun to the whole ordeal. Naturally, Lichethro became a sort of tactician of his team, commanding both his members and the legion of undead he had control over, quickly becoming the highest leveled character in the guild. All of this was going straight into his head, feeding his already big ego. He started becoming more reckless, trying out harder dungeons and going for rarer loot.

This lust for power lead to them going into a rather high leveled dungeon - they were just barely able to meet the level requirement for it. There were also rumors of this specific dungeons - people gave it the nickname "The Graveyard" due to how many lives it had claimed and due to the overall aesthetic. However, due to his beta knowledge, he knew there was a rare artifact in there. Despite the objection of the other guild members, they reluctantly went on with his plan of taking on the dungeon.

It was all going well until they reached the raid boss - a large, cloaked lich known as "The Reaper". It was a long fought battle, but eventually Lichethro's guild won. However, it was not without a cost - one of their members had perished during the fight. The cause of the young Duelist's death was due to Lichethro's recklessness, as he had commanded her to perform a rather risky attack. Taking her death permanently, he took the Grave Masquerade and, leaving the rest of the loot for his guild, left the group to become a solo player. Since the incident, he has roamed the land as a solo player. He has recently heard rumors that necromancers have the ability to revive dead players. While skeptical, he still pursues the possibility in case there's a way for him to undo his mistakes.

Real-World Information

Name: Kevin Holmes

Gender: Male

Age: 24

[spoiler=Bio]

Kevin Holmes is a well-known streamer, known for streaming many JRPG games and, on occassion, MMOs. While he was more familiar with single-player JRPGs like the Terminal Tale series, he was no stranger to the world of MMOs. In fact, he would apply most of his JRPG knowledge into MMOs - the ideas of buffs and debuffs came second nature to him. He made splashes in the MMO world as a rather famous solo player, although he obviously didn't make it as far as he could without a guild. Wanting to get better, he started making guilds to party up with the people who watched his stream.

His fame had let his get early access and review copies of many games, even getting beta access to big events. When word was about the contest to join the beta for Bluefire, Kevin jumped onto that opportunity immediately. Unsurprisingly, with his skill and his fame, he managed to get into the beta despite the harsh competition. Obviously proud of himself, him mind started wandering at the possibility of streaming a VRMMORPG. However, those dreams were quickly shut down when he was told what he was and wasn't able to stream. Needless to say, the restrictions were very strict, only being able to stream a few hours of the game.

Upset, but not defeated, he devoted himself to try and make the best with what he had. He was determined to pack as much information as he could during his small time frame. Choosing a race and class was rather easy - he almost always chose mage-like classes, and the necromancer in particular called out to him. Choosing an elf was another no brainer, due to their natural affinity with magic, although he late regret not picking Dwarf due to their surprising bonus to necromancy.

While the VR aspect of the whole RPG was mind blowing and a lot to take in, he quickly got a grip of the system - luckily, he hadn't picked a high mobility class like the Duelist, as it made the whole interface a lot easier to deal with. Slowly as he played more and more, he started streaming less and less, He had become completely immersed in the game, checking for bugs and in general pushing himself as far as he could. As the beta closed, he returned to streaming other MMOs and JRPGs. However, none of them seemed to scratch the itch that Bluefire had left.

As soon as the game officially released, Kevin immediately hopped onto it. He planned to start extended streams of the game during the next week of the game, however, he had invited many of his viewers to play the game with him. It was all fun and games until the incident happened. Luckily, almost all of his viewers he invited had managed to log out before being trapped. However, those who had been there with him during the beta had become trapped like him. The best course of action, of course, would be to group up with the remaining viewers until they were able to form a guild.

Trivia: Kevin has been known to do occasional Art Streams, despite his artistic skills being rather mediocre.

I think out of all the apps so far I am most impressed with how you chose your skillset. It is very typical Necromancer, but it's a theme that you perfected in your Skills. The only thing about your app that leaves a little confused is to why he would choose to be a part of this guild after choosing to be solo after watching his friend die. You don't provide a reason for this.

I wanted to post the first app. Oh well, guess I'll settle for first completed app instead.

"Th, that is to say..."

Personal Information

Name: Melethil

Race: Elf

Age of Appearance: 13

Gender: Male

[spoiler=Appearance]NZcEWJU.jpg

Height: 4'4"

Weight: 72 pounds

Melethil's skin has been tanned and darkened by time spent under the desert sun hanging over Xyra. His hair is kept short at all times, bordering on black in color and framing a soft face that holds golden yellow eyes and the distinct pointed ears that give Melethil away as an elf. Adorning his right shoulder is a tattoo featuring curved lines, resembling a flower if seen in its entirety. To better handle the desert heat, Melethil wears light, airy clothes that let his body breathe. When Melethil leaves the city, he wears a brown leather cloak meant to shield him from the cold desert nights and sandstorms alike, and carries a large white backpack filled with food, water, and potions, with a rolled-up tent tied down to the top. Although Melethil fills this backpack with supplies to last him about a week and a half, he always takes care to not fill it too much; he always intends to return home with treasure in tow. Due to the meticulous care he takes with his hygiene, Melethil's skin and hair are soft to the touch.

