bury the year
IC THREAD For as long as time has known it, there have been two universes with two worlds. One of these worlds is our own, mundane as it is. The other is filled with creatures known as “Pokémon,” who battle alongside humans with a vast array of powerful and mysterious skills. These worlds have never known another, separated by the veil between universes. Until now, that is. In the world of Pokémon, Jirachi, the legendary that watches the stars, awoke from its millennial nap to a bad omen etched in the night sky – seven stars that flickered in concert. Perturbed by this sign, it called to Mew, another legendary and the ancestor of the entire Pokémon race. Being informed of this sign, Mew and Jirachi gathered the other legendaries in council and developed a plan. Covering the Pokémon world in a burst of light, they gathered the entire template of every last Pokémon species in this flash of light and sent it to slip into the veil between dimensions. Meanwhile, in the mundane world, in a city named New York, a bright flash covered the land. Although few humans thought much of it, the animals in the city reacted differently. Some of them began to merge with a Pokémon template, a process dubbed “prototyping.” Only protected from chaos with humans by their new glamours, many of the new “prototypes” became panicked, and power struggles erupted. However, the legendaries will appear in the mundane world soon enough, to warn the prototypes of the emerging threat. For when the seven stars that appeared in the sky with the flash of light dim and vanish, the fate of both universes will be left to chance... [spoiler=Rules]I’m expecting quality in this RP. If you are accepted, you had best keep up the level of roleplaying skill that was demonstrated in your application, or I can and will kick you out. Naturally, this includes following the site and forum rules. If I deny you from being accepted to this RP, don’t complain. You may revise it if I give the option. Please keep a regular posting habit. I understand that many people (chiefly me) can’t post every day, but once every three days would be appreciated. We will have a posting order in the eventual IC thread. This means that you can only post after the person ahead of you in the order. If it has been three days without them posting, only then may you skip them and post out of order. No legendaries or shinies. Simple. The process is normally incredibly painful and lasts around half a day in length. The Pokémon an animal prototypes has absolutely no bearing on its actual species – there are no known restrictions on what mixes with what. Glamour – All “Pokémon” gain a subconscious disguise of sorts that makes them appear like their normal, pre-prototype forms to all humans. This disguise can’t be “turned off,” and is probably to prevent shock and panic among the sentient beings of this world. However, remember that this does not carry to any non-synthesized animals, and their reactions may vary from curiosity to hostility.[spoiler=Notes]A prototyped animal doesn’t know anything about Pokémon. From their perspective, they just mutated out of the blue and got a bunch of random powers. The only ones that do will be the legendary NPCs, but they’re... a special case, to be succinct. (This is also the reason why legendaries aren’t available for normal play.) Also, I will have my application up soon to dispel any possible confusion.[spoiler=Accepted Applications][spoiler="Airspace – Vaughn (Dragonair)]Name: Vaughn. Estimated Age: Three years old. Original Species: Miniature Australian shepherd dog. Pokémon Species: Dragonair. Appearance: After prototyping, Vaughn’s blue merle coat has evened out into a single shade of deep aqua blue, with his belly-fur colored white. Multiple round scales are interspersed with the fur in regular tight-knit rows, allowing flexibility with coverage. However, his fur still peeks out in large, jagged clumps. His ears have curved into the shape of a Dragonair’s wings and have turned white, with the requisite feathering at the tips. A single small horn is set on Vaughn’s forehead, and his originally-bushy tail now tapers to a point with two sapphire spheres set in it. A similar orb is set in his chest. Personality: The most noticeable part of Vaughn’s personality is his almost unconscious arrogance. He carries himself highly and with a good amount of self-esteem, which can be somewhat offputting to people he first meets, due to him potentially rubbing them the wrong way. However, Vaughn always means well in the end: he’s just rather bad at putting other people before himself sometimes. He also tends to be rather stubborn, being unwilling to change his ideas unless someone drills into his head that it sucks. If it comes to this, Vaughn also tends to get uncharacteristically aggressive and defensive, due to the threat towards his pride. In the end, though, he’s a domestic dog at heart, and is always looking forward to the day where he can be reunited with his owners. Therefore, Vaughn is cautious about teaming up with other “prototypes,” because he is unsure about how their dynamics will play out. He doesn’t understand why the entire situation happened, but if it can help him get back, so much the better. (On a completely unrelated note, when Vaughn gets hungry, he gets hungry.) History: For the early majority of his life, Vaughn lived the life of a typical domestic dog. He was bought from a breeder by a young couple who had recently emigrated from New Zealand, and kept their culture very much a part of them. Therefore, Vaughn became a myth hound, especially because the girl was an avid reader and loved to tell stories to him. It was a very peaceful, albeit normal life. However, when the guy got a phone call saying his mother was on her deathbed back in his home country, the pair packed up and left Vaughn with a neighbor, promising that they’d be back in a couple of weeks at most. It was during the time with the neighbor, who wasn’t much of a dog person in the first place and didn’t care about Vaughn either way, that the prototyping occurred. Curled up in a tight ball on his bed and whimpering in pain, the dog was surprised that his temporary owner didn’t notice