All YCM rules and YCM roleplaying rules apply. No powerplaying, no godmodding, you should know this. I feel the powerplaying is ESPECIALLY relevant, I see people do this ALL the time in Pokemon RPs. Trust me, nobody wants to sit through a battle where every side takes eighty hits without fainting.  

 

Be fair. Battles in this RP are largely going to be the result of cooperation between you and your opponents, your Pichu won't take down a Golem, a Tyranitar, and a Dragonite just because you "believe in it." I'm here to manage the story and these battles will require you to get along to have planned out. I WILL step in if things get nasty, though. They are going to have that anime quality, though, so feel free to get creative.

 

This RP is a little different from most usual Pokemon RP, in that, while it will hold a lot of elements of the franchise we know and love, it is essentially a mystery roleplay at it's very core. You all are here to battle and test yourself against one another, but that is not all you can expect. Additionally, to dispense with the grindy aspect of Pokemon RPs, all Trainers here are at the competitive level, with fully established teams and skills. No need to use a ten-year old fresh out of Pallet Town with only a handful of Poekballs to his name. Additionally, this RP will be PG-16, not really to describe the mood of the RP as a whole, but to allow exploration of these things as the RP moves along. 

 

Only eight spots are currently available, and each roleplayer may submit one character only. I MAY increase this number to 16 if I get enough good apps to allow this, but we shall see. Being my first RP on the site, I don't want to reach too far. Additionally, I will be creating a Skype chat for all accepted members after apps close. 

 

Each Trainer character is limited to ten Pokemon at a maximum and must have a minimum of six. Additionally, each Pokemon may know only a maximum of four moves. Natures will be asked for in the application for each Pokemon. Please note that nature does not have the impact it does in the games, and is essentially shorthand for how the Pokemon usually acts.

 

Each Trainer is only allowed one pseudo-Legendary Pokemon (Dragonite, Tyranitar, Slamance, Metagross, Garchomp, Hydreigon, Goodra) and one Pokemon that is from a starter evolutionary line.

 

All Legendary Pokemon are BANNED. Without exception.

 

Roleplayers may have their Trainer capable of using Mega Evolution if they choose, but they are only allowed to have ONE Pokemon that is capable of Mega Evolving. To be clear, you are totally allowed to have multiple Pokemon that Mega Evolution is POSSIBLE for (such as owning an Ampharos, a Glalie, and a Venusaur on your team), but Trainers can only possess a Mega Stone for one of those Pokemon.

 

Your Mega Stone is the only held item your Pokemon may have.

You open the fancy envelope that you received in the mail, and pull out the black, gold-filigreed card from within. The gold upon the front makes out what looks vaguely like a dragon's claw.

 

You open it to read the words inside:

 

 

You recognize the name. Who doesn't in the world of pro Pokemon battling? Roderick Noble is one of the richest men on the planet. You name a tournament hosted within the last two decades, and he's likely been a sponsor. But he's never hosted a tournament all his own. This is big, and you know it would be foolish to not accept his invitation. Your career could see an enormous boost with just your participation in this tournament.

 

Within the information provided, you learn that Blackdragon Isle is located off the eastern shore of Sinnoh, several hours outside Sunnyshore City. The Island, more a series of islands than a single landmass, is so-called because of it's shape resembling a dragon's claw, represented on the cover of your invitation. Rumors have circulated that the island long ago was home to a cult, devoted to the worship of Legendary Pokemon Giratina. Supposedly they managed to call forth the great beast, and it's very presence caused the island to warp, twisting out on itself and breaking off the two smaller segments. The presence of several ruins around the island with many hidden chambers, filled with unanswered questions about the people who lived there, has only fueled the fire to this theory. 

