Requirement

The challenger must propose a requirement, which I can accept or decline. The requirement is a Level 1 non-Tuner monster.

[spoiler='Card A']

X4VAn9c.jpg

When this card is Summoned, select 1 level 1 monster in your graveyard, except "Arianna, the Fairy of Miracles". When this face-up card is sent from the field to the graveyard, Special Summon the selected monster to your side of the field. During either player's turn, if this card is in your graveyard, you can banish this card; all face-up Level 2 or lower monster OR Rank 1 or lower monsters on your side of the field is unaffected by your opponent's card effects until the End Phase. Each players can only activate this effect of "Arianna, the Fairy of Miracles" once per duel.

[spoiler='Card B']

When a card or effect is activated: You can discard 1 card; equip this card from your hand or Graveyard to a LIGHT monster you control. The equipped monster gains 100 ATK and DEF, also it is unaffected by other card effects. You can only use the effect of "Divine Arms - Clarent" once per turn. During each End Phase, if this card is face-up on the field, banish it.

Card A: Selects a Level 1 monster when summoned, SS that monster when it dies, banishes itself in the Graveyard to protect Level 2 and under / Rank 1 (there are no monsters with a rank of 0) from the opponent's effects until End Phase.

Card B: Equips self to a LIGHT monster when an effect/card activates, said monster gains 100 ATK/DEF and effect immunity, banishes self if face-up on the field.

----

Vote for card B due to usability (both cards are equally balanced from my POV).

The stat boost isn't much, but it does give the equipped monster immunity to your opponent's cards but also blocks your own effects on it. You could also use it for Synchro/Fusion/Xyz/Tribute material and then equip it from the grave there. But it's a one-time use thing (given the last effect of banishing itself if face-up).

Card A has its own uses (run in Decks centered around lower Level monsters and one-time protection for them.) The protection effect mentions Rank 1 and under (but as I noted in the summary, there aren't any Rank 0 monsters in the TCG).

A

brings new mechanics for level\rank 1-2. A part from the unaffected part, i don't know if ths card will be clearly useful, but at least it can surely lead to new gameplay situations.

B

as far as i can see it's only an additional forbidden lance for LIGHTs with a discard cost. And since in my opinion LIGHTs are already overpowered,

I vote A

Card A.

It looks really slow. It is only playable in Level-1 decks such as Piper and its variants, and I can't see how those decks would find this card useful: The only monster they want to recycle from the grave is Piper, and Kinka-Byo does it faster than this card. IF its first effect triggered even when sent as an Xyz Material to the grave, or it was a Tuner, then it would be ridiculously good (Kinka, Summon this, target Piper, go Synchro or Xyz and detach Arianna, Summon Piper), but that's not the case. The protection effect is nice, but I doubt Level-1 decks would be interested in a slower Kinka just for that effect.

Card B.

It is apparently balanced. It lets you basically turn any card into a temporary Felgrand-like effect. In exchange, the card is a -1 when used as a hand trap, and while it is on the grave, the opponent will know the card is available and thus will refrain from using S/Ts that target any LIGHT monster you control. However, the card should remain useful for saving a monster from mass-destruction effects such as Dark Hole or Torrential, including your own. The only thing I don't like is how Lightsworns can abuse this by milling it or taking advantage of the discard for fixing the hand.

My vote goes to Card B, because, even if it would be abused by LS, it helps the decks it is intended to support by providing them with an interesting tool.

I vote for Card A due to usability in many decks, despite being slow.

Card B is kind of useless. Specific Activating, must discard, useless effect, apparently gets banished.

Card B is absolutely useless, while A has merit and an actually decent protection. BTW there is nothing lower than Rank One. Bad OCG there. lel

XD

It IS hard somewhat to use A, but at least it isn't....worthless, IMO.

Goddammit TGM stop reading my thoughts.

Yeah, I vote for A. It might be a bit slow, but it's still runnable in more decks compared to B. For example: Mystic Piper, Junk Doppel, Wights and probably something or other. Card B is an attribute specific, discard one time only Forbidden Lance outclassed by... well... Forbidden Lance, whaddya expect? Only deck the darn thing will see use in is Lightsworn, but it doesn't seem to showing up in my abuse radar, so it's still weak.

BTW, card A can be immensely better if the SS effect is phrased like "IF this card is sent to the graveyard...", that way more synchro shenaniganz can happen and it won't be hideously slow. Same principal with Gustos. Her effect misses timing if used for Synchro.
