The “Three Days of Rain,” as it would soon be called, dropped seven bombs on major cities of the Axis and its satellites and caused nuclear fallout to disperse across the globe. With these changes, the Soviet Union rallied to never fall, and has rose to oppose the United States as the other player in a bipolar world. However, this nuclear rain was a trigger for a mutation, soon after referred to as the “Dresden Marker,” that began to crop up in the coming years. Those with the Dresden Marker found their physical capabilities greatly enhanced, and would develop what were commonly perceived as superpowers. While initially parents tried to conceal these differences in their children for fear of ostracization; as the phenomenon became more and more widespread, the government got involved. Metahumans were forced to register themselves with a new government bureau (the Bureau for Metahuman Activity, or BMA) and to undergo basic training. This was done with the hopes that any criminal elements wouldn’t be aided by these powers.Of course, that was a pipe dream. Superpower-enabled crime shot up, and eventually to curtail it the United States started to employ certain metahumans as heroes. This new reality of heroes versus villains wasn’t exclusive to the US, though: the USSR, the UK, Germany, China, Japan… they all found themselves using “supes” in different ways. Now in 2010 - sixty years after the bombs dropped - superhero culture has firmly ingrained itself worldwide. However, let’s not get ahead of ourselves. We’re still in a Cold War, a war not only of subterfuge and espionage, but also of superhumans and propaganda. This is a war in which there is no foreseeable winner, yet if things go wrong, everyone may end up losing. But who are you to want to participate? Is the fame of serving your country, spandex and all, really worth the costs?RulesThis is a superhero RP with Cold War-esque themes, inspired by the Fallout series aesthetic and by modern comics. While things will stay relatively local at first, we will be expanding to the rest of the world later on. Please keep this in mind when applying.Standard RP section rules apply. I expect you to know them all already before posting. No blatantly ripping off the concept of another franchise for your character, or carbon-copying a character from another roleplay (adapting a character is fine). Keep things as original as possible, please. As of right now, I only want one character per player. This will be an RP of no more than 5-6 other characters, so I will wait until there are a sufficient number of applications before choosing. You have creative freedom when making your character, but please remember that GM word is final, and you may be asked to change things if deemed necessary. (We’re trying to keep character concepts relatively serious, so nothing too silly.)Being accepted into this RP means that you are committed to seeing it advance. If you end up falling inactive, you may be dismissed from participating. When posting, please let at least two people go before you before posting again. Please note that your characters don’t have plot armor. If you write your way into a corner, I as GM may be forced to kill your character off. If that’s the case, you can reapply with another. No chronokinesis, reality warping, power absorption or power negation. They’re generally too OP’d to use as a player character.GlossaryBureau for Metahuman Activity (BMA): A US government agency created in concert with the Metahuman Registration Act. Devoted to the monitoring of metahumans on American soil, and their use in both fighting crime and in more covert projects. Operates at high levels of secrecy.Dresden Marker: A genetic mutation that became present after widespread nuclear fallout at the end of WWII. Those with the mutation demonstrate enhanced physical characteristics early in life (increased strength, endurance, speed and healing processes), and further develop unique abilities at around puberty. They are thus named “metahumans.” Formally named after the US-led data gathering and sequencing project in Dresden, Germany. Appears roughly once in every 100,000 people, although geographic distribution can be skewed towards certain areas.Liberty Bay, CA: A bustling mid-sized city located on the West Coast of the US, and our initial setting.Metahuman Registration Act of 1956: Requires that all bearers of the Dresden Marker with American citizenship submit their personal information to the BMA, and that they undergo four months of physical training and conditioning to (theoretically) keep their abilities in check. Also offers metahumans the ability to be employed by the BMA as “heroes.”Steeple Rock Prison: A maximum-security, state-of-the-art prison in Liberty Bay specifically designed to host criminal metahumans. Located two miles offshore on the barren Steeple Rock Island.World War II: Fought between the Allies (USA, UK, USSR and RoC) and the Axis (Nazi Germany, Italy, Japan), and their respective allies. Started in 1939 with the invasion of Germany against Poland. Ended in 1950 with seven atomic bombs being dropped on various Axis cities, forcing their surrender. The fallout from these bombs catalyzed the spread of metahumans.Worldbuilding NotesAmerican Culture: The culture of America and the world as a whole is “retrofuturist,” similar to the Fallout series. While technology has evolved greatly (cellphones are a thing, but the Internet is much less developed), and patterns of immigration have continued as they would in the present, social mores and living styles seem to still take great influence from the 1950s. Atomic energy remains popular, but there is the omnipresent fear that another Three Days of Rain may occur if the balance between the US and the USSR tips too far. Propaganda against the “evil Reds” permeates daily life in America, and those who don’t show patriotism are labeled radicals or ideological traitors. However, the general consensus is that life in the US is better than in the USSR: this is for the most part true.Differing Countries: These lists are not inclusive - there are some other unlisted changes from our timeline.Democratic Republic of East Turkestan: Formed out of what was the Chinese province of Xinjiang after the Chinese Civil War. Relatively impoverished, despite Soviet attempts to bolster its economy. Firmly in the Communist bloc.Federal Republic of Germany: Didn’t end up divided in the post-WWII discussions (East Prussia and Danzig were ceded to Poland), but its industrial development hasn’t accelerated as rapidly. It remains firmly neutral due to the threatening presence of the USSR.Union of Soviet Socialist Republics: Earlier reconstruction has lead to the USSR not collapsing, instead continuing strong through the present day. While they no longer have control over the Baltics (Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania), the Soviets were able to take East Turkestan (now Xinjiang) from China during the Chinese Civil War, increasing their hold in the East.Republic of China: Never fell to Mao Zedong’s Communist insurgency despite Soviet support, due to stronger government centralization and American backing. The Chinese Civil War is generally considered to be the start of the Cold War period, during which East Turkestan and Tibet seceded (the former being seized by Communist troops and the latter declaring independence after a referendum). A democratic state and an ally of the US.Republic of Korea: Never split due to the Korean War not happening. Firmly allied with China and America.Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia: Never fell apart to infighting. Still allied with the USSR, but their relationship has cooled in the recent years.Major Blocs:Capitalists: USA, China, Korea, UK, France, South Africa, much of Western EuropeCommunists: USSR, Yugoslavia, Cuba, Venezuela, East Turkestan, parts of AfricaNonaligned: Japan, Germany, Italy, Indonesia, much of the Middle East and Northern AfricaApplicationReplace everything in ((double parentheses)). bury the year
