Card A

vjJ0jnv.jpg

This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by banishing 1 Machine-Type monster from your Graveyard while the only monsters in your Graveyard are Machine-Type monsters. Once per turn, you can discard 1 card to Special Summon 1 Machine-Type monster with 1500 or less ATK from your Graveyard, then you can destroy 1 monster your opponent control whose ATK is less than the Special Summoned monster.

Card B

aDUfixn.jpg

Cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. Must first be Special Summoned by tributing Machine-type monsters from your side of the field whose total level is 8 or more. When this card is Special Summoned this way, destroy 1 card on the field for each Machine-type monsters tributed this way. You cannot summon another monster for the rest of the turn you activated this effect. When a card effect targets this card if this card is the only monster you control, you can tribute this card; Special Summon 1 Machine-type monster from your graveyard, except "The Magnificent Steam Engine".

I pick Card A, I like both of the cards actually, but I feel Card A works better in my gadget machine deck. Card A can be summoned much more easier. After Special Summoning it, I can revive my Gadget from Graveyard, and offset the discarding cost with +1 effect. I can still Normal Summon after all these lol. I can simply summon another Gadget, and then Exceed Summon a Rank 4 mob. The additional destroying effect isn't needed imo. I am sure there are more deck that can utilize this card. Geargia maybe? (I rarely play yugioh nowadays)

On the other hand, Card B, I am not sure which deck can work with it. And I think Machina Fortress is a better version of this. This card is quite hard to summon because the tribute is limited on field. I can't just S.s with 1 monster, because its effect depend on the number of tribute. Furthermore, I can't summon any monster after that. Too much minus. Even though it can revive a monster when it is targeted by effect, the cost (tribute) and restriction (while it is alone) are too much and also a simple d.prison will kill me.

Card A: Nomi monster that can only be SS while you only have Machines in the grave, discards to SS a 1500 ATK or lower monster and destroy another monster with lower stats.

Card B: Similar condition to Fortress (except from field), destroys cards equal to the number of Machines tributed (similar to Junk Destroyer) but seals off any summoning for rest of the turn. Can tribute itself to summon another Machine except itself if/only if it's alone on the field/targeted by an effect.

Both are balanced, but card A gets it for playability and less negative effects for its user. Card B is a harder to summon Fortress and its Tribute/SS effect is very situational.

Ok, first of all - dat card A image.

But despite that - my vote has to go to card B.

Card A's summon cost is just too minimal for what it does, and discard 1 to revive + potential destroy is just... too much I think, someone mentioned Gadget abuse, but Geargia abuse is pretty mad too, and this can actually make R8s with Bureido sooo yeah. Add to that the LIGHT Attribute and Machine Type combo, which give it an additional layer of usefulness and power and... things escalate.

Card B, has a more interesting and interactive design. It requires more effort to summon, sure, but it gives out reward that are actually proportionate to that effort. The 'you cannot summon any more monsters' and 'if this card is the only monster you control' parts feel like poor attempts at weakening a monster that seriously didn't deserve it, but still, in terms of creativeness and balance, I will vote for this one.
