Walking in through the double set of doors before him, A man started looking over the papers in his hands. Each set of papers seemed to be sorted by different colored pins, labels and other assorted items that seemed to be sticking out every which way possible, but the man knew how to hold those papers. After all, he had been over them many a time to make sure the applicants were material for what they needed. Walking forward into the room, there was another man sitting there in a chair with his face buried in a book of some kind in the middle of what looked liked emptiness. Without looking up from the book, the man began to speak to the other. "So, are we ready for the new applicants to join?" Shaking his head, the man with the papers sighed and responded, "Yes they all set and in the coma state until we decide to." "Well, has the entry fees already been set up? Because I see no reason to keep our players in the waiting status any longer. Make sure they dont wake up 50 feet from each other this time. We dont need one more beginning like Farison's Group. Am I clear?"

"Yes, I will be personally visited each one this time to make sure they dont "Group" up," said the man with the papers, "and you should be happy to know that these two," pointing to a couple sets of papers, " will start in Held's Metal Forest, so it would be a something to watch." With saying this, the man with the papers turned around and walk back out the same doors.

Cecil rose to his feet holding one hand on his face trying to restore his balance and clear his mind and one against sheet of metal. "What...," Cecil still dazed turned his head to examine the surroundings, metallic tree-like structures before him in all directions, "Maybe I should rephrase to, where?" He finally managed to get his footing back and began to walk cautiously through the trees. Thoughts raced through his head only mumbling to the scrambling in his head, "Where is this? What am I doing? Who am I? I am Cecil. Cecil?". He stopped and looking up, the shining metal leaves still created the grand filter of sunlight caused by normal ones. I need answers, he continued onwards, his black hair flowing in the gentle breeze, in vain hopes of finding something or someone.

"Poor, poor Cecil. It seems that you are lost." said a man in a black pinstripe suit, who walked out from behind one the trees. " It seems that one piece of business is needed before we establish you as a permenant player. But onto that after an introduction. My name is the Overseer, and I will be the one running this game." he said, taking one hand back and sliding it throughout his slick, black hair. Looking at Cecil, he continued, "Well, onto the main problem. I need to collect your entry fee. Nothing too special really, even if that. All it is that I will be doing is taking is one player out of your "sight". You dont know them and the best part is that they dont know you. To you, that player wont exist, no matter how hard the other player tries. I am, though, a nice person after all. If you want to be able to actually know and see this player, you must obtain something for me, but i wont tell you what it is. All I will do is is collect it when you get it and SHAZAM! Do we have an agreement?"

It was dark, and wet. The raw stench of sewage burned in Danny's nose and eyes as he woke up. The right side of his face was submerged in a filthy, brown-green liquid that he didn't want to think too much about the contents of; his focus right now was to get out of it as fast as possible. He jumped to his feet, vividly wiping what remained of the liquid off his cheek, and looked around. There were no immediate signs of intelligent life; only the muffled squeaking of rats and the rapid tap-tap sound of their feet against the concrete could be heard in the distance. He seemed to be in some sort of tunnel or shaft; the ancient, leaky pipes over him suggested a maintenance tunnel. There was light, somehow, but from exactly where he couldn't tell. It was as if the whole tunnel was... glowing, somehow. Two questions formed in his head, which were immediately voiced.
"Who am I? What is this place?"
A name - Danny Harris - drifted into plain sight from some dark recess of his mind, and it sounded familiar enough. The second question, though, remained unanswered. He sighed. I should get outta here. This place doesn't feel right.
Having no real options, he set out to the tunnel ahead.

Cecil gave the man a stiff look. He was toying with him. Thoughts once again raced; player? Overseer? Entry Fee? Is this a game? I enjoy games. Cecil shifted his position to the side giving himself a dignified stance, "Such an odd "entry fee". But what other choice do I have? Very well, I agree to these terms." Cecil had a eery smile but held in the urge to deck this bastard who thought he could play such a sick game on him. His expression dimmed to an aggregated frown, this man had no class. Cecil didn't like him from the start.