Full Name: Wilhelm "Wil" Benjamin Halsey. Age: 25. Gender: Male. City of Origin: Bremerton, Washington. Appearance: The Dresden marker has given Wil the gift of physical health, and it shows. He stands at 5’10” (178 cm) and weighs roughly 170 lbs (77.1 kgs), much of this being muscle. This is due to not only the presence of the Dresden marker but also a rigorous personal training regime, one on which Wil is loathe to slack. Much of his bulk is concentrated in his limbs, which is important for the use of his powers. His hair is straight and sandy brown, kept relatively short for ease of upkeep, and he has to shave frequently to avoid getting a five-o’-clock shadow. However, probably his most noticeable features are his eyes, an unusual dark blue that seem to shimmer with filaments of gold when his powers are in use. As someone who doesn’t like to complicate his day with the necessity of choosing an outfit, Wil’s wardrobe is almost entirely staples. Dark-washed jeans, plain white T-shirts and navy athletic hoodies are what comprise his day-to-day outfit. He usually also has a small leather messenger bag, which not only holds various items that he may need but also has a hidden storage compartment for his costume. Personality: In a word, Wil is a stoic. He comes off as snippy and serious too often, a slight frown and furrowed eyebrows his near-default expression. Some take this as him being thorny or antisocial, but that’s not the entire truth. This is mainly due to the nature of his being a metahuman, and that his powers have caused him an awful lot of grief as a teenager. The only place in which he expresses more than the requisite amount of excitement is in the heat of battle: otherwise, he remains almost unnervingly even-keeled. He’s had extensive practice at bottling up his emotions: and while Wil admits that it’s unhealthy long-term, it’s become so much of a coping mechanism that he just can’t stop. It isn’t entirely effective, though. Those who’ve been around him for enough time know that he’s something of a softy and a sentimentalist. The thorniness comes about entirely to keep the walls up around this part of him, so people catching Wil off-guard leaves him flustered. He’s quick to dispute anyone trying to show this off, either, doing a decent impression of a tsundere with a blush stickered on his cheeks. However, once he’s able to fight criminals or save the day, it’s as if a light switch flips inside of him. Wil becomes more visibly lively and animated once he is able to assume his heroic persona. It’s almost like he’s able to release a good deal of repressed confusion and anger on the people in his way: and despite the harshness of the BMA’s training, he’s a firm nationalist and thankful for the support his country’s given him. Wil joined the Corps as a way of “making some good of his life,” as he’s put it, and to shed the fear he holds for himself if only for a short while. Once the day’s missions are done, he cools down once again. Wil also has fought an internal battle with his sexuality. He’s known that he’s gay for the longest time, but only his closest friends and confidants (read: some of the other heroes on his team) know this fact. This charade has worn away on Wil’s confidence for a while, and he has to actively keep up a façade while in public to make sure nobody guesses his secret, as he knows there are those who would use it against him. Overview: Wil’s childhood was relatively average, or at least as average as it could be under the circumstances. At birth, his parents had tested him for the requisite genetic diseases and markers, and they were quietly told at the time that their baby had the Dresden marker. They knew the implications of this, and knew that eventually they’d have to give and get him registered, but Clarissa and Jacob were very hesitant. Instead, they kept him away, raising him in relative quiet on Puget Sound. Thus, even though Wil knew he was “special,” to some definition of the term, he didn’t ever connect the dots. Sure, he was really good at sports, and he very rarely got ill, but didn’t that just mean he was really healthy? He also slowly started to realize that his sexuality was “abnormal,” as crueler words would frame it, so saying it was a lot for a teenager to handle was a bit of an understatement. As the years passed, his awkward personality only grew more present, and Wil receded into himself, less sociable than ever. But puberty hit Wil like a ton of bricks. It mainly started when he tried to use the television one rainy night: one arcing bolt of blue electricity later, and the TV was resoundingly fried. So too were his parent’s nerves. They knew their son had the Dresden marker, so it was only a matter of time before he started to manifest in other ways, but they had hoped that it wasn’t going to be this… overt. Wil himself knew that he didn’t have much more time before he’d be spirited away for training, but that didn’t mean he was going to accept it quietly. He fought with his parents, but they wouldn’t listen The day eventually came for Wil’s BMA registration and training. He was initially apprehensive, but although the training was tough and the hours grueling, he realized that his secret wasn’t going to come out. Wil found a sense of camaraderie in the other metahumans, none of whom suspected that he was gay, and he made a few good friends there with whom he still keeps in touch. There was even a quick fling or two. Thus, after the training concluded, Wil was firmly convinced that he wanted to be a hero. After his four years of university and a mechanical engineering degree later, he enlisted with the BMA and was moved to station in Liberty Bay. It’s been a few years now, and each night the sky crackles as Polari strikes fear into the hearts of villains. Alias: Will-o’-Wisp. Costume: Wil’s superhero costume is a plain sleeveless jumpsuit, dark blue on the top half, black on the lower half and trimmed with white. It is designed of a porous yet incredibly strong fabric, designed in conjunction with the BMA to resist heat so that Wil may use his powers without repeatedly damaging the costume. He also wears a thin black domino mask, to both protect his eyes and somewhat obscure his identity, and an earpiece for radio transmissions during a mission. Finally, when using his powers, the veins in his forearms and hands glow bright blue and trail faint wisps of energy, giving him his superhero alias. Powers:Metahuman Physiology: With the Dresden Marker present on his genome, Wil has the enhanced natural capabilities that are common to almost all metahumans. This includes increased strength, endurance and speed.Plasma Generation: Wil can generate streams of bright blue superheated plasma from his hands and feet, which visually manifests in crackling bolts of energy. The nature of this plasma not only channels a powerful lightning-esque shock, but also is incredibly hot, leaving whatever targets he hits looking like they just went through an electrical fire. Constant use of this ability will leave Wil heavily exhausted, so he needs time to “recharge” after prolonged combat.Enhanced Jumping Ability: More an application of his abilities than something unique, Wil can channel the plasma to his feet to act as an impromptu propulsion system, able to leap upwards of ten times his height. Landing can be difficult, though.Heat Immunity: A requisite second ability, Wil’s skin resists any form of heat damage. Anything that would hurt him has to be hotter than his plasma, which tends to be rather rare in his experience.

