The Grand Crossover RP - Pathway to Origin [OOC/Apps Closed for Finale]

Recommended Posts

[spoiler=Final Fantasy Revolution:]

In a world where you could be anyone, one man dares to be himself."

Username: Final Fantasy Revolution

Name: Final Fantasy Revolution

Known Aliases: FFR, Final, Jonathan, The Gentleman, Final Fantasy Revelution, Senpai,

Age: Character too mysterious for age.

Gender: Male

Appearance: Since appearing in YCM: The Roleplay, Final Fantasy Revolution has undergone a costume change. His hair is mid-length, black and shaggy, eyes of crystal blue are hidden behind sunglasses, and a medium length brown-orange beard on his face. FFR wears a forest green cloak about his shoulders with three golden buttons on the right seam; appearing on the back is the Kanji for Senpai (先輩) written in gold. He wears broken-in blue jeans held up with a black leather belt and a long sleeve black shirt. On his feet he wears average looking sneakers that are black with dark blue strings. He also has an oak wood pipe that he sometimes uses to blow smoke, when it's beneficial.

Origin: http://forum.yugiohcardmaker.net/topic/234291-ycm-the-roleplay/?p=4905302

Biography: After thwarting the destruction of the web-universe known as Yugioh Card Maker Forum, Final Fantasy Revolution seemed to have disappeared for a long while. During the time in which he was gone from YCM, he wrote things for other websites and found a decent paying job. After writing for awhile and working for a longer while, he decided that he would come back to the world of YCM. Within the YCM world he had made a great discovery when he found the Grand Crossover Role Play. FFR knew to join in such an amazing world he would have to create a faux version of himself using his intense imagination and the all-mighty host approval.

Personality: Final Fantasy Revolution has a calm and caring nature and he has a great amount of patience to wait things out and plan for the best outcome he could make. Although he doesn't get angry easily, he will fight hard for the things he believes in and will defend someone who isn't or can't defend themselves. Despite having a good moral compass and strong moral ground, FFR has chosen to be Divine because the possibilities the door could bring are far too great for him to resist. When not discussing a serious matter, FFR has a whimsical attitude about him and his usually carrying a light smile.

Faction: Divine

Important Artifact Stolen: Blue Ink Pen and Small Notebook

[spoiler=Powers/Equipment:]

Oak Wood Pipe- FFR's oak pipe can produce a cloud of smoke to cover the battlefield as a distraction and form of defense.

Blade of Wonder- The blade about FFR's left hip can emulate any random move or ability from any universe. (Blade of Wonder has a cool down of two of FFR's posts, cool down only reduces if FFR is within his own form.) The sword is also unbreakable and not usable in any form other than his own form.

Amateur Sword Handling Abilites- FFR can handle a sword, but is in no way an expert.

Senpai Cloak- FFR's cloak bestows upon him an increased stat of strength and speed so as to keep up with the other characters within the Role Play. The cloak also emits a protection aura that reduces damage done to FFR while in his own form only.

Magical Golden Buttons
Within each of the buttons attached to FFR's cloak is the essence of a character created by FFR, this allows FFR to change into those characters upon pressing a button. Each transformation has a cool down rate of two of FFR's posts and character cool downs can only decrease while FFR is in his own form (I.E. FFR can change into Jisan Letriyou, but the cool down won't decrease if he enters another form after that other than his own form.) Each form only lasts for three posts maximum, FFR may terminate a transformation early but this will not reduce cool down penalty.

Button1: Vayne Krieger
Button2: Jisan Letriyo
Button3: Nashiki Omaragi

Hello, Merciful.

Just wondering why Vorahk, Kamikirimusi, and E haven't appeared on the Accepted Characters list yet.

Am I not permitted to post yet?

Uh... Dude, when I say accepted, it means that your characters can post. I'm just a little lazy to put them on the list right now. No need to keep checking the Accepted Characters List over and over.

But eh, E isn't accepted yet. Not until you edit his application to include the 'blind' part~

BTW, do you have a Skype account? The rest of us have a kind of group chat there about the GCRP which helps us plan out things and stuff.

