[CHQ] Night in the Library

The library wasn't too far from Cherry Heart's guild, only about a ten minute walk. So the group wasn't sent out until about sundown, which was when the library closed. Upon arrival, they could see the building in its full library glory. It was a three story tall building, but it was made to look like a large house, perhaps to make people feel at home.

When the group entered, they could see an empty front desk, and behind it, nothing but rows and rows of bookshelves, stocked to the brim with books. In the front of the row, they could see a sign that read "Non-fiction". It was quiet, but not an eerie sort of quiet, moreso a relaxing one. After a few minutes, a short blond haired woman emerged from the books and walked to them, bowing.

"H-hello," she said before she sat up, pushing up her glasses. "I'm Ali. You must be Cherry Heart, right?" She asked with a smile. "Thank you for coming," she then motioned for them to follow her, leading them deeper into the books. She soon stopped in front of a table, covered in snacks and drinks for them.

"A-as I'm sure the request stated," She said with a shy smile, "There has been a thief that has been breaking in after hours and stealing books. For what, we don't know... But... Please stop them from doing this!" She pleaded. "A-ah, just in case you all are unfamiliar with the layout, this floor is the non-fiction section... The one above us is the fiction/children's books, and the third floor as the books on Magic," she then paused, placing a book titled 'A Difficult Book' back on the shelves. "In the basement... There are the really old books," she looked over to them and smiled. "Well, good luck to you all!" With that, she walked out, headed to the door and locking them in.

The odds of the thief striking right after closing time seemed slim. The group would noticed that it was so silent in the library they could probably hear a mouse scurrying through the walls. What they did in their free time was up to them.

Truthfully, Deku wasn't too thrilled of having to wait in a library just to catch a thief. What was worse was that he pretty much had to be careful when striking back at the thief with his Martyr Magic. After all, the well being of the books here were also part of the mission. Nevertheless, he was paired with two guild members, a guy with glasses and the other was a lizard girl...at least from what he could tell.

Regardless, Ali, the blonde haired woman who was working in this library brought them in and began to speak.

"A-as I'm sure the request stated, there has been a thief that has been breaking in after hours and stealing books. For what, we don't know... But... Please stop them from doing this! A-ah, just in case you all are unfamiliar with the layout, this floor is the non-fiction section... The one above us is the fiction/children's books, and the third floor as the books on Magic. In the basement... There are the really old books. Well, good luck to you all!"

And with that, Ali left and locked them in. Deku rubbed the back of his head before eyeing the table with an assortment of small snacking foods and drinks. He moved over and grabbed some before slowly munching on some of it. Hmm...well guess could start looking around...buuuuut on the other hand, could start talkin' with these two. he thought, taking a sip from the cup he grabbed.

With a shrug, Deku cleared his throat. "So I guess maybe someone should break the ice. I'm Deku, Deku Shinobu." he said with a small smile. "What about you two?"

Well at least it wasn't far away. Kasayee knew she picked the right quest by how fast they reached the library. It was a building much farther from nature than the guild and looking at it Kasayee couldn't feel less at home. Her companions seemed to be a rather normal looking human male and another who looked almost as normal except with glass in front of his face.

She wasn't sure what to expect. She could sense spirits, not magic, so she had no idea what they could do. Of course she assumed she didn't need to. Catching a thief who was stealing from a library likely wouldn't require that much effort right?

In either case as they stepped inside Kasayee could smell the books. It wasn't a horrible smell but it was also so very...inorganic. Books were made from trees but trees that were twisted in a way that they no longer could be considered alive anymore. It was, in all honestly, disturbing. But it was a lesser of the crimes against nature people have committed.

It turned out that the thief was indeed stealing books. What a strange thing to do. Perhaps it had to do with the mysterious basement the nervous girl talked about. Her instincts told her that would be the place to look if it came down to it.

But first. Free food must not be passed up. She ate already but not much and, while she didn't need much, perhaps a bit would be good to keep her energy up.

"So I guess maybe someone should break the ice. I'm Deku, Deku Shinobu." he said with a small smile. "What about you two?"

