Deadline

Card must be PM'd to me by 48 hours after I accepted the challenge.

Votes deadline is 72 hours after cards are up.

What should be made?

With Xyz, Synchro, Fusion, Rituals, and tribute monsters all done, now let's make Pendulums!

No, that's a horrible idea.

Stupid Ain.

Oh yeah, requirement is to make a standalone level 4 monster. Not an archetype monster, mind you.

Because of some issues, the cards will be up in this post.

Card A:

Nightmare Trumpeter
*4 Warrior/Effect Dark 1000/1900
When this card is Normal or Flip Summoned, change this card into Defense Position. Each time a card(s) is sent from your hand or your deck to the graveyard, increase the ATK and DEF of all DARK monsters you control by 150. You can attach this card to a DARK Xyz monster you control as an Xyz Material; it gains the effects of this card as long as this card is attached to it as an Xyz Material.

Card B:
ZE8VcpE.jpg

You can send 1 Spell Card from your hand or side of the field to the Graveyard; Special Summon this card (from your hand). You can tribute this face-up card, then target up to 3 Spell Cards in your Graveyard; Shuffle them into the deck. You can only activate either effect of "Potion Conductress" once per turn.

Please start voting. The written lore is correct on the second card, not the card text.

Card A has decent DARK support, but it especially shines in Dark World decks. It also has Xyz support as well, and the power-up effect isn't that overpowering at first, though it has the potential to get out of hand if used correctly. Card B has some decent spell support, and seems most effective in a Spellbook deck. The special summon's nice, as it keeps you at +0 with the draw. It's other effect would let you reclaim powerful spells like Dark Hole and other limited/semi-limited spells already used. Both cards have appropriate effects for level 4 monsters, but I shall vote for card B due to it's variety in many decks. The condition was to make a stand-alone level 4 monster, and card B did a better job at that than card A, since card A is limited to DARK support.

Card A:

It seems underwhelming: All it does is increasing ATK, and it is slow at that. I don't think this is worth running, even in decks that constantly or massively discard/mill cards.

Card B:

It can be used to fix the hand or turn a Continuous/Field Spell you no longer want into a +0 while Special Summoning herself for your Synchro/Xyz needs. The second effect is nice fo recycling power Spells I doubt you will want or get to use it often, and you should be using this card for her first effect. Also, I get the feeling that she would find a place in Spellbooks/Prophecies.

My vote goes for Card B for having a better effect.

Card B has my vote by a landslide. Sorry but having to add 150 (not even a multiple of 100) to multiple monsters multiple times is just... not good design whatsoever, and even worse, it won't mount up quickly enough to be relevant barring extreme circumstances, so it just feels like awkward padding for the main effect, which is actually the ability to freely attach it to a DARK Xyz. However as it stands there aren't many cases where even that would play a crucial role.

Card B probably lies on the overpowered side a bit. Second effect is almost irrelevant, but first effect could easily open up an unwanted can of worms in Fire Fists. Still much better design than A. My vote goes to Card B.

Card A kinda weak, even can permanent boost more than 1k in a single turn, but it's so slow and only ATK gain is really nothing for current gamestate, which removal card can be found easily. Card B is interesting, discard an unwant Spell like 7th one to become a R4 fodder or 3 Spells recycler, this in the deck that focus on Spell cards like Spellbooks or FF can cause some situational change

overall I vote Card B due to it's playable that Card A doesn't have

Edit: Ninja'd XD

For a moment I thought that said "Photon Conductress", lol.

Mind if I try card B in one of my created card decks? It seems like it could be fun to use but I don't want to steal it without premission.

Scratch that, I think I'll make that idea into an archetype instead. Don't worry though. I'll be sure not to break fire fists.

edit: and its up, thanks for the inspiration!