Cherz
[spoiler=Ghost]"You know when you get the feeling someones watching you? That's 'cuz someone is."Full Name: Courtney BurkeAge: 22Gender: FemaleCity of Origin: Montpelier, Vermont[spoiler=Appearance:]Courtney stands at 5'5, and weighs 117 lbs. She has short brown hair, that frames a soft, round face. Her eyes are a light brown, but are usually covered by shades. Her complexion is a soft white, and usually devoid of make-up. Moving further down, she has a very lithe and slender build, with not much meat on her bones. It is that of a pear shape stature. Her upper torso is rather small, whereas her legs are long in comparison. She has a defined taste in fashion, as all her clothes match her natural colors. She is usually seen wearing a black beret, a black chic scarf. She usually wears a mocha colored shirt, with a black corset over it. She also wears black cargo pants, and a golden chic belt. She matches these with her black motorcycle gloves. Finally, she tops the look off with black cargo pants, leading down to black combat boots.[spoiler=Personality:]If Courtney were to be summed up in a few words, the first would most defiantly be smart, cool, and tomboyish. She is a highly intelligent woman, especially given how young she is. She also knows that she is smart, and although she has a bit of an ego, she uses it to help rather than put down. She is also notorious for being a cool, level-headed person, especially when hunting criminals/spying. She always keeps her composure, and is a valuable asset to a team. Her personality, off the job, is rather tomboyish. Her attitude is that of a 'bro.' She is a champ of the game Baseball, tackle football, and her favorite, Beer Pong . She is riot at gatherings, and fits in perfectly with guy crowds. When hunting criminals, or doing something similar, Courtney changes demeanor a bit. She becomes a cool and confident leader. She is an expert at tracking her opposition. She will often times toy with her opponent, taunting them from the veil of invisibility, and instilling fear before she goes to apprehend them. However, unless necessary, she won't kill. In each fight, she doesn't hesitate to taunt her opposition, often weaving curses in-between her nationalist monologues. Despite her many good traits, she wont fight a battle she knows she can't win. She will use her power to escape if the situation gets dire. Self preservation and her own intelligence are her greatest flaws. She would have very little regrets about letting a teammate take a bullet for her.[spoiler=Overview:]Courtney was born to an average household in Montpelier, Vermont. However, she was not so average. From a young age, she displayed the ability to regenerate wounds relatively quickly. Unfortunately, she figured it out too. The young girl had quite the temper, constantly getting into fights with other elementary school kids, fights she would usually win. For some reason, this young girl had monstrous strength. It was joked about that she spent more time in the principal's office than in her classes. However, transitioning through puberty, Courtney changed a lot. It started when she had woken up one morning, and didn't see herself in a mirror. Her parents had had their suspicions, but had never truly been able to confirm she was a 'meta-human' until this day. She got up, out of bed, to turn off her alarm. She went to the restroom to get a shower, and thats when she had the first sign. She looked down to remove her clothes, and she couldn't see them. She looked into the mirror, and couldn't see her own reflection. After the initial 'is this a dream' sequence, she realized this was the real world. She made her way into her parents room, after awkwardly punching the door, as a result of being unable to see her hands, before she finally located them and the doorknob. After opening it, she woke them up with a start. They believed it to be a ghost until they heard her talking, rapidly explaining her panic. It was quite the predicament at first, them being unable to see her, so she had to put her back to a wall, and her father spray painted it until some of it caught on her, temporarily revealing her. They submitted her information and explained the predicament, and within a few hours, the entirely red girl was on her way to becoming a hero, unbeknownst to her. While training under the BMA, she learned how to activate her invisibility at will, as well as deactivate it. It took her an entire month to perfect it though, and she was constantly under video thermal surveillance to prevent her from trying anything. The physical training and conditioning, however, helped shape her personality. Gone was the aggressive, self centered brat. Spending time away, with people similar to her, helped shape her into a much better person. Once her training was finished, the BMA took notice of her power, and the practical use that came with it. They offered, and she accepted in the bat of an eyelash. Courtney resumed her time in school for a bit, occasionally being called to do some espionage, or gather information on supposed commies, since her powers had developed enough for her to become an expert on infiltration. This little side job gave her advanced learning in school. She was doing Calculus in 7th grade, and was an expert with coding. She could even break encryption, making the school very irritated when she overrode the password to listen to some of her music in class. However, she was never revealed to be a hero, nor did she do the jobs she started to crave, such as fighting and apprehending criminals. That was sure to change by college. Following up her young success, she was given a full ride scholarship to University of San Francisco. Her parents were thrilled. However, Courtney knew what it was. It was like her dreams had come true, she was finally recognized enough to be relocated to San Francisco, to hunt the big game, and given a scholarship under the guise of that. When she arrived, she was no doubt transported to none other than the BMA headquarters. A few years passed, and Courtney had become a national figure. Criminals began to fear the shadows, and the unseen. 'Ghost,' as she was now called had taken to the streets.Alias: Ghost[spoiler=Costume:][spoiler=Mask:]Her costume is a simple jump suit, fit to her form. It is a charcoal black, with black stripes as accents. It is designed for covert ops, and anti-chaffing material. It is also equipped with hidden pockets, in case the need to conceal something in it arises. A simple design, but very practical. She also wears a black mask to help conceal her identity, since there will be times she is caught on camera, despite being able to fade from the visible spectrum.Powers: Courtney possesses the ability to turn invisible to the naked eye. By bending the photons around her, she slowly fades, until becoming impossible to detect. Because the nature of her power, anything she is wearing/holding turns invisible with her. However, she can not make anyone but herself invisible, and the power isn't complete stealth. Objects that sense body heat can still detect her, and she can still make noise, and an aroma. Those with enhanced senses can still detect her, at the very least. She can't hold stealth for too long though, as once she takes damage, it shimmers. When she takes too much, it breaks. She can also Phase, becoming intangible. She can only hold her Phase form for a maximum of 5 minutes, and has to wait another 5 for it to recharge, if she chooses to use it all at once. However, this power allows her to remain invisible, giving her a true ghost feeling. While Phasing, she becomes immune to all physical attacks, and she can disregard gravity slightly, as well as walk through solid objects. This power complments her invisibility nicely. Fighting Style: Ghost fights ambush tactics, sneaking up on her opponents, and bringing them down before they knew what hit them. In her tote bag (which is made of Kevlar), she has a variety of different tools to aid her. She has a bunch of USB flash drives that look like pens, perfume that sprays Tear Gas, a lipstick tube that has a concealed Taser, and a napkin with chloroform. She is also proficient in martial arts, namely Savate. She can also use her tote bag as a weapon, due to its material, and weight. It is a whopping 10 pounds without content, and bedazzled with golden studs.