"I am glad that we are in an agreement. Now wipe that smile off your face." said the Overseer with a look that seemed to look into the very soul of its target. He walked in closer to Cecil, hands now in the pockets of his suit jacket. As he walked closer, he tone in his voice seemed to change, almost to something sinister. "If you want to survive, you better figure out sooner than later how to use those abilities of yours." The Overseer began laughing a very soft chuckle as he left behind the same tree he appeared from behind. The tree then began to crumble on itself, leaving nothing but metal shavings and a peice of paper with word: Nobo.

"My my, it seems that we have someone who is lost in the sewers. Not the best place to be but anyway, let me welcome you to Nabooru," said a voice from behind. There, levitating in the tunnel was a man in a pinstripe suit with black hair that is slicked back. Giving Danny Harris a look, he continued, " Just to let you know, the exit is up." There, as if it was commanded, a ladder came down in behind the man. "Lets see," said the man, " you need to give me your entry fee. you have 1 month to hunt down the 63 floor of the mirrored river. There, I will be waiting. Good day." With this, the man disappeared. There on the ladder was a note that was hanging so that Danny could read it from where he was standing. It read: And if you dont succeed, you will die.

Rose slowly picked his head up.
"Ugh...What the—? Where am I?"
He pulled himself to his feet, taking time to absorb his surroundings. He was in what appeared to be a forest clearing, except...The trees were odd.
"Metal? Yes, they appear to be metal..." He touched the closest one, and it felt cold. He noticed that the leaves seemed to be made of sheet metal.
"Interesting..."
Rose sat down, his back leaning against the sturdy "tree". He cupped his hands in front of him, and he spread them. A plane of mercury spread out in front of him, and he observed his reflection. His face had grease and oil smudges on it, and his hair was messier than normal. He once again cupped his hands together, focusing slightly on his task. He could feel the atoms bonding as a sphere of water formed between his hands and expanded. He threw it onto his face and hair, washing the dirt and grime from his visage and resetting his hair in a neutral position. He closed his eyes for a brief moment, and focused on the moisture in his hair and on his face. Just as easily as he had created it, he removed it from existence, or sent it back to wherever it came from. He now looked like his normal self, but he felt a little tired. He didn't have much energy to begin with, and his abilities required a bit of his strength, regardless of what he created.
"Ugh...Maybe I should have slept longer..."
And with that thought, he stared at the dense, dark canopy above him.

"The hell?"
Danny had never gotten around to taking Physics classes - at least he didn't think he did - but if there was one thing he knew about gravity, it was that it was supposed to keep people on the ground. The man had been hovering in mid-air, apparently not caring too much for those laws. He'd been silent, too; Danny hadn't heard a thing, and he usually picked up on someone sneaking up behind him. Baffled, Danny vaguely heard the man's explanation, and wasn't even given a chance to respond before his newest friend disappeared into thin air.
Something's messed up here, that's for sure.
What was happening here? Entry fee? Sixty-three floors of a river? Or was it the sixty-third? He couldn't remember, he hadn't paid attention, he hadn't-
He slammed his fist into the wall on his side, splashing stains of sewage around him.
"Doesn't matter. I need to get the hell outta here."
His shoes - as well as most of his clothes - now soaked, Danny walked over to the rope-ladder and ripped off the piece of paper attached to it. Without a second thought, he threw it away.
"You don't scare me, suitman. Don't scare me at all."
Taking a firm grip on the ladder, he climbed toward the surface.

"It seems that another one has decided to join us. And this one has already figuring out the ability he chose before the start. Well, lets see how he handles his entry fee." said the Overseer, looking straight down through the trees at Rose. "but what do you think? You think I have been giving good enough entry fees?," he said to the branch he was holding. The one metallic leaf that was hanging on the branch just lazily moved with the wind but looked like it was nodding in agreement.

"Yo, boss man, is this fool set?" a voice said from behind the Overseer. The Overseer's eyes began to roll as he found the most simplist forms of words to use. "Indeed you have arrived on time, for once, but do not think that this will make up for the last round of the game. Just wait till I give the ok, ok?" "Sigh, you th' boss man." said the voice. Good, thought the Overseer as he got closer to Rose, Now onto the player. With this thought, he made his body give off a bright Aura as he descended down to meet Rose.