This Deku had a similar idea but it seemed he wanted to talk. Introductions, again? And what ice were they breaking? "I'm...here to complete this quest." She said, eating some of the food without explaining more. "I am going to look around." she said without any additional information. She had heard a mouse moving around and decided that would be a good place to start.

Before the duo's eyes she transformed into her lizard form and scurried off, locating the mouse as quick as she could and getting it into a position it wouldn't run right away. "I need information." She said, in her animal-tongue, to the mouse. Her magic would allow the mouse to understand her intent. "Where has the intruder been coming in from overnight?"

The trio of new guild mates had managed to make it to the library in no time at all.  It was rather convenient that the place wasn't so far away from the actual guild house.  Among his new found cohorts were a young man, and a reptilian girl.  Dmitri really couldn't help but study the girl's physique from a safe distance, as her species wasn't a common occurrence from where he had originated.  Though he didn't want to seem too upfront, he made sure to take down notes about the girl's behaviors.

A book thief?!  The fiend!

"He should've just signed up for a library card!  Truly we are up against the most villainous scum that Arbolia has to offer!"  He pushed up the glasses that had fallen down his nose back up to their original position, a look of determination scrunched his face.  If one looked closely, they could see faint hints of tears at the creases of his eyes.

"So I guess maybe someone should break the ice. I'm Deku, Deku Shinobu." he said with a small smile. "What about you two?"

Dmitri had not heard this, as he was contemplating the motives of the book assailant.  Off in his own little world, Dmitri started to devise a basic formula that would prompt such criminal action.  He smacked a fist in the middle of his palm.

"Eureka!  This thief must be after a book of importance contained in the magic section, or the basement!  Such intrigue, no doubt something valuable is hidden betwixt the leather bindings parading on the shelves.  Well no ne'er do well shall stir in the shadows among the comrades of my future works of literature!  I will have no such thing!"  Dmitri noticed that he had ranted on without giving a single thought to the opinions of his teammates.  When he turned back to face them, a lizard scurried off into the woodwork while the other boy sat eating the free snacks.

"Oh dear...I seem to have gotten lost in thought."  It was as if the boy's question finally registered in his head, after all his other thoughts had spewed forth from their chamber.  "Salutations Deku Shinobu.  My name is Geo Dmitri Newton, but you can call me Professo-I-I mean Dmitri.  You may call me Dmitri."  He looked towards the floors above them and bit his lip.  "If I had to say so, It seems we must split up if we're to have a chance to find this book snatcher, wouldn't you agree?"

"I'm...here to complete this quest. I am going to look around."

Well obviously he wasn't getting anywhere with her. Deku sighed and noticed the other one was wrapped in his own thoughts. He only stood there, listening to the guy rant and rave, only seeing him act accordingly.

"Oh dear...I seem to have gotten lost in thought. Salutations Deku Shinobu. My name is Geo Dmitri Newton, but you can call me Professo-I-I mean Dmitri. You may call me Dmitri."

"Alright Dmitri." Deku said with a smile. "At least you sound more of a conversationalist than the other one...she just literally bolted to start the mission. No plan, no nothing." he shrugged before sliding his hands into his pockets.

"If I had to say so, it seems we must split up if we're to have a chance to find this book snatcher, wouldn't you agree?"

"Probably." Deku nodded. "Well, I can probably take the second floor. The girl on our team can probably take this floor...sooooo you'd probably get the third floor." he suggested, before moving up towards the stairs and smiled with a nod. "No worries on this mission, though. I'm sure we'll be able to knock this thief senseless and get them to stop stealing books...wow...I never thought I'd ever say something like that." He shook his head and made his way to the second floor.

The mouse loved the library.

It might be hard to imagine an animal, especially one as small and insignificant as a mouse loving the place it was, but it did. Especially when after its old home was taken over by a mouse that no one was allowed to question, unless their former friends and family turned against him, attempted to kill him, which caused him to flee. But he would grow to be stronger. He would stay in the safety of this library, train to be stronger, and go back a better person.