Hakima
[spoiler=Sparky Sparky Boom Man] “Being a superhero is a real drag sometimes.”Full Name: Warren RennigerAge: 23Gender: MaleCity of Origin: Boston [spoiler=Appearance]Warren is decently tall at 5’10” (177 CM), and because of the physical fitness required for the job of a superhero he has put on a good amount of weight since he was a teenager, and though still very lean, he weighs roughly 165 LBS (75 KG), most of which is wiry muscle. His hair is shaggy and dirty blonde, a few bits falling down to frame his sharp face and debatably his most noticeable feature, his eyes. They are nearly completely white from a distance, enabling him to deliver a blood-chilling stare with his mask on, but his irises are actually a very pale lavender color that can only be discerned from close-up. They have become somewhat well known because, on top of being so strange, they are the only feature discernible from beneath his costume. Another defining feature, but only out of his costume, is the barbwire tattoo on his left forearm that he got on a dare. His wardrobe is simple outside of missions, mostly because he owns multiple sets of the same clothes. He mostly dresses in baggy black sweatpants and long-sleeved t-shirts with the sleeves rolled up past the elbow, and some obscure pop culture reference on the chest ("END OF THE CENTURY"). Warren defends his rather lazy way of dressing with the excuse that his uniform is already one of the most uncomfortable to wear under the hot California sun, so he deserves some comfort while he isn't on a mission. Other than that, he usually has his headset around his neck because it doubles as a music player, and his mask in his pocket in case he ever has to jump in when there isn't time to don the full uniform.[spoiler=Personality]Warren is a very lazy and apathetic person from the perspective of an outsider, and that’s not a entirely unfounded thing to say about him. His natural inclination is to do as little as work as possible, and he isn’t all that interested by the buzzing of the inhabitants of Liberty City and the near idol worship they give him and his teammates. He’s of an extremely strong opinion that it is more annoying than anything else, like he is many things that most wouldn’t see as a problem. Warren doesn’t understand most of the regular people - the human people - and the things that they see as world-ending or mind-blowing register very low on his scale of problems. To say that he doesn’t care about anything, however, would be simply untrue. Warren is not very interested in the average civilian or their opinion, but he cares about the civilian populace and their lives as a whole. He also puts an extra amount of priority on keeping his teammates safe in combat, and won’t hesitate to put himself in a position a more clear-headed person would call strategically disadvantageous if it will assure the safety of his allies. He will do this because he views his teammates as his only friends in the world, the only people who actually understand why he acts like he does and what it’s like to be a hero. They know he’s not some immortal man of stone that cannot be taken down like the public is lead to believe, and he knows all too well they aren’t invulnerable either. That won’t stop him from giving them hell though. Warren is reliable in combat, but out of it and in everyday life, it is easy to see how laidback he really is. He doesn’t participate in all of the publicity stunts and appearances most of the rest of them do to bolster national pride, and though he will show up to do his training, he will be content with just blowing it off unless someone presses him. He also has a tendency to come off as very mischievous, though his sense of humor is very dry and slightly cruel. It is not obvious when he’s scheming though, due to how hard he is to read, which requires his friends to be on guard around him most of the time. Warren has an underlying fear that he will eventually lose control of his powers and hurt his own team. It has been a deepset issue since the beginning of his time with the BMA, because it is theorized by some of the scientists that Warren is a walking mass of volatile energy that could, under an extreme amount of duress, combust with enough power to level half of a city or more. It hasn’t even actually been confirmed as a fact - and his teammates haven’t a clue it is even a possibility - but his team supervisor has been warned of the chance as well as he has been warned to avoid losing control. [spoiler=Overview]Warren was born to a small and tame family in Boston, Massachusetts. From a very young age, he stood out when compared to his classmates in all fields, easily surpassing them in things like athletics without even trying. He didn’t seemed to ever get sick either, like his immune system was on a different level, even when the Swine Flu swept the entire school off of their feet and into their bed with tissue boxes close by. Or even ever get hurt like the rest of the children his age, with his cuts and bruises healing themselves within hours of them happening.Yes, you guessed it, Warren was an obvious carrier of the Dresden Marker from the very beginning. He breezed his way through everything put in front of him with ease, and after a while, the lack of a challenge caused him to lose interest in his school work as a whole. Why do something when you know you’re going to win? was his logic at the time. He put in just enough effort to pass each grade, mostly due to his test scores, and then he would sleep most of the rest of the time. His natural inclination for avoiding work didn’t come back to bite him until he reached the 10th grade, where all of his teachers thought he could be so much more if he actively tried. They would send him to the Principal's office on nearly every single day of the week for sleeping and slacking, but he would mostly blow them off even then. It was on a day like any other, when the Principal was riding him especially hard, that the nagging finally got to him after a long day of it all and he lost his temper and snapped. He yelled back, and when he did, he raised the roof. And the wall too, about sixty feet to the side. When his Principal recovered from the shock of having his office blown to pieces - mostly uninjured but scared - he called Warren’s parents and reported it to them, and then called the police and reported it to them as well. He was old enough that if he was a metahuman he should have been registered already, so it was breaking the law. After a lengthy debate between his parents and the police on if he would be forced to leave his home, Warren found it all too bothersome that he was headed away from home and to a facility the BMA possessed to train him to control it and to use his powers for the right causes. At the facility Warren was surprised to find he was actually challenged, with people just as gifted as him, and tasks that didn’t seem so menial as his trigonometry had back in school. He was taught to fight with his hands, and those in charge of training him somehow coerced him into the physical training enough that he reached his physical peak quickly. The most entertaining of it to him was his ability to use his powers: Warren learned that he had the power to speed up the molecules in an area, charging them with so much heat that they caused very powerful detonations that rocked an entire block if he put enough power into it. After a few years he was deemed acceptably trained, and then he was stationed to a team in Liberty City. The rest, as they say, is history. Alias: Boomburst[spoiler=Costume] Boomburst’s costume is a very casual and simplistic take on the superhero costume. It consists of a blue-and-white hat with his stylized emblem on the crown, a set of white headphones with red trimming, and a jacket that is of the same color scheme as the rest of his clothes. He also has a masked pull down over his face to obscure his and a brown backpack that he keeps his batons and a few supplies in. Headphones: A headset that is completely noise-canceling, silencing all outside sound so Boomburst does not deafen himself when he combusts the area around him. It has a radio built within the ear that the rest of his team’s voices travel through via microphone, so that he is still capable of coordinating with them. Combat Batons: A set of twin batons that Boomburst will fall back on when an opponent closes the gap in between them before he has time to ward them off. They are very durable - almost unbelievably so - and is capable of dishing out a beating as explosive as his powers if used properly. [spoiler=Powers:]Molecular Combustion: Warren has the ability to accelerate molecules around him until the friction causes them to explode violently. This explosion causes damage in two ways; the blast wave and the heat. The blast wave was what gave him his nickname, and is a result of the area around the explosion becoming over pressurized, resulting in highly compressed air particles that travel faster than the speed of sound. It will dissipate over time and a short distance and will only exist for a matter of milliseconds, so quickly that the only thing a person can see is the circle of dust it left as it spread out. This initial blast wave inflicts the most damage, shattering bone and metal and concrete the instant that it comes into contact with it. Not a moment after the blast wave a burst of fire will roar to life with white hot intensity, scorching whatever the blast didn’t deal with and doubling the damage done to the few who managed to survive it. Warren can destroy any metal known to man with enough power investment, but most of the stronger ones (such as titanium) take a huge chunk of his energy to do. His range on the ability is also rather low in comparison to the blast radius, meaning he inflicts injuries to himself just as often. Specialized Metahuman Physiology: Warren has the enhanced physical capability that almost all metahumans can lay claim to, but his has evolved to focus on enhancing his endurance more than anything else because of the large amount of damage his powers dish out to him everyday. His tolerance for pain is absurdly high, even in comparison to other metahumans. Enhanced Kinetic Durability: Warren has adjusted to survive even using his powers. His body has adjusted to stand up to the massive amount of kinetic energy that each explosion puts off, at least to the point of not shattering each and every one of his bones. It is still extremely unpleasant to deal with, and he would have gone deaf years ago if it wasn’t for Dr. Amelia coming up with his trademark headphones just days after he joined the team. Aix