the pain that he was going through. When the aches finally subsided and Vaughn discovered his new... “benefits,” he decided to escape and go somewhere where he could wait for the two weeks until his owners returned. Clawing a hole in a screen window, he quietly slipped out into the night and headed towards nearby Central Park, a place he had been to walk at many times. Maybe he could wait there... Adaptations: Due to a Dragonair’s natural ability to predict the weather, Vaughn can track weather patterns and accurately predict them for up to ten days in the future. He cannot control them, though. The orb on his neck can also light up on command, an action which takes very little energy to perform. Ability: Marvel Scale – Whenever Vaughn is inflicted with an illness or otherwise-negative condition, his scales will thicken to approximately twice their original toughness and will grow to cover some of his exposed patches of skin. This makes him that much more resistant to damage. However, whenever he recovers or “feels better,” the scales will return to their normal state. Moves: Dragon Claw – Vaughn’s foreclaws extend slightly and harden, changing from their normal black color to a deep navy. In this state, the claws can cut through steel with nearly no resistance, but this can stress them to the point of breaking if used too much consecutively. Extremespeed – By condensing his internal “energy,” Vaughn can, for a few seconds, accelerate to the point where he is merely a blur. This is mainly used to deliver a ramming attack to any possible aggressor. However, he can’t turn while using this, and can only move in a straight line. Dragon Dance – Tensing all of his muscles up, Vaughn releases them in a single uncoiling motion, almost like a spiral. He then gives a loud roar-like bark, which serves to energize his spirit and increase his confidence.[spoiler= Clutch – Dantes (Nidorino)]Name: Dantes Estimated Age: Nearly 2 years. Original Species: Ferret Pokémon Species: Nidorino Appearance: Dantes Prototype has caused a great deal of small changes. The first being his fur. The soft plush coat of white has changed in color to a remarkable purple shade, covering all of his body, except for some small patches on his back and sides that have an even darker color, much more distinct than the rest. The actual color is never constant, as the shine of Dantes fur always gives off a different tone, but the ideal purple is always visible somewhere. Along with an extravagant change in fur coloration, Dantes texture has also been morphed. The fur along his body is roughly half the length it was, giving him an almost prickly feel when touched. Dantes fur has also hardened to be almost difficult to manipulate. The hardness replicates that of a human who has put obscene amounts of gel in their hair. A minuscule differentiation in the size of his ears has occurred. The color within his ears has also changed to a very subtle green shade, almost unnoticeable. Besides basic differences, Dantes now hosts a horn. Directly in the center of Dantes forehead lies a small horn. Granted, it isn't extremely sharp, it's still out of place. The horn, which is no longer than half of his head, is very smooth and almost without fur. His tail has decreased in size, making it barely visible. Dantes small feet have grown a good amount. The length is about the same, but the width of Dantes legs, and the overall size of his paws has changed drastically. His paws have a tremendous level of roughness, almost that of a reptile. Dantes paws also accommodate a nice set of three claws per foot. Instead of being lengthy and sharp, they are wider and rough. With no real tip, the claws are left with multiple jags and sharp ridges to work with. Dantes final change is the addition of small spikes in his back. They lie under the skin and fur, but are definitely visible. They feel like the spine of an animal who is too skinny, but rise much more. Small humps reside around the spikes, giving his back a mountainous look. Personality: Dantes always had a low level of resentment. While not often angry, he still always had problems with certain things and would make sure he got his way. Dantes has never been a very friendly ferret. His owner didn't mind, in fact he ignored him. This only increased Dantes level of resentment. Dantes was a very calm ferret, never going in to bite his owner or do anything to put them in harm, he just kept to himself. Almost bottling up emotions of dissatisfaction and hatred, Dantes was tired of the attitude he had begun to have. The Prototyping didn't help his case. Dantes mind was always filled with odd images of places unseen, and things unknown. His ideas would always go blank. He felt as though he had no freedom within himself, like something was taken over. Always struggling to fight the dark thoughts now placed in his mind, Dantes would always go back to the natural thoughts he already had. Resent. Revenge. Hatred. None of it seemed to help. Being a naturally unloving animal, Dantes gave in to the prototype. Anymore, Dantes mind is often free to think, unlike it was when he fought back. Dantes decided that it would be best to rid himself of emotion, to spare anything else left of him that could be altered. Dantes no longer cares. He strives to gain himself back, careless of others and their problems. He goes it his own way, no longer ridiculed with morbid thoughts or emotion. History: As stated a lot in the personality, Dantes has always had resentment. He was never cherished by his owner, and never understood why he was purchased in the first place. Dantes always thought everything in his small, ferret life was wrong. His owner never caressed his fur, held him, or even payed attention to him beyond the regular feeding schedule. After a long period of time in which Dantes truly hated his owner, he went to college (The owner of course, that sentence just sounded misleading to me). Leaving Dantes to a life of freedom, he actual began to enjoy himself, that is until he realized what would happen. The dormitories his owner was leaving to had a no pet policy, making Dantes a no-no. Long story short, Dantes was donated to a special science program, which accepted him