Unless he was eaten by the lizard standing in front of him. However, it didn't seem to want to eat him. Now, it instead asked a question.

"I need information. Where has the intruder been coming in from overnight?" The lizard asked. The mouse thought to itself before answering.

"It depends on which one you mean.... There's the one that lives in the basement, and one that seems to come through the ceiling....," he commented. Hopefully, he would live through this...

As Deku walked up the stairs, a loud crash could be heard from the basement. The dark, dark basement. The one with no lights, and yet if they went down there, they would see a small dim glow on the far side of the basement.

That basement.

"It depends on which one you mean.... There's the one that lives in the basement, and one that seems to come through the ceiling....,"

Kasayee considered the possibility the mouse was confused. After all there was no telling if it actually understood the concept of intruders. But if what they said was accurate then there might be two thieves to catch.

That being the case she would not be going to the basement; despite the sound coming from that direction. If a sound was made then the others would be able to hear it too. If they weren't competent enough to handle it on their own then they wouldn't complete the mission. Simple as that.

"Thank you." She said to the mouse before scurrying through whatever crack she could find to the outside of the library. Once outside she transformed again. This time into her bird form. She soared high into the sky and made her way to the roof, where she would transform back into a lizard and begin searching for any signs of where someone might, or may already have, break in. While doing such she continued to be on the lookout for any suspicious people lurking around.

If nothing else she found a nice place to rest.

I'm sure we'll be able to knock this thief senseless and get them to stop stealing books...wow...I never thought I'd ever say something like that."

The young man was sensible, and seemed to go along with his plan, seeing as he was heading up the stairs to go to the next level.

"Then by all means, I shall follow your lea-"  Just as he was about to conclude his statement, a loud crash could be heard coming from the lower level.  Dmitri flinched a tad, but regained his cool and pushed his glasses back up to the peak of his nose.  "Uhm...perhaps you would like to go check on that noise?  I would but...uhm...I should head to the highest level just in case that was just a diversion!"  Dmitri smiled as he passed Deku up on the stairs in a hurried fashion.  "Good luck with your endeavor!"  He shouted from behind.

On the second floor, it was a little darker.  Dmitri conjured a magic circle in his hand which then transmutated into a Diamond Prism that emanated it's own magical light.  He looked around for the next flight of stairs amongst all the corridors of books.  When he came across the next set of stairs, he was honestly surprised he found them in such a short amount of time.  He decided to head up to the third floor, the floor that contained all the books of magic.  He would make sure to keep an eye out for any interesting titles among the like.

Deku heard the noise from the basement too...and he really wished he had been running up the stairs to the second floor...

"Uhm...perhaps you would like to go check on that noise? I would but...uhm...I should head to the highest level just in case that was just a diversion! Good luck with your endeavor!"

In a blur, Dmitri passed him up the stairs and Deku just stood there in silence...a little flabbergasted. With a sigh of defeat, he decided to slowly walk back down the stairs and head towards the basement. He could only surmise that Dmitri didn't want to go down there because his talents were better suited in the above floors. But that still left the reptile girl...

"Jeez..." Deku muttered to himself. "First the girl blows the whole thing off to follow mice...and then Dmitri pretty much suggesting for me to go down here." he rubbed the back of his neck before sighing. "Let's just hope it was just a mouse or a rat knocking stuff over...that way I can get back up to the library."

As the girl in lizard form scurried across the roof, there was a small part of the roof that felt... Odd. It felt different from the rest of the roof, but it didn't look any different from the rest of it. Even odder was... The group of birds that gathered on the roof. A bunch of them gathered into a square perimeter, where inside it, there were two birds, one really large and the other really small. The two seemed to be fighting, standing on their legs and using their wings like arms and fists while the others cheered them on, names like, Super Macho Bird and Little Sparrow were being thrown around.

Soon, the little bird threw a massive uppercut, knocking out the big bird. A fatter bird came over and hugged the little bird before pecking at some chocolate.

Besides that, nothing seemed to happen on the rooftops.

The basement was quiet, but that eerie light was still there. The light illuminated what made the noise, a pile of fallen books, however... There as no place for the light source to come from. No windows, no candles, nothing. It just... Was.