Around Melethil's neck is a rope necklace ending in a solid gold medallion with the general shape of a dragon's wing. Both the rope and the medallion are clearly far older than Melethil himself, or any Haven for that matter.

[spoiler=Personality]Melethil is a timid creature, not really being one to speak his mind or stand up for himself. He isn't very good at small talk either; when Melethil speaks, it's mostly business. Perhaps because he's not so good with the whole social niceties thing, he generally tries to avoid crowds. Melethil is most content to be either by himself, or discussing business with a customer or partner. However, being a rather cowardly elf, Melethil is easily intimidated, which can be detrimental to his business. It's also pretty easy to read his mood. When Melethil's not feeling so great, or if he's on top of the world, you'll know. Despite running a business, Melethil - due to his timid nature - is a poor negotiator, and has a bad habit of letting his business partners walk all over him simply because he lacks the spine to stand up for himself.

Speaking of business, Melethil is a surprisingly greedy little elf. His two greatest passions in life are money and history, and he wants the former to belong entirely to him. He doesn't even want it so he can live a life of excess in a lavish palace for the rest of his days; Melethil just wants to have mountains of crescents hidden away in a personal treasury. In the pusruit of coin, Melethil's always keeping his ears open for new ways to make a quick buck, or for good opportunities to expand his existing business. Likewise, due to his fascination with history, he's always listening for rumors of old ruins being discovered. Whenever he learns of a new ruin from an ancient civilization, he always wants to be the very first one to explore it and claim the loot for himself. He'll sell whatever he can put the biggest price tags on, and add the rest to his collection until such time as he can sell it for a huge profit. In fact, Melethil's a compulsive hoarder, as anyone who's seen inside his house can attest. When Melethil obtains something, he has a hard time getting rid of it, and he only manages to find spare room in his backpack because he makes a point to only put food, water, and relics he finds or plans to sell in there.

Being a Cleric, Melethil also watches his friends and allies closely. If someone is injured, he'll be on the case. If somebody's sick, he'll be by their side until they're healthy again. Seeing that everyone is alive and well is his job and - even if he's not getting paid for it - he makes sure to deliver as best he can. Appealing to his thirst for wealth, however, can really bring out the best of Melethil's abilities. Nothing motivates him to heal his allies quite like a big fat paycheck. Trying to flatter him won't go anywhere though; Melethil's ego is virtually nonexistent, and he'll be fast to handwave any attempts to make him sound like some team savior that miraculously saves lives like it was nothing.

...of course, Melethil is also played by an experienced roleplayer who's going out of her way to stay in-character for as long as possible. While all of the above definitely applies to Melethil - the character - it doesn't necessarily reflect the personality of Haruka, the player.

In a stark contrast to Melethil, Haruka is sarcastic, blunt, and has a bizzarre sense of pride as a healer. Her primary concern with any given RPG is how well she can immerse herself into the world of the game and feel as though she really is her character, which has brought her to call Bluefire the greatest RPG of all time, despite the current server issues. However, being Melethil 24/7 for so long is starting to wear on Haruka. Lately, there have been brief moments where she believes she really and truly is Melethil instead of Haruka. It's a disturbing sensation once the episode passes and she realizes she isn't really Melethil, but this hasn't stopped her. For better or worse, when Haruka commits to something, she commits wholly and entirely, and she intends to commit to being Melethil until such time as she can finally log off.

[spoiler=Biography]Upon creating Melethil, his player knew exactly what to do. Over the course of Bluefire's beta, Melethil largely stayed in and around Xyra, venturing out into the sands of the Pernicies Desert every week or so in search of ancient relics. Melethil's business, aside from acting as a healer for hire for adventurers or parties that believed they may need one, was buying and selling these relics. Anyone can go delving into ancient crypts for treasure, but it took a real eye for business to turn a profit selling the tresaure other players found and sold to him.

When the game itself was released, Melethil continued his business, though for the first day or so, his clientele has skyrocketed in size. Granted, as CrossLife began to get players out, his clients dwindled back down to just beta testers and NPCs. Before long, he was just selling off his loot to NPCs in the city, and to any fellow beta testers that happened to come into Xyra looking for old relics. Business...wasn't that great. Melethil did what he could though, and got by well enough. He was making more as a healer than he was as a treasure hunter, what with players not wanting to die and all. It wasn't quite what he'd wanted - finding relics of civilizations long-since past was his passion - but it kept the roof over his head and food in his stomach. Not to mention it made leveling up a breeze.