with welcome arms. Within the minutes it took for a small exchange of papers and a final goodbye, Dantes was theirs. Stuffed into a glass enclosure, Dantes felt like he was a kit again, crying for someone from inside the pet store. This didn't feel good. Being an animal with keen instincts, Dantes suspected that he would be treated the same way here. Unloved and unwanted. Suddenly, Dantes eyes grew heavy, and he went to sleep. His mind raced with fearsome thoughts, thoughts owned by another being. The darkness remained as he opened his eyes. Astonished by his purple coat of fur, Dantes flew from his recent place, and into the next pod over. His mind blanked while he looked at the broken plexi-glass wall, and even more when he saw his reflection. Embracing his new features, Dantes made a beeline for the exit, bursting through pod after pod. Adaptations: Dantes made adaptations to his new body. Rough and rugged, but still furry, he found lots of new uses for his fur alone. His small, undefined claws became his best friend. He could cut through wood with ease, and was making progress with stone. Small enhancements in speed only aided his new horn, as he used it well for ramming and other such rushing abilities. Dantes gained the ability to manipulate poison, as it oozed from the horn in his head when in contact. He channeled his problems and hatred into rage, and attacked whatever was in his way. To ruin all of his new found features, Dantes also had new problems. He also lost a small amount of his ability to hear, and his sense of touch was much less sensitive due to his rugged new paws. His senses were blinded by his rage, making him an easy target. He also found the poison inside his horn to be a bit affecting to himself. If he released to much, he almost felt sick and nauseous. Ability: Poison Point - When Dantes is physically attacked, the attacker runs a high risk of becoming poisoned. Moves: Horn Attack – Dantes utilizes the short horn atop his head, and lunges toward the opposer with great force. Focus Energy - Dantes takes his mind of off his rage, and begins to focus better, leaving him less vulnerable and more accurate. Poison Sting – Dantes horn coats itself in an underlying poison, making it a lethal weapon to those who come in contact with it.[spoiler=Fenrir – Orion (Metang)]Name: Orion Estimated Age: 4 years old Original Species: A short coat purebred weimaraner (previously had an owner) Pokémon Species: Metang Appearance: As a weimaraner with a charcoal-blue coat, his coloration has not changed much, if anything it is a bit darker than it normally would be. The most startling aspect are the two four five long charcoal-blue metallic arms that sprout from his ribs. They are thin but long, and are tipped with three powerful steel claws. He often folds them on his back, or when a human attempts to pet him he'll hide them under his belly. His claws have become much more structured and have a similar density to steel. His coat is heavier than it once was and spots of metal can be seen on his skin. Hinting that he's quite well protected form physical attacks. Orion's retinas are a blood red while his irises are an ebony black. Personality: Orion grew up having an owner, and such is used to certain pleasantries when it comes to humans and other animals. While he finds it difficult to adapt to new situations rapidly, he tries his best to carry his weight. He is calm and understanding, calculating to a degree even. Although he is understanding he also looks upon other, more unfortunate dogs with distaste due to his upbringing and handling. He thinks since his breed was a royal breed, he should BE a royal dog, and any other dogs that do not care for their breed's history should be taught respect. In short; he's got an ego. With his prototyping came immense mental power which has on occasions, scared him. He finds his prototyping a terrible thing, and thinks he has brought shame to his breed for becoming a mutant. On the flip side it could be considered he had ascended his breed to become stronger than the rest. Coupled with the fact he's bipolar often results in 'moments'. Much to the dismay of others. He considers himself a leader to others, and when someone of a lower 'rank' than him is in a position of leadership, he'll become disconcerted and most likely will question or even assault the creature. History: As stated before, he had an owner. Orion was adopted by an old professor of an Institute that studied the heavens. He would often read out stories of great mythological figures in his study, and Orion learned quite a bit from his ramblings. The old man was alone and considered Orion his only true companion, he would often go on about how he was such a majestic dog fit for a king, one that could hunt dragons and bears and sea serpents oh my. He would also go on about great figures in history. This of course all went to his head, and he would often spend days imagining himself amongst great figures such as Napoleon or Alexander the great. Eventually though, the old man passed away. His apartment was sold and Orion was put in a kennel. The day he was prototyped was the 12th of June, a week after his master had died. He had been put in an enclosure with a pit-bull and a German Shepard, both were not very pleased with their new roommate. During the night after licking away the wounds given to him by his... Acquaintances. He felt a sharp pain in his back that eventually cascaded down to his stomach. He attempted to sleep through the pain, and was somehow successful. He awoke feeling normal, but the other dogs were terrified of him. It was then that he realized his new adaptations; which he promptly used to escape from the kennel. Being able to climb over fencing and on walls helped, combine that with his psychic ability to move small objects, doors soon succumbed to his will. Adaptations: Besides the obviously large arms sprouting from his ribs, he has gained a mental prowess that exceeds that of a humans. He can lift small objects with his mind and can confuse animals that are weak mentally. That being said he cannot control his powers that well, and often finds himself listening to escaped thoughts of others. This can give him