Wilonka

A wacky, funtimes archetype based on the various Wonka candies. They essentially work the way that the Gadjiltron monsters were supposed to, being a Monarch-esque Tribute Summon archetype, whose effects change depending on which archetype member was Tributed. However, unlike Gadjiltron, Wilonka monsters themselves hand over specific effects when Tributed for an archetypal Tribute Summon, and the granted effects range from simple removal or stat-boost effects to turning the Tribute Summoned monster into REDMD, Seraphinite, or even a Towers clone. To boot, they're surprisingly consistent for a Tribute Summon archetype, featuring a Field Spell that searches on NS and comes packing Geartown's float effect, most of the lower Level monsters building field presence with startling efficiency by borrowing the effects of cards like Edge-Imp Sabres, Junk Synchron, Treeborn Frog, and the new Gadgets . . . And the big monsters are no slouches either, having solid stat lines and pretty powerful effects of their own. Their most powerful monsters go up to Level 10, with optional-tri-Tribute abilities along the lines of Beast King Barbaros and Gilford the Lightning. This actually makes playing them a game of very strategic decisions, deciding which effects you want each of your bosses to have and trying to set up the right monsters to toss out. Their backrow support is . . . lacking, however, and don't even bother asking about ED options- their Levels are staggered and awkward for Synchro or Xyz plays, and there isn't a Tuner to their name.

 

 

 

Oh boy, here we go.

 

This is a pretty difficult thing to figure out, so I'm going to be doing this in chunks. Notably, I'm having a hard time figuring out which effects go where in the Tribute hierarchy, so I'm just going to let this "starter pack" of Wilonka carry my proof of concept. CnC appreciated, suggestions welcomed, yada yada yada et cetera.

Wilonka Sugar Bit

LIGHT - Level 1 - Rock/Effect - 100/100

When this monster is Normal Summoned, you can add 1 Level 3 or lower "Wilonka" monster from your Deck to your hand, except "Wilonka Sugar Bit". During your Main Phase 1, if you do not control a face-up "Wilonka Sugar Bit", you can Special Summon this monster from your Graveyard (You can only Special Summon 1 "Wilonka Sugar Bit" per turn this way). A "Wilonka" monster Tribute Summoned by Tributing this monster gains the following effect:

●This monster cannot be destroyed by battle.

 

Wilonka Cherry Bit

LIGHT - Level 1 - Rock/Effect - 300/200

If your opponent would declare a direct attack, you can Special Summon this monster from your hand to negate that attack. If your opponent Special Summons a monster(s), you can Special Summon this monster from your Graveyard: You take no battle damage this turn. If this monster is Special Summoned this way, banish this card when it leaves the field. A "Wilonka" monster Tribute Summoned by Tributing this monster gains the following effect:

●Your opponent cannot target "Wilonka" monsters you control for attacks, except this monster.

 

Wilonka Apple Bit

LIGHT - Level 1 - Rock/Effect - 0/0

If you control as many or fewer monsters than your opponent, you can Special Summon this monster from your hand. If you control no monsters, you can Special Summon this monster from your Graveyard (you can only activate this effect of "Wilonka Apple Bit" once per turn). If this monster is Special Summoned, you can Special Summon 1 Level 3 or lower "Wilonka" monster from your Graveyard with its effects negated. A "Wilonka" monster Tribute Summoned by Tributing this monster gains the following effect:

●Once per turn, you can destroy the face-up monster your opponent controls with the lowest ATK, and if you do, this monster gains ATK equal to the destroyed monster's ATK until the end of the turn.

A monster can only gain this effect once this way.

 

Wilonka Grape Bit

LIGHT - Level 1 - Rock/Effect - 100/0

When you Normal or Special Summon a "Wilonka" monster, you can Special Summon this monster from your Graveyard. During the turn this monster is Normal Summoned, you gain 1 additional Tribute Summon, but you must Tribute this face-up monster for that Summon (You can only gain this effect of "Wilonka Grape Bit" once per turn). A "Wilonka" monster Tribute Summoned by Tributing this monster gains the following effect:

●If this monster destroys your opponent's monster by battle, increase your Life Points by the ATK or DEF of the destroyed monster (whichever is higher).

 

Wilonka Berry Bit

LIGHT - Level 1 - Rock/Effect - 50/50

If you would take damage, you can Special Summon this monster from your hand: That damage is reduced to 0. If a "Wilonka" monster you control, except "Wilonka Berry Bit", is destroyed or Tributed, you can Special Summon this monster from your Graveyard. A "Wilonka" monster Tribute Summoned by Tributing this monster gains the following effect:

●If this monster destroys your opponent's monster by battle, increase this monster's ATK by the destroyed monster's ATK.