Eventually, the guild Ithaca was formed. Up to that point, Melethil had avoided joining any guilds. Wings of Icarus wasn't really interested in Melethil himself so much as him being a Cleric. Other guilds didn't really care much about him or his class. It wasn't until Ithaca came knocking at his door with recruitment offers just last week that Melethil finally joined a guild. Why? Well, put simply, his business was failing. People who needed a healer were starting to make Cleric friends who could take them on dangerous adventures for free, and as interesting as Melethil's relics were, they were more often than not glorified junk loot. Nobody was buying them, and the NPCs - having so many because of Melethil - weren't willing to pay as much for more wares that weren't really selling, if they were willing to pay at all.

To Melethil, it was mostly a matter of joining the guild being the only solution to his failing business. With a guild name to back himself up with, Melethil was able to sell his relics to NPCs for just a little bit more gold, as well as having adventuring partners to sell them in other Havens that he hadn't sold his wares to just yet. It also meant getting Wings of Icarus off his case since he could finally tell them "Sorry, I'm already in a guild." The recruiter didn't seem all that pleased with the news.

Combat Information

Affiliation: Ithaca

Class: Caster

Sub-Class: Cleric

Level: 40

[spoiler=Inventory]Staff of Shu'rima: A caster staff Melethil found in an ancient ruin deep in the Pernicies Desert. It was designed more with Necromancers in mind, having the ability to create a weak ghost whenever the wielder summoned any type of undead, but Melethil kept it for himself due to its passive ability to decrease all of his casting times and cooldowns by 33%, including the global cooldown that one must wait for between skills.

Xyran Garb: Simple clothing at a glance, and fairly decent robe armor. While lacking any particularly amazing ability, the stats provided by the clothes scale with the wearer's level. Plus it's very breathable and as such can help the wearer deal with the desert heat. Because it's more breathable, Melethil opted for the female version.

Dragonwing Medallion: The very first relic Melethil found, it's an old rope holding a golden charm at the end in the general shape of a dragon's wing. Provides no stats, but lets Melethil fly for a period of no more than ten seconds (30 second cooldown (reduced to 20 by Staff of Shu'rima)).

Preserved Fish: Fish caught from the river of Xyra, and properly preserved with salts and other preserving techniques. Can be made into tasty sushi, or cooked. Melethil's got enough fish to feed himself for a week, though having to feed others would decrease how long his supply can last. Even preserved, fish only stays good for so long though; the fish Melethil's got on him are only going to be good for the next week or so.

Canteens and Gourds of Water: So much water. Melethil never leaves home without plenty of water to stay hydrated with, taken from the river. There's enough water in here to last Melethil and only Melethil for a week. Aside from his trusty canteen, Melethil keeps his water in two large gourds that hang from the sides of his backpack.

Melethil's relics: Glorified junk loot. It's a collection of items that weren't exactly equippable items or useful trinkets, but were still cool enough to not be absolute garbage; they're excellent items for decoration or collecting. Speaking of collecting, collecting these from the ruins around the Pernicies Desert is mostly how Melethil makes a living, and he's looking to sell these in Havens outside of Xyra to expand his business, be it to players or to NPCs he hasn't already sold a boatload of relics to. Melethil's backpack currently holds ten relics, though he's got at least a hundred more back home.

[spoiler=Sample Skills]Flash Heal: A quick healing spell with an instant cast speed that doesn't trigger global cooldown. However, it costs more mana than Heal and doesn't heal for quite as much, as Melethil instantly expends some mana to heal a nearby ally or himself. Can also be cast while casting other spells. Flash Heal has three charges, and Melethil regains one charge every 5 seconds (reduced to 3 by Staff of Shu'rima).

Heal: A simple, yet potent, healing spell. In terms of raw healing per second and mana efficiency, this is Melethil's strongest spell, healing the target for a decent chunk of health after a 3-second (reduced to 2 by Staff of Shu'rima) cast for a relatively low mana cost. The low cost allows Melethil to use it a lot during one fight.

Regenerate: A heal-over-time spell that speeds up the target's health regeneration, causing them to heal by an amount equal to 25% of their maximum health over the course of 5 seconds. Because this spell is a health regen buff instead of a direct heal, Melethil can get a lot more health out of this spell if he uses it on a tank as opposed to someone with a small HP bar like himself. Instant-cast, with a 6-second cooldown (reduced to 4 by Staff of Shu'rima).

Respite: A single-target spell with a 1-second cast time (reduced to .66 seconds by Staff of Shu'rima) that restores the target's stamina, by an amount equal to their maximum stamina, over the course of 10 seconds. Doesn't have any cooldown, but has a rather hefty mana cost that keeps it from being spammed recklessly, though not to an extent that it can't be used when needed.

