Rules:
-All Leaderboard rules apply.
First to 3 votes or most votes by the deadline wins.
All voters must elaborate on their votes.
Both contestants have the right to refuse votes, but must explain why they don't accept it.
-Written cards are allowed. (Must be in written format, cards with blank pictures are not acceptable)
-Cards must be PM'd to me.
-Remove any evidence of the card being made by you to ensure anonymity.
-In case a downtime happens, the deadlines may be extended.

Rewards:
-The winner gets a rep from the loser.
-All voters get a rep for voting.

Deadlines:
-Cards must be finished 48 hours after this post.
-Voting deadline 3 days after cards are posted.
Requirement:
-Card that supports or works well with Rank-up Magic Astral Force

 

Card A:

Xyz Construct

Fiend/Effect

DARK, Rank 6

2 Level 6 monsters

Once per turn, you can reduce this card's Rank by 1. This card gains effects based on the number of Xyz monsters attached to this card as Xyz Material.

- 1 or more: Once per turn, you can attach 1 card from your Graveyard to this card as Xyz Material.

- 2 or more: This card gains 1000 ATK and DEF for each Xyz monster attached to this card as Xyz Material.

- 3 or more: If a card effect is activated: You can detach one Xyz Material from this card to negate its effect and destroy it.

- 4 or more: Your opponent cannot Xyz Summon.

- 5 or more: Once per turn, you can inflict 1000 damage to your opponent for each Xyz monster attached to this card as Xyz Material.

- 6 or more: Attach all Xyz Monsters in your opponent's Extra Deck to this card as Xyz Material.

-10 or more: Attach all cards from your opponent's Deck to this card as Xyz Material.

 

Card B:

2 Level 5 monsters
Once per turn: you can banish 1 monster from your graveyard; this card's rank becomes equal to that monster's level/rank and this card becomes the same type and attribute as that monster. These changes last until the End Phase. During your opponent's End Phase, if this card is in your graveyard and you control no xyz monsters: you can banish 1 xyz monster from your graveyard; special summon this card and if you do, attach 1 spell/trap card from your graveyard to it as an xyz material (if possible).

I would advise against doing an Archetype, since voters are less inclined to grade how they interact with one another). Though I don't know if Striker will permit Archetype challenges for Leaderboard reasons; most of the time, they are single cards.

 

EDIT: Archetype challenges are permissible, but Striker and I highly advise against it.

Let's see then.

 

Card A can be Astral Forced over Number 80/85, Evilswarm Thanatos/Nightmare, Steelswarm Roach and Maestroke; though only one really seeing use at the moment is 80 and probably Mae (but I may be out of date with this one). Anyway, first three effects are fine but then we reach the 4 mat one. That one alone is a big middle finger to a good chunk of Decks nowadays, though unlike Number 86 (which kills off NS/SSing), you can still Synchro/Fusion/Ritual and whatever, but yeah forget about going into Castel or whatever.

 

5 effect shouldn't be doing too much damage, unless you decided to repeatedly spam Astral Force from Rank 2 -> 4 -> 6. So...N43/65/96 (for whatever reason you're running these now) -> aforementioned R4s -> this. And now the 6 and 10 effects; yeah, what made you think attaching cards from your opponent's Deck was a good idea? Granted, unless you have an effect like Ghostrick Angel of Mischief / Dorklord (I can't be bothered to remember Konami's English name for that) or can keep attaching cards every turn, you probably won't get there, but attaching ALL cards from your opponent's Deck after 10 mats? Yeah, just no.

 

I also should've asked for card A's actual stats to be printed (though I will assume it's ?/? given its 2 mat effect).

Card B at least has some merit in Rank 5 decks and can help with higher Xyz plays (if you can somehow find space for this card in there). While it can revive itself every turn, you can't have Xyz monsters on-board and you have to banish a dead one before you do, so that will limit the amount of times you can really use this card to its best potential. The restriction may be a turnoff for a lot of R5 decks, since you'll probably have at least 1 out in most cases. It's best used in mid/late game when you have ample S/T fodder to attach from, but otherwise not really much you can do with this.

In all, card A was fine up until its later effects, which then became reminiscent of things that belong in Joke/OP cards. The 10 effect is a worse version of Etheric Amen's (it still stole a good chunk of cards, but not the entirety of the opponent's Deck; however much they'd have by the time you reach that many mats). Card B isn't as bad, but given its restrictions, you're going to be pressed finding a viable Deck to run this in nowadays that also can run Astral Force.
