Aix
[spoiler=Chivalry Star] Personal Information Name: Alexandre du Lac Age: 21 Sex: Male [spoiler=Appearance]Alexandre is quite striking with his white hair and red eyes, not to mention handsome. He stands at 170 cm, so he is actually shorter than most men, but he has a lean and well-toned build. [spoiler=Personality]A heart filled with justice and virtue, and devoid of almost everything else. Alexandre is nihilistic, hedonistic, and misanthropic inside; yet even so, he insists on saving others and showing kindness to others. Is it self-satisfaction? That is only part of it. He clings to it because there is nothing else. The world is ugly. People are ugly. There is no meaning to life, and everyone is ultimately just stumbling through thinking of themselves. This selfishness utterly appalls him. Alex may be a hypocrite because he drinks, smokes, and fucks like everyone else does, but he takes solace in the fact that he also devotes himself to something to something higher, something greater than himself. He does not realize it, but in addition to mental stability, his ideals also offer him a sense of superiority against others. As he interacts with people, he enjoys discovering their selfish and corrupt natures; in his flesh relations with women, he derives a certain perverted pleasure in seeing how depraved and shallow these people are; lastly, on the job, he is more than happy to torment or kill criminals, who are the lowest of the low. He has a sort of sociopathic charisma that he knows full well how to use so that no one seems to notice what a twisted and empty person he really is. Alas, to everyone but those who are with him in his darkest moments, he appears as the model policeman and colleague, extremely noble, charming, and always willing to help. Further details. He has a highly logic-based mind, which is great for analysis, including psychoanalysis. He can easily glean other's intents. While he is generally calm, if something gets on his nerves, he is capable of acting quite irrationally, often mistaking his feelings as justice. He can become very consumed with revenge. He delights in discovering new things. This delight was very rare in his life and he has had limited working knowledge of the world out there. [spoiler=Biography]Alexandre was born in Shi Kago, a poverty-stricken city not too far from Phiore, as the son of a pastor. Although he lived in the unseen poorer districts, his household was relatively affluent and he was able to receive a proper education with private tutors. His father was grooming him to inherit the church when he got older, but as Alex got older, he saw what a corrupt man his father was, swindling the masses for their money, and he began to avoid the man. Tensions in the du Lac family started to strain, and the situation deteriorated, especially when Alexandre's mother sided with Alex on the church business. His back to a wall, Alex's father started asserting his dominance in the household physically. One day, when he was fifteen, Alex ran away from home. It did not go well for him at first, as the upper class pretty boy got mugged pretty quickly on the streets of Shi Kago. Yet he was eventually picked up by a few kids on the street, and got alon with them. They sympathized with him when he said he ran away from an abusive home, many of them had similar circumstances. He lived with his newfound friends for a few days, until he was convinced to go back to try to convince his father to give him some money. However, getting home, he found that his mother had died. His father refused to speak of the issue and only beat him, but soon Alex realized that his mother had suffered intense physical abuse, and had died from a brain injury inflicted by his father. Horrified, Alex stole the contents of his father's safe and ran away again, never to return. He fell into depression as he realized that he had partially caused his mother's death as his father's temperament exacerbated when he ran away. He blamed himself for not being there to protect his mother, and the guilt is something that would stay with him for the rest of his days. In order to bring his spirits up, his friends used his money to go partying, buy drugs, and hire hookers. The money soon ran out, and the group decided that they would join a mafia family together, a choice made by so many other youths in that city. A few years passed, and Alexandre had worked his way up in the mafia ranks. His experienced here shaped his view of the world, seeing how disgusting and pitiful people were. He was able to enjoy an expensive lifestyle, until the gang wars took away his friends. The deaths of his friends hit him hard and left him with nothing left. He considered leaving, but was unable to since the mafia would just hunt him down and he had nowhere to go anyway. One day, in a police raid instigated by a rival gang, Alexandre simply gave himself up and told the officer to shoot him, because he was tired of this life. The officer didn't shoot him, telling him he was still far too young to be giving up on life. Because of the low amount of proof they had on him, as he was a meticulous gangster, his sentence was only a year and a half. During that time, the officer would visit him in jail. He told Alex that if he wanted to be free of the crime life, he would have to help the police destroy that mafia family. With some persuasion, Alex complied, and there was one less mafia family on the streets of Shi Kago. When Alex got out of jail, the officer told him to become a police officer. The police officer preached strongly, and Alex was reminded of his father, but he couldn't help but see that the police officer truly believed in what he was saying. He became inspired by how wholeheartedly the old policeman lived his life, and applied to join the police force. Because of his connections with the officer, he was able to get in despite his criminal past. A year later, during the investigation of a serial killer in Shi Kago, the old officer was killed. No matter how much Alexandre searched, he could not find the killer. With the loss of this new father figure in his life, Alexandre once more fell into depression, yet he clung onto the ideals which the old officer spoke of. Since then, most of his time was spent fighting crime; he has worked countless hours overtime, stretching his body to the limits. Because of all the stress he built up during work, he couldn't help but take breaks sometimes, helping himself to a few drinks and mingle with some of the disgusting pigs known as women. The reappearance of the serial killer in Shi Kago led to a direct confrontation. However, Alexandre was unable to do anything against him because the killer was a Nen user. The serial killer enjoyed blabbing to his victims, and although Alexandre was unable to understand what the killer was talking about, he heard that the killer would be entering the Hunter Exam and killing people known as the 108 Stars there. The Nen Police showed up in the nick of time and saved him. They took him back to the police station, and told them to stop investigating the killer, because it was under their jurisdiction now. Realizing that the Nen Police wouldn't allow him to continue, Alexandre withheld the information the serial killer had given, intent on chasing after the murderer himself and mete justice with his own hands. Deciding it was time to leave the city he had stayed all his life in once and for all, Alexandre departed for the Hunter Exam to become a Blacklist Hunter. [spoiler=Abilities]Enhanced Speed and Reflexes: Even though his physical limits have not been broken, Alexandre's agility and reaction time is incredible, allowing to even jump out of the way when a gunman is about to pull the trigger. Used to chasing people down, he is a very fast sprinter. Street Fighting: All is fair in love and war, Alexandre will not hesitate to go for weak spots or throw dirt in people's eyes. He is a highly proficient hand-to-hand combat fighter and makes full use of his superior speed to evade attacks even in the tight quarters he is used to fighting in. Marksmanship: Alexandre is capable of accurately firing most firearms, and carries a handgun around. High Intellect: An extremely bright individual, Alexandre excelled as a gangster and as a detective due to his cunning and wit. Nen Alexandre is one of the very rare Specialists. Ares Panoptes (Future Ability): Infusing an area with Nen, Alexandre creates an eye of a size depending on how much Nen is used and whether he can spread the Nen into a larger area required for a larger eye. While closed, the created eyes can only be detected with Gyo. When open, Alexandre is capable of seeing through the eye (the eye is not a Conjured object and is invisible to normal people). In addition to being used for monitoring and reconnaissance, the opened eye creates a weak spot on whatever it is placed on, since the area is temporarily converted to weak flesh. When placed on a Nen user, the Nen nodes in that area are conrolled by Alex while the eye is open, hence the area cannot be protected using Nen techniques like Ryu. When the eye is blinded or destroyed, it disappears after a second has passed, leaving an injured area behind. Otherwise, the eyes disappear after 24 hours. The eyes also have other special abilities that are to be revealed.Propagation Beam: The eye is capable of Emitting a weak laser beam attack at whatever it is looking at. This beam of Nen can also create another eye where it hits, unless it is defended against with Nen. [spoiler=Miscellaneous]Theme Song: Howling by abingdon boys schoolAlex hates animals and children, not only finding them annoying, but also disgusting lumps of flesh with even less higher meaning than humans. Yui
[spoiler=Desert Star]"Your problem is precisely that. Yours."Name: RaziaAge: 25Sex: Female Motivation: Razia seeks power so that she can return the chaotic and lawless Screaming Desert to the grand empire it was centuries ago.[spoiler=Appearance]Standing at 6'2" and weighing 167 pounds, Razia is tall even by Screaming Desert standards. Like many natives of the desert, she sports dark skin and golden hair and eyes. Also like many who live in the Screaming Desert, Razia has some battle scars to be seen. An X-shaped scar on the right arm, a small cut on the left cheek, a large slice running diagonally across her back, and a roughly round scar from an arrow to the left of her abdomen. Razia's attire is also clearly from the Screaming Desert as well, with many loose pieces of thin cloth and traditional Screaming Desert armor.[spoiler=Personality]Razia does not funk around. She's a woman with a plan, and she has every intention of sticking to her plan no matter what others thing of it. This can make her seem standoffish at times when people disagree with her, but if somebody can prove that in the long run, their decision really is for the better, it's not impossible that Razia will concede to what they think, but that doesn't mean her mind will be changed by any means. She's been putting in a lot of work to get this far for what she's sure is a good cause, and has only been out of her homeland for a single year, so she's bound to be at least a little stuck to her own ways.Razia is also very proud of her native Screaming Desert, not for what it is, but what it used to be. Ultimately, her goal is to restore the violent and chaotic desert to the mighty empire of times long-since past, and she's willing to take any helping hands she can trust on the matter. Being her ally and her friend are two different experiences, however, as are being her enemy or her foe. She understands that allies and friends or enemies and foes are not always one and the same, and she keeps a close eye on anyone that matters to her for this very reason. With all this said, she's got flaws of her own too. Razia can become paranoid easily, and she'll often react to this paranoia with violence. She also realizes that, no matter how strong she can become, Razia has only taken the name and armor of the legendary First Empress, and is only chasing her namesake's shadow. A girl chasing fairy tales, as it were; a phrase she can sometimes think of about herself that brings no end of doubting herself and her goals. Finally, perhaps Razia's greatest flaw is that she realizes she has these and other problems, and worries herself too much over thinking about how she can get rid of them. To avoid paranoia, she simply chooses to not trust anyone under any circumstance. To avoid believing she's just a girl chasing fairy tales, she pushes herself too hard to become powerful with no regard for her own well-being.Razia has also sworn never to take a life. It's common knowledge back home that everyone joins the dead someday, and she sees no reason to hasten the process when a person still has life in them. She'll fight like hell if she has to, but she refuses to kill, even if it would put her own life in danger. This rule also applies to animals. Except scorpions. funk those things.[spoiler=Biography]The legends and tales of the great kingdom buried beneath the dunes of the Screaming Desert are common knowledge among the desert's residents. Razia - birth name Noha Kassab - and her family in particular can carefully and accurately trace their bloodline back to the very kings of the desert of old, but in a place where law does not exist, royal blood means nothing. Noha's family was just as vulnerable as any other. And a young, naive Noha would have none of this any longer. No more fighting, no more vicious bandit gangs ruling the desert, and no more having to fear if an innocent person would ever see the sun rise or set again.Noha became obsessed with the old stories. At the time, she had one goal above all else: find the old capitol. The place where the last emperor made his final stand against the destruction that swept across the old kingdom. She trained her body for travel in the desert, and her mind for finding her destination. At only fourteen years old, Noha left home, swearing not to return to her small village until she could do so carrying the flag of a united rule.Finding the capitol took six years, and finding the ancient city's royal crypt under a series of towering dunes took one more. But Noha eventually found precisely what she was looking for. The body of the old kingdom's founder; the First Ruler. Empress Razia. Preserved and mummified, and still wearing the ancient armor of legend. Now, by Screaming Desert "laws", stealing from the dead was strictly prohibited, lest you wanted the spirit of the deceased to replace your soul for their own. It was purely superstition, but in this case, that was precisely what Noha had wanted. She left the capitol donning the ancient leather armor of Empress Razia. On that day, Noha threw away her old name and took up the name of the legendary empress, aiming to do just as she did and unite the desert under one banner. Her attempts thus far have been largely unsuccessful. Razia simply lacked the sheer power to not only stop a gang of bandits, but ensure that other bandits would catch word of it. Seeking greater power, Razia left the Screaming Desert one year ago.Her time outside of the desert has been full of surprises. It was also here that she learned more about Hunters; truly exceptional people with vast power, capable of many great feats. Becoming one seemed like the best route to put her home back together. And so she studied, and she trained her body even further. And when the words "Hunter Exam" came to her notice on a poster one day, Razia knew the time had come.[spoiler=Abilities]Unarmed Combat Expertise: You don't just run around in the Screaming Desert for seven years and not pick up some combat experience from it. Razia is very proficient in unarmed combat, and is especially skilled at disarming and subduing her opponents. Her fighting style largely depends on getting a grip on the opponent and using raw strength from there to keep the fight under her control, generally defeating opponents without killing or seriously harming them.Nen: Razia has two Hatsu abilities yet to be discovered within her. She is a Conjurer and Manipulator.Rise, My Soldiers!: This Conjuration ability summons forth a humanoid figure made entirely of densely-packed sand, just barely smaller than Razia herself. The soldier is capable of acting independantly of Razia, but she is able to mentally issue it commands. However, this is a one-way mental link; her soldier cannot transfer thoughts or sensations to Razia. This ability's description may be updated throughout the RP as the characters and their abilities grow stronger. My Domain: This Manipulation ability allows Razia to control sand, manipulating its shape, density, and sturdiness. She can create weapons, walls, moving platforms, or even buildings with sufficient sand. This ability's description may be updated throughout the RP as the characters and their abilities grow stronger.