Calm Mind: A single-target spell with an instant cast time and a 20-second cooldown (reduced to 13 seconds by Staff of Shu'rima). Calm Mind is a mana regeneration spell that increases the target's mana regeneration, causing them to regain an amount of mana equal to their total mana over the course of 10 seconds. Casting any spells, taking damage, or moving, will remove the Calm Mind buff, and Melethil has to channel this spell, meaning both he and his target must be perfectly still and not do anything else. The mana cost is negligible, but the spell is only half as effective on Clerics, meaning Melethil can only get half of his mana bar back by using this.

Cleanse: A spell that removes debuffs from an ally. The mana cost is low, but increases with each use in the same fight, as well as with how many debuffs - and what type of debuffs- have to be removed. Cleanse can only remove debuffs that come from magic, poison, or disease; a bleed effect caused by a physical wound can't be Cleansed. 15-second cooldown (reduced to 10 by Staff of Shu'rima).

Power Word: Shield: A spell that costs 10% of the user's total mana, and gives a single target a protective bubble that absorbs damage equal to 50% of the user's total mana. Due to investing enough skill points into it, Melethil's Power Word: Shield's bubble also bursts after 10 seconds if it hasn't absorbed the maximum possible damage, healing nearby allies for the remaining amount. 20-second cooldown (reduced to 13 seconds by Staff of Shu'rima).

Holy Circle: An area-of-effect heal-over-time spell. The mana cost is significant, but using Holy Circle creates a healing circle. Allies who stand inside the circle will be healed over time. The circle lasts for 10 seconds, and heals for about the same amount as one use of Heal per 2 seconds. 30-second cooldown (reduced to 20 by Staff of Shu'rima).

Smite: The only damaging spell Melethil really uses, simply because he invests most of his skill points into raw healing power. Smite is an instant-cast spell with a 5-second (reduced to 3 by Staff of Shu'rima) cooldown. Upon casting Smite, Melethil calls down a blast of holy fire to burn the enemy with, immediately dealing a small amount of holy damage and dealing an equal amount over the next 5 seconds.

Real-World Identity

Name: Haruka Hirasawa

Gender: Female

Age: 18

[spoiler=Biography]Haruka has always been a massive fan of all things RPG. She loves the immersion of being cast into a whole new world with a brand-new identity, and has been into roleplaying for over a decade. When a new RPG came out, Haruka was on it like a lioness on its prey. She'd even gained a bit of a following online posting guides on how to really get into the immersion of a game and how to make a given character when unsure. And that wasn't all Haruka did either. Not by a long shot.

Haruka was also a doujin artist, not that she ever released under anything even vaguely resembling her real name. Haruka's doujins have always been heavy on shonen ai elements, with her original works often featuring elves and desert kingdoms; she claims to have quite the thing for them. When Bluefire's beta went up, Haruka saw the chance to create the character she could most enjoy playing. All of her desires given physical form. Melethil. She sent in an application to join the game's beta, and perhaps because of her experience and reputation as a roleplayer, she got in and was given an in-depth guide to the game's lore, which she was free to read before creating her character.

For the next year and a half, Haruka seemed to drop off the face of the internet world. Her doujin production grinded to a halt, her roleplaying articles became few and far between, and getting in touch with her at all was becoming rare. The reason? Bluefire. Simply put, Haruka was having the time of her life getting to actually be her character, instead of just looking at them and choosing the appropriate dialogue options. She single-handedly reported the most bugs and balance issues regarding the Cleric sub-class due to the absurd amounts of time she spent logged in, and mere hours before the game was properly released, she released an extensive guide on every in, out, left, and right of the Cleric.

Haruka did not expect it to be her final contribution to the internet, though at this rate, she fears it may well have been. She - as with all the beta testers - has been trapped in Bluefire since its official release. But she'll be damned if she breaks character just because of that. Haruka has managed to keep the persona of Melethil going strong for four months now, and she doesn't show any signs of stopping.

Trivia

Haruka's gone out of her way to figure out an in-universe biography for Melethil. The super-short version is that he grew up as an orphan living in a temple in Xyra, and although he had a talent for healing, he had trouble getting along with the priests and priestesses due to him having a hard time finding faith in Xyrus. He eventually grew up (not that his appearance suggests that) and took off to the desert to explore, finding an old ruin to take shelter in during a sandstorm, and thus began his love of old relics after he found a weathered and faded medallion.

Melethil seems to be more at ease when negotiating with women. Inversely, he seems to be more confident with male allies, and will likely prioritize healing the men over the women if there aren't any circumstances pressuring him to cast gender aside (such as the only tank in the group being a woman).