migraines or headaches, and just put him in a bad mood in general. His bones have changed into a light weight metal, as have his claws. Patches of metal have replaced his skin in certain areas, and a few small steel gray spikes protrude from his back and his head. He often uses these adaptations to headbutt foes, flinching or stunning them for a moment so he can escape. He however is extremely sensitive to heat, as it can cause extreme amounts of pain in a short moment, heating his body up. Ability: Light Metal – His bones are now a light weight metal that is quite durable. This allows him to carry his body around by using his new arms to walk on the ground. Moves: Magnet Rise – Using certain magnetic cells in his body, he can lift himself into the air for a period of 5 minutes. The height depends on how calm he is at the moment. Take Down – Orion lunges forward to slam into his opponent with his full body. Considering the rigidness of his body structure, his recoil is minimal. When it does happen he can get knocked over. Confusion – Orion prods his target's mind and sends confusing or distracting thoughts that seed in their mind. Depending on how strong the target's psyche is, it might take a few seconds for the thoughts to work, or even a day. Can also be called INCEPTION and often comes with a 'BAAAAAAAAWM' sound effect.[spoiler=Shradow – Ragaror (Tropius)]Name: Ragaror Estimated Age: 101 Original Species: Box Turtle Pokémon Species: Tropius Appearance: Ragaror's body grew a bit from his prototyping, his limbs growing in length, and his neck extending more than anything. His shell became leaves which are plastered around his body like a cloak. His coloring changed from brown and yellow to be almost entirely brown save for the green leaves that surround him. Additionally, large, broad leaves sprouted for his leafy shell which act as areas of photosynthesis, as well as allowing him to fly. Personality: After so many years, Ragaror has become accustomed to a simple, relaxing life, and that has affected his personality. He is often calm and relaxed, usually straying from this only when his mind is muddled from lack of moisture, where he becomes quite irritable and mischievous. Perhaps because of his life as a turtle, he is very sheltered and tends not to speak very much, however if thrown into a conversation he sometimes rambles. Also perhaps because of his life as a turtle, he is very protective of those close to him. Despite his intellect, he is slow to understand things such as jokes or sarcasm. While he usually doesn't act so, some are put off by him because of the thought that he's a know-it-all. He is also slow, exceptionally moreso than the matter of jokes and sarcasm, to accept defeat, and rarely gives up unless the situation is dire.Becoming part plant has probably affected Ragaror's eating habits the most. He now refuses to eat greens, and while photosynthesis and water supply the most nutrients for him, he still eats things such as his favorite fruit and the occasional human food, especially desserts, as he has quite a sweet tooth. When it comes to fruit, he now only eats one type, the kind of which has now started to grow under his chin, and he loves to eat it, should he have the option of reaching it in its inconvenient place. He has a taste for any sort of meat, finding a plant eating meat quite ironic, though he never eats anything raw, as he finds it barbaric and slightly disgusting. He tends to avoid eating certain things when in the company of certain animals.Ragaror is a pacifist, and always tries to use words to avoid unnecessary fighting. If forced into a fight, however, he uses his intellect to plan out most of his movements, usually ignoring his animal instincts. He forms strategies about anything and everything, and is aggravated by those who leap before they think, dubbing them "Leeroy Jenkins", a name he once heard from his master. History: As a simple box turtle, Ragaror lived in a science facility as a pet to a marine biologist. He lived a happy life, despite being kept from the wild. His master took excellent care of him, and he rarely knew sadness. He lived past the average life span of a box turtle and eventually his master grew old and weary. After his master's death Ragaror was passed to another of his master's colleagues and friends. He was busier than his first master, and while he was kept healthy, Ragaror was left alone most of the time. As he grew ever older he neared the end of his life, it was forever changed by a seemingly simple flash of light. On the day of his 101st birthday, an incredibly old age, even for a box turtle, Ragaror awoke to find himself changed. He had become part plant, and his body was rejuvenated, as he felt young and spry again. His mind instantly cleared, his subconcious releasing into his conciousness everything his old master had talked about: he remembered the days that his master would simply sit and talk to him about the world and everything in it, and Ragaror became intelligent. He sat around in the lab, going about his normal, boring life. After one day in his new form, he had had enough, and he escaped from the lab into New York. Adaptations: Ragaror's main adapation is becoming part plant. He can now utilize photosynthesis to reach most of his body's needs for nourishment. He is not as slow and has more freedom of movement than his original form, becoming quite agile. His mind has advanced to that of a highly intellectual human, understanding human speech and even being able to speak it slightly, as his master spoke to him in many languages. Ability: Chlorophyll – When in bright sunlight the broad leaves on his back and the ones forming his leafy shell absorb extra sunlight to allow for extra fast movement and precision. Moves:Synthesis – Utilizing the large leaves on his back, Ragaror can harness an excess amount of photosynthesis to restore his body. However, it takes concentration to manipulate the chloroplasts in his leaves to work so much harder. There must also be an adequate supply of sunlight and moisture. Razor Leaf – Ragaror's leaves can regenerate at an astounding rate should they be removed for any reason, and he can use this to fire several of his razor sharp leaves at a foe in quick succession. Doing so, unfortunately, saps nutrients from his body. While a single leaf saps very little, should enough leaves be used, Ragaror would be left fatigued and vulnerable. Fly – The large leaves that have sprouted from Ragaror's back give him the ability to fly, which he can use for travel or to charge at an opponent from above. He is surprisingly maneuverable and graceful in the air, though his bulk makes flying for long periods of time tiring.