If Deku got closer, he would see that the light source... Seemed to be a person. It was a middle-age woman, who was somehow transparent, and yet he could clearly see details of her. Her white hair, her glasses, and the dress she wore. He could also see she was floating off the ground. What was she...?

As Dmitri walked through the books, he could see titles like "A REALLY Difficult Book", "Sunset", "Fifty Shades of White", "Magic: A Theory of Origins and Applications", and "The Very Hungry Snake". Someone must have mixed up the books. Finally, as he walked to the back, he could see two paintings of two old men hanging side by side. It was quiet up here...

Until the eyes of the paintings looked over directly at Dmitri.

"Oh look, another person breaking into the library," the one on the left said.

"What a nerd," the one on the right stated. "They should take him downtown for booking," with that bad pun, the two began to laugh.

"Dark...dank...great, the ideal basement..." Deku grumbled, looking around only to see nothing but darkness...except for a little eerie light. At this point, some red lights and red flags were going off in his head, but maybe it was a lantern the librarian or one of the workers forgot. He was being optimistic, didn't have to be anything weird.

Slowly approaching the light, seeing that a pile of books had fallen down...nothing around it. However, right now, Deku's attention was directed towards the light...which at this point was making him uneasy. There was no lantern. No lantern, no candle, no window...nothing. The light was just there...existing on its own accord. Gulping, the young man slowly inched a bit closer...though he'd wish he didn't.

The light source he saw, was a person...a transparent middle-aged woman with white hair, glasses and wearing a dress.....annnnnnnd she was floating. Floating.... Fllllllooooooaaaaaating....

"Oh...HELL NO!!" Deku shouted a bit, quickly moving back in a hurry, only to trip over a few piles of books. This, of course, resulted in him falling on the ground. "Nope! Nope! NOPE! Screeeeeew this!" he muttered in a quick fashion to himself. "Thieves I can handle...monsters, maybe...but ghosts?! HEEEEEEEEELL to the no!!" Trying to get up, Deku did what he could to try and make it back to the stairs, however he only ended up tripping multiple times over piles of books...stupid dark basement.

Kasayee idly watched the birds as they had their intense showdown. Perhaps the birds of this area had strange mating rituals? She had noticed that birds have a tendency to act strange when not in view of humanoid creatures. She had even heard a few of them speak in the human tongue at times. Though that was only when she was hidden in the shadows.

In either case Kasayee was tempted to transform into a bird to show them what for but she wasn't particularly interested in finding a mate at this time. Instead she decided to focus on the odd feeling part of the roof. Prodding it with her lizard-foot, she tried to move it aside, or push it in, or slip inside, to see if it did anything other than what one would normally expect out of your friendly neighborhood rooftop.

If nothing came from that she would try to ask the little bird if they ever saw anyone coming into the library at night through the roof and where, but she didn't want to ruin their victorious moment so quickly.

As Dmitri looked along the shelves, he noticed these books had fairly odd names for being placed in the magic section.  These books were definitely not where they were supposed to belong.

"Does no one have respect for the Dewey Decimal System these days?!"  Dmitri shouted in protest.  However, his eyes flared up as soon as they read the title 'Fifty Shades of White'.  His face turned bright red, as he dashed towards it to caress the spine.  Was this the ultimate erotica that he had been seeking for so long?  As he gently removed the book from it's slot on the shelf, a voice made him jump away from it.

"Oh look, another person breaking into the library."

Dmitri turned around to see a painting of two old men.  It looked as if their skin was made of felt.

"What a nerd," the one on the right stated. "They should take him downtown for booking."

"That pun is the only thing that's criminal around here!  You two should be ashamed."  He was arguing with a painting.  If this wasn't an indication that he had stepped into the world of magic guilds, then he didn't know what would be.  He tilted his head when he remembered what one of the geezers had said.  "You said there was another person breaking into the library, correct?  Well...what did they look like, and what book were they looking for?"