I couldn't find anything wrong and I tried to find it.

EDIT: I am pissed because I had more apps reviewed in this post but for some reason...only these showed up??

presumably the meaning behind his question is to figure out just about how much various items would be worth

Yeah I saw the point behind it, but that actually requires an entire index to be drawn up of materials and items available in the game for comparative purposes. Like how do you measure the cost of an enchanted sword based on the scale of currency that exists in a world without magic, ya know?

My advice on details on like that is to not get hung up on them; it was something that was hard for me to move passed when designing the world.

Prolly the editor being stupid again. Don't worry bout it. I'm sure we can be patient a lil while longer.

I sent several of you messages via Skype just because it was easier to throw out a stream of consciousness critique that way. So please let me know if anything I said doesn't make sense lol

ALSO: official announcement that apps will close sometime Monday evening, ~5ish CDT. An announcement about who is accepted will be made either that evening or Tuesday morning.

I just needed to know what amount of crescents is too much and enough

There are players that have given themselves several million crescents, some that haven't specified, like for all practical purposes it doesn't truly matter. For example, Yui's character is a hardcore capitalist, but there isn't a mention of crescents in the inventory. That's because he knows that I know that Melethil is probably pretty wealthy but that getting down exact number on the crescents isn't going to change whether or not I accept the character into the RP.

Still looking for an image so stay tuned

[spoiler=Cass]

"Man makes plans, god laughs. Woman spits in the god's mouth."

Personal Information:

Name: Delphi2 Cass

Age Approximation: 23

Gender: Female

Race: Human

[spoiler=Appearance]

fffe2b63fc5913b9c2c43a9da437da9a.jpg

Cass doesn't have much height on her, standing at 5'5", but is made of compact, lean muscle. Her skin is a radiant brown that always seems to catch the light just right. Her hair is normally fashioned into large, circular braids, but when she enters combat she normally puts the hood up on her robe and conceals her long braids in her robe so that her opponents cannot get a hold on them.

[spoiler=Personality]

Cass is unapologetically who she is and dislikes pretending to be something she is not. This is why she always introduces herself as Cass or Cassie, her name in real-life, and refuses to go by her screenname. She understands the appeal of being someone else, of roleplaying, but it's just never something that fit her.

Cass is a highly practical person that makes most of her decisions by thinking them through, balancing the pros and the cons. She tries not to make decisions based on emotions, especially as of late, as she believes that this form of decision making is what often causes people to make mistakes. Cass does not shy away from responsibility, in fact, she shoulders as much burden as she can bear...and then some. Part of this comes from a need to be in control and a hesitation to trust others with important tasks, but also some of it is a symptom of the general restlessness Cass feels when she has nothing to do. She is a very goal-oriented person and is always working towards something.

Despite being a highly practical person, Cass is not a cold person. Sardonic, honest, and intelligent, yes, but not cold. She has a strong concern for the well-being of others and had she been given the opportunity to choose her own class she probably would've picked Cleric or Paladin, something that could help more people. She is compassionate to a fault, a trait that occasionally even overrides her practical outlook on life.

Moreover, Cass is filled with anger. She's always been a cynic, angry and frustrated with society, but now she is angry with the extremely raw deal she was dealt. For one thing, she isn't even supposed to be here, she's not a beta tester, but the flipside of this emotion is, is that she is grateful that she is here because otherwise it would be her girlfriend that was trapped in Bluefire. But, then she is angry again that she is trapped here and not out in the real world with her.

However, more than anything, Cass is afraid. Like her anger, she doesn't acknowledge it much, but she is afraid that she has made the wrong choices, that she has trusted the wrong people, and that she will ultimately die before she finds a way out of Bluefire.

[spoiler=Biography]

Cass is not like most of the players stuck in the game. In fact, she may be the only person left in the game who did not play the beta. Throughout the beta trial of Bluefire, Cass had heard all about it from her girlfriend, whom was a beta tester. The day of the public release, Cass asked if she could play and her girlfriend just let her use her account, that way she wouldn't have to go through the tedious process of making a character. They were on a time crunch that evening, they had a dinner party to go to. So, Cass logged on as Delphi2, the Human Oracle.

When the announcement was made, Cass did not believe it at first. It was a prank. Or, even if it was real, maybe if she was quick enough she could still logout. So, she tried. She tried and she tried. She couldn't logout. And if she couldn't logout, that meant she could die. The first few days for Cass were Hellish, she started to lose track of the number of times she almost died. Fortunately, she came in contact with a friendly guy that was playing as a Faun Beast Master that seemed to have a pretty good control of the situation. He, and the small guild he had already established, Wings of Icarus, helped Cass figure out how to survive.