[spoiler="TheFinalFan – Iris (Ninjask)]Name: Iris (kept her pet name) Estimated Age: 4 years Original Species: Burmese Cat Pokémon Species: Ninjask Appearance: Normally, Iris has a golden helmet-like growth on her head, leaving room for her ears and eyes, that also has a pair of mandible-like protrusions. She also has a set of insectoid arms attached to her shoulders that are about as long as her forelegs. She can use the claws on the ends to add some extra scratching power to her attacks. However, whenever her heart rate reaches a certain level, usually when she is scared or going fast, a special biomechanical trigger activates. Subdermal exoskeletal plates underneath her skin pop out (painlessly) and cover her body within miliseconds, encasing her within. Her "speed form" still has a feline shape, but is covered in smooth black chitinous plates with grey plates underneath, making her body streamlined and much more aerodynamic without all of her fluffy fur. Her insectoid arms fold back against her body, and strange vestigial red and white wing-like blades erupt along her spine between her shoulder blades and her pelvis. These blades can be used for attacking her enemies, but they also act like the spoiler on a car, giving her an added boost. Her "helmet" also pops out black and grey plates that encase her head and cover her eyes in red goggle-like lenses. Special vents in the "mask" allow her to breathe without getting bugs or anything else inside. Her tail also gains a set of smaller wing-like blades at the end, and since the fur is underneath the plates, her tail can act like a mace in combat. This "speed form" can retract back into her body a few seconds after her heart rate has gone back down. Personality: Iris is, obviously, a cat. She is very fickle and can change her mind on a whim. Plus, any promises she makes probably cannot be held up. She acts tough, but she is actually rather depressed ever since she ran away. Her entire life has been shattered due to her transformation, and her only desire is to find her way home to her loving family. If she can be comforted about her situation, she might be more willing to help out.Iris sees her abilities as a curse, since they are what caused her to accidentally run away from her home. She is scared of dogs, especially Prototyped ones, but she is even more scared of water, since her denser body has lost a lot of its natural buoyancy. Paradoxically, she absolutely loves fish, and occasionally raids fisheries for their delicious raw catches. She is a tad bit vain, especially since one of her habits/hobbies is grooming herself, especially after a transformation, when her fur gets all disheveled from the plates covering her fur. However, she loves a good petting, which will earn the petter brownie points in her eyes. History: Iris has spent a relatively sheltered life as a housecat, and she has enjoyed her lazy days of lounging around, getting some sun, being petted and fed yummy tuna from a can. Her family loved her, and she loved her family, and everything was perfectly fine...until she was Prototyped. The sensations caused her to try to run away in fear, and then her heart rate hit the requirement needed for the "speed form" to activate, sending her catapulting through the door into the streets. She kept running and running, until she could run no more, and she found herself lost. She has no idea where she is in the big city, and she mainly wants to get back to her family. She only remembers vaguely where their house is, since she has never been outside in a while, and is apprehensive about acquiring allies due to a mishap involving a pack of wild Prototyped dogs that tried to eat her.Since then, Iris has been looking around for her home. She primarily sticks around the wharfs, stealing fish from the few fisheries left in the city. Her glamour, which projects her as a normal cat, is rather useful in this task, and she is aware that humans still see her normally. She will resist any effort to be recaptured, especially after her collar was destroyed in her first transformation into "speed form". She still sees herself as a pet, and hopes that, once she gets home, everything will go back to normal. Adaptations: Iris, in her "speed form", can attain speeds of up to 100 miles an hour, allowing her to outrace her sub-Saharan cousins. Her adrenaline-producing glands also go into overdrive when she transforms, helping to slow the world down around her so she can concentrate. Her bones have been heavily reinforced, and her excess fat has been replaced with muscles. Her lungs can handle the decrease in oxygen in her "speed form", and her heart is much more powerful. However, her metabolism is exponentially higher, needing to eat an entire meal every time after she goes into her "speed form". However, her armor, while offering some physical protection, provides no relief from intense heat, cold or an electrical shock, and it may look solid, but it is actually riddled with weak points, mainly around the joints, and it can be pierced or cracked using a very solid weapon, like a sledgehammer or a drill. Ability: Speed Boost - Iris' "speed form" is the physical representation of her ability, giving her a much speedier form. She can only use two moves with each form, one movee being exclusive to her normal form, and one move too fast for her usual form. Moves: Slash (Normal/Speed) - Iris can swipe at her opponents with either her regular claws or her insectoid forearms. In her "speed form", she uses her wing-blades to execute this maneuver. Fury Cutter (Normal) - Iris slashes at her opponent, getting more and more accurate and more and more deadly with each attack. U-Turn (Speed) - A sudden 180-degree turn while slicing her foes as she does so. It is tricky for her to pull off, especially if she is going too fast, so she will only use this move if she has to. Premier Alexander Romanov