Love of Ghibli
I really wanted to develop this character last time so I'll give it another shot. If this is not acceptable I will start from scratch. [spoiler: Lettess B. Sprout]Username: The Culinary StarName: Lettess B. SproutAge: 15Gender: MaleRace: Human[spoiler: Appearance:]Height: 5'4 Weight: 140 lbs (63 k.g) [spoiler: Personality:] Ever the friendly fellow Lettess' is one of those people who loves to watch others be happy. Literally the happiness of others genuinely makes him happy. Along that line of thought he is more happy when he is around large groups of people. Lettess believes that everyone is in charge of their own happiness. Negative emotions such as anger and sadness stem from outward events that one allows themselves to be affected by. Of course there are some understandable events such as a death in which it is perfectly okay to feel sad, but mostly he feels one cannot let negative energy into ones space. Because of this thought Lettess comes sometimes comes across obnoxious or a false sense of immortality. However he usually has the best of intentions. Lettess is perfectly straightforward as does not possess the age and the wisdom to know self restraint or better explained...when to keep his mouth shut. Nevertheless, he makes up for it buy being deliciously selfless as he always willing to help and serve others. Most commonly though this is with food. [spoiler: Motivation:] The Sprout family is actually a long line of Gourmet Chefs, but Lettess is fixated with seeing the world and meeting all kinds of people. Trying to live life at its fullest, Lettess' goal is to become a full fledged Bishokuya (Gourmet Hunter) travelling the world seraching for new kinds of ingredients and spices all while meeting new people. This way he can have a full marriage of his upholding his families tradition and his love of travel. [spoiler: Biography]Biography: Lettess was born into the long line of chefs where his life was pretty normal. His family was always being hired to go around and cook for famous people and cater to high end events. Therefore, his upbringing allowed him to experience a lot of travel and happiness. When he was the age of 5 he was sent to a secret training camp where he would learn the "culinary arts" through intense meditation and drilling. Interestingly enough his family has one of those people that didn't know they knew Nen. Nen sometimes seeps out and is evident when people work extremely hard at a craft or their occupation. This is why a lot of the Sprout family's clients tend to be pro-hunters. They are able to see the Nen in the Sprout's family's food. Nevertheless while in his deep meditative arts and he felt like he wanted to entertain the concept that he could travel more and see more than he currently was. Seeing such a prideful youth, his sensei (a pro-Hunter) decided to inform him about the life of the Hunter. Granted his sensei warned him of the immense dangers of being a hunter, but Lettess definitely thought that the pros were definitely better than the potential cons. So this sensei of his taught him the basics of Nen before the Hunter exam. The intent was to give the kid some kind of advantage since he was clearly younger than the normal people who were going to take the Hunter Exam. For some reason his Nen usage was very powerful for a complete newb to the art, but he needed that handicap because the Hunter Exam was way harder than he ever imagined. He was actually lucky enough to pass the exam. Nevertheless, he passed and now he can live the glorious life of a hunter...traveling the world finding great ingredients for his family's business. [spoiler: Abilities:]Nen: As it stands Lettess is capable of using all of the base forms of Nen. However his training has allowed him to be very skilled in Ten and Ren. However thanks to his jolly, extroverted personality he has a very difficult time using Zetsu. Him using Zetsu is akin to trying to stay completely quite while you're experiencing side splitting laughter. Yes it is possible, but extremely difficult. Hand to Hand Combat: Lettess has trained in a special culinary art dedicated to the efficient use of movement to end the lives of animals that are being hunted. Due to his training he is a borderline master with the shortsword and knives. His strikes are always to fatal organs in order to end the battle quickly. His family is even capable of using the deadly "Rhythm Echo" technique. While he definitely isn't a prodigy at fighting people one would be really surprised how well he could hold his own. Cooking: Well logically Lettess is an amazing cook. To the masses anyway. To word class chefs he shows promise, but clearly not worthy of the title of chef. While it may sound harsh he literally comes from a family of world class chefs so he is most critical when it comes to food. He can see the potential to make five star meals out of any random pantry. Everything in food is something and opportunity, you just have to see it for what it is. Food Science: Due to his exstensive training as a chef Lettess has exstensive knowledge about food...and things that can be perceived as food. This is not limited to human anatomy, plant anatomy and most knowledge about organisms and living things. However that doens't really help in terms of technology, electronics and so on. He hasn't reached that far in his training. [spoiler: Miscellaneous:]Lettess is quite clearly a play on the food Lettuce.Lettess has 7 brothers and sisters and the parents of the Sprout children decided it would be fun to name them all after ingredients that you would find in a Cheese burger. Most of the Sprout family are already proficient in the use of Nen and are fully aware of their aura types. The legendary training that Lettess if proficient in is known as Food Honor that is literally from the TorikoverseThe Sprout family have the notoriety and financial means as the Zoldycks in the originial HxH
Tesability Black
[spoiler=The Volcanic Star returns]Name: Taikyu ZephyrAge: 4 years (Equal to 27 years in maturity for his race)Sex: Male[spoiler=Appearance]Like the rest of the Armagni race, he appears like a vivid-red fox with the size and muscular build of a horse. A mane of yellow fur appears on the back of his head, a pair of pure-white upper fangs appear from his muzzle and around the ankles near his paws are neon-green bands of fur. If you dare to look him in the eyes, they are a neon-green color with dark-green pupils, but still look more human than bestial. In an enraged state, however, the pupils narrow much like a snake's pupils. Upon his back is a long orange appendage, much like a leathery tentacle without any of the normal suckers on one side, capable of using various objects, even certain ones that require two hands. Such can even be used to wield some of the more heavier weaponry, such as any two-handed heavy weapon, since he can brace himself with 'four-paw traction'. He is not meant to look menacing at first, no. Instead, such an appearance is actually meant to give those who see it a false impression and trick them into charging in before setting them ablaze with the fire he literally becomes. He measures up to 5'6" at the top of his front shoulder.(I added the background after I had already shaded, which is why the lighting is way off. The whip-arm is also meant to be a bit longer than depicted in the picture. A better picture is also under scheming.)[spoiler=Personality]Being the 'lone wolf' among potential Hunters and Hunters in general if he passes the Exam, Taikyu is almost always on guard, which results in him almost constantly using at least a low level of Gyo on both his nose and his ears, since the technique is ineffective on his eyes. Because of his relatively-young age compared to more long-lived races, he's always trying to learn about the world outside of his home desert so he can better represent his species. This guarded nature is due to the fact that members of his species have been captured and studied, even killed in experiments, due to the fact that his race was originally created from pure Nen before the first two wound up breeding with each other and solidified bodies for the future generations. However, despite this stoic appearance, Taikyu is rather-naive in regards to the world beyond the desert sands, which can lead him into dangers even his guarded nature wouldn't prevent him from entering, a trait that becomes hinted at with his Nen ability type...His motivation is two-fold.~To prove his race as a separate sentient species worth being recognized by the world, instead of allowing the Armagni to continue being treated as magical curiosities among the miniature Tenere Desert, where the creatures live near the one volcano within the center of the desert's sands. There have been many an Armagni dead because of curious Hunters and he hopes that by becoming one himself, that will stop.~To prove that there are those among his race capable of using all four principles of Nen, even if one of them is usually fatal for someone of his species to use.[spoiler=Biography]Taikyu Zephyr is one of 42 currently-living members of the Armagnis species and part of a litter that has lost most of its members to curious and abusive Hunters and advanced users of Ten, which is required to shield one's self from the intense heat of the Tenere desert. After turning 1 year of age (equal in maturity to a 7-year-old human), he claimed that he would stop them after he became an adult. This idea was often hushed by the 'elders' of the packs, though he kept the idea in his head all the same. The possibility to protect his species came about during the Rite of Maturity, when a pup dives into the heart of the volcano they live in with the wish to be acknowledged by the rest of the packs as full-fledged adult. Upon adulthood, each member of the species is granted a different ability. Some of them are granted various form of wings and become sky sentries. Some can shape the sands themselves into various forms and become the builders and blacksmiths of the packs. Some are even able to raise and cultivate various plants and animals designed to thrive within the Tenere desert, though all of these are omnivorous in nature. When he did the Rite, however...nothing seemed to have changed to the pack. This almost got him expelled from the packs as a Lone Wolf, a would-be liability if part of a pack, if a pair of Hunters that had been studying the species from a distance hadn't stepped forward and asked if Taikyu could use Zetsu.Seeing as his choices were to either possibly die on his own terms or live an exiled life, Taikyu closed his eyes and focused on pulling in his energy. Normally, this would be fatal for the Armagnis due to the sudden temperature drop, but Taikyu was still standing after using the technique. The pair explained that they saw Taikyu's aura centers open up further than normal for the rest of the race while within the volcano's center, allowing him to maintain his heat aura while performing the different basic Nen techniques, allowing him to become a Hunter if he passed a particular exam. The hunter pair tried teaching him how to read and understand at least basic words after this so that he wouldn't be completely lost if in a human city, informing him of a particular event known as the Hunter Exam and granting him the idea that if he succeeded there, he could get a chance to have his race and home finally be left in peace. Soon afterwards, when he finally got the nerve to leave the desert, did he start heading for it, taking care as he traveled and learning a few tricks of his own on the way...[spoiler=Abilities:][spoiler=Species-related]~Fire Heal: As beings of fire and heat, being surrounded by such allows them to heal faster. Diving straight into a roaring flame will often fully-heal them after a few minutes.~Water/Lava Reversal: Water and Lava swap places in regards to how they affect the Armagni compared to other races. While they can drink and bathe in lava, it is water that can cause serious harm to them. It's this reversal that the race live near the active volcano in the middle of the Tenere desert.~Living Flame: At will, the Armagni can become a pure embodiment of fire, allowing others to literally run through them and set themselves ablaze while the Armagnis remains unharmed. However, they usually only use such as a damaging evasive tactic. Dousing one with water in this form can kill an Armagnis while leaving nothing behind if there's not a single part of the flame left. Otherwise, they will reform and appear severely-drained, if not with severe wounds depending on how much of the flames are left. They can also summon flames around themselves as needed for combat, such as when slashing at foes or biting them.~Heat Aura: Armagni constantly produce heat around themselves to protect them from what would be a much-colder enviroment to them. When made hot enough, it could even evaporate smaller amounts of water before it hits them. However, something odd happens when a normal one tries to use Zetsu. Both their normal and their heat aura recede into the Armagnis' body, which is a fatal flaw that has often resulted in the inability for the race to produce potential Hunters. However, one special Armagnis has emerged as an exception...~Sharpened Senses: Since the Armagnis species is modeled vaguely like a fox, they have heightened senses of smell, sight and hearing.~Whip-arm: The Armagni each have a long, rubbery, whip-like limb emerging from their back that is dexterous enough to manipulate various delicate objects as well as use many combat-based objects. They are built to have increased muscle strength in his legs and a stronger skeletal system overall to support this extra weight as well as any suddenly gained...like if one tosses someone clear across the battlefield. This is what allows him to bring the fight right to those who wish to harm them with the foe's own weapons.