Cass was one of the first people to join Wings of Icarus, she wasn't a founding member, but she was close to it. Once she got her sea legs beneath her, she quickly proved herself a capable player and she did her best to help out as many people as possible as a part of the guild. Plus, it just made logical sense to play in a group. She probably wouldn't have survived going at the game solo, so as the guild grew the more confident Cass felt about the survivability of it all, the more she felt like she would live to make it home. As time went on, the guild's mission seemed to stray further and further away from others and each other. It became more about gaining more members, furthering the guild's reputation, and just generally being successful at the game. Cass didn't see the point in this, Bluefire was temporary after all, but she didn't question the guild leader. He had saved her life on numerous occasions and she thought she owed him this much.

About three months into the game, the Wings of Icarus were all camped out in Ula'ree. One morning, a couple of hours before dawn, Cass was woken up by a 'clairvoyant vision'. As an Oracle, sometimes Cass got alerts to randomized events that would be happening in the nearby future per the algorithm of the game. At daybreak there was set to be a siege on Ula'ree. Cass tried to tell the guild leader but he assured her that Ula'ree had just been under siege a couple of days before and wouldn't be at risk again for at least another week or two. Plus, the elders of Ula'ree were supposed to be giving the guild an important quest at daybreak and if they left, they couldn't get it. However, at daybreak they did not get a rare quest. Instead, vicious ape-like creatures swung through the treehouse city and laid siege to it. Over 3 dozen guild members died in the attack.

Cass left the guild after that, she couldn't be a part of something that risked the lives of its member just to be successful at a game that truly didn't matter. She was done trying to play this game by the rules of anyone else. In fact, she's done playing this game period. Coming to the conclusion that Cass would be a guild leader on her own she had only one mission in mind: get home.

Name: Cassandra "Cass" Seavers

Gender: Female

Age: 29

[spoiler=Bio]

Cassandra, or Cass, was a casual gamer by coincidence. Her steady girlfriend, Abigail, was a professional gamer and tech-enthusiast, so it was inevitable that she would pick up somethings along the way. It was, however, by no means a big part of her life. Cass was a trained EMT and cross-fit enthusiast. She loved bike riding and hiking; she always would try to drag Abigail on camping trips. When she was little she had a dream of being an Olympic swimmer, but that didn't turn out so well. She still loves the water though. Cass loves to sit in the dark during a thunderstorm with the window open just a little bit and hear the sky shake. She wonders if she'll ever get to truly experience that again.

Reposting this b/c f*** trying to get html to work: if you don't accept this only because it's not pretty... well then, idk what to say.

However, even though a few choice words could be used to describe her (namely “frosty b****”), one that doesn’t apply is “murderer.” If she has to go up against another beta tester in combat, Girasol aims only to disable, not to kill.

She thus barely noticed when the lockdown hit. Although she tried striking out on her own for the first few months, as per her custom, Sujin (now Girasol) ended up joining Ithaca out of a sense of self-preservation. Her "lone wolf" style of gameplay would do her no favors in surviving in a world where a single mistake in the field would cost her life. And things were just getting harder and harder from there on out...

Yeah, it was easier for me to just write the pre and post-game history in one bit. I can separate them out if you'd like.

I assume this is still accepting, since the tag in the thread doesn't say NA?

Apps are open until Monday around 5ish CDT! If you wanna send me your skype contact, i can add you to the skype message

EDIT:

@Rinne: Nah the formatting is fine, although I did notice that you have way more in your bio pre-getting trapped in the game than you do after. Which is fine, but also just being a lone character for a few months and then joining the guild out of self preservation doesn't really tell us what she has accomplished in game.

Personal Information

x393wz.jpg

Name: Princess Chloé Chloé

Age Approximation: 16

Gender: Female

Race: Human

[spoiler=Appearance]uwY78DU.png

A first-time gamer, Chloé was initially overwhelmed by the wealth of options available during the character creation process. To her older brother's endless amusement, she quickly chose the simplest course of action—skipping all of it. Her avatar is fairly unique, as she is one of a small handful of Bluefire players that opted to recreate their real-life appearances for in-game purposes, down to the last imperfection. As most of her in-game hours were logged in the arctic region known as Skryx's North, her outfit consists of winter-themed gear that allows her to brave the cold. Pale, slender, and petite, she stands at 5"4 and weighs approximately 110 lbs. Her long blonde hair is usually worn in a simple braid over one shoulder, tied with a light blue ribbon.

[spoiler=Personality]Timid and soft-spoken, Chloé tends to fade into the background for those who don't know her well, preferring to allow others to take the lead in most situations. All too aware of her ignorance when it comes to the more sophisticated aspects of high-level gaming, she instinctively looks to her peers for guidance. As a result of her sheltered upbringing, homeschooled by a constantly changing roster of teachers, she doesn't have much experience when it comes to interacting with people her own age, especially the rowdier crowds that large MMORPGs like Bluefire tend to attract. The main exceptions to this rule are her older brother Antoine, with whom she shares a very close and special bond, and her fiercely loyal animal familiar Heljä, who often helps her voice her ideas and speak up for herself.

