Kirika Akatsuki
Card A can equip itself from the Pendulum Zone, which means it doesn't have to be Summoned first. It also means you can't Special Summon it for extra damage or to make plays. It's Union effect is pretty bad, since it requires it to destroy a monster by battle to destroy a Spell/Trap. The protection from battle is nice, but it's underwhelming. This card's Monster effect is a bit overpowered, since it triggers off any kind of destruction, which means its similar to Performage Plushfire, but it's offset by it's Scale (4), which limits the amount of decks it can be used in. Card B's Pendulum effect is a double edged sword. It's only usable in some decks, and most decks wouldn't like the Level reduction, since it would limit your Extra Deck options, but it also serves as a pseudo-Stygian Dirge, which can disrupt your opponent's plays. Unlike Card A, this card needs to be summoned in order for it to be equipped. It's effect is better, since it stops the equipped monster from being Targeted, and it protects from both destruction by battle and card effects. The only problem is that it can only be equipped to Level 4 or lower monsters, which limits it's usability. Being able to turn into a Scale when it's destroyed while equipped is nice bonus. My vote goes to Card B, because it's a better Union monster. While Card A has a better monster effect, and is better as a Pendulum, Card B feels more like an actual Union monster. It also easier to recycle, since it can be Pendulum Summoned and equipped, something Card A can't do.
