I'm in the mood again, so here I am again.

Rules:

1. All YCM and 1v1 rules apply.

2. Cards must be sent before 48 hours has passed after acceptance.

3. Voting ends 72 hours after cards are entered.

4. Contest will use the AB system, first to 3 votes wins.

5. Voters must have a reason for voting one way or another.

6. Winner gets 1 rep from the loser.

7. Written cards are MANDATORY. Mainly because I can't get the image pasting to work...

8. The challenger may choose the conditions of the created card.

The challenge is to make a Rank 9 monster.
Archangel Gabriel

Rank: 9/ Attribute: LIGHT

Fairy/Xyz/Effect

2700/2200

2 Level 9 monsters

You can also Xyz summon this card by using a Rank 7 or 8 Xyz Monster you control as Xyz Material. (Xyz Materials attached to that monster also become Xyz materials on this card.) This card gains 400 ATK for each Xyz material attached to it. Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; destroy 1 Spell/Trap card on the field.

Savage Scourge of the Sky

Rank 9/ WIND

Winged Beast/ Xyz/ Effect

3000/3000

2 level 9 monsters

You may also Xyz Summon this card by using 2 or more Xyz Monsters whose combined Ranks equals 9 or more. Xyz Materials attached to those cards return to the deck. You may detach 1 Xyz Material from this card: Destroy 1 monster on the field whose Level or Rank equals 8 or more. During your Standby Phase, if this card has no Xyz Material: Switch control of this card, then the new controller of this card takes 800 points of damage.
Voting for Card A. Frankly Card B has a better concept, but is all over the place with effects that don't really have much synergy. I like its combining Xyz theme but the control change and random burn feel too out of place... also awkward wording hurts my eyes.

Card A is... rather straightforward and boring, but better balanced. Honestly I have qualms with both these cards, most especially how they both have alternate summoning ways which seems really cheap to do in a rank 9 since the contest requirements didn't call for it. Also names are awkward. But card A still takes this for being more solid and usable.

Also Card A has its OCG name, its TCG name would have to be Archlord Gabriel since angel is taboo word for us devout Christians.

Card A:

The S/T removal effect is bland, and can Xyz evolve like Gaia Dragoon. Because of the latter, the card is as problematic as Gaia Dragoon, allowing you to bypass restrictions on Xyzs after they have used their effects. Juts like Gaia can be dropped over Volcasaurus or Atum after they used their effects to virtually skip their "cannot attack" restrictions, you could do the same with this card on monsters such as Giant Grinder or Big Eye; or you can be silly and drop it over Gaia Dragoon itself to virtually turn any Rank 5~6 into this.

Card B:

Also has a Xyz evolution condition, but in my opinion a difficult one to fulfill because you will need to drop Xyz of different Ranks, including a Rank 5+. The first effect is good against Decks with Synchros or main Deck bosses, but not that good against most Xyz-centric Decks besides Gimmick Puppets, Galaxy, etc. And the last effect is bad: it gives the opponent a powerful beatstick/wall for free, at the cost of 800 LP that can be easily paid. The card is not worth the investment of 2 Xyz Monsters in my opinion, unless you use Xyzs that have already used all of their materials, but that would be situational. And really, I don't think players would be interested in dedicating an Extra Deck space to this just for the slight chance of dropping it.

Basically, it goes down to voting for an arguably unfair card, or a underpowered card. My vote goes to Card B for not being abusable.

Tiebreaker needed? Alright, so Card A get my vote, it is the higher Rank Gaia, well it's effects are, as those above me mentioned, simple, boring and around balanced to strong, though better when comparing to Card B's underrated effects, nice alternative condition there, but the destruction is too situational and barely find its use due to current gamestate and the control change effect is really really unneeded