 

Wilonka Mystery Bit

LIGHT - Level 2 - Rock/Effect - 1000/100

If this face-up monster is destroyed, you can Special Summon 1 Level 2 or lower "Wilonka" monster from your Deck. You can banish this card from your Graveyard to Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower "Wilonka" monster from your Deck in face-up Defense Position (You can only activate this effect of "Wilonka Mystery Bit" once per turn). A "Wilonka" monster Tribute Summoned by Tributing this monster gains the following effect:

●This monster gains 300 ATK and DEF for every "Wilonka" monster you control.

 

Wilonka Fused Bit

LIGHT - Level 2 - Rock/Effect - 400/300

You can Special Summon this monster from your Graveyard, and if you do, take 800 damage (you can only activate this effect of "Wilonka Fused Bit" once per turn). If this monster is destroyed, you can Special Summon 2 Level 1 "Wilonka" monsters from your Graveyard. A "Wilonka" monster Tribute Summoned by Tributing this monster gains the following effect:

●If a "Wilonka" monster you control attacks, increase its ATK by 100 times its Level.

 

Wilonka Sweet Jawbreaker

LIGHT - Level 3 - Rock/Effect - 1200/800

When this monster is Normal Summoned, you can Special Summon 1 Level 3 or lower "Wilonka" monster from your Graveyard in face-up Defense Position. A "Wilonka" monster Tribute Summoned by Tributing this monster gains the following effect:

●When a "Wilonka" monster is Tribute Summoned, you can target 1 face-up monster your opponent controls: Banish that target.

 

Wilonka Sour Jawbreaker

LIGHT - Level 3 - Rock/Effect - 1000/1000

You can Special Summon this monster from your Graveyard by returning 1 card in your hand to the top of your Deck. A "Wilonka" monster Tribute Summoned by Tributing this monster gains the following effect:

●If this monster destroys your opponent's monster by battle, you can target 1 card on the field: Destroy that target.

 

Wilonka Oversized Jawbreaker

LIGHT - Level 3 - Rock/Effect - 0/1900

When you Normal Summon a "Wilonka" monster, you can Special Summon this monster from your Graveyard. A "Wilonka" monster Tribute Summoned by Tributing this monster gains the following effect:

●When this monster is Tribute Summoned, your opponent must return 1 card from their hand, and 1 card they control and own, to the top of their Deck.

 

Wilonka Bitter Taffy

LIGHT - Level 4 - Rock/Effect - 1500/1500

When this monster is Normal or Special Summoned, you can Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower "Wilonka" monster from your hand, except "Wilonka Bitter Taffy" (You can only activate this effect of "Wilonka Bitter Taffy" once per turn). If this monster is sent from the field to the Graveyard, you can add 1 "Wilonka" monster from your Deck to your hand. A "Wilonka" monster Tribute Summoned by Tributing this monster gains the following effect:

●This monster cannot be Tributed, except for the Tribute Summon of a "Wilonka" monster.

 

Wilonka Stretched Taffy

LIGHT - Level 4 - Rock/Effect - 1000/1700

When this monster is Normal or Special Summoned, you can add 1 "Wilonka" monster from your Deck to your hand, except "Wilonka Stretched Taffy". A "Wilonka" monster Tribute Summoned by Tributing this monster gains the following effect:

●Cannot be targeted by your opponent's card effects.

 

Wilonka Bit Box

LIGHT - Level 5 - Rock/Effect - 2100/2000

When this monster is Normal or Special Summoned, you can Special Summon 1 Level 1 "Wilonka" monster from your hand or Deck. A "Wilonka" monster Tribute Summoned by Tributing this monster gains the following effect:

●If this monster battles, your opponent cannot activate cards or effects until the end of the Damage Step.

 

Wilonka Dipping Stick

LIGHT - Level 6 - Rock/Effect - 2300/1600

When this monster is Tribute Summoned, you can add 1 "Wilonka" card from your Deck or Graveyard to your hand. A "Wilonka" monster Tribute Summoned by Tributing this monster gains the following effect:

●You can Normal Summon/Set 1 "Wilonka" monster per turn, in addition to your Normal Summon/Set.

 

Wilonka Sweet Powder

LIGHT - Level 6 - Rock/Effect - 2500/1000

If this Tribute Summoned monster leaves the field, you can Special Summon the monster Tributed for its Tribute Summon from your Graveyard, and if you do, that monster cannot be destroyed by battle or card effects this turn. A "Wilonka" monster Tribute Summoned by Tributing this monster gains the following effect:

●This monster gains 1 additional attack per Battle Phase.

