Lord Ursus
Obscurum means Darkness in latin, but believe me, this set is far from the noobish kind of set that is dedicated to the ultimate darkness. Darkness is ever-shifting, and lives in humans in form of emotion and lack of light. It condenses eventually, and is a forceful advercary for many. This set is uniquely enough a Level 10 set with monsters that all have 0 ATK and DEF, ridiculous effects, amusing ways of Summoning and departure, and is my choice for an Excess set. I am just experiencing with this idea, and have as such not yet put them into pictures. Yes, I know that there are not any Level 10 Excess monsters in the present card game, but I'll make my own and take into account that none of these cards will ever be printed in reality whatsoever. That's the intro, this is the set: Obscurum - Rashkhan the Aspect of Revenge ********** DARK Fiend / Effect ATK 0 / DEF 0 You can Tribute any number of monsters to Normal Summon this card. If this card battles, during the End Phase, destroy all monsters your opponent controls. If this card is used for the Summoning of a monster, that monster gains this card's effects. Obscurum - Hemay the Aspect of Illusion ********** DARK Fiend / Effect ATK 0 / DEF 0 You can Tribute any number of monsters to Normal Summon this card. If this card attacks, destroy 1 face-up monster on the field and Special Summon 1 other "Obscurum" monster from your Graveyard. If this card is used for the Summoning of a monster, that monster gains this card's effects. Obscurum - Dralchi the Aspect of Hate ********** DARK Fiend / Effect ATK 0 / DEF 0 You can Tribute any number of monsters to Normal Summon this card. If this card battles, inflict damage equal to double the ATK of the monster it battles to your opponent and draw 1 card. If this card is used for the Summoning of a monster, that monster gains this card's effects. Obscurum - Karta the Aspect of Sorrow ********** DARK Fiend / Effect ATK 0 / DEF 0 You can Tribute any number of monsters to Normal Summon this card. If this card battles, after Damage Calculation, gain Life Points equal to double the ATK of the monster it battles and place that monster on the bottom of its owner's Deck. If this card is used for the Summoning of a monster, that monster gains this card's effects. Obscurum - Pius the Aspect of Pain ********** DARK Fiend / Effect ATK 0 / DEF 0 You can Tribute any number of monsters to Normal Summon this card. If this card is attacked, after Damage Calculation, select 2 monsters on the field and inflict damage to your opponent equal to their total ATK. If this card is used for the Summoning of a monster, that monster gains this card's effects. Obscurum - Decus the Apect of Nihilism ********** DARK Fiend / Effect ATK 0 / DEF 0 You can Tribute any number of monsters to Normal Summon this card. If this card attacks, place all Spell and Trap Cards your opponent controls on the bottom of their owner's Deck in any order. Spell or Trap Cards cannot be activated in response to this effect's activation. If this card is used for the Summoning of a monster, that monster gains this card's effects. Obscurum Veil Spell Card Continuous You take no Battle Damage from battles involving "Obscurum" monsters. If an "Obscurum" monster you control would be destroyed, you can discard 1 card instead. Destroy this card if you take 2000 damage or more. Obscurum Shift Spell Card Quick-Play Tribute any number of "Obscurum" monsters to Special Summon 1 DARK monster from your Deck. Rise of Obscurum Spell Card Activate only while you control no monsters. During the turn you activate this card, you cannot attack or activate any other cards. Special Summon 1 "Obscurum" monster from your Deck and Hand. Obscurum Momentum Trap Card Activate only while you control no monsters. Special Summon 2 "Obscurum" monsters from your Graveyard. If your Life Points are less than 4000, your Life Points become 4000. Link to comment
Lexadin
Honestly I like the idea of them passing on theier effects to the monster that uses it. However they are horribly OP, as they are way too easy too summon (only 1 tribute for a possible nuker) and thier effect that can pass on thier effects are way too abuseable, for example if someone would Tribute "Dralchi" and a "Karta" (Which both can easily be Special Summoned by Mystic Tomato) for a "Neo-Parshath, the Sky Paladin" and that player has a "The Sanctuary in the Sky" on the field, then it can easily gain over 7000 ATK, burn, pierce, heal and draw 2 cards at the same time! And that's just 1 out of many examples. I think it needs more restrictions to make them less abusable. Link to comment

With the ready generation of tribute fodder and multiple summon cards, it'll turn the final summon; a "Monarch" into a broken beatstick. Both "Caius" and "Delg" blast the field when they're summoned, and with the additional effects they can pick up with the "Obscurum" monsters; they'll be 2400 ATK abominations. Dark Dimension Monarchs would be even more problematic. Tribute a pair of "Obscurums" to summon a pair of "Monarchs" while "Dimensional Fissure" in on the field. Next turn, activate "Escape from the Dark Dimension" for more fodder. Preferably for a "Mobius" that clears your opponent's back row while giving it the effect that clears your opponent's monsters when it battles... These are so abusable with Tribute Decks; and the DARK Counterparts. They need to be restricted. And like I said, they are rather similar to the "Temporal Machine Gods" of 5Ds. Link to comment
Lord Ursus
I am highly intrigued by the "Temporal Machine Gods", yes. And they can be Summoned with 0 Tributes as well, because I wanted to make a set that relies on solely Level 10 monsters as the bulk of basic monster cards. I'll try to figure out a restriction.