~Horse-like: Because of the increased muscle strength in their limbs, the Armagni can run slightly faster than a modern-day race horse. They can also jump really-high as well. I also wouldn't stand behind one, if I were you...that back-kick hurts, especially with clawed paws...~Patterned Barking: The Armagni have learned how to communicate with others with something known as 'pattern barking', where they make their barks, whines and other canine sounds a fair bit more like human words. Those whom have mastered this are often the primary translators when an actual friendly visitor comes to them.~Strange Reaction to Alcohol: If one decides to give an Armagnis something with a decent amount of the drink, take care not to stand in front of...or behind...them for a while. Fire belches AND fire farts are a thing with the species, as one unfortunate researcher found out the hard way...[spoiler=Nen-related abilities]~Ten - Taikyi can use Ten to safely ignite the air around him, so he can use his Living Flame ability in a more-controlled way, and reduce risk of igniting extra things by accident.~Zetsu - Normally, when an Armagnis pulls their aura into themselves, they also pull in their protective heat aura. Taikyu has developed the ability to seperate his heat and regular auras, allowing him to perform Zetsu with his normal aura and an equal to Ten with his heat aura being held really close to him.~Ren - Taikyu can use Ren to superheat the air around himself way past water's boiling point before releasing it towards all around him in an equal-directional 'sphere'. Those hit with this 'heat wave' often suffer from 1st-3rd degree burns, depending on how close something was to him when he releases it. Something that's point-blank to him upon release risk having their skin literally melted off.~Hatsu (when achieved) - Despite his stoic appearance, Taikyu is actually a Transmuter, able to turn his aura into either flame, electricity or a super-heated gust of wind at will.~Altered use of Gyo: Taikyu isn't one that can see auras when he uses Gyo. Instead, he hears and smells them...and not all of them sound in-tune or smell pleasant.~Use of Shu: If Taikyu happens to be wielding a metallic weapon in his whip-arm, which is usually his metallic battlestaff, he can superheat it after using Shu on it and use it to cut off limbs and cauterize the wound at the same time, leaving the foe no chance to reattach the limb in any way.[spoiler=Other Abilities]~Basic Literacy: You'd think that creatures that don't look even vaguely-humanoid wouldn't be able to read at all, right? This one has actually achieved a basic level of literacy, allowing him the ability to at least somewhat understand what was written in the various things around him. LordCowCowCowCowCowCowCowCow
[spoiler=The Rebel Star]"You're...kidding right? No one can be that stupid."Name: Arash "Ash" ShiraziAge: 17Sex: MaleRace: Nekomimi[spoiler=Appearance]With a few differences. First of all that bell isn't there, though the collar is. On the inside is an inscription that reads. "Never forget, never forgive."Arash's legs are bare, but he wears long and somewhat baggy shorts, reaching just past his knees. Over his feet are a pair of sturdy boots. The top half is more or less the same, except that it's a single piece and not attached to the bottom. The wrappings are there as well, and the black covering on his arms are also replaced with the same wrapping. Wears a brown cape-like cloak that reaches to his waist, and has a hood.5'8" (172 cm) and 134 pounds (60 kg)[spoiler=Biography]Arash was the son of the mayor of the small town he grew up in. His life was spent mostly playing around and learning how to play piano with his mother. The town was mostly Nekomimi, but all kinds were welcome there, much to Arash's grandfather's chagrin. He was a bitter old man who firmly believed that their race should be kept away from the more barbaric species. This had been a point of contention between grandfather and father, and they often had many arguments. Arash often asked his father why he put up with the old man. His father always skirted the subject. Arash would learn later that it was because his grandfather was once a deadly assassin and his father feared the man. But that was later. Before this, a horrible event befell the young boy. When he was merely six and a half years old, the town was attacked. Arash didn't know if it was one or more assailants, as his father had immediately hidden him away once the attack started. By the time it was over, Arash was the only one left alive...Arash and his grandfather. His grandfather told him how the attackers had been brutal, killing the men, women, and children all without mercy. He believed it to be the work of the government, as Arash's grandfather was quite the conspiracy theorist. Whatever the case, Arash's grandfather began raising the boy in a much different way than his parents. He trained him relentlessly to fight, and kill, molding him into, as his grandfather put it "The perfect avenger". Once Arash grew older, and more willful, he began to hate his grandfather passionately, and decided to use the skills he developed to escape. He still had a hatred of the government that his grandfather installed in him, and a desire to eventually find who killed his parents, but he wanted freedom from his oppressive upbringing. And that's when he learned of the Hunter Exam. Realizing this was the perfect way to break free of his grandfather and still attempt to discover the truth, he set out to pass it. [spoiler=Personality]Snarky as funk. Arash isn’t concerned with making friends that can’t deal with his personality, and so he doesn’t hold back. He has high expectations for others and most can’t meet them. He doesn’t want to bother with people who can’t help, or at least entertain, him. Though he does have a fondness for anyone who can make him laugh. Unfortunately for other people, Arash seems to find humor in people making a fool of themselves and failing. That isn’t to say he’s cruel, he just is amused by watching struggles. He wouldn’t go out of his way to make things harder for someone, unless they pissed him off. And will give out his help if he feels like there’s a good enough reason to. Be it he wants to see what they’ll do next, or he wants them to owe him one.Holds onto grudges for long times, if you wrong him you’re on his sheet list and you will probably stay there unless you do something remarkable.Hates being forced to do something he doesn’t want, and will often straight up refuse to follow rules and laws he disagrees with. Which is basically all rules. He sees authority as something to be destroyed, and has no respect for those who expect it without giving him reason. However Arash is passionate about fairness in some cases. While playing fair isn’t exactly a thing he believes in, and he won’t stop from taking advantage of weakness of body and powers to win, he believes that people should all be given a chance to succeed, regardless of race, age, or anything of that sort. He detests when people abuse their power to harm the kind of people Arash sees as “innocent”. Which tend to be civilians, but can also extend to anyone who seem to honestly want to help others and who represent more positive or pure emotions. Such as happy and bubbly people and naivety. Of course if he finds out you faked any of this, right to the sheet list with you, he’ll grind you into the dirt. His upbringing, and the event that preceded it, embittered him to some extent. However he fights against this feeling as it would only lead to him making mistakes. He can still occasionally slip into a sort of sullen silence that is difficult to break.[spoiler=Abilities]Night Vision: A natural ability of his species, Arash can see in the dark, though he also is somewhat sensitive to bright lights.Agility: Once more, naturally speedy. With good reflexes and acrobatic skills. This only increased with his training.Enhanced physical conditioning: Arash was trained rigorously, and thus is stronger than any average person, though not the strongest by far. His endurance is also above-average, and he can go on without food or water for nearly twice the length of the average person.Tracking: Simply put, the ability to track down targets, by usual means, or by scent in some cases.Stealth: Arash has trained in the art of moving silently, and can travel nearly undetected to normal senses.Kick-centric fighting: Arash's legs are especially strong, and the fighting style he learned makes use of kicks more often than anything else.Sniper training: Arash learned to use several weapons, but none had come as naturally to him as the sniper rifle. He's a crack shot and knows exactly how to adjust his small frame to reduce recoil.Piano: Arash had continued his learning of the piano, in secret, and has become quite good at playing it.[spoiler=Nen]While Arash's grandfather wasn't an expert on Nen, he managed to bring out some measure of Arash's Nen potential. Decent across the board, but with special talent in Transmutation skill.Barrier: A relatively simply, but effective, ability. Using Nen to create barriers out of thin air. The stronger these barriers, the more solid they appear. They range from practically transparent, capable of being broken in a single strong hit, and entirely solid which takes a massive amount of force to shatter. The stronger the barrier the more energy Arash must use to create it, and the more he's affected by them being broken.Eventually learning to be able to see, and even shoot, through even his strongest barriers. [spoiler=Misc][spoiler=Theme]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A4yutN6FB2M [spoiler=Battle Theme] -Smuggled a stuffed animal from his house before his grandfather burned it to the ground "This part of your life is over now". It resembles the creature in the appearance image.-Somewhat shy about his piano playing, and when he plays it you can see hints of his innocent youth.-Dislikes being wet for extended periods. Aman Indra
[spoiler=War Spirit]Name: Lucifer GeorgeAge : 26 YearsSex: MaleRace: Human [spoiler=Appearance] Weight: 72 Kg Height: 5'11"Lucifer is a typical "mood dresser", his clothes and the way he carries himself changes according to his tastes and moods. He does not care about the various perceptions that people have about appearance and normally keeps a coat or gown of army color on just to keep his background and experience with him and keeps his hair long and rough which results in cool locks and sometimes edgy and weird looks. [spoiler=Biography]Lucifer belonged to a middle class family in the outskirts of Gyro City, a place well versed with controversy and myth and his childhood mainly compromised of visiting the ancient ruins of Jiza with his father and he did not indulge in any friendly activity or peer joys since he was full of hatred and anger at others of his age and adults due to getting physically abused by his uncle at a young age due to his father going to the desert for surveys and investigations.Lucifer's parents were well known researchers and historians and loved their child dearly, but were away from home leaving Lucifer in charge of his uncle who beat and abused him to his will. After growing in a rough childhood, the adolescence of Lucifer was when he retaliated with full force, he developed his sense of Nen and opened up his nodes without even knowing it, he did not give a f*** and indulged in rigorous and focused training and used his powers recklessly with resulted in a freak accident one day.Lucifer went a bit far with his rage and killed his abusive uncle and became infamous and feared in no time, he was deemed a criminal by the masses at a young age and forced to flee. After he wandered and survived on fumes for several years, the incident calmed down completely. Lucifer vowed to use his powers in a righteous way and to protect, rather than destroy. Lucifer trained under many renowned names and eventually got hold of a place in the army due to his strength.Lucifer was quite renowned in the army was being strong, ideal and when he killed, he killed with brutality. Lucifer slowly started to become violent and infamous and served justice on the trigger of his guns, fearing that he would soon again become what he was running from, Lucifer quit the army or he was rather kicked out until further notice.Lucifer went and took a regular day job and lived an ordinary life while still secretly training his Nen and special powers. He soon began teaching the art of discovering Nen to young children. One day, when he decided to take a morning class, he heard a group of his students talking about hunters and the Hunter exam.Lucifer's parents told him stories and escapades of hunter's when he was young and being to get into the action again and use his talents for a cause that matters seemed too good for him and he also wanted to meet his parents somehow. He knew it would not be that easy, but he decided to go with his heart anyway. [spoiler=Personality]Angry, evil, guilt ridden and still slightly optimistic at the same time.Lucifer is quite the unpredictable one. He would seem a good person and laugh with you at one moment only to fatally wound you in the other. His moods change quickly and he just can't decide what he has to do since his demons catch up quite quickly with him.He knows that he is bad, guilty and probably as cold as they come but feels quite happy at the same time since he now changed his ways and stays out of trouble. Lucifer loves destruction and mayhem even though he might outright deny it. And this manifestation results in the freak affection with guns and explosives resulting in his hatsu and nen amplifying in the same direction.Like every other human being being out there, his tormented thoughts get the best out of him which is why he keeps training or doing something that keeps him busy so that he does not indulge in a "discussion" with himself.Lucifer loves fighting and involving with everything related to Nen and holds deep regards for this art and in order to prevent several others to take the same road he did, he even gets social once in a awhile.Lucifer has committed acts which would surely get his in bad trouble if discovered but still he has a ray of hope that he can repent for his ways and his fight and thrill seeking persona never dies. He also someday hopes to meet his parents he was forced to run away from and is the victim of nostalgia severely getting in his ways more than a few times. [spoiler=Abilities]Combat Expert: Being in the army and being a good sport in the field, Lucifer has quite some experience in hand to hand combat and is capable of putting more than quality hard work most of the time.Expert Marksman: Stupid love for guns, rigorous training and army experience. These all together make him deadly from close range and precise from long range.Explosive Knowledge: Lucifer survived as an assistant gun maker and explosive maker in a factory to compensate and learned good and practical knowledge about the same.Survival Expert: Being deployed in tough areas for missions and doing dangerous army work has given him a lot of beneficial survival tactics. He also trained, survived and made his way up the ranks in the real world making his shrewd. [spoiler=Nen]To be updated