[spoiler=TheFinalFan - Queen (Vespiquen)]Name: Queen Estimated Age: A few months Original Species: Honey Bee (Queen) Pokémon Species: Vespiquen Appearance: Queen is now about a couple of feet tall, with the upper half of her body consisting of her more humanoid-looking insectoid torso, head, wings, and arms, and the lower half made up of her hive, where her hordes of slightly altered drones reside. Her wings are huge, with a wingspan of a couple of feet, and she has the normal arms of a Vespiquen, but with two smaller pairs of arms. Her "helmet" is similar to her Pokemon counterpart's, but now with antennae in between the cylinders. Her face is more insect-like, though her eyes glow crimson, along with the gem on her "helmet", which enhances and amplifies the philotic connections she has with her hive. Inside of her hive is all of her vital organs, including her egg maker and her heart. All of her bees are still the same, though they all have glowing crimson eyes and a crimson marking on their forehead. Her glamour makes her appear to be a thick swarm of bees, buzzing in the air in a spherical pattern. Personality: Queen is rather passive, trying to understand her newfound sentience, especially since she is much larger, as well as merged with her hive. She is also still getting used to the fact that she is not just a creature, but the embodiment of her entire hive that has been personified. She doesn't have that much of a personality, and is rather cold and emotionless towards others. However, she does have a strong sense of curiosity now that she is self-aware, and much more aware of the world around her. She is also analytical, strategizing her next move like a chess player, and trying to determine if another being is hostile towards her, or can be a potential ally. She dislikes the painful sensations she feels of her bees being destroyed, so she is also a tad bit cautious towards possible threats. She is sending out small organized patrols of her drones to try and find other Prototypes, hopefully so she can find something else to talk to. She is also curious about the human world, but since she looks like an angry swarm of bees to them, they run away from her, making her ability to communicate with them virtually nonexistant. Mainly, she is just lonely, but since she has no concept of loneliness, she doesn't understand what this strange feeling she is feeling is. History: Queen was a normal honeybee queen before she was altered, living in bliss as she commanded her very productive hive. She had a relatively large piece of territory won by conquering two other hives, and plenty of flowers for her drones to visit. Then, in the night, her slumbering hive was Prototyped. When she awoke, she found herself cold and hanging upside-down. She fell to the ground, and her drones swarmed out of holes on her bottom half to heal her. She had grown out of her hive upside-down, and the thin resin keeping her up fortunately snapped when it did. She eventually learned how to fly and hover again, and started testing out her new body. She found that she could much more accurately command her hive by using her philotic connections instead of having them dance. Finally, she decided to call herself "Queen", since that was what she was. Maybe, when she knew more, she could have a better name, but Queen would do. Adaptations: Queen is not just a sentient queen, but a sentient hive. A small portion of her resides in each of her bees, like nerve endings. She can command the bees like they are her limbs using these philotic connections. She can also communicate with Psychic Prototyped animals. However, she is much more vulnerable to fire, and if just one bee gets hurt, they all hurt. She may have a harder shell and claws, but she is still a giant target. Queen can fly, but not very quickly, able to barely outrun a human and not able to fly up very high. However, she is very good at hovering a few feet above the ground, acting like a flying carrier for her bees. The inside of her hive, where her heart is located, and the philotic amplification gem on her "helmet" are her two main weak spots. She can also "assimilate" other bees, adding them to her hive by having her bees make physical contact with other bees. Any information the assimilated bees know will be transferred to Queen. When she destroys a hive, she will absorb all of the knowledge of the queen before killing the queen and assimilating all of her bees into her hordes. Therefore, if she is low on bees, parking herself near another hive and inducting the bees into her own swarm is a good method of replenishing her forces. Ability: Pressure - One benefit of Queen's philotic powers is the passive ability to exude an unnerving tension that causes her opponents to wear out more quickly. The fact that they are going up against a sentient hive of bees doesn't help either. This psychological effect gives Queen an edge in combat. Moves: Attack Order - Queen commands her bees to swarm at her foes, biting, stinging, and buzzing in a massive horde that can encompass one foe or multiple enemies. However, the more targets, the less bees that can attack each target. Queen can also try to attack their weak points, if she can find them. Defend Order - Queen calls her bees back to her, using them as living shields. Some of them act as semisolid barriers while others form a living armor around their queen and their hive. Queen knows it will hurt, but she is ready for the pain if it means she and her hive can continue. Heal Order - Queen directs her bees inside their hive and outside of herself, where they repair any damage made to the hive and tend to their queen's wounds. Queen usually falls back a bit to execute this maneuver. While this occurs, Queen tries to stimulate her children to grow faster, causing the growth cycle to be shortened down to munites, only for the bees produced to only live a few hours. This can help repopulate her forces in a jam, though she should try to have some normal bees mixed in with the weaker accelerated bees.