 

Your information gives details on where you will be staying, where spectators will stay, various facilities across the island... but you can't help but notice your details give no mention of battle arenas, or the other two "claws" of Blackdragon Isle. Nevertheless, you pack your bags, ready for an adventure, and hopefully a boatload of prize money and prestige! Little do you know, you've signed up for something far greater than any mere tournament, and the directions it'll pull you one can only begin to guess.

A self-made man of Unovan origin, Roderick rose to fame early in life when he famously played Castelia City's stock market like a fiddle, making himself an immense fortune by the tender age of twenty-six. Now pushing sixty, his many investments in the fields of Pokemon battling and Pokemon supply production have made him one of the most celebrated philanthropists in the world. His passion being Pokemon battling, he has remarked sadly that he "lacks the skill for it," but he is still an enthusiastic supporter of the Pokemon Pro Leagues, with many a tournament owing their backing largely to him.

 

Blackdragon Isle-

Supposedly the home of a cult worshiping the legendary Giratina in ancient times long ago, the island lies off the coast of Eastern Sinnoh. It is the location of Roderick Noble's Advanced Tournament- whatever "Advanced" may mean for it's competitors...

 

Eva Vaccaro-

The personal assistant and secretary to Roderick Noble. No-nonsense and efficient, she serves as a stern counterweight to Noble's excitable and forgetful nature, and is in charge of managing all matters regarding the tournament and its competitors.

Personal assistants to the competitors of the Blackdragon Isle Advanced Tournament, they serve as anything from guides to room service to assist in the comfort of the competitors. [spoiler=Appearance:]He has taken every effort imaginable to appear as feminine as possible in order to avoid recognition, but Damian knows full well there's not much he can do about his height. At the moment, Damian stands at 178cm (5' 10") which, although fair for a young man of his caliber, is rather tall for the female counterpart. On top of that, he weighs in at 72kg (158lbs). One can tell, if they study hard enough and have keen observation, that Damian used to be a man before undergoing surgery to appear more as a woman, though his finer facial features help tremendously in pulling this off among the commoners. The black dress he wears almost appears to be Victorian in styling.
 

[spoiler=Personality:]Damian has gone through multiple aliases and molded separate personalities from all of them. He was timid and submissive pre-alias, arrogant as Ariel, a kind sweetheart as Kassidy, hip and trendy as Denzel, cold and bitter as Vilgerour and a genuine delight to be around as Tristan. Now that he's currently disguising himself as Melody though, he seems to have gone back to his roots slightly, borrowing some for her personality off of Ariel, just the slightest touch off of Kassidy and a lot from Vilgerour. However, Damian has an air of selfishness that is projected all through his aliases in one sense, although he'd suppressed this considerably during his acting as Kassidy and Tristan. This air of selfishness will certainly be present within his alias of Melody, and he's not letting that go any time soon.
 
All in all, Damian is many things, as has been portrayed by all the aliases he made. That's something one can't deny even when taking into account that this may all be an act. But reckless certainly isn't one of them. While he may move in to steal a Pokemon from another trainer out of spite for the trainer him/herself and spite alone, he's much more methodical than that most of the time. He will often watch a Pokemon he may be interested in and the trainer it belongs to, studying every interaction the two of them have with each other. This may sound like coveting, especially when taking into consideration the sheer length of time Damian invests in each observation he undergoes. But, if the trainer has a personality trait that he would despise, Damian will be happy to settle with taking a Pokemon of more sentimental value to the trainer instead, and if he sees the same species of the Pokemon he's interested in with a different trainer, he may consider taking that trainer's Pokemon instead.
 
Since there's a tournament supposedly going on, though, Damian is currently laying low for the moment, having made the smart choice, and taking some time to get a feel for portraying himself as Melody. After all, one does not simply change alias right in the middle of a tournament or a similar event. As such, Damian may not even bother himself with attempting to steal another Pokemon from someone, as that's not why he's here. He has put a lot of research into Pokemon typing and which role each of the Pokemon making up his team would fulfill, and his invitation alone is proof that said research had seen fruition. And he's also trained each Pokemon to be coherent with each other which, given the fact that most of them were stolen from very different trainers, is a commendable feat. All he has to do from there is keep his ego in check.