Yui
[spoiler=The Greed Star]"Can't beat purrfection~"Name: Emui ValentineAge: 17Sex: Female Motivation: Emui wants riches, plain and simple.[spoiler=Appearance]At 5'2 and weighing 104 pounds, Emui is kinda small. She maintains a thin and flexible build suited for a sneaky thief, and has little muscle to speak of. She keeps her black hair cut short and tied back, to avoid it getting caught on something. Emui's typical fashion includes small boots and cute dresses, but if she feels a big heist coming, she will often swap these out for more loose-fitting boots and outfits with lots of pockets. Whatever she can hide a lot of stuff in.[spoiler=Personality]Emui crossing someone's path is just as unlucky as any black cat. Or maybe even more unlucky, since at least cats won't try lying to your face, running off with your things, or cheating you out of all the money you've got. This selfish Nekomimi will stop at nothing to fuel her greed, taking money and valuables from anyone unlucky enough to fall into one of her schemes. If cunning and trickery don't work, Emui isn't afraid to get violent either. This criminal mastermind hides her greed under a cute and friendly facade, pretending to be a bit of an airhead while laying out plans to rob whoever she's talking to blind. While she can certainly pretend to make friends easily, the harsh reality is that Emui is only out for herself, and it would take something really amazing to make her honestly tell someone she's their friend. Or to make her honestly tell someone anything, for that matter. With all that said, "friends" are not something Emui has much experience with. The fact that she'd happily backstab any possible friends for some cash, never tells them the truth, and grew up in a city where everyone was already out for only themselves could have something to do with this. One might be surprised to see the reactions that can be elicited out of Emui by just being upfront and generous with her, as it's not something she's prepared her little fake personality for.[spoiler=Biography]Once upon a time, there was a starving alley kitten. She didn't know where she'd come from, or where she should go, so she had no option but to ask others for help to survive on a day-to-day basis. That alley kitten was a good girl at heart, until someday she was taught a much simpler way to survive. Something that had never crossed her mind.Just find something you need, wait until nobody's looking...then take it.Thus began the rise of Emui Valentine, thief extraordinaire. Slipping in, grabbing "her" things, then quickly slipping back out became the new daily life routine for her, and she began to thrive. It started with just the bare basics for living a decent life; food, clothes, and empty rooms to sleep in at night. Soon, she started getting greedy. She began taking money, wallets, and more. Anything Emui could hide somewhere was fair game. That's gotten dull too. Emui's stolen her way up to a very lofty lifestyle, but her greedy little heart just isn't satisfied. And that is why the Hunter Exams caught her interest. With that kind of power, she could not only perform much larger heists, but even start hunting down old treasures or something and selling them for huge piles of cash.Aiming to strike a fortune then live the easy life until she dies, Emui has set forth to tackle these exams. And rest assured she'll lie, cheat, and steal her way to victory at any cost.[spoiler=Abilities]Night Vision: Of course, cats can see in the dark far better than humans. It's only logical that this trait also applies to Nekomimi. Flashlights are for chumps!Agility: Ever seen a cat jump, run, and swerve all around, wondering how it can be so agile? Emui is capable of similar feats, and is a very fast runner to boot.Master of Deceit: This is one girl who sure knows how to persuade with cunning and guile. Lying, stealing, cheating, disguise, and more are skills this catburglar has under her belt.Nen: Emui has a single Hatsu ability that lies dormant within her. She is a Specialist. The Back Road: This Specialist ability allows Emui to create a spatial anomaly that connects two unconnected points, allowing people to enter through one side of the anomaly and exit through the other. Or in layman's terms, she can create portals. These portals can only exist in one pair at a time, and automatically close if Emui moves 100 yards from either end of the pair. A portal can also only be set in a location she can make eye contact with, and must be set on a solid surface.

Gonna re-use and tweak character from last time and then use a fish dood who will be a tweaked version of the dood who was an expy of a dood for some other rp. Hooray for recycling.EDIT: And think we're done here for now. [spoiler=Lost in Grief]The Ambiguous Star"You all dance so wonderfully around me. I'll almost be sad to see the play end."Name: XiuMin RongAge: 19Gender: FemaleRace: Human[spoiler=Appearance:]Height: 5'7" / 170 cmWeight: 120 lbs / 54.4 kgXiu tends to wear simplistic clothing as shown in varying colors, though generally white or green. [spoiler=Personality:]Xiu in general is quite aloof. She often has a slight smile to her face but she appears to be detached to an extent from what's going on around her. She interacts with people fine but it's hard to tell if she's really in the conversation or not. Often she'll stare off into the distance seemingly at nothing pondering various things and yet still follow what's been going on around her and occasionally chime in. She's very polite and often cordial when talking with others regardless of how long she's known them. When something she finds funny occurs she'll often giggle softly to herself. Xiu's mind is brilliant and sharp and she loves learning and reading. She'll often have a book on her to read whenever she feels like it, almost without regard to what's happening around her. She seems to have answers readily available to most questions but won't always give out the answers right away even if asked directly. She rarely if ever speaks negatively of others and seems to keep most of her personal opinions to herself unless directly asked. Xiu can easily derail conversations with various other thoughts and questions and seems to lack any form or order to how she goes about it. When it comes to getting what she wants, Xiu is rather patient and calculating. Things don't have to happen immediately so long as they happen and she's often planning to ensure they do. It's hard to grasp what it is she really wants or what she's really feeling. And while she doesn't exactly use people she will gladly accompany and cooperate with them if it helps her while making various suggestions that hint at what she may actually want. She's mostly a mystery. Interacting with her doesn't make it much easier to figure her out. Things she does and says may seem careless and rude at times while incredibly caring and thoughtful at others. Her motives are deep and hidden away but she acts to accomplish her desires. Occasionally one may catch a glimpse past the outward act and into her real thoughts and feelings only to sense something ominous about it. She is capable of forming real bonds with others but is particularly careful of who she associates with. When in battle or similar serious situations the light aloof happiness subsides a bit in favor of a serious tactical mindset. Xiu doesn't particularly enjoy fighting and likes to end fights quickly if she can. And while generally hard to anger, if someone does anger her she can become incredibly cruel. [spoiler=Motivation:]When asked why she desires to be a hunter, Xiu tends to alternate between a few different stories. One is that she desires the access to various libraries and universities she could in no other way afford to attend or visit to learn. She might also say that she desires to help defend the people and be a force for good. Another common answer is that she would like the recognition the title brings. Of course her true motive is bits and pieces of these answers and something more. She does indeed desire to learn more but more because there is something or someone she desires to hunt. On rare occasion she may mention that much but never does she describe what this target is to any who ask her. This personal quest is what drives her. Her actions are mysterious to those on the outside but Xiu is always striving to aim towards this goal. [spoiler=Biography:]Xiu grew up on the continent of Aiza. She was raised mostly by her father as her mother had passed away during the birth of her younger brother. Xiu's father was a scholar and researcher and worked long and hard to provide for his children. He strived especially to instill a desire to learn in them. He felt that knowledge was power and would enable them to have successful and happy lives whatever they chose to do. As her father generally did his research through a university, Xiu often lived close to or in the larger cities of Aiza and always marvelled at the things people could create. As a child Xiu was a much easier person to understand and interact with and she made various friends in the different cities they lived in. Her younger brother RuWen often expressed a desire to be a Hunter one day which Xiu never saw much appeal to it. But Ru trained hard and managed to begin using Nen. Ru amazed Xiu with the various things he could do and he told her about how he had awakened his Nen through meditation and described how it was done. When Ru was twelve, and Xiu was thirteen, Ru found an older hunter who was willing to help train him in preparation for the exam. He left the family for what was to be a three month session of personal training. But that three months soon was drawn out to six and eventually nine and still Ru had not returned. Eventually the older hunter returned alone to Xiu and her father. He wasn't in great shape himself and he was almost incoherent initially as he attempted to explain what had happened to Ru. He spoke of their training in a mountain and a strange cloud of darkness that had appeared along the path. Ru had disappeared into it and while attempting to follow the man experienced painful and disturbing hallucinations. Upon coming to himself he searched as long as he could be never found Ru. The people in the nearby towns had only ever heard of it in folktales referring to it as the Demon's Heart. Grief was something Xiu hadn't experienced before. She had been so young when her mother died. She hardly knew how to react. In the midst of this her current personality began to develop. She detached herself from what was happening around her and began thinking. Life began to feel less real and somehow amusing most of the time. She clung to the fact that Ru could still be alive. It was the only thing that was real. What was happening around her didn't matter, just as long as she saw him again. Eventually she determined that she just had to learn more about the Demon's Heart to find him. What started as a search for understanding and closure quickly became an obsession and object of fixation. Her whole world became researching the thing that had stolen her brother from her. She searched every book and record that she could and found only bit and traces of information each calling it by a different name. She quickly found that she wouldn't be able to access the records that might contain more. She had often heard her father mention his own research would probably be a lot easier if he had access to all of the records that Hunters did. Upon concluding she didn't have enough information available to find Ru she decided she would have to become a Hunter. She began her training around the time she was fourteen at first by attempting to meditate the way Ru had once described to awaken her Nen. Her mind as it was the process was long and difficult but ultimately not impossible. After trying long enough she succeeded then she sought out trainers to help her prepare for the Hunter Exam. All the while she studied and read whatever she could believing that any piece of knowledge could be helpful at some point. She never really did manage to come to terms with the