[M.D.] Experimental OCG Part 3 (Geminis)

Max Darkness

Recommended Posts

This, the third exhibition of my OCG changes that I'm using to cut down Monster Effect lengths focusses on Geminis. Since they all have the same effect, why can't them being treated as Normal Monsters be taken as read; as an integral part of being a '/Gemini]' monster?

Please comment on both the cards and the OCG.

Enjoy.

Effect: When this card is Gemini Summoned: You can select 1 Level 4 or lower Gemini Monster in your Graveyard that was destroyed by battle or a card effect; Special Summon it in Attack Position. During your Main Phase, except during the turn this card was Gemini Summoned: You can Tribute this face-up card; Special Summon 1 "Phoenix Seraph" from your hand or Deck.

Effect: When this card is Gemini Summoned: You can Special Summon 1 Gemini Monster from your Graveyard OR Gemini Summon 1 Gemini Monster you control. When a Gemini Monster you control would be flipped face-down: You can change it to face-up Defense Position instead. During your opponent's End Phase: You can Special Summon 1 Gemini Monster in your Graveyard that was destroyed by battle or a card effect destroyed during that turn.

Effect: When this card is Gemini Summoned, you can pick up the top 3 cards of your Deck. If there are any Equip Spell Cards among them, you can add 1 to your hand and return the rest to your Deck. Once per turn, you can select 1 face-up Spell or Trap Card you control, treat it as an Equip Card, and equip it to a Gemini Monster you control.

Effect: 1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner Gemini Monsters
This card is also treated as a Gemini Monster. While this card is face-up on the field, you can have it gain the following effect: (If you activate this effect, you cannot Normal Summon or Set during the same turn)
* Once per turn, you can select 1 Gemini Monster you control. During that turn's Battle Phase, it can attack once again, in addition to its normal attack(s).

Effect: 1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner Gemini Monsters
If the non-Tuner monster(s) used for this card's Synchro Summon had been Gemini Summoned, and that monster(s) effect can be activated, you can activate that monster(s) effect once as this card's effect. When this card is sent to the Graveyard by a card effect: You can select 1 Gemini monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon it. It is treated as an Effect Monster, and gains its effect.

for Confit Angel, you might want to change 1 thing

"Once per turn, you can select 1 Gemini Monster you control. During that turn's Battle Phase, it can attack once again, in addition to its normal attack(s)"

For that monster you select, you might want to give it an atk limit so the multi attacks don't set up OTKs too much

Well, considering most monsters will only get 2 attacks through its effect; the only exception being "Chthonian Emperor Dragon", which would end up with 3, exactly what this is designed to abuse. And since this needs to have a Gemini-esque Summon to gain the effect, it is quite a hard effect to actually activate.

I'll leave out the numberical ratings as I feel they are not worth a lot outside of contests.

Phoenix Cherub
Mhh, for some reason I have the feeling you slightly edited this one. Anywho I quite like it now.

Phoenix Seraph
Urg. I must say this card really disapoints me. I mean. It's OP like hell. While being able to stand on itsown without its effect. It's extra effects really make swarming so very easy. I mean, Sp. Sum 1 Gemini during each of your opponent's End Phases? Easy Sync/Xyz anyone? Even with its limitation it means you can basicly return any Gemini that blew up before. And also Gemini Sum it aswell.

I strongly suggest making it Semi-restricted or make it during your own End Phase.

Vulcan Princess
Ah, I do see quite some use with 'Evocator Chevalier' and 'Supervise'. Perhaps its ATK could be a tad lower, but even without it's a fine card.

Confit Angel
Generic Gemini Synchro, nothing too special. Though I like how it needs to be semi-Gemini summoned.
Just 1 question. The extra Summoning thing is just once, right? Otherwise it's a good card.

Bloodsworn Assailant
Really nice, I see loads of use with this combined with basicly any Lvl 6 or lower Gemini.

Overal nice cards though Seraph should be ballanced some more.

I thought it was exactly the same, but what the heck.

Subtle changes have been made.

"Evocator Chevalier" is a 1900/1200, so this has lost 500 DEF in return for a more tactical effect. And it is supposed to be a counterpart to "Chevalier", so 1900 makes sence.

Yes, once it's gained its second effect, the trigger effect is invalid and cannot be activated again.