[spoiler=Biography:]For what it was worth, Damian Fletcher had a rather poor childhood. He was born around the same time as a sister and a brother, and was the last one of those to be born. He found himself to technically be the youngest of an eight-child family, whose parents were always out to work for several hours of the day and had difficulty finding a babysitter brave enough to look after all eight children at a time. With so many siblings helping themselves to whatever toys they wanted to play with and not exactly willing to share, Damian was often left without anything to play with. And even when he did try and play with something, someone would always scold at him for it, whether it'd be a brother or a sister or even a parent. Thus, Damian became very lonely. On his 10th birthday, Damian was hoping that he'd be able to have a break from all this drama at home and go on an adventure with his first Pokemon, but he was out of luck yet again; specifically, he was visiting the Professor of a new Pokemon Lab that was built in Lilycove City to get either a Treecko, a Torchic or a Mudkip, only to find they were all out of all three of them, and with that, his hopes of going on an adventure were shattered. Unable to take it any more, Damian took off in tears, not stopping running until he found himself alone near a lake. It was then that he found a Shuppet that he'd eventually nickname Show Stopper. After ten whole years, Damian finally found a sentient being that was willing to play with him... even if it was a wild Shuppet.

 

Some time later, Damian found himself a wild Croagunk as he was coming up to the summit of Mt. Pyre. He sent Show Stopper in to help catch it, but it wasn't faring as well as he thought, considering the Croagunk knew a move or two that was highly effective against Ghost-types. Panicking, Damian immediately threw the one Poke Ball that he had in an effort to catch the Croagunk and stop the fighting. At first it didn't look as though that would work either but, as the Poke Ball continued to rock back and forth, it eventually settled down, the button that was flashing red at the time slowly drawing to a cease. He breathed a sigh of relief, but from that point on, Damian decided that it was not worth trying to catch another Pokemon. This immediately caused him to reflect back to his childhood past, where everything was always taken away from him by his other siblings... except one; the one brother that shared the same womb as Damian prior to their births, who their mother called David. Deciding to name the recently captured Croagunk after this one brother, Damian affectionately began training both it and Show Stopper until they were both a little stronger, and was in the process of doing so when a cute little girl approached him and asked if he could help her evolve her Tynamo. He agreed, but only if he could borrow the Tynamo for "a little while". In truth, the poor girl would never see her Tynamo again. To avoid suspicion, Damian made his first ever alias: Ariel Pierce.

 

But one would be wrong to assume Damian could ever stop there. In fact, he was in such a rush that throughout the years he'd often swap between alias, usually after he stolen a single Pokemon from someone else. He had his fair share of close calls, throughout his criminal career. The closest he ever came to being caught, however, was when he was disguised as Tristan Mignard, and was looking for a Whimsicott to round out his team once and for all. Here, Damian found himself a female trainer who was actually into him. Ordinarily, a guy would think himself lucky to get a girl so fast, but Damian disliked the idea of the girl practically forcing herself on him so suddenly... at least at first. He was originally concerned about being distracted by the girl being so lovey dovey with him, and enough so that he might have actually forgotten to do the very deed that he came here for, but it turned out the girl was more distracted than he was. So that part worked as well as he could possibly hope for. Unfortunately the girl didn't remain unaware for long. She had seen that one of her Poke Balls was missing, and the moment she did, she literally bolted after Damian. But he managed to evade capture, thankfully, and as per usual, he felt as though he needed a change in alias. This time though, he had no intention of pulling any stops, even going so far as to file off the ends of his fingers so that no fingerprints could be left, and have various surgeries performed on him to alter his appearance as much as he could possibly think of.