grief and has become quite odd and aloof for it. Seeing her brother again to her is something that will assuredly happen. There's no question of if but simply when. [spoiler=Abilities:]Primary Type: Transmuter Skill with NenTen: Very talented, keeps all nen her body releases close by under normal circumstances with minimal waste. Zetsu: Basic proficiency. Xiu will often activate Zetsu before entering a town just so her nen doesn't draw any unwanted attention but also in an attempt to scan the area for signs of her brother's nen. Ren: Skilled user, doesn't tire very easily from simply using the technique alone. Hatsu: Amorphous SteelXiu's hatsu technique manifests from transmuting her nen into a malleable almost fluid like metal that can harden quickly into various shapes and even change shape. The amount that can be created of course directly correlates with how much nen Xiu is putting out and generally she would struggle to make anything about half as big as she is. As it is simply her nen taking on metal like properties it does not last once she stops using the technique. Uses can range to making simple items for one time use to combat. Generally in battle she can coat her staff in the metal and create various blades and weapons off of it. There is one defensive use of the technique. Xiu can create a mirror of sorts out of the metal like nen generally no larger than a four foot square. Nen based attacks that collide with this mirror are partially absorbed and partially let through while anything not nen (like say people) is let through entirely. The amount absorbed is never greater than fifty percent and that is only if expending great amounts of nen to form it. Xiu has attempted storing the absorbed nen and firing it back off with very mixed results and avoids attempting it in battle. Future Hatsu: Demon's Descent. When Xiu discovers the secrets of the Demon's Heart that took her brother Ru she'll develop the ability to summon the darkness that causes hallucination and pain to any engulfed. The use is highly restricted to wide open spaces under the full moon's light. This ability will not be used to fight but to finally search for Ru. Xiu will not have good control of it at any point. Encyclopedia of KnowledgeXiu is very well read and constantly reading more. She knows a lot of stuff for it. Like a lot. How useful this is to other people depends on if they're asking her questions of course as she doesn't usually just impart knowledge to others for no reason. Incredible MemoryWhile not photographic exactly, Xiu's memory is very sharp and sometimes borders on it. She's very good at remembering names and faces after relatively few encounters and in general just remembers things very well. At times she even takes note of and recalls seemingly trivial or mundane things. Cooking SkillsBeing the oldest child with a single father working a lot, Xiu took it upon herself to be the chef in the family. She's rather good at on the fly cooking and improvised meals. She doesn't much stick to recipes but manages to make something good out of what's at hand. Though sometimes her tastes can be a little odd compared to others. Staff FightingXiu carries a long five foot staff with her that often appears to be little more than a simple walking stick. It is her weapon of choice however and is made of a fairly tough wood. She's trained for quite some time with it and is fairly competent with it. [spoiler=Miscellaneous:]Various pet peeves include: people treating books carelessly, people speaking too loudly for too long, and general disregard for education and learning. Some quirks include: twirling the ends of her hair with her right index finger while thinking or bored, long extended "hmm"s while thinking, random moments of excitement while reading, tapping her feet in various made up rhythms while standing around. MusicReflection/SadnessPeaceful/Everyday [spoiler=A Fish Out of Water]The Tidal Star"I'm gonna see everything in the world one day. Wanna come along?"Name: Aduain SiorcAge: 16Sex: MaleRace: Aquarian[spoiler=Appearance:]Height: 4 ft 5 in/~135 cmAdditional Info: Not shown well here but there are several slits on each side of his torso that are his gills and only way of breathing whether in water or on land. He also has fins coming off the outside of his forearms and his hands are webbed like his feet. Sometimes carries a small bag with a single strap that goes around his chest to carry things. [spoiler=Personality:]Aduain is first and foremost a bundle of energy and excitement. He's naturally curious and driven to explore and learn. This coupled with a degree of shyness around people he's never met makes for awkward first encounters at times. He tends to stare for a while and see what he can figure out before actually approaching the person, sometimes poorly hiding himself to do so. He's a very friendly and straightforward person to the point of lacking tact at times which can add to the awkwardness of first impressions. He's often happy and smiling and wants others around him to be too. This desire to see others happy has lent itself to Aduain making himself something of a comedian. He tends to speak in fish puns which at first were to be funny but have simply become his normal habit of speaking by this point. He's got a mischievous streak to him and tends to play tricks on people that interest him. While meant in good fun they're not often taken well and yet have led to some lasting friendships despite the rocky start to things. Despite the friendly exterior, Aduain can be surprisingly easy to annoy at times. He dislikes nicknames for himself whether they were intended to be friendly or not. He easily gets embarrassed when people call out how he can be a little clumsy on land. He also dislikes the common human mindset that being taller is better but this mostly because he's shorter than the average human. He detests wearing much clothing but needs to when it gets cold and can be slightly irritable about it. Aduain also gets more irritable the longer it's been since he had a good swim. Aduain is not super book smart but is great at picking things up on the fly and getting out of tricky situations. He loves learning little facts here and there but isn't the best at remembering everything he hears. Freedom is the most important thing in the world to Aduain. He longs to explore all the oceans of the world as they represent true freedom to him. As such he believes everyone should be free to pursue their own desires. People who would restrict anyone's freedom are despicable to him and he'll let them know it. He tends to encourage people to consider what their dreams are and go make them happen. He'll try to help people who've given up their dreams because he feels as long as he can tell others to not give up he won't ever give up himself. The positive playful little fish while genuine is mostly all people will get from Aduain until they get close to him. He doesn't exactly hide his feelings about things but he won't really discuss them at detail with someone he doesn't feel he's built up trust with. When he's feeling down he does his best to keep it hidden from everyone because he doesn't want anyone to be sad with him. While he doesn't necessarily seek it, Aduain does enjoy battle and is easily captivated by things he feels are cool or exciting. [spoiler=Biography:]The Aquarians were a once mighty race of human-like fish creatures that dominated the ocean floors of the world. They had many cities established throughout the ocean and were unrivaled warriors. Legend tells of a strange force that began attacking various settlements and soon the various cities turned on each other blaming them for the attacks. Infighting among the Aquarians drastically reduced their numbers and for the most part the only ones remaining today are the descendants of those few who fled the fighting. It's rare to see them anywhere but at the northern most reaches of the world so many have come to assume they have one last populated city hidden away in underwater caves to the north. They've since become a rare enough sight that many don't know them to be real. But there were still some families of them scattered about the rest of the world. Aduain's family belonged to a travelling circus, Johanson's House of Mysteries it was called. The group tried to mix traditional performances with bizarre and strange creatures. The original founder had heard tales of the Aquarians and sought them out to add to his show. The original Johanson spent most of his life hunting them down and eventually Aduain's great grandfather and few others had been captured by the group. They took advantage of their unfamiliarity with humans and made it appear the group was the only safe place they could have. As a result they managed to trick the Aquarians into legally binding their families to the group after them. They were treated poorly and regarded more as animals by many of the humans running the performance group despite their intelligence. They performed in various shows with other creatures of the sea and were used as a sort of freak show the group put on. From his earliest memories Aduain could recall his father passing on stories he had heard from his father of the former glory of the Aquarian race, their vast underwater cities, their mighty militaries, and their mastery of the ocean. Hearing his father's tales instilled a desire to go and explore the place of his ancestors and the vast oceans of the world but as things stood they were bound to the will of their boss and owner, the current day heir to the Johanson name and circus. Determined to see his family all get to see the sea one day, Aduain became more rebellious and resisted the orders of the group more and refused to do his part in the various shows. He started pulling pranks on various staff members and was punished rather excessively if ever they could catch him. While Aduain often felt he easily could have escaped on his own he knew his family would likely suffer for it and he wanted to go explore the world with them. Aduain's father knew of his desire for freedom and made many attempts to speak with the boss about it. He was at first treated harshly and hurt by Johansons body guards for trying to speak to him. But eventually the persistence in the man got through to Johanson and a meeting was arranged and deal agreed upon. Their next show was to take place rather closeby the ocean and there was rumor an Aquarian city had once been populated on the ocean floor just outside the reef that clung to the shores. The deal made was if Aduain's father could find the ruins and bring back something valuable enough, he could purchase the freedom of his family. Aduain had been unaware of what his father had been doing until he and his mother were confined to a rather tight room for holding while his father was out to ensure his return. Sitting around in a room never sat well with him and he quickly became restless. By sunset that day they were brought to the boss's office where Aduain's father met them and embraced them both. Kneeling down his father explained to Aduain the deal that had been made and told him the treasure he'd brought back could only afford one of their freedoms. Embracing his son once more he told Aduain he wanted him to be the one to go free. The decision was heart wrenching but both of his parents encouraged him to go and his father told him of the location of the ancient city he'd visited for the deal he'd stuck with the boss. Reluctantly the thirteen year old Aduain parted with his parents and left the circus he had spent his life in. He had the ocean and his natural skill at catching fish to sustain him but Aduain had no idea what to do with his new found freedom. It felt hollow without his family that he could now explore the greatest bodies of water he'd ever seen. Soon the circus moved on from the city he'd been freed from to where he didn't know. He had stayed in that city in hopes of maybe seeing his parents but knew it was unlikely. A bit of depression set in as Aduain spent his days fishing for food and moping on the beach. Eventually he decided to visit the ancient Aquarian city his father had told him of. As he reached the sunken ruins of a once mighty city he marveled at what his ancestors had done before him. After enough exploring he happened upon the trident he uses to this day in battle, the blades covered in inscriptions he only partially recognized from what his father had taught him of their people's culture. Upon surfacing at the nearby port Aduain heard a scream from a woman and saw some men assaulting a woman on the boardwalk, likely for her money. Without thinking Aduain jumped into action and fought off the assailants. The woman thanked him despite being slightly alarmed at his appearance. She invited Aduain to her home to thank him properly. Heather was the woman's name, a rather wealthy middle-aged widow who had a rather large oceanside house where her and her late husband had lived together. After speaking for a while Heather found out Aduain's tale and offered him a room in her home while he figured out what to do. Over the next year he would receive a proper introduction to human culture. Heather attempted to have him formerly educated too but he always struggled with classes and homework and such. She was able to help him track down the circus his parents were still part of but wasn't sure what she could do. Many didn't know what Aquarians were or that Aduain's family or others like him were sentient. Given the nature of their meeting it was here Heather introduced the idea of becoming a Hunter to Aduain As a Hunter she explained he would be able to have his race officially acknowledged and perhaps obtain the assistance he would need to free his parents. After looking into all the privileges that came with being a Hunter Aduain found other reasons it appealed to him and so he set off to train himself. For the next two years he would occasionally reappear in Heather's home, describing amazing adventures he'd been on as part of his training. On his sixteenth birthday Aduain found the town the circus would next perform in and snuck a visit to his parents. While brief it meant the world to them all to see each other again. He told them of his plan and told them to wait a little longer for him. From there Aduain set out determined to become a Hunter. [spoiler=Motivation]Aduain has several motives driving his decision to become a Hunter:-Establish official government recognition of his race and free his family.