[spoiler=Dr. Amelia Goldsworth] “I'm going to make you guys beyond super! Ultraheroes, let's go~!” Full Name: Amelia Goldsworth Age: 22 Gender: Female Occupation: Metahuman Supervisor City of Origin: San Francisco, CA [spoiler=Appearance:]Picture: http://www.pixiv.net/member_illust.php?mode=medium&illust_id=40134674 Exactly as pictured. Amelia is a small and thin young woman, standing at 5'2" (157.5 cm) and weighting a mere 104 lbs, though she is beginning to exercise and eat more, thus will build a bit more weight as the RP goes on. She has a generally childish face with her small features contrasting with her large brown eyes, thus making her look younger than she really is, much to her displeasure. Her eyebrows are thick, but don't stand out too much due to how pale they are. She enjoys having her platinum blonde hair flowing behind her, but has it cut at the front to make sure that it doesn't fall on her face. While not altogether pretty, she can be construed as cute. Her usual expression is one of concentration and deep in thought. Her choice of attire consists almost entirely of skirts and dresses, even in the lab she wears her lab coat over rather casual wear. She aims for a rather natural look with her make-up and stays away from most jewellery, considering it gaudy. Her style does change from time to time, especially when she's trying to make changes to herself. [spoiler=Personality:]Although she seems talkative and outgoing, Amelia has a very independent personality. She is used to doing things completely by herself, and constantly looks at herself with a critical eye on how to improve. When she becomes focused on something, she ignores everyone else. She is not good at taking other's advice to heart, tending to forget what others say not long after they say it. Not particularly organized, she's fine by herself, but it can become a nightmare for any co-workers. Amelia is a serious superhero enthusiast and becomes excited easily working with people with powers. She is a dorky and bubbly chatterbox even when she's alone, and it carries over to her team interactions. A perfectionist, she is always considering how to best deal with others so that things can work out well between them. Not one easily deterred when she is determined, Amelia does her best to hold the team together with her upbeat optimism. However, there are times where she can be insensitive to other's feelings, and butt in when she's unneeded. Truthfully, Amelia wished she had actual superpowers herself and much of her own time is spent on research to find a way to gain superpowers. [spoiler=Overview:]Her parents both work for the BMA so Amelia had been very connected to superheroes from the beginning. She worshipped them even more than everyone else in this propaganda-driven era. As agents in urban hotspots for crime, her parents had received help from and had been saved by superheroes several times, making Amelia extremely grateful to the heroes, especially San Francisco's idol Feline Fatale. From a very young age, Amelia stood out from her peers. It was even suspected that she had the Dresden Gene that gave her superhuman cognitive abilities, but tests for that came back negative. Nevertheless, with her parent's blessing, Amelia rocketed through the education system, going to university at the age of twelve, getting a double degree in life sciences and mechanical engineering, then going into Metahuman Studies. However, rather than going into research, Amelia wanted to get up close to the superheroes that she loved, so her parents managed to arrange it so that she got a position as the new superhero team supervisor in the nearby Liberty Bay. Even Amelia does not know what positions Amelia's parents hold now due to the BMA's secretive nature. [spoiler=Abilities:]As a super genius with a computer-like brain, Amelia has a perfect memory for data (and not much else) and can do calculations extremely fast in her head. She also has quite some innovative talent for new technology to help the superheroes. As an BMA operative, Amelia has undergone basic firearms training and has relatively good hand-eye coordination, however she is very prone to panicking. Her eyesight is actually slightly better than 20/20, but not really enough to matter.
Mr. Hyde
[spoiler= Tristan Dilby// "Umbra"]“I could be playing a board game right now...” Full Name: Tristan DilbyAge: 23Gender: MaleCity of Origin: Detroit[spoiler=Appearance:] A slanky looking young-adult, with shaggy hair. The hair shines with a dark indigo hue. However, despite his scruffy appearance, he's rather clean with the rest of his looks. Tristan has a small amount of stubble on his chin, in the hopes that someday it'll grow into a glorious beard. His glasses are thickly framed, and behind the glass lies a pair of eyes as dark as twilight. In public, he wears sunglasses over his normal glasses to hide his abnormal eyes. He wears an open duster with a oversized v-neck t-shirt under it. His collarbone is greatly defined, and his shoulders are barely broad enough to hold up his duster. [spoiler=Personality:]For lack of a better word, Tristan is a slacker. Slacker actually would be an understatement, since he was basically branded as a shut in by everyone in his family and the kids at school. It was to the point where he wasn't able to graduate his first year of high school, and instead was held back, due to him staying home most days. His parents didn't care about his absences, they already had a successful son to be proud of. He didn't mind though, he did what he liked and didn't necessarily care about the opinions of others. At least that's what he told himself every night. In the deepest reach of his self-conscious, Tristan begged for attention. He isn't able to make his feelings known though, seeing as how his social skills haven't developed like the blooming social flowers around him. Instead of improving his social standing, Tristan would instead play board games and mess around with puzzles in his room by himself. Board games and puzzles were the only thing he was really good at. Chess, monopoly, rubix cubes, and all games of those sorts were what he longed to play at the end of the day. However, the only opponent he has to play against himself in these situations were himself. In his mind, he'd be playing against a super slick version of himself, and somehow that guy would always come out on top. Sometimes, Tristan wished that everyone was just as lonely as he was...just as terrible at social situations as he was. [spoiler=Overview:]Tristan was born into the family in the wrong order. He was supposed to be the successful son, but that role was already given to his brother four years before he even got to enter the world. His parents always propped the eldest on a pedestal, pushing all their resources and time into him, never giving Tristan the light of day. Tristan came to resent his brother, but the feelings weren't mutual. Tristan's brother, Alexander, tried to play a role in his life. It was hard for him to be in it when a door was always forcefully slammed, and locked, in his face. On rare occasions, Tristan would allow his brother some 'hangout time', and the two would play a round of chess. Alexander was a prodigy, but this was Tristan's field. He had plenty of experience against an opponent exactly like his brother, a shadow of himself. After an easy win, and some small talk, Tristan would shove his brother out of his life for the next four weeks. Tristan only shoved his brother, and family, out of his life because there was something...unique about him. He obviously knew he had one of these "Dresden Markers" and was terrified that his family would find out...his shadow was restless. On one very specific day, Alexander invited his brother to his championship baseball game. Alexander told his brother that he would throw the game on purpose if Tristan wouldn't show. Reluctantly, Tristan went to the game, his peers from school looking at him with huge eyes, seeing the class shut-in at a social outing such as this was certainly the rarest of sites. In the last inning of the game, with his brothers team down by only one point, and two teammates on base, Alexander was set up to win the game by getting one good hit. A sure shot for his brother. Tristan was fascinated, he was inspired by his brother's determination in this tournament game. After this, he would surely reciprocate his brother's affection, something he had denied all this time. Maybe his brother wouldn't turn him away if he knew. After the game was won, Tristan and his brother returned home. After he had gathered the courage, he showed his brother the power that he possessed, his shadow dancing all around the room. Horrified, his brother called him a freak, and reported him to proper authorities. He was taken away for "Super Hero Training", but it was more like hell.Alias: Umbra[spoiler=Costume:]A basic brown hooded robe is what Tristan wears over his costume. The ends of the robe are tattered, and filled with holes. Underneath, he wears a tinted visor biker helmet and black jumpsuit, knitted with a Kevlar like material. He wears black padded gloves on his hands, and black combat boots. In the middle of the visor of his helmet is the white outline of a chess piece, the king. [spoiler=Powers:]Enter the Shadow: Tristan's shadow is always visible, and can extend and transform into different forms. The shadow is able to extend a max of 30 feet. When the shadow is attached to an object, or person, it is able to interact with that object as if Tristan himself were. Say that his shadow grabs a hold of a rooftop. Tristan can use the shadow as a sort of tether, having his shadow reel him up to the top. The same could be said for things that interact with his shadow. If his shadow were stepped on, he would feel the pressure of the foot wherever his shadow was stepped on. Shadow Shield: The shadow can manifest itself off of the ground in an spherical like shape, and harden it's outer shell. The shield can envelop around Tristan himself, The impact of hits on the shield still affect Tristan, but attacks that hit the shield and aren't able to pierce it are non-lethal to him. Shadow Sneak: Tristan can sink into any shadow that isn't his own, concealing his presence from the light. In this state, Tristan's shadow disappears and is no longer able to interact with the physical world. However, Tristan himself can make any part of his body reappear from the shadow he resides in from any point in the shadow's vicinity.