The ghost looked up as Deku tripped on the ground. She. She saw him, she suddenly began to transmutate, going from a tiny middle aged woman to a giant monstrosity, her mouth expanding and her hair growing long and stringy.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN THE LIBRARY AFTER HOURS?!" She screeched so loudly the glass around Deku began to shatter. She then vomited glowing liquid at the poor Mage.

"That pun is the only thing that's criminal around here!  You two should be ashamed. You said there was another person breaking into the library, correct?  Well...what did they look like, and what book were they looking for?"

"Well... If I remember correctly...," the one on the left said as he looked up to the sky, like the ceiling had the answer. "They wore a cloak that covered their entire body. They were really short as far as I could tell," he thought to himself some more. "I think they were taking several books out of the library,"

"They were really jumpy to," the one on the right stated. "I'd say the books have more spine then they did,"

"They really should take a page from them," the one on the left said again, before the two began to laugh again.

The part of the roof Kaysee prodded wouldn't budge, no matter what she did. However, something she could tell from prodding it so much was that it was not the same material as the rest of the roof. While the roof was made of tiles and things a roof would be made of, this felt like pure concentrated magic. It seemed its purpose was to look like part of the roof and keep out the rain while being easy for the thief to remove.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN THE LIBRARY AFTER HOURS?!"

Deku was at a loss for words, and almost a loss of food as he was struck with this glowing liquid this ghost vomited on him. It almost made him want to vomit himself, but he backed up and quickly got up. "OH DOUBLE HELL NO!!" he shouted, moving away from this ghostly apparition. And right now his options were two different paths: option 1, he could try and strike at the ghost, maybe throw a few books or something...though she was pretty hard to hit...so that left  option 2, run...like....hell!!

"F*ck this sheet, I'm out!!" Deku shouted, moving towards the stairs, before an orange Magic Seal appeared under his feet. "Reflector Burst!!!" he shouted, before running at a quicker rate than he did before. Thankfully he had gotten into a scrap the other day which gave him enough energy to store and use.

He made it up quite a bit of stairs in a short amount of time, but eventually was halted as he slipped and fell. Deku grumbled a bit, seeing slipped on the glowing liquid the ghost ended up vomiting on him and that he was at least in the middle of the stair way. "Sweet gods...n-no pay...no pay is worth this sheet!!" he grumbled, still trying to make his way up the stairs.

While, unbeknownst to her, Deku was being puked on by ghosts and Dmitri was talking to pun portraits, Kasayee was coming to a realization. She had actually managed to find the thief's way in. He must have had some kind of barrier-like magic or something similar to create such a thing.

Unfortunately she had no idea how to remove magic just like that and didn't think it would be worth the hassle to transform and brute force it. All she'd need to do now was wait for the thief to come and ambush him.

In the meantime she decided to talk to the little bird. "I suppose you're the alpha around here now? Have you noticed anyone coming into the building through that spot right over there? When do they appear, and what are they like?"

It was more than she normally said but something about the bird was just so approachable. Perhaps she was just impressed. In either case, even if the bird knew nothing, she would wait around and keep watch on the area up here. Let the others play with the paper and words if that was their desire. She saw no need to return to the library now that she discovered this secret.

"Thank you for the information...I'll leave you to your....comedy?"

Geo painfully pinched his brow at the onslaught of puns he was at the receiving end of.  Maybe he could turn the painting in, instead of the actual culprit...it would spare many people of the same fate that he had experienced.  Geo then looked towards the roof of the Library, where the one geezer's attention had been held onto for so long.  Were they perhaps descending from the rooftops as they spoke?

Without much hesitation, Dmitri conjured a multitude of small cube prisms, about the size of a single die.  He then proceeded to walk along the rows of shelves, letting the cubes hover in the air.  If any of them were to spin, or be disrupted in anyway, a small pop would ring off.  It would be the perfect alarm to catch the thief.  Now all he had to do was wait.

As Deku attempted to climb up the stairs, he could hear a screeching. If he looked behind his shoulder, he would see the ghost crawling up the stairs, reaching for him and screeching up a storm. However, the moment he crossed over the door's threshold and shut it, the ghost stopped pursuing him. Deku was safe for now.