-Access to more information on the ruins of the cities of the ancient Aquarians so he can one day visit all of them.-Make some money and finally repay Heather and other humans who've helped him along his way. [spoiler=Abilities:]Adapted to Land:Aduain's people are very much meant to live in the ocean but have come to be able to live on land by subconsciously using nen. Their skin stays moist and their gills are able to breathe on land because their bodies use nen without their knowledge. Because of this it's usually not hard to teach an Aquarian to use nen but they don't naturally do anything past these adaptations. This makes the usage of the Ten technique come quite naturally to them. The Ren technique comes with similar ease but if it is used for prolonged periods or at high intensity on dry land runs the risk of compressing the air around the gills which are sensitive to nen. This can result in Oxygen Toxicity effects in the nervous system which can cause tunnel vision, nausea, ringing in the ears and even twitching. More extreme side-effects include seizures and losing consciousness but these rarely if ever occur simply from using the Ren technique alone. These sensitivities to nen in the Aquarian body also mean Aduain will be very bad at using the Zetsu technique when he learns to fight with nen in general but especially on land since it will interrupt his ability to breathe out of water as well as put him in danger of quickly dehydrating. Light on his fins:Aduain is naturally quick and acrobatic both on land and incredibly agile and maneuverable under water. While a little clumsy just walking around he does very well when he gets moving. Aduain isn't slow on his feet but tends to jump around to move faster due to the slight awkwardness on land. He's not very heavy either which helps getting around but makes it easier for him to get thrown around in fights. He often plants his trident in the ground and can spin all around it or balance on the end to get higher views of things. While not weak physically Aduain tends to rely on his speed, mobility and weapon in fights. Quick Thinker/Learner:Aduain picks up how things work very quickly due to his natural curiosity. He learns how simple mechanisms and puzzles work rather quickly and can remember them well. Why things work or physical principles don't stick nearly as well. He's a fast problem solver as a result and keeps practical information on hand in his memory. Equipment:-Trident: About five feet in length, four feet being the staff and the last foot being three curved blades which if extended further would appear to make a pyramid shape at the end of the weapon. While it is longer than Aduain is tall he handles it very well and takes it everywhere he goes.-Bag: Aduain has a modest sized shoulder bag to carry things around in since he lacks any form of pocket. He often wears the strap across his right shoulder and carries usually no more than ten to twenty pounds of stuff in it not counting his trident which he has straps across the back of the bag for when he doesn't want to carry the weapon himself. He rarely takes it into the water with him both for his own comfort and the bag itself isn't water proofed. [spoiler=Nen:]Primary Type: Transmuter Aduain does not currently know how to use nen to fight. His affinities for the Ten, Zetsu and Ren techniques when he learns them are outlines in the above section "Adapted to Land" Future Hatsu Techniques Aqua Jet: This technique causes Aduain's nen to behave like water. Passively this increases his physical performance because his gills behave like they're breathing underwater which is easier for him. The actual ability allows Aduain to focus his aura at any point within a five meter radius of him and a release a short geyser like burst of the water-nen. The column of water is about a meter in diameter and move objects depending on their size and the nen flowing around them. Often he'll use them for unpredictable bursts of speed or to disorient opponents. The bursts on their own are not a very effect attack. Phase Change: Later Aduain will learn to control the phase of the liquid nen he summons and to some extent the shape. This will allow him to turn his burst of water-nen into attacks as they freeze into pointed icicles moving at high speeds. He'll also be able to turn it into vapor to obscure vision in the area. [spoiler=Miscellaneous]Pet Peeves: dislikes nicknames in general but especially for him, hates peanutbutter or even thinking about eating it, doesn't like people wasting water or food, doesn't like clowns or anything particularly associated with circuses Quirks: sometimes struggles to differentiate different genders on anything but fish/fishlike creatures, likes to pretend he's a huge shark, plays around with his floppy ear like tentacles on his head when he's bored. Aduain enjoys tapping on things in various rythem, Was taught how to play the drum set for a show in the circus he grew up in that was ultimately cancelled before it was ever performed. Likes music but hasn't ever sought out a chance to use his skills. Musics
King K. Azo
[spoiler=Mountain Star]"The answer lies in the heart of battle,"Name: Ryuuken Age: 19Sex: Male[spoiler=Appearance]Standing at 6'5" and weighing 250 pounds, Ryuuken is a tall pile of muscle. Due to intense training and frequent chores outside, he sports dark skin with black hair and green eyes. He is also covered in many scars. He is never seen wearing anything but his dojo's traditional gi, his sporti a black color. [spoiler=Personality]Ryuuken is usually a humble and serious individual. He wanders with the goal of complete mastery of his martial art, and takes both travels and training very seriously. For him, the training and mastery that come from the fight are all that he requires for satisfaction, declining the more material trappings of his various accomplishments as a fighter and simply moving to his next challenge once he is victorious. Though he does not seek the role of a hero, he possesses a similarly strong sense of justice as well. Due both to this "wandering warrior" persona and being raised far away from modern-day culture, Ryuuken often appears to be an odd character that is a bit too happy. Deep down, he is a kind and good-hearted person who shows a sense of humor (albeit a bad one). He also respects others with skills equal to his own. Ryuuken will also intake large amounts of food if the opportunity presented itself and can sleep just about anywhere. He is hard to anger, but if you do anger him, he will do his best to take you down, or make you hurt like hell before he loses. [spoiler=Biography]As a very young child, Ryu was orphaned and left in the northern mountain range with no memories about his parents, and whether they were still alive. He was found and adopted by a man named Goutetsu who raised Ryu in his secluded dojo and trained Ryu in the ways of his martial arts. Goutetsu soon also took in Gouki, the son of a friend of his. Gouki was both a friend and a sparring partner to Ryuuken, both growing up and training together. Ryuuken looked up to Goutetsu as a father figure, and regards Gouki as his best friend and surrogate brother, a relationship which remains to this day. When Ryu was 15 years old, Goutetsu believed that Ryuuken was ready to travel the world in order to test and hone his martial skills against the best fighters from around the world. With this, Ryuuken left Goutetsu's dojo, and trained even more, determined to become even better, and helped people he saw needed it. One day, he heard of the Hunters, and how they travelled the world doing dangerous jobs. Believing becoming one would allow him to fight even better opponents, he decided to enter the Exams and join the ranks of the Hunters. [spoiler=Abilities]Martial Art Expertise: You don't train in the mountains for all your life and not become a good fighter. Ryuuken is very proficient in unarmed combat, and is good at using his size and strength to overpower opponents. He also is good at grappling, seeing how he is capable of holding most people in one giant hand. No Sell: This allows him to take almost any hit without reacting and counterattack accordingly.Nen: Ryuuken has two Hatsu abilities yet to be discovered within him. He is an Enhancer and an Emitter. Aix
[spoiler=The Man Writhing in Nature] "Much like my axe, the truth is harsh. Cold. But like me, it is for your benefit. Don't take it personally." Name: Warden James Age: 31 Sex: Male [spoiler=Appearance] Warden stands--from his head to the soles of his feet--at six feet and three and one quarter inches in height. He's quite a large guy, but he is by no means fat. For a long time, Warden has been a lumberjack. Because of the occupation he chose, he has accumulated a fair tone of muscle, with the physique of a mid weight bodybuilder. His chest, legs, arms, and torso are well toned, and they aren't just for show. [spoiler=Personality] Warden is very forward. He doesn't like to butter things up or make things easy. If he's got something that needs to be said, he will be honest with you. Some say he's often a bit brutal about it. But, "sometimes, the truth hurts". It is worth noting that Warden has come to soften his blows when it comes to the truth, in that he has decided to use less swears and fewer insults, but the sting still remains when you're dealing with people. This does not mean Warden cannot be kind. He has a weak spot for children, and has come to admitting that he has underestimated the young time and time again. He's a lady's man, and when dealing with a woman he's interested in, is about the only time you'll find his words sweet or flattering. Warden is also a bit of an intellectual. He carries his words with pride, putting meaning behind every movement of his tongue. He is well spoken, and actually enjoys speaking to crowds. Naturally, he also enjoys the outdoors. In his free time, he loves to fish and hunt for sport. He has a steadily increasing interest in hunting big game, but doesn't have the resources to currently pursue his passion. [spoiler=Biography] First name, Warden. Last name, James. Son to Tristan and Trinity James. Effectively known as the 'lumberjack Trinity', the James family currently resides a lengthy boat ride north of Gyro City, where they live on and operate the James Woods Organization. There, they work with, ship, and create products from more than twenty types of trees and woods, annually. The foundation of the organization sits on 1.5 million acres of timberland trees. The foreman, Warden, is the primary overseer of J.W.O., and manages the company in his parents stead. While Tristan James does spend a lot of time on the property and in the business, Warden's concerns for his age and health tend to have him running home to his lovely wife. At the young age of 63 and 61 respectively, Tristan and Trinity are still in their prime, often sneaking off to explore and hike when Warden rushes them away. Warden was raised around lumber ever since he was a little boy. Since he was roughly four years old, he spent lots of time camping, hiking, and being in nature with his father, Tristan. They would sometimes spend days at a time at the peak of the Timberland forest, tuning their senses to nature's own. They would carefully identify plants of different types. They knew how to find their way home in the dark by using markings of trees, and different patterns of stars. They knew which animals were fair game, and which were foes to be respected and reckoned with. But above all, Tristan and Warden knew to respect nature, for its many ways, beauties, and horrors. "Nature has many moods. She can be a kind mistress, but no being on earth is more fragile, and ever changing than she is." Around the time Warden was fifteen years old, his father purchased a large piece of land in secret. It was a surprise for Trinity's forty-fifth birthday; it was initially intended to be turned into a landscape for a massive private garden, for all of their herbal wants and needs. However, upon revealing the surprise, Trinity already had an idea with what she wanted to do with it. "A lumber yard!" she said, with an excited gasp. "A lumber yard?" Tristan and Warden mimicked. "Mmhmm! And then, we can use nature for our needs, while maintaining our own. We'll make good money, and we'll replant every tree we cut down." Of course, Tristan and Warden were understandably skeptical, but Trinity's plan seems to have worked out in the end. Approximately one year later, James Woods Organization was booming, with Trinity and Tristan at the helm, and their sixteen year old Warden working hard along side them. Throughout the years, Warden remained faithful to his family company, as it continued to grow and expand into the 'empire' of wood working that it is today. Recently, however, Warden has been longing for something more. His passion for hunting continues to grow, as he yearns to explore the world. "I love it here. But I just--I want to spread my wings a bit." He expressed this to his