Kexotero
As a heads up, I'm looking to review all applications by Friday at the latest. If you're interested in participating, I highly suggest you at least post a WIP to indicate your interest.I can do more than that. Here is my complete character sheet. [spoiler=Silas Artugo // Scorpion Lord] “I guess I have to sting once more. Ah Well.” [spoiler=Silas Artugo Identity] Full Name: Silas Artugo Age: 22 Gender: Male City of Origin: Danville, Illinois Appearance: Silas Artugo makes you think of a surprising person. He has slanted chestnut eyes and is 6 feet 4 inches. His silky, curly, black hair is neck-length and is worn in a handsome, bowl cut style. He is very tall and has a thin build. His skin is cream-colored. He has thin cheekbones and a prominent nose. His wardrobe is loose, baggy, and practical, with a mostly red and yellow color scheme. To hide his identity as Scorpion Lord, he hides his red, long scorpion tail up the back of his shirt. His shirt usually has sewing stitches because sometimes his scorpion tail cuts through his clothes by accident. He sometimes wears green-colored sunglasses that he usually wears on a sunny day. He wears a big green winter coat and grey snow pants when it's Winter to keep himself and his tail warm. Personality: Silas is a very fun person to have around, and is a pretty cool person to know. When he was young, before he discovered he was a metahuman, he was very energetic and playful, and he still is playful, but not as energetic as before. He is single and lonely, and is looking for a girlfriend to have fun with. He also is a bit lazy when not fighting crime, using his tail to pull stuff like TV remotes or chips torwards himself. Like all superheroes, he does have his flaws though, and his flaw is that he always aims to stop the criminal first. He prefers to have his team save the hostages while he goes after the villain. He prefers to stop the monster over getting the citizen evacuated. The list goes on, but the main point is that he focuses on stopping the villain before worrying over citizens injuries. He also can be easier to trick than the others, but he still cannot be tricked easily. Overview: Silas was born in Danville, Illinois to Hank Artugo, a ordinary Walmart employee, and Lucy Jonez, a metahuman with the powers to manipulate and turn herself into string. Silas was born with a scorpion tail on his back, which automatically qualified him into being a metahuman. While Hank was very surprised and happy, Lucy was very sad since she was scared that Silas would choose to be a hero instead of Lucy's job as a store manager, and get killed while fighting crime. In order to try to stop the government from finding out about the scorpion tail, Lucy decided to use string to tie up Silas's tail to his back to hide it. During Silas's first day of middle school, however, Silas was picked on by some bullies, and Silas was so scared and mad that his tail snapped Lucy's thread, exposing himself as a metahuman and scaring off the bullies. Untill this moment, Silas thought he was a ordinary human, but when he saw the tail, he was so surprised that he fainted. When he woke up, he was in a hospital where scientists were studying his scorpion tail. Lucy, depressed when she saw Silas, fainted on the playground park with his scorpion tail showing, she took him to the hospital and finally told the government that Silas had the Dresden Marker. Now that Silas was declared a metahuman, he was given a paper declaring him a metahuman, and was taken to a BMA training school to train his abilities. After years of vigorous training, Silas Artugo was able to leave the school four months later with a mastery of his scorpion tail. Silas, however came back to see that the store Lucy managed was being attacked by a metahuman villain known as The Firecracker, who had the ability to create telekinetic fire that he could send out alongsides dynamite to create a explosive shot of power. Wanting to protect Lucy, Silas tried to fight The Firecracker, and succeded, albeit with small injuries. Amazed that he was able to take out the villain The Firecracker, Silas was very happy and he decided that he wanted to become a hero. With some help from Silas's friends, he was able to draw up a hero after talking over 5 years on how it should look like. After sending the design and the superhero forms to the BMA, which accepted his forms, he was sent to Liberty City, where he would be a part of a team of heroes. [spoiler=Scorpion Lord Identity] Alias: Scorpion Lord Costume: In Silas's Scorpion Lord costume, he wears a red spandex suit with various spiky patterns. There is a small hole cut into the back which his scorpion tail can come through. His pants are spandex as well, and he has metal boots in case he needs to kick. He has metal gloves for close-ranged combat, and his own tail has a lightweight metal armor coating that gives himself defense as well as protection to his tail. Powers: *Scorpion Tail/Form: Silas's Dresden Marker Ability gave him a extra scorpion tail appendage which was a part of his back when he was born. Through some extensive training, Silas Artugo was able to harness his scorpion tail as a weapon. Silas has a variety of abilities he can use the tail for, such as launching the tail at extremely fast speeds at his enemies or to grab any ledges to pull himself up from a fall. The tail cannot pierce through titanium, though, and it is extremely sensitive to coldness. If Silas gets hurt enough, the tail can cover up Silas into the form of a giant scorpion untill Silas is safe. This form gives Silas extremely powerful pincers that can cut through steel, and Silas gains a poisonous sting, but if Silas overuses this form, he will lose consciousness. If his tail is ripped off, Silas goes unconscious instantly, and it takes 24 hours for his tail to regrow and for Silas to wake up again. *Light-Up: Silas gained this supportive ability at the age of 14 during his puberty, allowing himself to create non-damaging balls of light, allowing himself to create markers of light to guide himself whenever he is someplace dark. This ability can be used to stun enemies as well in a burst of light, but this takes a bit of stanima from Silas. Silas can also put a ball of light inside of himself or into others to make them light up, but this makes the person who is lit up blind untill the ball of light wears off. Here is my character for the thing. I completed it over a few hours and I was inspired by the Marvel character Scorpion.