"So it seems that we have someone who dosent belong in this District. Well, we have to be sure to bring him in." said a man in with a Mullet and no clothes but a pair of really short black jean shorts, revealing even a skinner body. "I might even get that promotion after all." he began to walk over to Danny, who was climbing out of one of the sewer entrances. And coming out of a sewer no less, he thought as he walked, The Overseer must have it out for this one. heh

Stepping out of the sewers into the broad daylight, Danny took a deep breath. The air wasn't much better - city air, slightly polluted, and sewage-soaked Danny smelled no better - but somehow, he felt at home. With solid concrete under his feet, he could be at ease... or so he thought.
Someone's coming!
He spun around with to himself surprising agility, and after a single look at the skinny white guy with the mullet and wearing only barely-there shorts, he felt almost as disgusted as before.
"What the hell, man?! Put some clothes on, for crying out loud! Whaddaya think ya are, a fourteen-year old girl?"
Then it struck him that the man could be dangerous. He didn't look armed, but anyone with a fashion sense that questionable had to be a few bolts short of a toolbox.
"Who are ya?"

"Who am I? Why should tell you?," said the man with the mullet, "and you are not being very nice, calling me a fourteen year old girl." The man stopped and pointed to the concrete he was standing on and slowly moved his finger to the nearest building. "Here," he continued, moving his finger to point at all the other buildings that was in the surrounding area, "we show respect to those that have been here longer in the game. Hell, i feel a little hostility coming from you, and we only just met. I say you need to fix that attitude of your's before someone, like me (he now pointed to himself), decides to fix it for you."

"Enough scaring the new guy, " came a voice from behind the man with mullet, " 'cause the last thing we need is a half scared nitwit getting all angry and trying show "us" that we are wrong. Then fails miserable and then we have to scrap his body off the ground." The voice said as the man who owned it came to stand next to the man with mullet. This new man was dressed even more strangely than the first. Purple cloth was wrapped around every part of his body like snake coils except for his mouth and eyes. His eyes, though color of clouded water, seemed to look at more than what was at hand. Together, the two man laughed.

"Well, enough talk I'd say, come with us, we mean you no harm." said the coiled man, "And besides, you are not going to survive a day here without any kind of help. So...what will it be?"

Danny snickered, and nodded at Mullet Man's shorts.
"Maybe you should stop wearing that kinda stuff then, ey? You should just shove that right up your-"
Then, something struck him. Entry fee. Game. There was some sort of connection between them.
"You're with him, ain't ya? You're with the suit!"
He was just about to charge at the half-dressed fashion disaster when the second man emerged from behind him. Danny stopped in his tracks. He was fairly confident that he could take on one of them, but two? Nope, that wasn't gonna happen. Less disturbed and more freaked out by the purple robes of the newcomer, he decided - for once - not to say anything. His eyes were disconcerting, but Danny tried not to look at them. As the purple-robe finished, Danny was silent for a few seconds.
"Not unless you tell me who ya are. And don't give me that 'Why should I tell you' bullcrap, 'cause then I'm outta here faster than you can fire a shot. Don't think I can't survive on the street, big shot."

The coiled man laughed at Danny's response and nudged the Mullet man with his elbow. "It seems that our guest is still being difficult. Sigh." Both men turned their backs to Danny and began whispering to one another. The Mullet Man kept pointing back at Danny and the sky, as in a disagreement with The Coiled man. After about 3 minutes, they turned back around, with The Mullet man's face in a twist, unsure about something. The Coiled man stepped forward and pointed at Danny with a sneer on his face.

"Alright, it seems that you are not being all that agreeable, which is fine with us. But when we tell our boss that we let you go, you see, we (pointing at himself and his companion)wont see the next round of the game. So you see, you will be coming with us to meet the boss. And do not think for a minute you will survive on the street if you somehow escape us. The Game's streets are more than your average streets but you will find out about them sooner or later. So, before we take you in forcefully, I'll give you one more chance to come nicely." The coiled man finished and looked back at the Mullet man. "You think I got everything?" He asked the Mullet man.

"You forgot the part who we are but the boss said not to tell. We are only recruiter pawns." The Mullet Man responded, "I hope you understand, new guy. Besides, if we told you who we are, would that change your decision?"