father, only to find a big supporting hug from his parents as they then pat him on the back. "This company is big enough to run itself, son. If you want to free yourself for a while, we're behind you. And even if you decide not to return to the company--as long as you stop by and say hello--that's enough for us." With his parents behind him, Warden set off to Gyro City, his first in a long line of stops he had planned to visit on his journey. However, his journey was cut short, as his eyes caught the edges of a blue and white poster, plastered onto a light pole on a busy street. "Hunter Exam?" he read aloud, in curiosity. Reading carefully, this was Warden's opportunity to really procure funding to become a big time, big game hunter. And this was the perfect test to help him discover his capabilities as a tracker, a watcher, a hunter. Warden gripped the flyer tightly, as a smirk crossed his smug face. There was no reason for him not to take the Hunter Exam. In fact, he would be required to, if he truly wanted to hunt the biggest, baddest creatures mother nature had to offer. And so, Warden set out to take the Hunter Exam, with bravado and determination. [spoiler=Abilities] Enhanced Strength: While he is not a super human, Warden's rigorous work out on the lumber yard has trained him well. He is much stronger than the average human, able to push his foes if they don't take him seriously. Master Tracker: With years of dedicated work in nature, spending time among the wild, Warden has reached a level of tracking proficiency better than most. Able to track targets for upwards of six months at a time, he has heightened senses, which contribute to this skill. Animal Instinct: They say animals know when something is wrong, able to sense danger with a sixth sense. Warden's time hunting and being in the wild has given him this sixth sense. His mental alertness is very sharp, giving him an advantage in natural disasters and even in combat. He is able to sense danger roughly five minutes before it occurs. However, this does not imply he will be skillful / resourceful enough to avoid it. He's part Spider-man! Like, one quarter tho fam. Herbal Expertise: Warden is very familiar with plants, trees, weeds, mushrooms, types of fungi, molds, and spores. His time in nature has made this a second nature to understanding which plants are safe, edible, or can be used for medicines, or which plants can kill you. [spoiler=Nen] Warden has not yet had the proper training to open his Nen nodes. However, his affinity for nature and his hard, hands-on work have assured that he will be both a Conjurer and an Enhancer in the future, with one Specialist technique. Summon: Birthing Axe (future Conjuring Nen ability): Naturally, as a Conjurer, Warden's choice of weapon summoning to master was a lumber jack axe. However, in combat, it was required to be much stronger. And so he perfected the axe to be double bladed, and twice the size of anything he had ever wielded before. He is very proficient with it, as its size and weight do not hinder his strikes. Rather, they are fluid and precise, with deadly results. Timber! (future Enhancer Nen ability): Warden enhances the strength of his Birthing Axe, increasing its sharpness, weight, cutting power, and reach by 100% (double). Earthen Might (future Specialist Nen ability): In forest, rain forest, and field or plain settings, Warden receives increased healing regeneration, and 25% more movement speed. [spoiler=Misc.] Chosen Theme: That's not an error. I wanna know what really pushes his buttons yo
Yui
[spoiler=The Unliving Star]"Be ye adventurers? Would that I may join you!"Name: Ninsar RabiatChronological age: 1077Biological age: Deceased (age at time of death: 14)Time since (most recent) resurrection: 1 monthSex: FemaleMotivation: Seeks a method to become a living human again. Getting to take a big adventure in the process is a convenient bonus.[spoiler=Appearance]Ninsar was still growing in life, standing at 4'4" and weighing in at 70 pounds at the time of her death. The effects of the resurrecting medallion in her stomach doing its thing several times has caused her pigments to go wonky, turning her hair blue, her skin green, and her eyes a bright yellow. It would seem that the bandages adorning her body are purely decorative and were put there by Ninsar herself. As she remains wary of the modern world, she's yet to graduate from her old era clothes, which consist mostly of loose dresses that fasten just beneath the shoulders.[spoiler=Personality]Being from the world as it was an entire millennium ago, Ninsar's worldviews can and generally will vary greatly from more modern people. She hasn't had the time to adjust herself to modern laws or technology, and often looks at things as legal or not as how they would have been in the old empire. It's quite common for these to not align quite right with what it's like today. She's very wary of modern technology too, never sure what will happen if she touches something, but at the same time fascinated by what people have been able to accomplish in the last thousand years. These traits can often lead to misunderstandings between herself and others, which isn't made any easier by the fact that she speaks a dialect that died out only a century after she did. She's been working on catching up with at least modern speech. Both in life and in death, Ninsar has been a girl that craves adventure. She's always wanted to be a hero, and often dreams of being a bold warrior that repels any and all foes that would dare threaten her home or ideals. Of course, she's no warrior; the girl couldn't hurt a fly, let alone a living, breathing person. Being dead herself, she'd probably have trouble hurting a dead, not breathing person too. Violence simply doesn't suit her, as much as she wishes otherwise. She definitely has a fire in her heart and a strong will to protect what matters to her. It's just a matter of her pacifist ways and training her with a weapon. All that said, even though she was born a very long time ago, most of that very long time has been spent suspended in death. Ninsar is still young, and still has tendencies befitting it. Her mind can easily change like the wind, and it's not hard to make her believe what she's told. It's also no major task to convince her to do something with the right incentive, and she's always bound to find a way to make something fun, even if she just has to make it up herself. Especially if she just has to make it up herself. The imagination of a girl suddenly thrown a thousand years into the future is not to be underestimated.[spoiler=Biography]There once was a vast empire that spanned across the entirety of the Screaming Desert, including the area that is now the Desert State of Jipte. As their presence can attest, the area where Gyro City was built contained the Great Necropolises of Jiza, ancient burial tombs that house the bodies and treasures of the deceased. Ninsar, daughter of a noble family of the old empire, has spent the last thousand years in one of these crypts in a long-lasting state of death. The only thing more curious than the fact that a thousand-year-old corpse can move at all is why Ninsar is the only one from her crypt that has. The answers to these questions date back to the great empire of old.Ninsar was born into an old kingdom on the verge of collapse; a kingdom since lost to history. Unrest among the lower class and its loathing of the upper class, a failing economy, and a terrible war with other ancient kingdoms - including the great empire beneath the Screaming Desert - all dealt the crippling blows that would lead to the kingdom's ultimate collapse, but this very collapse is where we find our answers.Ninsar's birth parents were merchants, a most undesirable career path in the kingdom's current state. Due to the economy sitting on the verge of complete collapse, it took all the family could muster to simply scrape by in what would have been a booming business mere decades ago. Living on a village by the border only worsened things, with the constant threat of invasion looming over everyone's shoulders. One would think this story would go on to have Ninsar kidnapped and put into slave labor for the old empire, and one would be wrong. While Ninsar was indeed kidnapped by the empire's army in a raid, things actually moved uphill from there.Unlike her savage homeland, this desert empire was massive. Powerful. Rich in gold, food, land and other resources as well. It was imperial law that any prisoners of war under the minimum age of army enlistment be put up for adoption. Ninsar - seven at the time - fell just a few years under the belt, and was ultimately put into the house of a noble family. Gone were the days of hunger, fearing invasions, and fighting just to get by. At first, she was wary of her new family. Their empire had invaded her home kingdom, razed her village, and probably killed her birth family, after all. Eventually, however, Ninsar's young, impressionable mind came around. Living here wasn't so bad after all. Her new family loved her as their own, and there eventually came a point where Ninsar decided this new life was in fact better than what she'd had before. Now we get around to why Ninsar is walking again a thousand years after dying.Old habits die hard, and in Ninsar's case, she'd grown up in a failing kingdom as a merchant's daughter. One habit she'd picked up was occasionally taking things that weren't hers. Boy did her ways change quickly when she accidentally cheated the emperor's advisor out of a supposedly-enchanted medallion, swallowing it when she was suspected of stealing the medallion out of fear and shame. To this day, she hasn't forgotten the words the advisor said to her as her family left the capitol."That medallion is no mere trinket, and I must find it quickly. Whoever holds the medallion can never truly die. They'll still die, of course; it simply won't be permanent. This is not as wonderful as your young mind may expect, Young Miss Rabiat."For the rest of her life, Ninsar was filled with guilt and regret. A week later, a massive plague swept through her family's area, killing hundreds of thousands, including Ninsar's family. Ninsar herself was the final death of that plague. She was buried in a necropolis along with her family.A year later, she rose from the grave, just as a pair of guards were making their patrol. Fearing black magic was at work, the guards killed Ninsar and buried her deeper within the necropolis. This process was repeated every few months until eventually she'd been so well hidden away that even the bugs couldn't find her. And what luck, for now that she'd been rendered virtually impossible to access, Ninsar stayed dead for a very, very long time.About a month ago, a group of graverobbers planning to steal from her family's tomb accidentally stumbled into Ninsar's chamber, stirring the girl from her "eternal" slumber for the first time in a thousand years. Scared the living hell out of them when a bona fide corpse popped out of her grave, and in her attempts to get them to stop and talk to her, she'd chased them almost all the way outside before being stopped by Gyro City officials. With no freaking clue what was going on, Ninsar obliged their orders for her to follow them. A lot of clarifying was necessary both from the thousand-year-old corpse and the officers of what seemed an entirely new world (especially since her ancient dialect didn't make understanding her any easier), but eventually the two parties figured out what was what, and Ninsar was put under the legal care of one of the officers until a more permanent arrangement could be figured out.Now her eyes are set on this new world she's been thrown into. What were called Magi in her time are now Hunters, great people with great power who go on adventures to pursue all manner of amazing things. It sounded to her like a wonderful adventure. Just the kind of thing Ninsar wanted. And with the vast possibilities Nen can hold, Ninsar believes it's possible she can find a way to lift the curse of undeath without killing herself, and become a living human once again. Being an adventurer would be one thing, but being alive again is a much greater matter. With the prospects of adventure and life waiting along her road, Ninsar received some very basic self-defense training from her guardian and was sent on her way. Not like dying will stop her from getting back home anyway.[spoiler=Abilities]Unliving: Ninsar is...well, dead. This has some benefits. Biological needs such as hunger, sleep, or even air mean nothing to her, and poisons or diseases have no effect. You can't poison something that isn't alive, after all. The cessation of her life functions also means Ninsar does not age. However, this also means her body does not heal wounds on its own, and any dismemberment must be cured by re-attaching the body part in question. Smaller wounds like cuts or the like can be either stitched shut or simply ignored.Medallion of Resurrection: That gold medallion Ninsar swallowed when she was still alive has some pretty neat properties. If the holder is killed, they will eventually and inevitably rise from the dead should the medallion react to the presence of other life forms. It also grants the holder rapid regeneration from any wound, which is damn convenient since Ninsar can't heal on her own. However, since the medallion is what's keeping her alive, removing it will immediately kill her, until such a time as it's placed back on (or in) her person.Nen: Ninsar has one Hatsu ability lying dormant within her. She is a Conjurer.Hero's Flight: This ability conjures forth a pair of golden metallic wings that hover just behind Ninsar's back. These wings, as wings tend to do, allow Ninsar to fly. That's it really.