Well uh I don't even know what I'm doing but it seems okay I guess maybe a little unsure but hey he is weak and he is puny and he is you so it is probably alright and therefore accepted~

I'm doing all this over mobile. I couldn't Skype even if I had an account.

Do I really have to go back and type it, or can it be an accepted portion understood via contract of words? Editing posts right now is a complete and total pain.

Wait, seriously? Huh.

...Well, alright. BUT, as soon as you have access to a computer or laptop, you've really gotta head over to your application and edit to include the 'blind' part, alright?

I Rather enjoy that Arthur's rank hasn't increased since Arc 1-spite having done some "crazy stuff"

Origin: http://forum.yugiohcardmaker.net/topic/204901-war-of-darkness-ooc-thread/page-10?do=findComment&comment=4402184

Biography: After an intense battle with The Darkness, that spanned over three years time, Arlene once again returned to the Forest's of Aether to be their protector and guardian for the remainder of her years. However, Arlene did not stop honing her powers and growing her skills to become a stronger fighter on behalf of the side of good. Two years had passed with Arlene mastering many new abilities offered to her by the forest; some were also handed down by Ara'k (A-rock) herself, the Archer God surely predicting Arlene would need them some day. Arthuria had come looking for on of the few surviving champions from the war against darkness. When she appeared Arlene already had her bow trained on Arthuria, she wouldn't be able to sneak up on Arlene, not here, not in the forests. "State your business." Arlene commanded of the Counter Guardian, since The Darkness had come from portals, there wasn't any reason to expect that Arthuria wasn't a remnant. "I come here on behalf of the entire multiverse, to fight an evil far greater than this world has known." Arlene lowered her bow and opened her ears to listen...

Personality: Although Arlene has become battle-hardened and courageous during the war with The Darkness, some of her past qualities still shine through the thick coating of maturity she was forced to grow from the confrontations. Her parents, though losing their own lives to the war, had taught her to value all living things and to not be bitter; Arlene makes exceptions to eliminate truly pure sources of darkness and evil when necessary. As a mother would her child, Arlene tends and cares for the forest; this is also where she spends all of her days, the war robbing her of any yearn for adventure. Arthuria had to explain that much more than a forest would be at risk, a risk that would reduce in percentage if Arlene would lend her aid. This being the same reasoning that was used to convince Arlene to join the war against The Darkness, she had no other option but to accept Arthuria's request.

Faction: Counter Corps.

Important Artifact Stolen: Activation Device for Interdimensional Portals, I suppose.

[spoiler=Powers/Equipment: ]

The Bow of Ara'k: Ara'k, within the world Arlene comes from, is the God of Archery; legend has it that the very bow Arlene wields now was created by the god and then lost from her hand within some altercation. When Arlene had found the bow, Ara'k had spoken and made it known that it was her destiny to wield such a powerful instrument. When Arlene had chosen to accompany Arthuria, Ara'k herself had locked her spirit away into the bow, making the weapon much more powerful.

-Celestial Arrows: The bow of Ara'k fires unlimited arrows composed of extremely potent energy, these arrows have massive purification properties and are greatly effective against darkness and evil.

-Spreadfire: This is a spell that can only be cast by the wielder of The Bow of Ara'k; the wielder pulls the string to generate one arrow and initiates the spell's name to herself. Twenty arrows are then generated about the user, ten on each side, aiming toward the user's respective target. When the arrow first generated is fired from the bow, the twenty additional arrows will also be fired.

-Celestial Shower: The user of this spell fires on arrow at the targets feet to mark a homing location, then, many arrows are rained down upon the selected area and target.

General Weaponry:

Short sword, enhanced with the power of light.

Throwing Knives (2)

Small supply satchel containing healing herbs and natural medicines.

Swift Combatant: Due to her battle experience and smaller frame, Arlene is a swift and speedy fighter, having a higher dodge rating and being able to move quickly throughout a battlefield.

Expert Archer: Due to spending her entire life using a bow and honing her skills through the Bow of Ara'k, Arlene has become an expert in the ways of archery.

Adept Swordsmanship: Though not as proficient as her skill the the bow, Arlene's skill with a blade far surpasses that of a novice.

Above Average Strength: Arlene has gained an above human average level of strength, where she comes from she would be considered superhuman; within the multiverse she has only decent strength.

