[Leaderboard] Tormented vs. Lolithar

Yo I heard you people like punishing the scrub lords, so I'm looking for a challenger to thrash my booty. It'll be first to 3 and It'll just have to be an effect monster with a life point steal effect. 

 

Rules:

2. First to 3 votes
3. PM card & text for A/B system.
4. 1st place gets a rep from 2nd place.
5. Votes should be fairly detailed (good votes get likes).
 

 

Feel free to laugh at my incompetence.

 

Card A:

LORE: This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. While you control another monster: This card cannot be attacked. When this card deals damage to your opponent: Send the top 3 cards from their Deck to their Graveyard; They lose 300 Life Points and you gain 300 Life points for each Spell card sent to the Graveyard this way.

 

Card B:

 

LORE: During battle between this attacking card and a Defense Position monster whose ATK is lower than the DEF of this card, remove the equal amount from your opponents Life Points and add that amount to your Life Points. If the Defense Position monster's ATK is equal to the DEF of this card, toss a coin and call heads or tails. If you call it wrong, destroy this card.

Both cards are up! 

[Northern Sage]

Card A is either useless or a walking OTK. It's searchable, but getting it to hit the field and getting off its effect is pretty mind-numbing. If it does go off, though, the flawed wording could create an OTK situation.

Card B makes a nice addition to the Vampire family as a beatstick, while also having some interesting aesthetic. The last effect is kind of random and situational, though.

Card A's design is pretty much a big no-no, so a vote for Card B.

My reasoning for the last part is to live up more to the "gambit" name as well as an attempt to balance it out slightly.

Card A: Making your opponent lose life points and inflicting damage are two different things, so he isn't really a walking OTK by itself. Was the wording changed? Anyways, it is interesting, but is pretty weak all things considered. Has no real home.

Card B: Nice beater stats and at a nice Level, and the effect is very nice and unique. One thing I dislike about him is the fact he isn't a Vampire, but a Vampiric, which is a huge let down.

Overall, though, A is useless and B is atleast a beater with some extra jazz. Vote for B.

Neither of them strike me as being that useful. Aztec is hard to get out and has a situational trigger for her effect, which isn't even very good unless your playing hardcore mill. But I still wouldn't run it in mill because it can't be normal summoned. 

 

I don't really know the vampiric archetype too well, so I don't know if the effect has some specific utility, but if it doesn't, then it also has quite a situational effect since your opponent has to have a very low atk monster. But it is still more useful than aztec I'd say, A decent attack as well. So I'll vote for B. 

 

They both have nice artwork anyway.

Also reason for not being "Vampire Gambit" is that it makes less sense than vampiric gambit.

Yes, in fact, my first thought when I read "Life steal" was vampires, but I didn't want to go with the obvious. That came back to bite me.

I was originally going to go for a psycho cannibal so meh.