Azphreal
[spoiler=Phoenix19 - Tyranor (Tyranitar)]Name:Tyranor Estimated Age: 15 Original Species: Wedge-Tailed Eagle Pokémon Species: Tyranitar Appearance: Even though he used to be an eagle, Tyranor hasn’t kept much of his original colouring. His brown feathers are now a pale shade of green, and his cream feathers even paler. His exposed skin is a dark brown, and his facial area is a light blue, similar to his feathery shade. His claws are now stark-white, and he is the first recorded bird to ever have ‘natural’ teeth, much to the amazement of scientists across the country. In addition, he no longer simply has tail-feathers; from twenty-or-so centimetres behind his legs, Tyranor has a slender, featherless tail that aids in flight control and manoeuvring. His beak is also enlarged and shortened slightly, to look more like a mouth, and his eyes are more front-ward facing. His senses are rather changed by his Protyping; his keen, infrared eyesight is reduced to that similar to an owl’s; next to useless during the day, but heightened during the night. This is helpful, as it reduces conflict with other birds in the hunt for the day’s meal. However, his taste and smell are as strong as his eyesight used to be. Personality: Even though being Prototyped with a Tyranitar, reputed for being one of the worst-tempered Pokémon, his general attitude has not changed overall. That’s not to say it wasn’t bad to being with; it just hasn’t gotten worse. Tyranor earned his name by literally being a tyrant over the local birds, all species save none. Yes, this earned him a few fights with other members of the avian world, even a couple of fights with other wedge-tails, but he was never daunted by how aggressively others reacted to him. Put simply, in plain, short words, Tyranor is a lying, cheating, self-centered, brawn-over-brains kinda bird. History: Born in an average nest with average parents, to the average number of siblings of zero, Tyranor was raised as a nameless chick until his flight feathers fledged (lotta ‘f’s…). After that, he spent another five months in the nest, learning to fly and hunt. However, Tyranor was tired of an average life. He lived on the edge, literally, when he was out of sight of his parents. He would often show off to other birds, diving off a nearby cliff often and performing aerobatic skills. This, mostly, is what caused his self-centeredness and cocky attitude. His abusive nature came later. His parents were one day hit by a moving object while scavenging made by other beings, not birds, bats or even rodents, and died later the same day. Then on, others teased him for having the ‘feather-brained parents’, since everyone knew to stay away from the large, straight, hard black. The nameless chick quickly became a bully, forcing others to bring him food in return for him not ripping out a few tail feathers. Soon after he started this practice, he was given the name Tyranor, as his parents died too soon to give him a proper name. The morning Tyranor was Prototyped, he had just received a small tribute of a field mouse from an regular ‘client’, an underfed juvenile kite. He was still digesting when pain wracked every feather, every light-weight hollow bone, and he passed out. Hours later, when the sun was at its highest, Tyranor opened bleary eyes to blindingly white light. Quickly retreating into his cave that he used in place of a nest, he found that he could see a lot better than he previously could. Also, to his immediate surprise, he found he could actually smell the small bones from the mouse he had eaten before – horrible, decaying flesh. He pushed the remains out of the cave with his talons, which he noticed had gone as white as a full moon. Tyranor is still exploring the extents of his abilities, but all he knows so far is that he cannot see properly in the light, and that his talons are gleaming white. Adaptations: Fear of what he has become has made him impulsively not look over himself, so he has not been able to find what he is, let alone adapt to his changes. He has, however, resolutely stayed inside his cave, where he knows he can see better. Ability: Tension (are Dream World abilities allowed?) – Tyranor’s intimidating battle prowess scares challengers, making them less likely to consider recovering before attacking. Moves: Crunch - Tyranor uses his powerful jaws to crush an enemy's body, which may leave them defenseless for a follow-up. Earthquake - Tyranor slams his whole body into the ground, sending waves of force rippling through the earth. It hurts him and leaves him stunned for a bit. Thrash - Tyranor flails around madly trying to hit the opponent. This may stun him for a while after using it from dizziness.

fenrir
[spoiler=Fenrir – Orion (Metang)]Name: Orion Estimated Age: 4 years old Original Species: A short coat purebred weimaraner (previously had an owner) Pokémon Species: Metang Appearance: As a weimaraner with a charcoal-blue coat, his coloration has not changed much, if anything it is a bit darker than it normally would be. Can also be called INCEPTION and often comes with a 'BAAAAAAAAWM' sound effect. bury the year
Queen – The intention of this RP was to try to mix significantly-different species together, e.g. not bee-on-bee. You’re not making a Pokémon out of an animal; instead, you’re combining the two. There should be more differentiation. It’s perfectly OK if you want to keep it like it is, but you could reconsider switching to a different animal/Pokémon. In terms of what you do need to change, however, you need to add another paragraph to her personality and change it so that her new size isn’t too much bigger than her original. (It’d make the glamour work funnily.) PENDING. Hackles – First off, you titled your application spoiler wrong: look closer at the example. I do like your personality and the idea of a feral dog, but realistically it wouldn’t work – a baby pup wouldn’t survive more than a few days without constant maternal supervision. If you want this angle, you’ll have to expand. Also, the same problem that I discussed with Queen’s app applies to yours, in that it’s supposed to be a more “radical” fusion of species. Consider trying an alternate selection. PENDING. Orion – Love the idea of the Metang crossbreed, but there’s still a few logistical things to work out. First of all, the “giant arms extending from the back” thing would be too awkward, for reasons that I explained to you over MSN. Secondly, how he escaped from the kennel with such little notice otherwise needs to be explained some more. Otherwise, love it, especially the Inception reference. PENDING. Shradow, reservation accepted.
Premier Alexander Romanov
I figured Queen could appear as a swarm of bees to humans. Also, since she is a former hive mind, she doesn't have that much of a personality to start out with, but she eventually grows one.