Naturesense: Arlene has given her life to the forest, and in gratitude they extended this power to her, she can communicate with nature in a way. After touching a tree within a forested area, the entire area becomes mapped out in her head; including the presence of other beings within the forestation, but no way to tell whom they might be.

Barkskin: Arlene can increase the endurance of her skin so that she can take more damage, the highest being equivalent to steel; her skin does not take likeness to bark in anyway, it is merely a name.

ATTENTION, ALL GCRP PARTICIPANTS

Adam will be going on a brief hiatus, for some personal time.  In light of these events, the GCRP main thread will likely be quiet.  In order to maintain interest and keep activity alive, I will be creating two sub-threads, or "filler rps" until his return.  In these threads, there will be no set pace, no set goal.  The threads will be as followed, and linked here:

"The Counter Corps Go to the Beach"

and

"A Divine Time in France".

the theme is meant to be vacation, but if anyone has any ideas, please list them!  In the meantime, Yachiru will be hosting a Q&A!  Be sure to look for "The Curious Mind of Yachiru" in the Miscellaneous section!

[spoiler=The Extinguished Sun]

"I'm back for one last go...at least, I think I'm back..."

Username: YRPOtaku169

Name: The Extinguished Sun

Age: 0

Gender: Female

Appearance: The Extinguished Sun has a rather variable appearance, with different people seeing her based on their own ideals and positive perceptions of Itsu or the Fudo twins. Warriors, for instance, will see her as a fellow soldier, with armor ranging across time and space based on that warrior's own time period. Spellcasters will encounter a mage of familiar garments and stylings. More technical people will have a cyborg or a gynoid accompanying them. Civilians can see anywhere from a geisha to a woman in plainclothes to a cosplayer. But the Extinguished Sun has constants. Her color scheme is usually red, gold, and black, and has symbolism of dragons and fire. Her hair is red and/or black, with bangs on the front, her face is the same throughout her appearances, and has some Asian traits, and her eyes are either blue, gold, or heterochromatic between the two. She does have a few default appearances for those that have never seen her before, such as her original, kimono-clad form as the Goddess Itsu, her old, pre-ascendence form as Itsu Solace, Interdimensional Troubleshooter, her Knight of Solace garb, Yuki Fudo's traveling gear, or, her true form, which is a raven-haired woman with red highlights wearing an elaborate kimono with red and black designs depicting suns going red giant, going supernova, or collapsing into black holes, and wearing makeup resembling Dios de los Muertos facepaint.

Origin: Return of the Earthbound Immortals

Biography: After the events in the Rejected World, Yuki and Izumi were fused together thanks to the strange effects of the Zetsu plant that transformed the latter sister into a Zetsu. This strange amalgamation of organic matter also contained over 28,000 souls that Izumi saved inside of herself from the dead world of Hearth, after it was corrupted by Thermopylae's creation and consumed by rampant Familiars. And yet, the will of these two refused to stay dormant, despite their petrified state, and merged with the ideals expressed by the 28,000 other souls inside of them, bringing forth a strange gestalt entity utilizing the lingering divinity Itsu left to Izumi, forming together to create the embodiment of their wills, a manifestation of Itsu herself. Some could even say that this creature is the ghost of Itsu, come back from being de-fused to complete her mission. Regardless of her origins, with her true bodies out of commission, this entity, calling herself the "Extinguished Sun", but answering to the names of her previous selves, is ready to finish the fight and stop her former love from remaking the multiverse.

Personality: The Extinguished Sun is much more detached from reality than her previous selves, making her capricious and somewhat insane, but still possessing a powerful drive and willpower to find Protheus and stop him, the last thing she remembers before she was reincarnated into this state being his appearance in the Rejected World. Even she is not entirely sure what she is, but she is pretty sure she is some sort of specter. The downside to her being a manifestation of willpower and desire means that her emotions are running rampant, resulting in rapid mood swings and emotional highs. Still, she is (mostly) Itsu, and retains most of her motivations and goals, such as fighting to protect those she considers friends and holds dear to her.