 

Now though, Damian's alias as Melody Ventura is complete. He has been doing a "test drive" of sorts, and likes the results. The Pokemon that he had gathered as his previous aliases have been conversely working well enough together, and he even has an invitation from Roderick Noble to show for his efforts. Everything seems to be going smoothly... for now. But there's still the issue of not getting made, despite all the efforts that he'd gone through to prevent such a catastrophe from happening.

• Damian has gone through 5 different aliases before finally going through before finally deciding to go through with the surgery that would ultimately make him appear as a woman. They are, in order: Ariel Pierce, Kassidy Rivera, Denzel Barker, Vilgerour Bjarnharoursdottir and Tristan Mignard.
• Damian's most reliable Pokemon in combat is Show Stopper, which has long since evolved into a Banette and comes equipped with his own Mega Stone. This should come to no surprise in the slightest, as Show Stopper was his very first Pokemon and has been there since the very beginning.
• Damian is fairly familiar with any underhanded plays his opponent may make. As such, he'll watch the trainer closely, and continue to do so until the battle's over.

[spoiler=Personality]A carefree and jolly person. Even when he in battle, he will always remember that Pokemon is a fun and sport competition.

[spoiler=Biography]Tori has been a fan of flying creatures ever since he can remember. He has always wanted to try the feeling of soaring through the sky. But after an accident occurred involving a plane crash from Unova, his home region, to Kalos where his parents died. He luckily survived the crash but he was traumatized. This affected his personality well. He stopped being joyful. But the most grave change was the he was now afraid of the sky. He lost the will to live his dream. He started living with his aunt in Castelia City. One day, his aunt gave him a pokemon. The pokemon that changed his life the way it should be. This pokemon was Fletchling. His aunt gave it after receiving an egg from a friend from the Kalos Region. He named the Fletchling "Onimaru" and together they had grew up and had fun together. Onimaru eventually evovled into a Talonflame and he was told to try to become a professional trainer. After months of training, he was almost going to lost hope after losing his first match. But then he remembered his parents's advice on him when he was still dreaming of flying. "Never lose hope, Tori. If you keep trying, you will eventually reach the top!". This inspired him to train Onimaru and his other Pokemons. He focused in the Doubles Format. Despite focusing on this format, he's still adept in the normal Singles Format. After winning a bunch of tournaments, eventually became one of the best Doubles trainer in many regions. He was then invited to the Blackdragon Isle Advanced Tournament which piqued his interest and hoping that tournament will make his Pokemons stronger!

Shaun has always been a boiling pit of determination - once he sets his mind to something, there is little that can convince him to stop. He is not the kind of person to give up easily, even if the odds are stacked completely against him. This trait specifically, alongside his pride, leads to him rushing head-first into situations without taking in the risks of his actions. Despite this, he is quite tactical during battles.

 

Due to his upbringing, he had become very prideful and a bit of a showoff at times. While he usually channels this in a positive way like helping out a weaker trainer, he occasionally come out as condescending and insensitive. He is a bit of a show-off, although it is always expressed in actions rather than words. In general Shaun doesn't talk too much, especially with people he is not very familiar with.

Shaun was raised in a family full of renown trainers - his father was one of the top coordinator and breeder in his city, and his mother ran the local Gym. As the oldest of two brothers, Shaun was held up to high expectation. Fortunately, Shaun seemed to have a natural ability for Pokemon battles. As such, he had been set high expectation by his peers and family. Namely, he acted as a role model for his younger brother who was more interested in contests rather than Pokemon battles. 

 

His first official Pokemon was a Piplup, although he basically owned a young Ralts bred by his father. The trio had their differences, but they all had one thing in common - passion flowed through their blood. The three of them quickly became a force in the school yard and, eventually, the whole city. He even went as far as to eventually beat his own mother in her Gym. Shortly after, he started travelling to other Regions. Tabitha is a thin, blonde girl who stands around five foot, six inches tall.  She has pale blue eyes, and an almost paler complexion.  She can be seen wearing her black cat overcoat that stays zipped open, but is buckled at the neck.  On her feet, she usually wears a pair of casual shoes.  Her bare shoulders are full of freckles, and she hides them away by always wearing a t-shirt with logo like circles on it.