Yankee
[spoiler=Character] Name: Zorax Estimated Age: 2 Original Species: Ferial Cat Pokémon Species: Zoroark Appearance: A typical cat, with slightly more spiky, reddish hair. The hair is just barely fluffier than a sleek cat, too. His hair looks like that of Zoroark, except slightly darker. He is the typical height of a cat, being skinnier than usual however. Even though he is very skinny, his bones cannot be seen, as he is apparently physically built to be skinny. Personality: He’s a rather cold and quiet being, preferring to just be with himself. He completely stays out of big situations, or things that may go against him, but still like to have fun. While his idea of fun may be a bit more morbid that others, it’s still there. At times he may do something out of the norm to him, even putting himself in bad situations for fun. He does it with knowledge beforehand that he will get out it without a problem, however. On top of that, if he's asked who he is, he will give a false identity, showing that even while he's with others, even those he may trust, he still hides a little bit of himself. He has a very high desire to be wanted or needed by others. He's pretty much a quietly unpredictable being. History: When he was less than a year old, his family moved away from New York, leaving him to be raised by whatever the city gave to him. Fortunately, he was given the gift of being taken in by a group of ferial cats that had been abandoned earlier in their lives as well. Sadly, that can only last so long. When the prototyping began, the group fell apart and disbanded, apparently unable to cope with seeing each other in pain as bad as this. A very long time later, a cold, lonely, and tired Zorax felt a sharp pain ran through his entire body. As he rolled in agony, he realized what was happening. He had long yearned to have a family again, or even just to be wanted. He figured that if he let the transformation happen, he might gain something that he could use to help him get what he most desperately wanted. So he did. Who knows, maybe it's because he didn't fight it that he was able to be prototyped so effectively? Maybe. Maybe not. Either way, it was completed very well. As a result, he gained a nearly full ability to use the ability of his prototyping being. Adaptations: He's now able to work VERY well in the dark, as he can see perfectly clearly in it. On top of that, he his physical strengths have increased by a large amount. He can run and jump much faster and higher than that of a typical cat. For his size, he could be compared to a cheetah in terms of speed, and can jump a full two meters in the air. His stamina has also greatly improved in some areas. If he paces himself, he can run at a constant high speed for a very long period of time. However, his pain problem is that because he is as secretive and sneaky as he is, his endurance is very lacking. He cannot take a large amount of damage before he is unable to fight any longer. Also, he cannot take much pain before his physical abilities begin to fall. Ability: Illusion. Simply put, he can transform into the last thing that he defeated in battle. If he beat a bird, he can transform into a bird. He can even take the appearance of a prototyped animal that he has defeated. However, it is limited to that - appearance. He does not gain any of the abilities or knowledge of the thing he is transforming into. He simply gains their appearance and voice. Moves: 1. Night Slash - The strongest move he has. He gained it by allowing the transformation to happen, allowing a near complete fusion. His claws (on all four paws) begin to glow with a dark aura. He then uses his high speed to attack the opponent with quick slashes with it’s claws, assisted by dark energy from the darkness around him. Obviously, it is much stronger at night, or in darkness, and is considerably weaker in the light, if not completely ineffective.2. Hone Claws - A basic move gained from the transformation. It’s still a rather useful move to him. He lets out a loud hiss, and puts a large amount of energy into his claws, causing them to grow longer, and sharper.3. Scratch - Really? Yoko Kurama
[spoiler= Clutch – Dantes (Nidorino)]Name: Dantes Estimated Age: Nearly 2 years. Poison Sting – Dantes horn coats itself in an underlying poison, making it a lethal weapon to those who come in contact with it.

bury the year
Zorax - For formatting's sakes, please recopy the app with the bold tags and fix your spoiler title. You need more description in the appearance, as well, including height and other distinct traits. The personality could use some work as well with fleshing it out - right now, it's rather bland. The history is spotty in areas; like mentioned before, an animal abandoned at such a young age probably wouldn't be taken in by other animals, but rather become food. The adaptations are also supposed to be more physical than mental. Finally, look at the descriptions of the moves on other profiles and try to match that level. You can do it: I've seen your work. PENDING. Dantes - First off, watch your spelling and grammar: I recommend going through your app on Word. Also, the ability "Mindless" and the attack "Obnoxious Claws" don't seem to actually exist for a Nidorino. This is the Bulbapedia entry on the Pokemon, so you should probably go through it and replace it with canon alternatives. The natural adaptations don't make much sense, either - the Pokedex entries on Nidorino state that they're aggressive, not logical at all. Finally, what the heck's a "science farm?" Fix these, please. PENDING.

Shradow
[spoiler=Shradow – Ragaror (Tropius)]Name: Ragaror Estimated Age: 101 (The average age is 40, but box turtles can live up to 120 years.) Original Species: Box Turtle (They can be pets, and while it's possibly illegal, his owner had a permit, so it's okay.) Pokémon Species: Tropius Appearance: Ragaror's body grew a bit from his prototyping, his limbs growing in length, and his neck extending more than anything. He forms strategies about anything and everything, and is aggravated by those who leap before they think, dubbing them "Leeroy Jenkins", a name he once heard from his master.(Mmmm... meat and potatoes...) History: As a simple box turtle, Ragaror lived in a science facility as a pet to a marine biologist. His new master came to find him in his new form, and hearing about other such cases on the news prior, began experimenting immediately. After one day, Ragaror had had enough, and he broke out and fled from the lab into the city of New York. He is surprisingly maneuverable and graceful in the air, though his bulk makes flying for long periods of time tiring. I trust I don't have to explain any of the moves' or ability's canon effects. Also, you just gotta love the transition from Nintendo logic to real world physics.
Azphreal
I think, Shradow, that you will end up with the same problem as me.
Premier Alexander Romanov
And the same problem I had with Queen.
Shradow
Yeah, but I posted my app before I saw what he said about that. Then I went back and added in that last sentence.
bury the year
Ragaror - Eh... Sorry, but I can't give any special privileges. Since I've already asked two people to change their apps on the same grounds, I'll have to ask you to do the same. Please switch either your real-life species or your Pokemon species. (May I recommend either Tropius or Snivy?) However, I will say that your app is near-perfect outside of this, so if you change this around, you're pretty much accepted. PENDING. As for the mass amounts of confusion that have resulted from this, I've added an addendum to the rules that will hopefully clarify things in the future.