Maeriberii Haan
[spoiler=Rainmaker]天巧The Skillful Star “The stars are so high above...” Personal InformationName: Miaris Caelia CannesAge: 16Sex: FemaleRace: Human[spoiler=Appearance] 160 centimeters, 49 kilograms. Non-athletic build, but has good endurance. Note that her cloak has a hood with it.[spoiler=Personality]Cheerful and friendly is what one could describe Mia as. Well, not completely correctly, but it's a fair estimate of how she is. She is someone that doesn't really actively try to make enemies, and focuses more on getting friends and allies with her bright disposition and upbeat yet reasonable approach to life and interactions. Whether she was originally like this or she developed this trait to help her survive in the pressure of her position is unclear. A hardworker by definition, she is someone that always kept pushing her limits further and further, as it was what demanded by the people around her. While she would definitely prefer leisure and lax environments more, she enjoyed the high-pressure environment she's in as it is quite mentally stimulating for her. Her sheer unyielding determination often carries her throughout all these pressures, although there are times where even she would have to catch a break. This determination stems from her chronic inferiority complex due to her being self-conscious of her lack of potential. A form of overcompensation, if one may say. This self-consciousness also manifested as self-deprecation, at times in an unhealthy level. She views herself as trash or worse, who could only be in where she is due to luck. She realizes that she's simply a leech and a fraud - a cancer to the proud lineage, but she couldn't bring herself to just leave since it would only jeopardize her mother. She couldn't be happy about her achievements, since she views them as far from enough to redeem someone like her. She's really bitter when it comes to this topic. That aside, she has a strong sense of responsibility - completely aware of the gravity of bearing the emblem of the Rainmakers. She's also surprisingly crafty with her approach to things. Since she's the type of people that wouldn't be able to win anything the fair way, she opens her mind to as many possibilities or ways to solve something, not even being deterred to take ways that can count as cheating or worse. She's quite pragmatic in approach, more or less.[spoiler=Biography]The Cannes family was a lineage of individuals gifted with incredible affinity to Nen, and it had been around for a lot of generations. It used to be a lineage of nobilities too, but the kingdom was invaded and annexed by another around four generation before, and the surviving members of the family ended up moving into another kingdom and served in strategic positions there. A lot of them were Hunters too, starting with the generation that moved after the kingdom was invaded. They bore the title of "Rainmaker" - the ones who create miracles out of nothingness. Into this lineage, Mia was born. The only daughter from the main family, though it's really not the case. Her mother, who married into the family, was actually sterile, so she faked a pregnancy and ended up adopting a kid without the rest of the family knowing. That kid was of course Mia. As she started her training, she soon realized that she was, figuratively and literally, the bad blood of the entire family. She carried barely any Nen potentials, and she couldn't follow the lessons she was taught to be a good successor for the lineage well. It was around this time she learned the truth from her mother. Mia realized that her mother and her family was dependent on the support they got from the Cannes clan to survive, and she also realized if the truth went out, she would be kicked out of the family, or worse. And even more concerning, once they started to doubt her actual lineage, they could do a simple DNA test to prove that she was adopted instead of her mothers' actual daughter. With this realization giving her a lot of pressure on top of the pressure everyone else gave her for being the carrier of the lineage, Mia almost fell into despair, but she decided to come back with a resolve in the end. Even if she's pretty much trash, she could just put a lot more effort into things to cover her weakness. That belief and the insane amount of effort she put into her studies and training ended up saving her. Even if she was barely scraping the expected level of Nen mastery that her teachers taught her, she managed to far exceed their expectation when it comes to important knowledge of laws, statemanship, and other academic topics. However, even so she was still very aware of the fact that as much effort as she put into it, it wouldn't be able to cover her lack of potential forever and that she was simply stalling for time with this. When she was sixteen, as a part of the family's rite of passage, she entered the Hunter Exam. However, she also had something else in her mind by entering it. She was hoping to find a way to actually ensure that the secret would forever be kept hidden - a way to make her ability grow even if it couldn't anymore. Especially with the side families all vying their eyes to take her position, she vowed to find that way and pass the Exam, or die trying.[spoiler=Abilities]-Stage Magic and Trickeries: A skill she picked up during her spare time, she could perform these using mundane methods. Being knowledgeable of the secrets behind each acts and ways to deceive the viewers and play around with their senses, she could also apply that knowledge out of it, to some degrees of success.-Physical and Mental Endurance: Mia's endurance had been tempered by all the grooming she got to be the next head of the clan, whether it's mental or physical. Even then, she's not really physically outstanding outside of her endurance.-Vast Knowledge-Firearm usage: To protect herself, Mia carries two handguns with her. She is aware that it wouldn't help her much in a fight against a Nen-user or someone with better physical training than her, but she still uses it well, especially since she does have the ability to buff her eyesight slightly with Gyo, or channel her Nen to each of her bullets. Oh also, her broom is a shotgun.[spoiler=Nen]Type: ManipulatorHer Nen nodes have been fully opened, and she had been taught about the four major principles of Nen, while being able to utilize the advanced forms of it. While her barely-there affinity was a huge pain, she demonstrates a great deal of control of what she do have. She couldn't manifest her Hatsu now. She specializes in Zetsu and In, mainly because it doesn't take much to conceal what's barely there in the first place.Note that this does not count her gift as one of the 108 stars, something that she's still unaware of. [spoiler=Miscellaneous]-Despite despising the fact behind her actual lineage, she loves her adoptive mother a lot - and her presence was the only reason Mia didn't just quit and run away from the family.-Other than that, she is also very close to the matriarch of the clan, which was her adoptive great grandmother. The matriarch is actually aware of the truth, but decided to not tell anyone about it as she respected Mia's determination a lot.-Wears a magician's attire mainly out of respect for the occupation.-She loves staring at the night sky, for reasons that only she knows about.-Theme Song: RD-Sounds - Stargazer
Raine
Hoyer "Tinman" Stannum Ready to dance, muchachos! [spoiler=App] Hoyer "Tinman" Stannum "Oy, let's make a show of this now! We wouldn't want to dissappoint anyone!" Personal InformationAlias: TinmanSex: MaleAge: He stopped counting after 100 and that was X number of years ago. Physical Appearance: mid-30'sRace: Human [spoiler=Appearance] 182 cm, 76 kg. [spoiler=Personality]Tinman is an ancient human who's been cursed with the borderline immortality to aging, he ages just extremely slowly, but without any significant regenerative abilities. He is a sarcastic, light-hearted but loyal to his one philosophy which dictates virtually his every major action. He is not particularly strong compared to his betters, so he prefers to fight with words, and suggestions. This strategy is hampered however, by the fact that is an exceedingly playful, mischievous, and perverted except in the most extreme situations which calls for his best physically as well as mentally. His self-enforced philosophy is the product of a very long life witnessing both the injustice and the good in the world. He firmly believes the world is at it's highest intensity when both balance of forces are in check, and history can progress along its intended path. As a servant of that belief, he acts on behalf of the losing side always. The difference between him and a do-gooder, is that his perceptive is usually unique and seeing much shorter or longer terms of balance making his brand of logic difficult to predict. He has very few friends but is more than willing to have mutual relationships with people or groups that he sees having need of his supervision. Tinman's philosophy is his own, and he does not enforce or even educate others of it out of self interest. In relationships, he will try to be as forthcoming and helpful as he can for a reasonable return of coarse. He is attempting to become a hunter, out of a combination of duty and finding additional freedom and power out of his increasingly dull life. [spoiler=Backstory]There comes a time when the past becomes nearly irrelevant, Hoyer hasn't quite reached that point but if we're rounding up, it's close. A very long time ago, Hoyer was just a boy in a place is probably gone (he hasn't checked) when a series of very bad things happened. These bad events caused a domino effect to which is now probably only interesting to scholars but the ultimate result was Hoyer being "cursed" with a parasitic creature that infused with his nen, which at the time drained his life force immensely. However, as he survived, the relationship became symbiotic and the parasite forced his ability to use nen to feed off him, while Hoyer used the parasite as a permanent amplifier for Ten. The effect is so strong and permanent that nen has virtually stopped flowing from his body all together, keeping his life force from leaving him at all except in minimum amounts. This leads to the current powers of the man now known as Tinman, extreme-life extension, high defense to emotional nen, and superior nen support abilities. The parasite however, still irremovable from his body, has had the downside of making nearly all high-powered or offensive use of nen futile. In any case, this explains his life as he has been traditionally a nomad serving his ideology in small-scenarios throughout recent history. His particular specialty is bounty hunting, whether aiding the hunters or prey depending on the situation. He tends to avoid monsters of creatures with low intelligence since it's primary tools are words and support skills. Recently however, he's been pestered by the Hunters to attempt to join, being a neutral part he had avoided the exam in the past but his limitations and lack of funds have hampered his success overall so he is finally attempting as a compromise to himself, and while he still has the will to live fully. Nen Abilities:Tinman's primary combat strategy revolves around short-range submission hand-to-hand combat, since his external nen abilities are somewhat limited. Because of this, he favors short fights and overwhelming opponents into defensiveness, in longer fights he risks being over powered. His limited nen abilities come from his nen parasite, he can reinforce his skin and bones to strengthen himself, but is incapable of increasing his regenerative powers. He can potentially do much more, but is restrained by his nen use. Nen Type: Manipulation - Organic Manipulation. LordCowCowCowCowCowCowCowCow
So out of curiosity does the time of arrival (and therefore the number given) actually mean anything? Or is it just whenever people happened to show up?