Faction: Counter Corps

Important Artifact Stolen: None

Powers/Equipment: As the ghost of a dead goddess, the Extinguished Sun has the ability to channel her own divinity into spellcasting and magical energy. She can unleash a pulse of positive energy to heal those around her, as well as reinvigorate her allies for the fight, or concentrate specifically on healing or repairing others. She can also cast a wide variety of spells, usually having the attributes of life and positive energy, such as growing plants for her to control, or pumping targets full of lethal amounts of positive energy. Plus, she can pull objects out of a pocket dimension called subspace to use in battle. She has a great deal of extrasensory perception, using her sixth sense in place of her normal senses, due to her not exactly having the proper faculties to sense normally. Finally, she can turn incorporeal at will, and even float or fly, though she prefers to remain solid as much as possible.

For the Extinguished Sun - well, Y-tak, as long as you keep that whole 'incorporeal' thing under control, I'll accept it~ Though, I imagine it might start to get a little confusing for you due to her taking on various different appearances.

As for Arlene - sure, why not? She seems to have a rather normal skillset. In which case, acccceeeppttteeedddd~

Alright everyone, here's the tier list for Arc IV~

As always, due to the rock-paper-scissors-laser nature of this RP and the even larger amount of apps, I focus primarily on sheer power in tandem with the skillset and overall intelligence. Um... Aesir's dead. Y'know, with the whole sacrifice thingy?

You know, I actually somewhat recall that myself, but I wasn't sure. I did ask the others whether Aesir was still alive or not in the Skype chat, and they told me he was, so I left him in.

The Arc 3 tier list has yet to be updated on a few things, but I'll drop Aesir immediately~ thanks for the reminder~

Just to make sure I read this whole thread right, no one has laid claim yet upon the planeswalker known as Jace Beleren? If not, I wish to reserve him so that I may scheme up his character sheet. It is always fun to play the mind mage that always gets himself waist-deep into a lot of crap... >:3

Apparently not~ The only planeswalker we have right now is Chandra, so it'd be interesting to have another one.

And thus, reserved. Though don't take too long with your application since apps will be closed again in about a week or less~ Also, if you have a Skype account, then you should probably join the GCRP Discussion Chat that most of the others here are in, to help with planning and stuff. ^_^

Biography: In the only plane he as ever been able to call 'home', Jace has found himself in a rather-peculiar role, one that has him keeping the ten ruling guilds in the realm from being after each others' throats literally. Using his new-found ability to link together multiple minds through his own, he has become an important mediator in Ravnica, with his word being the final say in any despite that forms between the realm's guilds. However, a particularly-nasty happening occurs when one of the minds being linked is Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind. Those that are linked to him often eventually wind up with a condition known as 'Firemadness', which a person goes insane from being overwhelmed by the dragon's sheer intellectual brilliance for too long. In Jace's case, he gets hit hard with a temporary case of it and it often takes him a day to recover once the link is broken. So far, after 3 such instances with the Firemind, it has happened every single time...

His current perdicament came about when one of the folks from the Dimir guild became really sly about getting around a previous declaration Jace made after the first time this happened, declaring that no one from the guilds may strike at him while he's recovering from the resulting firemadness. Instead of sending one of their own minions, some of the guildless were tasked to murder him during his rest, which would throw the plane into chaos once again. While still driven to insanity from his condition, when the conscripted guildless invaded his place to strike, he had managed to regain enough sense to do the fastest thing to get out of harm's way...to planeswalk away when the dagger almost hit him square in the heart to kill him. Unfortunately, he hasn't been able to get back and it has made him incredibly worried about his percieved home once he regained his mind in full a few hours later...

He was found during his temporary insanity by one of the folks among the Divine, one who could sense the Spark within and offered the wandering soul a chance to completely rewrite the many realities...maybe even regain what he once believed forever lost to him. Considering the fact that Jace has always walked the very-fine line of virtue and sin for almost all of his life due to his abilities and has many regrets about events that have happened, the chance to be able undo all the harm and danger that has followed him blinded his normal sense of judgement. And so, he found himself accepting the offer...