 

Wilonka Bit Chimera

LIGHT - Level 7 - Rock/Effect - 2600/1200

When this monster is Tribute Summoned, decrease the ATK and DEF of all monsters your opponent controls by 600. If this monster destroys your opponent's monster by battle, you can draw 1 card. A "Wilonka" monster Tribute Summoned by Tributing this monster gains the following effect:

●Once per turn, you can Special Summon 1 "Wilonka" monster from your hand or Graveyard.

 

Wilonka Massive Taffy

LIGHT - Level 7 - Rock/Effect - 2800/1000

All "Wilonka" monsters you control gain 200 ATK for each "Wilonka" monster you control. A monster destroyed by battle with this monster is banished. A "Wilonka" monster Tribute Summoned by Tributing this monster gains the following effect:

●When this monster is Tribute Summoned, you can banish a number of cards on the field up to the number of monsters Tributed for this monster's Summon.

 

Wilonka Bit Serpent

LIGHT - Level 8 - Rock/Effect - 3000/2000

When this monster is Tribute Summoned, you can target up to 3 "Wilonka" cards of different names in your Graveyard: Add that target(s) to your hand. If this monster battles your opponent's Special Summoned monster, the opposing monster's ATK is halved. A "Wilonka" monster Tribute Summoned by Tributing this monster gains the following effect:

●Once per turn, if your opponent would activate a card or effect, you can negate that effect, and if you do, destroy that card.

A monster can only gain this effect once this way.

 

Wilonka Multi-Box

LIGHT - Level 9 - Rock/Effect - 3200/3000

You can Tribute Summon this monster with 3 Tributes, and if you do, destroy all monsters your opponent controls. This monster gains ATK equal to half the combined original ATK of all Level 8 or lower "Wilonka" monsters you control. A "Wilonka" monster Tribute Summoned by Tributing this monster gains the following effect:

●This monster is unaffected by your opponent's Spell/Trap Cards and their effects.

 

Wilonka Assortment Golem

LIGHT - Level 9 - Rock/Effect - 3400/2600

You can Tribute Summon this monster with 3 Tributes, and if you do, destroy all Spell/Trap Cards your opponent controls. If this monster destroys your opponent's monster by battle, inflict damage to your opponent equal to the higher of its original ATK or DEF. A "Wilonka" monster Tribute Summoned by Tributing this monster gains the following effect:

●This monster is unaffected by, and cannot be targeted by your opponent's monster effects, except monsters whose Level/Rank is higher than this monster's.

 

Wilonka Candy Chimera Dragon

LIGHT - Level 10 - Rock/Effect - 4000/3200

Cannot be Special Summoned. You can use 3 monsters for this monster's Tribute Summon, and if you do, your opponent must discard their hand, then both players draw cards equal to the number of cards discarded (you can only use this effect of "Wilonka Candy Chimera Dragon" once per turn). Your opponent's Special Summoned monsters lose 1000 ATK and DEF. A "Wilonka" monster Tribute Summoned by Tributing this monster gains the following effects:

●This monster inflicts piercing Battle Damage. Damage your opponent takes from battles involving this monster and a monster they control is doubled.

Wilonka Factory

Field Spell

If you would Normal Summon a "Wilonka" monster, you can reduce its Level in your hand by 2. If your opponent did not Normal Summon by the end of their their 1st Main Phase, you can Normal Summon 1 "Wilonka" monster during your opponent's turn, and if you do, your opponent cannot Normal Summon this turn. If this card is destroyed, you can Special Summon 1 "Wilonka" monster from your Deck.

 

Rushed Wilonka Production

Quick-Play Spell

If you would Tribute Summon a monster this turn, you can Tribute 1 "Wilonka" monster from your hand. You can only activate 1 "Rushed Wilonka Production" per turn.

 

Wilonka Supply Load

Quick-Play Spell

For the rest of the turn, if a "Wilonka" monster is Tributed, or if you Tribute Summon a "Wilonka" monster, draw 1 card. You can only activate 1 "Wilonka Supply Load" per turn. During the turn you activate this card, you cannot Special Summon monsters, except "Wilonka" monsters.

 

Wilonka Sugar Recycling

Continuous Spell

You can pay 1000 Life Points to Tribute Summon a monster by banishing a number of "Wilonka" monsters from your Graveyard equal to the number of required Tributes (these monsters are still treated as having been Tributed). You can only activate this effect of "Wilonka Sugar Recycling" once per turn.

 

Wilonka Reclamation

Continuous Trap

Monsters Special Summoned from the Extra Deck have their effects negated during the turn they are Summoned, also they must be Summoned in Defense Position. If a "Wilonka" monster destroys your opponent's Special Summoned monster by battle, you can draw 1 card, and if that card is a "Wilonka" card, you can Special Summon 1 "Wilonka" monster from your hand. If this face-up card is destroyed, you can add 1 "Wilonka" monster from your Deck or Graveyard to your hand.