Once she overcomes her shyness, however, Chloé is a bright and spirited girl with an endless appetite for life and new experiences. She is surprisingly much tougher than she looks, having suffered a considerable amount of emotional and physical pain due to the complicated and highly invasive medical procedures she underwent over the years. She is also very protective of her loved ones. Chloé has a particular gift for noticing small details that others might miss, honed by years of indoor confinement due to her delicate health, which often comes in handy for solving puzzles or finding rare items. Although she's frightened by The Profusion and its implications for her and the other beta testers, a small selfish part of her isn't quite ready to log out of Bluefire just yet, as doing so would mean having to return to the painful reality of her life outside the game.

[spoiler=Biography]Chloé joined Bluefire at the behest of her older brother Antoine, a big-shot gamer known as one of Canada's very best. His reasoning was that if Chloé couldn't visit the outside world because of her health problems, then the virtual world would come to her, so to speak. Using his personal fame, wealth, and connections, Antoine was able to secure two spots for them in the open beta testing. He immediately selected the "PALADIN" Subclass, knowing from experience that it would fit his playstyle the best and allow him to protect his little sister, "Princess Chloé," from the game's many dangers. As for the princess herself, she eventually chose the "BEAST MASTER" Subclass for sentimental reasons rather than any particular strategic advantage, as she always wanted to befriend animals as a child, and even now, still sheltered dreams of becoming a zoologist. Under her brother's tutelage and watchful eye, Chloé successfully completed many quests without too much difficulty, even managing to tame Heljä, a massive, sentient female polar bear. For a time, Bluefire seemed to be exactly what Antoine had promised—an opportunity for the two of them to explore the world, together.

The Profusion struck not long after, unleashing a wave of utter chaos across the world as players became aware that their lives were in danger. Realizing that the time had come for the pair to go home, Antoine set off with several of his guild mates in order to find a way out, leaving Chloé in relative safety in the Haven of Adrale. Days turned into weeks, weeks into months, and still... no word from her brother. Fearing that something terrible might have happened to him, Chloé and Heljä set out, trying to pick up his trail. Along the way, they heard mention of a newly-formed guild, Ithaca, whose raison d'être was summed up in one word: escape. Realizing that there is strength in numbers, Chloé, now going by her birth name, decided to join in the hopes of meeting someone able to help her find her missing brother.

Sub-Class: Beast Master

Level: 30

[spoiler=Inventory]Raiment of the Frost PrincessAn elegant silver ensemble woven from silk and lined with white fur, with matching gloves, boots, and stockings. Protects the wearer from weather-related hazards, reduces Frost Damage by 40%, and grants "Snow Fairy's Step," the ability to cross over snow and ice with little difficulty.

Tamer's Necklace: An enchanted charm to be worn by Beast Tamers, it reduces the cost of Contract Skills by 20% and increases the wearer's mana recovery rate by 30%.

Tamer's Silk Ribbon: Chloé's hair ribbon is more than just a stylish accessory—it's her main weapon and conduit for channeling magic, replacing the more traditional whip favored by most Beast Masters. While the physical damage inflicted using this weapon is reduced by a hefty 80%, it boosts the user's mana pool by 30%. The ribbon's unassuming nature also makes it much more likely to get overlooked by enemies.

[spoiler=Skills]Passive Skills:

Beast Whisperer

"Animals say the most incredible things, don't they?"

+ The player is able to speak the language of animals, allowing her to gather useful information and communicate with all manner of beasts.

+ This ability does not inherently influence the behavior of said animals: i.e., if they are currently hostile to the player, they are likely to stay that way. However, the more points the player invests into this skill, the more persuasive she will become.

Active Skills:

Beast Taming

"Whether thee be feathered, furred, or scaled, thy will is mine."

- Cost: 10% Max Mana

+ Transforms a Level 20 or lower animal into an ally for 30 seconds.

Subjugating Strike

"I said, SIT!"

- Cost: 10% Stamina, 10% Max Mana

+ 50% increased effectiveness against non-player character wild beasts.

Master's Sacrifice

"You're doing wonderfully, don't give up now!"

- Cost: 1 - 100% Max Mana

+ The player heals a targeted Contract Beast's health by a percentage equal the amount of mana paid.

Contract Release: Sacrificial Lambs

"You've done well! Now rest!"

- Cost: Summoned Contract

+ The player dismisses a Summoned Contract Beast and restores HP equal to that Contract Beast's remaining HP. The dismissed Contract Beast cannot be summoned again for an hour.