Personality: Curiosity has always gotten the better of Jace Beleren. As a magical prodigy, he delved into lessons of sorcery deeper than the other students in mage academies, and succeeded to the point that even his instructors were suspicious of him. As a specialist in mind magic, he uses his abilities to gaze into the minds of others, discovering even closely guarded secrets. This practice has led him into danger more than once...as well as into predicaments that have managed to leave him red in the face from embarrassment, making him thankful for his hooded cloak to cover his head in more than one occassion. His newfound role upon Ravnica has matured him quite a bit, forcing him to grow up in personality and make him a little less prone to self-caused predicaments...though not by much.

Faction: Divine

Important Artifact Stolen: It's not really a case of he has stolen something important as it is a case of he is something important...
Due to drastic events that led to him having to use his mental powers and his own mind to act as a bridge for people of the ten ruling guilds in the world of Ravnica and temporarily losing his own identity in the process, Beleren became something known as the Living Guildpact, a kind of mystical arbiter whose rulings are binding for the guilds on Ravnica. He is empowered to settle disputes and keep the guilds from destroying each other. When this happened, the ancient spell that made it possible reforged his identity, leaving behind minute traces of its influence in his personality. After the lone dragon of the plane, Niv-Mizzet, tested the effects of the newly-formed Guildpact by trying to declare open war upon one of the other guilds and felt forced to comply when Jace told him he may not do so, he's found himself in a permenant position upon the one plane he has ever been able to call "home"...especially since without him being back soon, Ravnica could no longer even be around when he finally gets back.

Powers/Equipment:
~Illusion-crafting: What he lacks in physical ability, Jace more than makes up for in mental ability. Often times, he would craft illusions around himself to help keep him out of harm's reach, though he is not always successful...especially since enough disbelief in an illusion has one time wound up having him visible in plain view when he tried sneaking past someone...

[spoiler=]As for his abilities to summon creatures, it is primarily through his Illusion-crafting. If he can envision it, he can make it seem like it's there. In the Secretist series, Jace summoned forth the illusion of what he thought was what the demon known as Lord Rakdos and played off it, 'ordering' the illusion to command the Rakdos group bowling through other guild territories back to their own. While most of the Rakdos followers had never seen their Lord and followed the Illusion blindly, the one in the group who HAD seen the real thing was unaffected and went directly after Jace...who had an interesting time multitasking between maintaining the illusion and not getting bloodied up by the blood witch that saw through it...and she wasn't playing nice at all. He almost lost the illusion several times during that.

~Telepathy: Jace can read the minds of those around him, leaving almost no secret unturned for the every-curious soul. It is rare for him to find someone that he can't read the mind of when he wished and those rare few always wind up spelling trouble for him...

[spoiler=]Thoughout the Secretist trio, Jace is often seen peeking into the thoughts of targetted individuals. Since it is such an innate ability for him, usable since when he was a young kid even, listening in on a being's surface thoughts takes next to no effort for him. Same can be said about sending thoughts, though he only allows himself to form mental bonds between those willing to allow for constant two-way communication. These bonds do not survive realm-hops, however, and if Jace tries to planeswalk with an active connection, he could suffer a variety of consenquences. Even his own mind is still a fragile tool underneath the various barriers one could have around it.

He has also used this in an offensive manner, projecting his conciousness into another's mind and and overwhelming it entirely to knock others out. There has been one case, however, when he put himself on his ass trying this against a two-headed ogre, due to the fact that the spell bounced and hit Jace instead of his target. Needless to say, this as a whole doesn't work on those that have no minds to begin with, such as various machines and plants.

~'Mind Sculpting': This is a dangerous ability. Jace is not only capable of reading minds, he's also capable of changing them...literally. There are many instances where he has altered or even removed memories from those around them, one time even turning the ability on himself. (That must have been a hell of a trick, all things considered...) The dangers of mental paradoxes are always present after he uses this, despite how thourough he usually is, especially when removing memories with the presicion of a surgeon.

[spoiler=]To pull examples from the books, Jace has been seen primarily removing memories through his mind-sculpting, but there are two things. One of them is whomever he's pulling the memories from WILL know someone's in their head. The second is they are not bound in their place while Jace seems to be so. This often calls for the need for someone to act as a shield while he does his work. Like a surgeon working on an operation, Jace is consumed by the task. If someone body-checks him during it, he could suffer various forms of backlash, either from the memories he's trying to remove embedding themselves into his own memories, possibly overwriting some of his own in the process or even potentially causing him to knock his own ass out if the body-check doesn't do it. The way I plan on doing this, the memories won't actually be removed until Jace finds all the memories linked to what is being searched for, and I always give the being targetted a chance to respond to this sort of intrusion.