While calm and cute looking on the outside, Tabitha has a pretty ruthless side to her.  She takes whatever means necessary to come out on top of a situation.  Whether it be manipulating boys with her looks, or bullying girls into submission, she always seems to get her way.  However, when it comes to pokemon, she turns into a complete gushing idiot.  Contrary to what one may possibly believe, she likes the tougher looking pokemon rather than the cute bouncing balls that call themselves pokemon.  Any pokemon that could lift her off her feet automatically gets hugged and squeezed on terms equal to that of a machoke's choke hold.  

 

Tabitha also hides behind a fake wall of intellect.  She tries to appear smart, and use big words to gain an upper hand in a conversation, she really doesn't have to knowledge to back it up.  If anyone were to try and blow her cover, she would get a crowd of fanboys to swarm the nonbeliever.  Another fake wall she has built up is a wall of self-esteem.  While most people call her pretty, she has a hard time believing them.  All she see's in herself are imperfections...like the strange group of freckles that rest on her shoulders...or her small bust size.

Tabitha was raised in a family of trainers, naturally of course.  Her family was serious about training a new champion to be crowned in the region, since their time had all but flown by them.  However, Tabitha wasn't the first to be molded into a champion of sorts.  The first attempt to try and do this was her brother, Abe.  As soon as he was of age, and became a trainer, he showed immense potential to become the next champion.  Abe obeyed his parent's wishes for a time, but was soon introduced into the world of competitions.  He became a renown coordinator and has since abandoned the pursuit for the champion title.  

 

When they raised Tabitha, they made sure to be more strict with her, and allowed her less freedom.  They even started teaching her battle strategy a couple of years before she was allowed to own a pokemon.  Sadly, Tabitha didn't really have the same stuff that made Abe such a fierce competitor, so they taught her how to overcome stronger opponents by playing to their advantages.  If a pokemon looked to have an injured body part...that's where you aimed.  If a trainer and pokemon team looked fairly close, you might miss the pokemon as an attack flies towards the trainer.  

 

When she got her first pokemon, a turtwig she named Atlas, she started her journey to fulfill her parent's dream.  In her first pokemon battle, while the other trainer focused on the battlefield, Tabitha pushed her opponent down.  His cries made turtwigs opponent look away and was battered with a tackle.  Dirty tricks got Tabitha to where she is now, and she'd be happy to say she's proud of it.  However, years of experience has made her into a force to be reckoned with, and those tricks are usually saved as a last resort.  As long as she made her parent's wishes come true, maybe she'd stop getting compared to her brother all the time.

 

When she received her invitation to the tournament that was going to be held on Blackdragon isle, she couldn't turn it down.  After all, if they were asking her, a formidable trainer, to participate, that would mean there would be hard competition to stomp out.  Maybe she'd even come out on top, and become the champion of the isle!

Simple and practical is how Malin functions. Keeping her orange-red hair short to make maintenance quick and easy is only the start of her appearance. Under the clothes, which consists of a short-sleeved grey turtleneck sweater, sturdy denim jeans and almost-knee-high laced-up brown boots, her skin is a rather-pale color despite the amount of time she spends in the sun. Around her left wrist is a golden bracelet with a light-bluish Key Stone held within it. Resting over eyes of varying shades of green is a pair of gold-framed glasses due to her being nearsighted. It isn't uncommon to see a calculating smirk on her face, especially during battle. Not shown in the picture, she also is often seen with a small yellow laptop designed to survive the issues of the wilds (meaning its sturdier and waterproof) and has a black rolling backpack with sturdy wheels for when she can no longer carry her things, but wishes to continue on.