Contract Summoning: Heljä

"Friend, lend me your strength!"

- Initial Cost: 20% Max Mana

- Maintenance Cost: 3% Max Mana for every 5 minutes Heljä remains invoked

+ Summons Heljä, a Glacial Ice Bear

Winter's Breath

"Time for you to chill out!"

- Cost: 20% Max Mana

- Can only be used while Contract Beast: Heljä is invoked

+ The targeted Contract Beast expels icy breath for 10 seconds, dealing Frost Damage and slowing the movement of all enemies in close- to medium-range by as much as 60%, depending on their position. Any enemies caught within the attack for 5 seconds or more are "Frozen" and rendered immobile for 10 seconds. Applies "Brittle" to any targets frozen solid, doubling any melee damage they take until they are unfrozen.

Frost Armor

"Together, we're unstoppable!"

- Cost: 30% Max Mana

- Can only be used while Contract Beast: Heljä is invoked

+ The targeted Contract Beast gains enchanted ice armor, increasing melee damage by 40% and reducing magic damage by 20%. Any enemy that inflicts melee damage has a 10% chance of being "Frozen" for 2 seconds. Any enemy that inflicts ranged damage has a 10% chance of being "Chilled" for 5 seconds, increasing the recharge rate of all skills by 40% while it lasts.

[spoiler=Heljä]WuYp2p0.png

A massive, sentient female polar bear originally from the Glacier Islands, Heljä is the only Contract Beast Chloé has managed to tame so far. Approximately 450 lbs in weight, 4.5 feet in height and 6.5 feet in length, her size and strength coupled with her sharp claws and teeth make her a formidable force. In combat, Heljä is the source of virtually all of Chloé's damage, rampaging across the battlefield like a mighty avalanche, pulverizing most enemies unfortunate enough to cross her path. While not the swiftest or most agile of beasts, she can attain a top running speed of 25 mph, making it very difficult to escape from her once she's on the move. Her considerable defense, endurance, and high HP pool make for a powerful tank. On the other hand, she struggles to deal with fast-moving targets—particularly those that are airborne—or enemies that specialize in long-distance combat. While enhanced by Chloé's Beast Tamer Magic, she gains the ability to exhale ice breath that slows or even temporarily freezes her targets solid. Her ultimate skill, "Frost Armor," increases her offensive ability and allows her to function as a wall-breaker capable of destroying most obstacles.

An important aspect of Beast Tamer Magic is that it draws its potency from the Tamer and the Contract Beast, providing different advantages for each of them. In Heljä's case, her magical contract with Chloé has granted her the power of speech, allowing her to freely express herself and interact with all types of beings, rather than just her own kind. Fierce, stubborn, and sharp-tongued, Heljä's personality contrasts that of her soft-spoken, gentle mistress. Nevertheless, the two are extremely close and view their relationship as a partnership grounded in friendship and trust.

Name: Chloé Marie Després

Gender: Female

Age: 16

[spoiler=Biography]Born into a wealthy French-Canadian family in Montréal, Québec, Chloé was diagnosed at an early age with an extremely rare degenerative muscular disease. By the time she was eight years old, the muscles in her legs had broken down completely, leaving her effectively paralyzed from the waist-down and confined to her bed for the rest of her life. Despite this, Chloé remained positive, claiming that she could still accomplish her dreams with rehabilitation therapy and crutches. Over the next few years, her parents hired several expert medical teams in an attempt to reverse the illness, to no avail. The experts offered a grim prognosis, predicting that the disease would eventually spread through the rest of her body, shutting down most of her muscular systems until she was completely paralyzed. Chloé's only comfort was her older brother Antoine, who visited her regularly and did his best to bring the outside world to the sick girl, promising to take her one day to see the northern lights. When he offered her the chance to walk again in Bluefire's virtual reality world, she leaped at the opportunity. Figuratively speaking, of course. Now that Antoine has gone missing, however, Chloé feels she is being punished for her selfishness and wishes only for her brother to return.

[spoiler=Trivia]• As a result of her French-Canadian upbringing, Chloé speaks fluent English and French.

• She is also extremely well-read and musically gifted for her young age, having had little else to occupy her time over the last few years.

• Her unusual way of wielding her silk ribbon whip is based on rhythmic gymnastics.

ycm is f***ing stupid here's my app on a gdoc instead because f***

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1h16EvTTr2CJE6FZQUJYvrlQQc9FVUDtORylVRCtlHDc/edit?usp=sharing

I kind of got the impression from this that Slime was always present from the app, but that's not how the Beast Master works. It takes Mana to Summon and maintain their creature's presence. Albeit a small amount, but their contracts can't always be around, the mana cost would just be too high. Idk if I was interpreting the app right or not, but just an important note