Admiral_Stalfos19
Quick update. Unspoilered the Powers section on my app because spoilers were being dumb. I also had to merge the two paragraphs that I had for Giovanna's personality into a one massive one... also because spoilers were being dumb. Apologies if this was against your wishes Rinne, but my hand was forced :/ ... In any case, I'll finish the app off tomorrow morning if I can. EDIT: Relocated app here. Thankfully it solved most of the problems, but Personality spoiler still refuses to co-operate >:\ [spoiler=Giovanna 'Bones' Vignali, An Angel of Necrotic Properties]//"I see how it is; you get off on murder and hurting others. Let me show you why it's a bad idea."Personal InformationFull Name: Giovanna VignaliAge: 19Gender: FemaleCity of Origin: New York, NY[spoiler=Appearance:]Giovanna is slightly on the taller side of average height for young women, standing at 170cm (5' 7"). However, she actually appears to be underweight for someone of her height, only weighing in at 52kg (114lbs). Interestingly, she has a somewhat average figure with a BWH ratio of 24-17-23 if measured in inches and 61-43-58 if measured in centimeters... although this is likely due to breast and buttock implants that she was given. The outlines of Giovanna's skeleton can be seen from under any exposed skin, and although her current outfit choice hides this rather well, this would especially be evident if she were to wear any kind of swimsuit... or anything skintight, for that matter. Speaking of outfits, Giovanna wears a short-sleeved white shirt and a light blue skirt that reaches the full length of her legs, both of which are loose-fitting. She also wears a light blue vest, red and white sneakers and white mid-length socks, and a pair of white finger-less gloves, and ties a red ribbon around the neck of her shirt so it makes a bow. Giovanna has violet eyes that appear a deeper color than usual when in her costume, for whatever reason, and her hair is naturally blonde, although it may appear a pale orange under certain lighting. However, the back of Giovanna's hair is often heavily dyed purple when in her costume; so much so that even after a couple solid washes in the shower, there are still traces of that purple dye in enough quantities to make the back of her hair appear pink rather than the natural blonde. [spoiler=Personality:]A sweet girl at heart, Giovanna is more than happy to lend a smile, and a hand to those who need it. To a friend, a family member, or even a stranger who proves to be a nice person, Giovanna's selflessness knows no bounds, and she genuinely wants to alleviate any problems that they have to the best of her abilities. All she asks in return is that they don't take her selflessness for granted, and that they show appreciation for her having put the time aside to try and help them in the first place. This doesn't mean to say that Giovanna will slave herself away for just anyone, and she'll certainly not do so if one demands this from her. She also won't help people that are mean or rude or anything like that, and won't do anything that she views as wrong, regardless of who asks it of her. Staying within those confines, however, is well worth the resulting friendship of Giovanna, as she is loyal to the very end, and is just polite in general. She aims to make many friends, and her charisma allows this to be somewhat of a reality. While she has few problems with the other heroes, if any, Giovanna gets a certain vibe from the BMA officials that they work with, and it's this vibe that she can't help but feel uncomfortable with. It should be noted that Giovanna has a harder time with the BMA's mandatory physical training regime than the other heroes, although this isn't to an unacceptable degree. However, as she'd been used to hard work since her preteens, this training regime isn't the thing that she's concerned with; it's the constant conditioning that comes with it. Truth be told, Giovanna finds the conditioning that the BMA officials conduct on her a huge intrusion to her well-being. She dislikes being told that her being underweight is a problem, being adamant that if she truly felt that it was a problem, she would've already dealt with it herself or sought help for it. It's not even that she doesn't care about her health (which is false, to an extent), but rather that she doesn't want others to be concerned for her, and dislikes it when they insist on expressing such concerns. Giovanna has always viewed herself as a self-reliant individual, but doesn't mind asking for help when she believes she needs it, and will appreciate any aid she gets whether she openly asked for it or otherwise. That's just a part of being a kind soul.[spoiler=Overview:]Even though one would expect her to be in some form of college by now, Giovanna Vignali is actually one of the more recent recruits that had been picked up by agents working for the Bureau of Metahuman Activity, under the Metahuman Registration Act of 1956. But before that, the only real thing Giovanna was notable for was tying with her twin brother Giovanni Vignali for being the eldest of 10 children, who'd been born by an Asia Perrotto, who later became Asia Vignali through marriage, and a Bernardo Vignali. Giovanna was also one of seven children that had been birthed out of wedlock, and had not known who her father was for the first three years of her life. Asia and Bernardo were both poor parents, and this became more and more of a problem as the family grew in size. Both of them had to go without meals from time to time just to ensure there was enough for the children. This was something that Giovanna had picked up on as well, and as Asia birthed triplets to round out the family, Giovanna too had sacrificed meals to keep the rest of the family out of starvation. However, she went much further than her parents did, and her body paid the price. No-one in the family knew that Giovanna was beginning to suffer from anorexia due to her selfless sacrifices of meals... until Giovanni inadvertently walked in on her as she was taking a shower. Since then, the two twins had consist fall-out that would last for minutes, and that all started when Giovanna gave one of her meals to Sabrina, Asia and Bernardo's youngest daughter at 5 years old, only for Giovanni to angrily snatch the plate from Sabrina and slam it back in front of Giovanna, breaking the plate in the process. It had taken a whole month to repair the relationship between the two twins, but eventually, Giovanna saw the error of her ways, and realized that if she truly wanted to help ensure the family would get fed, then she should've got a job a long time ago so that she could help pay for more food. So that's what she set out to do. Giovanna had offered to walk Sabrina to school so that she could take such an opportunity. It was a nice walk the two went on, and Giovanna had been watching the skies and daydreaming about the future that could have been set in store for her. However, that dream had shattered when she heard a scream of pain coming from the poor little Sabrina; it turned out that Sabrina had tripped as she was getting off the sidewalk to cross the road, and that her knees had taken the brunt of the resulting fall. Giovanna tried help Sabrina up on her feet, but she fell once again the first time, and by the time she was able to stand upright, an eighteen-wheeled delivery truck had been cruising along the road headed straight for the both of them. Giovanna would've only had enough time to save herself but, knowing that she could never cope with the guilt of allowing Sabrina to die on her own, she instead closed her eyes and cradled her injured sister as tightly towards her body as she could. That must have been when her powers had awakened, yet she barely had any recollection of what happened that day besides bracing for death. Giovanna eventually opened her eyes again, and the first thing she noted was that the top she was wearing had been ripped to shreds. She was still cradling a now terrified Sabrina, whose eyes had shot wide open when the truck crashed into Giovanna. But it wasn't until she looked over her shoulder that Giovanna realized what had happened, shocked at the sight of the myriad of bones that sprouted from her back in order to bring the delivery truck to a halt. Some of these bones had been entangled inside the metal, and it wasn't until she tried to move that she felt them tugging on her back, attempting to drag the eighteen wheeler with her. The scraping of the metal also scared Sabrina to no end. It was at this time that BMA agents arrived onto the scene, taking Sabrina from Giovanna's arms and helping the latter to pry herself free from the wreckage. They had then took Giovanna in as per required by the Metahuman Registration Act, leaving the 19-year-old girl to wonder if she'll ever see her family again.Combat InformationAlias: Bones[spoiler=Costume:]Aside from dying the back of her purple, Bones wears a special black and purple bodysuit that she puts on before going out on a mission. Unlike most bodysuits, this one isn't skintight, but rather loose fitting as per her preferences. However, the bodysuit has regenerative properties that activate whenever a sprouted bone pierces through it. This allows Bones to maintain her modesty regardless of how reckless she is in bringing out these bone constructs that she's capable of making... and she's tried destroying the bodysuit before. The regenerative properties of the bodysuit also cuts down on time and materials. Bones also puts on a choker before going out on a mission, and this has technology that suppresses the pain she feels when expanding and retracting the bones she sprouts, reducing the chances of such pain overwhelming her senses. [spoiler=Powers:]The most notable power Bones has is the ability to sprout... well, bones, from any and every point of her body. These bones can sprout out further to form any number of appendages that Bones sees fit, and she can grow them to gargantuan sizes if that is what she so wishes or feels as though she needs to. These monstrosities of pure bone may appear to be heavy and cumbersome, but the Dresden Marker allows Bones to move and manipulate these bone constructs with as much agility as with any part of her true body. The bones are more than strong enough to support her weight on their own, allowing her to scale buildings at a greatly accelerated speed over traditional equipment. They also seem to be indestructible as not even explosives are known to damage them. However, Bones' biggest weakness with this power is that pain courses through her body as she expands and retracts the bones in and out of her body, and the faster she attempts to do so, the more it hurts her.Miscellaneous InformationMain Theme Song: Alive, by KrewellaBattle Theme Song: Valkyria Chronicles II OST: Final BattleIdeal Voice Actresses: Wendee Lee (En)/Mikako Takahashi (Jp)Tidbits of Trivia:Although she realizes that she's underweight, Giovanna denies suffering from anorexia. However, the fact she physically can't eat a full-sized meal, only managing to get down as much food as one would expect from a preschool girl before feeling full, may suggest otherwise.Giovanna tries her best to follow a strict vegan diet. She loves ice-cream and similar things though, but also can't stand any other type of processed foods. Giovanna can sometimes be seen downing a full glass of milk on the very rare occasion. This is only so she can get some source of Vitamin B12 into her system, something that most vegan diets lack; especially those that had been poorly planned to begin with.Due to her Italian heritage, it's only natural that Giovanna's favorite food is of Italian cuisine. Specifically, Giovanna's favorite dish is Pasta E Ceci Alla Toscana (Tuscan-style pasta and chick-peas) served inside a hollowed loaf of Tuscan bread. Hälō
[spoiler= Bruno Falk''] ' "Com'on, I'm starving...." Name: Bruno FalkCity of Origin: New YorkAge: 20Gender: MaleAlias: Hummingbird [spoiler=Personality] In many ways Bruno’s personality is defined by his powers. Even before his abilities manifested, the boy was rash, impulsive, and always seeking new and exciting experience. Growing up in the rough side of the city, Bruno has never taken kindly to authority or anything that would serve to slow him down. This rebelliousness usually shows it's self during missions, where Bruno has developed a reputation for disregarding orders that don't fall in line with his own thoughts and opinions about the situation at hand. Often prone to move faster than he thinks, Bruno is very poor and planning and reasoning, a trait that often serves as his greatest weakness. Bruno is extremely confident in own ability, and is always ready to prove his superiority to any and everyone who questions him. Though he seems to come off as an airhead, Bruno can be surprisingly clever at times, and is often considered wild card because of his unorthodox fighting style and creativity when it comes to using his powers. Additionally, do to the nature of his mutation, Bruno is extremely impatient; often claiming that world is moving in slow motion, and getting irritated when forced to wait for extended periods of time. Due to his accelerated metabolism, Bruno’s requires a monstrous amount of food to stay active. Because of this, the boy is rarely seen not eating, and will often complain about being hungry. Short Bio: An only child, Bruno spent the majority of his childhood causing trouble with a group of neighborhood boys. Every day after school, him and his gang would assemble at their designated meeting point, and plan their shenanigans for the evening. Their pranks ranged from taking cars for joyrides, spray painting the fronts of buildings, and even the occasional shop lifting. Upon turning 15, Bruno began to show signs of mutation. And with his new found powers, he was able to help escalate his gang's activities to a whole new level. Enjoying two years of idol-worship by his peers, Bruno was finally confronted by a Hero whilst pulling of one of his usual gigs. Only narrowly escaping his pursuer after a day-long game of cat a mouse around the city, Bruno realized that there were better uses for his powers, and resolved to become a Hero. [spoiler=Abilities:] Unbalanced Meta-Human Philology: Whilst Bruno has also developed enhanced physical traits like all meta-humans. The nature of his mutation has seemingly directed the lion's share of his enhanced power to his legs; meaning that his upper body strength is considered sub par by meta-human standards. High Speed Physiological Adaptions: Bruno has developed unique body chemistry that allows him to resist the effects friction, kinetic impact and low oxygen.Further more he has developed an extremely accelerated metabolism, which requires him to consume large amounts of food to maintain his energy. Consequently, Bruno boasts a low stamina, and must refuel himself during long battles, less he risk overexerting himself- or worse. Superhuman Speed and Reflexes: Bruno is able to move and react at speeds that would be all but impossible for any normal human. Though his top running speed has been clocked at 400 miles per hour, it has been discovered that prolonged movement at such speeds causes Bruno to burn through his calories at an even more excessive rate, and even with his enhanced reflexes he has difficulty exhibiting precision control. This could possible be remedied through extensive training, however. Because of the nature of his powers, Bruno's brain his constantly working faster than normal, making him easily distracted and extraordinarily impatient. Bruno's resting heart rate is almost double that of a normal human's. It would take roughly 42 hours for Bruno to starve to death.Bruno appears to be extremely hot on thermal scanners. [spoiler= Appearance ] Standing at 5'11 and weighing an unimpressive 148 lbs, calling Bruno slim would be a bit of an understatement. Despite his weight, the boy is surprisingly well toned, with legs that resemble those of Olympic runners. One will never see Bruno without something to eat in his hands whilst not in the field, and you frequently find crumbs on his face and clothes. Given his history as a delinquent, it should come to no surprise that Bruno's standard outfits consist of ripped jeans and dark hoodies, and that the boy's default expression is one of someone who is not to be messed with. Ironically, this "bad boy" image often quickly fades, as Bruno's eyes will always light up like a child's when around food. Though his adaptions negate the need for goggles, Bruno will often times still keep his favorite pair strapped to the side of his head as a reminder of his childhood. His hair is always notably messy because of his constant high-speed movement, though it only lends itself to the whole delinquent image. [spoiler=Costume] The main piece of Hummingbird's costume a bright green visor. Serving obscure his identity, as well as present him with any necessary mission info such as objective locations. This useful piece of tech also functions as a communications device for him and his team, and is designed to be able to withstand high amounts of friction. Additionally, Bruno's standard gear includes a black formfitting body suit with green trim, and a small pouch at his side to store food and anything else that could be useful for the mission at hand. This suit is not only highly durably but specially designed to be functional after being put through high-speed movement.

bury the year
Are you still accepting? No, at the moment we are not. (That reminds me, I need to change the title.) However, I do plan on reopening applications sometime after the first few missions are complete. I'll let you know when that is.