[spoiler= Biography (WIP, what is here is long))][spoiler=Kanto and Jhoto]Malin was born within the region of Orre, specifically within the village of Agate to a rather-suprised pair of elder Pokemon Breeders. Growing up among the green of the village that severely-clashed with the desert that consumed the rest of the region, Malin learned quickly how to not only take care of various Pokemon, but also her aging parents. Growing up, she wanted to get together her own team of Pokemon, like many trainers she's heard about in other areas.

Her heart, initially, was broken when told that Orre was different than the other regions, in that Pokemon did not appear in the wilds. For a time, she became listless, going about her daily life with not much of a flicker of light to her eyes. When she turned eleven, however, she wound up getting a surprise. Her parents gave her a bunch of starting gear, including a variant of the rolling backpack that her parents sometimes use to move heavier things around in that contained things geared for long-term survival like a decent-sized first-aid kit, but they also gave her something else, too.

A pair of tickets to Kanto on the cruise liner, S. S. Lily. Up until now, her parents had been subtly teaching her various things about survival on one's own, including various feigning injuries and wounds one was likely to encounter on one's own. She and her mother traveled to Viridian City and checked into a hotel for a bit before Malin was taken, via helicoptor, to Pallet Town. She was soon escorted to the local Pokemon Professor's Lab, where Professor Oak was there to greet her.

From there, she had recieved her first Pokemon, a Charmander she had come to call Nicol. Upon leaving, she traveled throughout the Kanto region, finding herself drawn to particular Pokemon...though the first one she 'captured' came to her instead. A Riolu that became known as Atma. Peace the Wingull, Poofball the Swablu (whom later just became Poof), and Hikaeme the Smeargle all joined in their own ways, but the most unusual ally gained occured upon Cinnabar Island. Curiosity got the better of her, she decided to explore the still-standing damaged building that was the Cinnabar Mansion, the only Pokemon out by her side being the now-Lucario, Atma.

Soon after entering the mansion, Atma began acting as if he sensed something before bolting towards one particular direction. With difficulty did Malin manage to keep up before hearing a high-pitched noise that could only be mistaken for a wounded Pokemon. The pair of Lucario and human soon found themselves digging through a large pile of rubbish before discovering what looked like a Ditto that was bleeding out. Figuring that Atma would get the Pokemon to the Center far faster than her, Atma went to carefully pick up the Ditto as she placed quickly around one of his upper arms a band to signify that he wasn't a wild Pokemon.

Atma zipped full speed ahead with Ditto in arms, and by the time Malin managed to catch up, the wounded Pokemon was already being tended to. Atma suddenly popped open Hikaeme's Pokeball on Malin upon entering, to which she sighed and started digging out a sketchpad and a couple of sharpened pencils to hand to the Smeargle. As Atma started talking, the Smeargle listened before beginning to draw with widened eyes, eventually showing a rather-detailed picture of the Ditto that was brought in, but the odd thing was that Ditto seemed to be surrounded by some sort of glow around it.

"Wait a second, a Ditto that has Aura potential?"

Miraculously, they managed to get the Ditto, Neos, to join them, taking advantage of his ability to Transform to practice with using various Aura abilities. After making an attempt at the Indigo League and wiping out during the qualifiers, she started travelling through Jhoto, making allies out of Niv-Mizzet the Helioptile and Cysero the Aipom along the way. There was one Pokemon she had found that took a while for her to break out of its proverbial shell after she convinced him to come with her, Raja the Yamask. She had recognized the mask on the Pokemon as someone that had been reported missing after recent attacks launched by Pokemon Hunters and had mentioned that 'if he traveled with her, they may smack into whomever ended him'. Raja came with her on the hope that such came true.