"Thank you for the information...I'll leave you to your....comedy?"

"You're welcome young man. Come visit us sometime. We know where all the good books are," The one on the left said, waving to Dmitri.

"Yeah, you could call us the table of contents of the library," The one on the right commented. "Have fun with your plans,"

The library was quiet after that. However, the slimed covered boy below may soon come up soon to disrupt Dmitri's cubes.

"I suppose you're the alpha around here now? Have you noticed anyone coming into the building through that spot right over there? When do they appear, and what are they like?" The smallest bird turned to the newcomer, a lizard. Before he could answer though, the fat one put a... wing(?)... around the small bird's... shoulder...(?) before exclaiming.

"You could say Mac here is indeed the alpha. With that fight, Mac is the new champ of the WBBA!" The larger one said, the voice sounding like a jolly older man. Mac slipped away from the older bird before hopping over to the spot that Kaysee pointed out.

"... Yea," He said simply. "They come about a few hours after sunset... should be in about... 10 minutes, if we're lucky,"

Deku laid on the ground, sprawled out and covered in he didn't even want to know what, gasping for air. Thankfully once he crossed the threshold, the ghost didn't follow him. He was incredibly thankful for that, as he unzipped his hoodie and shook it off a little on the ground, careful not to get any of this ecto crap on the books.

"Looking back at it...should've dealt with that childish cookie mission..." he grumbled, putting his hoodie back on before standing up. He needed to get back to seeing the others...maybe they had more luck...and less ghosts.

Deku slowly climbed up the stairs to the next level of the library, clinging to the railing as tightly as he could, trying his best not to fall. Though as he made his way on the floor he left to Dmitri, he didn't realize it...but he was running into small die sized prisms...but at the same time, he didn't exactly notice anyway, due to his whole ordeal. Though as he walked, he did hear a bit of popping sounds...

"What the heck is that noise?" Deku murmured.

It seemed the birds of this area were more organized than most. This was curious to the young druid. Most birds she had talked to before were much more, as the saying went, birdbrained; unable to come up with any kind of organization. Perhaps she should talk with more of the birds later.

Then again they might try to rope her into helping organize things and she didn't particularly feel like doing that.

"They come about a few hours after sunset... should be in about... 10 minutes, if we're lucky,"

"Thank you." She said. That made things easy, then. She would move near to the strange spot and wait. Still looking like a lizard, and a small one at that, it would be quite difficult for anyone to notice anything particularly wrong. However when this thief came she'd be ready to transform and pounce.

Now all she had to do was not drift off.

As Dmitri turned away from the duo stuck in a portrait, he returned the wave with a cheery smile.  Now it was back to the task at hand, after that short intermission.  All that he had gathered was the fact that there was indeed someone breaking into the library, but their identity still remained hidden.  Furthermore, his prisms hadn't detected any disruptions since he stepped away from them.  Was it an indication that they weren't currently on this floor?  Or was the perpetrator smart enough to not fall for such a novice maneuver.

Whichever the case, Dmitri would wait again, unwary of how the other two might be handling their own situations.  He would turn to the nearest shelf, and start to read the backs, yet again.

"This Library doesn't seem worth stealing from in all honesty...maybe the other two are having better luck."

Over the next hour or so, the sun had finally set. It was all quiet in the library... The ghost down below was now calm, the two paintings had quiet down, and the birds had moved on. There was an eerie calm through out the building. It was as if it was the calm before the storm...

On the roof, Kaysee would be able to hear very light footsteps walking across the rooftop. A cloaked figure walked over to that special magic spot and began to mutter under their breath. When they finished, a section of the roof disappeared, opening a hole. They jumped down quickly, and began to rummage through the books, looking for a particular one.

Unfortunately for this cloaked stranger, the librarian had a surprise. A statue, one looking like a woman reading a book began to scream. "Oh my god, there is someone on the third floor. OH MY GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWD!!!" it was loud enough to be heard throughout the whole building. In response, the cloak figure began to chant another spell, and books flew off the walls, connecting together like Legos and making two book dogs. They waited for anyone to climb the stairs, before pouncing on anyone that dare to try to reach their master.