~Mental Bridging: By channeling the thoughts of others through his own mind, Jace is able to bridge together the thoughts of others, allowing others to see and experience each other in new ways. Something interesting happens whenever he has to use this when acting as his role of mediator when one of the ones being linked is Niv-Mizzet, the draconic Firemind, however, this same interesting thing doesn't chain to others in the same link, since his own mind acts as a filter. He is often overwhelmed by this new ability, the first time giving him a whopper headache, the second time completely-shattering his identity for a time. Because of this, Jace hesitates greatly before using this ability and for good reason.

~Counterspelling: Blue magic's signature ability is the power to dispell and negate spells and Jace is no exception to this. Weaker spells can be countered with a mere thought, while more powerful spells take both a fair bit of power...and some degree of forewarning. He can't stop spells he manages to get no warning about, such as when he was down on his knees after a Rakdos blood which ripped through him with powerful pain-linked magic more than once, nor can he dispell what isn't a form of magic to begin with.
~Planeswalking: He is capable of literally 'hopping' from world to world via an unusual form of teleportation, which often brings him though a in-between realm known to him as the Blind Eternities before landing in a new realm. There are moments when, in times of extreme danger, he has used this to escape from severe danger when there was no other way to do so. However, something has been happening lately that has been making this particular ability not work like it should...and it worries the mind mage.
~Mediation (Ravnica Only): In Ravnica, when it comes to disputes of all ranges between the many guilds, his word is law and all in a guild must obey what is declared. This was due to a powerful spell cast upon him that reworked him on a soul-level, one that may even been fueled by his Spark to maintain its power and effect. Guildless folks are not affected by this, however.

Known Weaknesses:

~Mana Suppression: His magic and connection to the blue mana that fuels his spells can be surpresses or even cut off under certain circumstances. When some officers from the Azorius guild came to arrest him for then-unknown reasons, they had among them a lawmage, which was casting spells to supress the abilities of anyone not using the same kind of magic. Since his powers linked more toward the mind instead of being interwoven with the law, he found himself without the ability to use any of his magic. Since his telepathic abilities seems to also be linked to his magical abilities, that would also be shut down as well.

~Curse the Mindless: The lack of a mind creates a problem for Jace, one that winds up with him in a lot of pain if the mindless being is also physically strong.

~Physically weak: Yes, there are moments when Jace has been on the recieving end of some powerful whacks, such as when he found himself having to fight against a two-headed ogre from the Gruul guild that he found his mind magic useless against. Even when they don't seem to do any noticable damage, he often finds himself on the ground in a whole lot of pain. Sure, he's gotten good at dodging out of nessecity, but once that hit lands...unless he uses his magic upon himself to force himself to ignore the pain, he will be out of the fight. And he can't maintain that spell for long due to the body beginning to overwhelm even his focus...especially when he has to multi-task with his spells, such as actively feeling the thoughts of the other Gruul warriors watching the combat in order to fight, using the battle instincts of others to win over his foe. If it wasn't for the fact that it was a form of honor duel and that the ogre yielded the fight at the end, Jace could have easily gotten himself killed...

"Jace Beleren

Hmmm, I have a bit of knowledge on the whole Planeswalker thing, partly from Simdoggy's Chandra and partly from discussing it on the GCRP chat, so this character isn't quite as worrisome as I thought~ After all, if he's just a puny human despite his mind-reading and memory manipulation, then he can be crushed~

However, I can't accept it just yet, since it's still a bit of a dangerous app ^_^; If possible, could you clarify a few things first?

Such as - can he summon monsters, since this doesn't seem to be mentioned in the app? Then, what are the limits of his telepathy and mind-sculpting? In theory, how would these be used, how long would they take, and things like that. Also, if he is still a blue mage who can cast other types of things, then please say so.

I think your character's mostly okay, but the potential for powerplaying and metagaming can't really be ignored~ once you've clarified those issues, then I'll accept Jace.