[spoiler=Orre and the Shadow Disaster]Unfortunately, they did and something else happened along the way. She had been back in Orre around the age of 16 and visiting her parents in Agate Village when the small place was attacked by Team Snagem, Nicol the Charizard captured by them as well as Neos the Ditto after they saw him become forcibly demorphed from a human form the Ditto had been working on. One of the ones attacking Raja had recognized and evolved at the drop of a hat, wrapping the woman that had killed him and turning her into his first Mummy as a Cofagrigus. Unfortunately, the one that stole away with both Nicol and Neos managed to escape, leaving Malin enraged and swearing she would get her Pokemon back somehow.

A week later, she smacked into a male and female pair riding on a motorcycle traveling with an Espeon and Umbreon. She recognized the machine on the male's arm as the same one used to re-capture her missing Pokemon and demanded that he and his associates give her back her Pokemon. The male, Wes, was stunned silent by the sudden and unprovoked action before the girl with him, Rui, carefully convinced Malin to calm down and tell them what happened.

The trio exchanged information about the phenomenon Wes and Rui had been fighthing against, the emergence of Shadow Pokemon and how Team Snagem had been making them with the help of another group, Cipher. As Wes and Rui filled her in, Malin began to pale visibly as she began to imagine what they were talking about happening to her own Pokemon. It took Rui to calm her down once more before the pair went their own way from Malin, promising to return her Charizard and Ditto to her if they find them.

However, they never did. Instead, Malin ended up smacking into the trainer that was making use of them both as weapons of war. The foul man released them into combat when she made a move to defend her birthplace, almost shocking her to the core with their sight. Visually, there was nothing different about them, but Atma had his hackles raised and Raja was unusually somber upon seeing them.

Nicol and Neos had been turned into Shadow Pokemon. And it was incredibly disturbing to see Neos especially act within the throes of utter insanity as the pair struck out at her and her Pokemon under their new owner's commands, due to acting and attacking with dark power in human form. Atma took on Nicol while Neos and Malin went head-to-head as Raja controlled the flow of damage between everyone with Pain Split, even with Malin.

Despite this, Malin was getting badly trounced and it wasn't until Nicol started preparing a Fire Blast towards her that a small miracle happened. A small glimmer of recognition emerged in Neos' eyes when he locked hands with Malin, one that never showed up with Nicol. Hearing the flames beginning to stir, Neos pushed Malin out of the way and lunged forward towards Nicol, jumping and grabbing the Charizard by the neck before fulling turning his head around and snapping his neck to kill the fire Pokemon outright. After this moment, Neos fell to his knees after falling all the way to the ground, his hands over his head and shaking as if trying to get hold of himself. The one whom had both under his command wisely split with his life intact.

[spoiler=??? (Not finished)]She stayed in Orre for two years after that, trying to help her Ditto recover from what had happened to him. Her parents, recalling events prior, suggested that she and Neos visit the Relic Shrine to see if it helps him out in any real way. Following thier advice, the pair went to the shrine and followed their instructions as best as they could.

There was something wrong.Midway in during the purification, Neos began to scream from pain, which was strangely becoming quieter and quieter as he did. By the time the process was done, absolutely nothing was coming out of his thoat went trying to make any form of sound.

He is a wee bit of a spoiled twerp outside of battle that loves shiny things. He sometimes doesn't always immediately Mega-Evolve, often preferring to do so when it looks like the sudden amount of POOF would soften a blow or three. 'Poof' is actually short for 'Poofball', which was the Pokemon's original name, and earned the name by suddenly flying away from something and having its very-poofy wings connect to her face. He also wears a color-matching collar that has his Altarianite in it.

This has gotten her into trouble more than once...including getting her beak stuck in the wall from how fast she's going. She also tends to try and tick off her opponent without the actual use of Taunt or Torment...and on rare occasions actually succeeds. (Up to opponent, however, if her beak actually gets her into sh!t in combat.)

Confusion tends to have a different effect, causing her to literally slow down when she realizes that she can no longer keep straight what was happening around her. This has often left her wide open for attacks, which she often uses to take a swing at the opposing Pokemon once it connects with her.