Kasayee had dozed off somewhat while waiting. There was quite the nice breeze going on up here. Wind was truly a marvelous thing. She had often wondered what it might be like to be wind. Able to go wherever. Obstacles not meaning much as you could just flow around them.

People could learn much from the wind, on further reflection. It goes on no matter the state of the world. A war could be going on. A baby could be born. And still it blows. It may disturb others at times but it's only natural. Those who truly were bothered by it would come up with something to block it out. But the wind goes on anyway; unfettered by those that would try and disrupt it.

She only realized that there was a figure moments before they jumped into the hole. Well that was very wind-like of them as it was. Perhaps she shouldn't stop them after all? They were only doing as they felt; like the wind she was admiring earlier.

Shrugging, as much as a lizard could shrug, Kasayee headed for the hole. She could at least put up some resistance. If only to appease the guild she had joined and make things easier on her in the long run.

She dove into the hole, transforming back into her normal form when she was right above the trespasser. If nothing stopped her there would be a naked girl, granted one different from a human in many key ways, crashing into the thief.

-The Punching Bag Wizard-

Deku did the best he could to keep going, unfortunately dragging ghost slime or whatever it was around the library floor he was on. Still walking through Dmitri's trap, not noticing where the popping noises were coming from still. He sighed as he leaned near the floor's railing, shaking his head.

"This is getting me no where..." he grumbled.

"Oh my god, there is someone on the third floor. OH MY GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWD!!!"

Deku perked up some, hearing this loud scream before smirking. "Finally! Something I can actually hit!!" he laughed before moving away from the railing and started running towards the scream. No ghosts or anything! Nothing....NOTHING...can make this worse!! he smirked, before reaching near the area where the scream originated.

"HEY!! Hands where I can see-" Deku reached the top of the stairs, only to be met in the face with a flying book. He held his face some, grumbling. "OW!!! What the-?" He stopped mid sentence, seeing the culprit, beeeeeeeehind two book dogs. He groaned greatly, hearing them snarl deeply.

"For the love of..." Deku grumbled, throwing his hands up. "Things I can ACTUALLY hit...and they happen to be made of the same things I'm NOT supposed to be breaking!!" He got finished saying this, and saw one of the dogs lunging towards him. "S-sheet!!!" he yelped, before jumping a bit and moving back down the stairs.

"Oh my god, there is someone on the third floor. OH MY GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWD!!!"

"It's like we didn't even need to go looking for the culprit...we had an alarm the whole time."  Dmitri pushed up his glasses, and started to, albeit hesitantly, make his way to the third floor.  "Would've been nice of the librarian to elaborate on that..."  On the way, he saw that Deku boy who had taken to the basement before.  How he got in front of Dmitri, he had no clue.  He was rushing as fast as magely possible!  He was stopped at the stairs, directly behind Deku, when he suddenly hurried back down the stairs.  Unfortunately, Dmitri did not move straight away, and was knocked back by his fellow guild member.  He took a slight tumbled down the stairs before stopping half way.

He was dazed, and slightly confused at what had made that boy so fretful.  Turning back, he could see a hodgepodge of books fly down the steps, chasing after Deku.

"Book it Deku!"  Dmitri cheered on.  The painting geezers would be proud of him.  With that dog book distracted, and his bones starting to ache from the fall, Dmitri started to head up the stairs once more.  However, he was greeted by the second amalgamation.  "This is a simple fix..."  Dmitri released his other prism constructs that littered the second floor.  He would need all the dimensions he needed for this.  With a magic circle appearing in his hands, Dmitri painted a triangle in the air with it.  Simultaneously as he did this, the same shape was painted on the ground below the creation.

"Prism Magic: Prism Prison,Triangular Pyramid!"  Light constructs poured out through the sides of the light painting of the floor, and began to enclose around the hound.  The goal would to entrap the beast without managing to destroy any books in the process.  A last resort, if the light prison was broken, it would detonate.  "Now where is your owner?"  He said, trying to scan the 3rd floor.