She is a very-patient Pokemon and doesn't like it when other Pokemon are battling when unneeded, such as outside of official battles, since she is aware that such is done to maintain a form of income. She has irked many speedster Pokemon with her purposely-slow pace. As fitting of her nature, she almost never makes a sound with her voice, but if she speaks, you listen if you can understand her.

Malin found him as a Yamask, and pitied the Pokemon upon recognizing the face on his mask, a victim of Pokemon Hunters and allowed him to come with her. As Raja traveled with her, he evolved upon seeing the Hunter that killed him before turning the b!tch into his first Mummy.

Yeah, beneath his serious appearance, he's got the vengeful heart of a killer and it's been a miracle and several prayers that she's been able to keep him from doing something she would regret.

She knows Niv-Mizzet has said something truly cringe-worthy when one of the others in the party, usually Neos, visibly cringes suddenly. Despite the cringe, she often has him and Hikaeme out when she needs to scheme and have someone to bounce her ideas off of. He's also the only Pokemon that's capable of auto-battling, or being able to battle intelligently without the need for a trainer to give commands, which has come into play in the past when something happens to Malin herself.

She sometimes uses the paint of her tail to 'translate' what's being said by the others for Malin, which often appears in the form of pictures when possible. Hikaeme doesn't know how to write, though Malin has tried to teach her in the past, especially for Niv-Mizzet's sake.

Extra Info: Neos was actually a hell of a find. She found the Ditto pretty banged up and its last legs of life when she and her elder Lucario partner, Atma, found it. It was actually because of Atma that it was discovered that the Ditto had unusual potential with Aura, but normally wouldn't be able to take advantage. The pair had the idea of training the Ditto primarily in a variant of the elder Pokemon's form, but eventually, Neos actually figured out a human form of his own from secretly practicing transforming into various humans before surprising their shared trainer with the new form. This particular quick got him into trouble with Team Snagem in Orre after being forced to demorph in front of a pair of Snaggers. He's the only Pokemon on Malin's team that's also a former Shadow Pokemon, and the recovery from being a Shadow has left some serious damage on him. For starts, the conversion to and from being a Shadow Pokemon has wrecked his potential as an Aura Manipulator. The conversions also damaged his voice, rendering him mute across all forms. Even several years after being reverted back to a semblance of normal, he's still pretty unstable. The conversion back also robbed much of his strength in human form, making him even less able to fight than a normal human is. He's also the same Pokemon responsible for the death of Malin's starter, Nicol the Charizard.

I feel the need to clarify this, as I thought it was evident by my not including a section for it in the template: This is like the anime in regards to items, guys. Aside from Mega Evolution, hold items aren't a thing. So like, I would ditch the Berries and the like, they aren't going to be elements that come into play.

So, moves that require such items, like Fling, aren't gonna be a thing, either, I'm guessing?

 

Guess that means some tweaking on my team-in-scheming's needed, then...

 

EDIT: Did some research and apparently held items are a thing, but they are rare. I've removed items from all but three of my Pokes because of this. (One requires it for her set, one's admittedly flavor and the last is the Mega Stone.)

I think we're taking an anime take on the battling...not so much statistic based.  

 

Edit:  HOLY MOLY!  My dude...did you not even read the rules?  Not only are you trying to take 2 psuedo-legendary pokemon, but you're trying to take two legendaries as well?!  There's a rule spoiler for a reason...just thought I'd tell you before you get rejected after all that hard work...

Thank you Hyde, hit the nail on the head there on both counts, much appreciated. Stats aren't really an element in the RP as they are in the games, the battle systems are much more like the anime, where you can dodge, use moves in unusual ways (a la Counter Shield in the SInnoh series), etc. 

 

Talim, as items are not a large presence in the anime, I'm choosing to dispense with anything that is not a Mega Stone entirely, okay? I'll add a no hold items clause to the rules, just so everyone is clear.
