They say the third time's the charm, so I'm bringing Yu-Gi-Oh! NXG back again! There will be some major changes however. In order to keep things running smoothly, all characters will now use decks made of REAL life cards only. This will allow me to simulate every duel in the chapters on my Over the Nexus game and get chapters out faster. All the characters names and personalities will stay the same. The styles of their decks shall as well (ex: Taizen used a Future Warrior deck. It'll now be a basic Warrior Type deck)

It all seems unreal. How can any of this be happening? I’m supposed to be a normal, everyday student at Duel Academy, not someone thrown into the Shadow Realm in order to fight the evil forces of the Dark Demons Organization. Why was I chosen for this? And why have my friends been dragged into it? I think of the exams, how Kuro and I had to duel both Zeel Truesdale and Crowler just to get in…Crowler, what a brave man. He gave his life for us, sacrificed everything so that we could defeat the evil. Then there was the incident with Kuro and Aivea, a duel everyone wanted to see. The son of the King of Games taking on the daughter of Kaiba Corps president. Then, of course, there was Kensuke versus Crim, after which the latter stole Kensuke’s dangerous Red Eyes Curse card. That’s what got us into this mess.

Now we stand here, staring down the legendary Tovee Coma. She’s my hero, my inspiration for dueling, and is also a member of the D.D.O. I don’t know what to think anymore. How could I possibly face her? But I don’t have to! No, for Jaden Yuki and Seto Kaiba arrived in time to save us. Two of the world’s top duelists have made their way into the Shadow Realm themselves, ready to help us escape. It is Jaden who has stepped forward and is now face to face with Tovee, so it must be he who is to face off against her. How will his Elemental Heroes fare against her amazing, championship deck though? She runs some of the most feared cards known to man; Koa’ki Meiru.

“Jaden Yuki, it’s been a while. I can’t remember the last time we dueled. It was I who won, was it not?”

“The past is behind us Tovee! All that matters now is kicking your ass! Now, get your game on!”

The two of them draw their five cards, and Jaden allows Tovee to make the first move. She begins the duel by placing two face downs in her spell/trap zone, as well as a face down defense position monster. She then ends her turn, smirking at her opponent in a fearful silence. Jaden just grins and draws his card.

“Ok Tovee, let’s get this duel started! I play Emergency Call to bring one Elemental Hero from my deck to my hand! And now I summon, Elemental Hero Heat!”

The red, armored monster appears before me, shouting out a battle cry as Jaden adds, “Due to Heats effect, he gains 200 attack for every Elemental Hero on the field, including himself, bringing him to 1800! Next I will attack your face down!”

Tovee’s card flips over, revealing Koa’Ki Meiru Urnight. It wails as it’s destroyed, leaving Tovee’s field wide open. Jaden then plays The Gravekeepers Servant, which makes it so that his opponent cannot attack unless she discards the top card of her deck. Laughing, he then notions for Tovee to make her move. Grinning, she draws and instantly plays Koa’ki Ring.

“This little toy allows me to destroy one monster on the field, and all I have to do is show you a Koa’ki Meiru monster in my hand. Oh, and guess what, we both then lose 1000 life points,” she laughs. A giant ring then surrounds Elemental Hero Heat, squeezing it until he explodes. The life point meters for both of the duelists then drop by 1000 each.

“Now I will summon Koa’ki Meiru Guardian! I discard a card from my deck, and attack for 1900 damage! I will then get rid of this card in my hand to keep my Guardian on the field. Your turn Jaden, but what can you do now?”

“I’ll tell you what I can do,” Jaden shouts out, drawing his card, “I can play Fusion Gate, which I now activate! By removing from play Elemental Hero Neos and Elemental Hero Burstinitrix from my hand, I can now fusion summon Vision Hero Adoration!”

A huge monster suddenly appears on the field, towering above Tovee’s guardian. Showing a sign of shock, she seems to recoil at the summon, but holds her ground. Jaden then has Adoration attack Koa’ki Meiru Guardian, resulting in 900 points of damage to Tovee. So far the duel seems even from what I can see. I only can hope Jaden can pull this off.

“My turn!” Tovee yells out, “I’ll set a face down card and…”

“..and you end, right? Looks like I’ve got you on the ropes, huh?” Jaden laughs as he draws his next card, “I summon Elemental Hero Wildheart, who now attacks you for 1500!”

“Sorry, but I’ll play Core Reinforcement. You see, I can now special summon a Koa’ki Meiru monster from my graveyard, right in the middle of your attack! Return, Koa’ki Meiru Urnight! So now, the attack difference is clear. Are you going to continue?”

“No,” Jaden says with a smile, “but Adoration will! Destroy Urnight!”

Lunging forward, Vision Hero Adoration attacks Koa’ki Meiru Urnight, blasting it to pieces. Jaden then sets a face down card, handing his turn over to Tovee. Drawing, she then begins her turn by playing Urgent Synthesis.

“By returning Iron Core of Koa’ki Meiru to my deck, I can special summon a Koa’ki Meiru monster from my grave! And I decide to once again bring back my Urnight! I discard a card, and Urnight, attack Wildheart!”

The attack goes through, destroying Jaden’s hero in the process. However, he just begins to laugh, “Man, I haven’t had this much fun in a long time! I activate Hero Signal! Because my Wildheart was destroyed, I can now special summon an Elemental Hero Heat from my deck! “

“I play Koa’ki Meiru Initialize! I tribute my Urnight to add my Iron Core of Koa’ki Meiru to my hand! Make your move Yuki, and make it good. If you don’t you won’t like what I do to you!”

“Ok, I plan on it. I draw, and will now use Fusion Gate to fuse my Elemental Hero Heat with the Chaos-End Master in my hand! Please welcome to the field, Elemental Hero The Shining! It’s over Tovee. Adoration and The Shining, attack and end this!

Screaming, Tovee Coma, my dueling hero, watches as Jaden’s two monsters attack, finishing off her lifepoints. Falling to the ground, she looks shocked for a moment, but soon begins to laugh hysterically. A light envelops her, tearing her apart atom by atom, shredding at her very being until nothing is left. The sight is horrible to watch, but like a car wreck you just can’t help but look. Jaden then stands there, victorious, as he frowns at the sight that came before him. I can’t believe it either; Tovee Coma is dead.

“Joey, are you ready?”

Stepping over the sands of the mysterious beach, King of Games Yugi Motou and his friend Joey Wheeler slowly approach the two mysterious D.D.O. members awaiting them. However, before they can load their decks into their duel disks, shock comes on both Yugi and Joey’s faces. The individuals across from them suddenly look at each other and begin to walk away. They seem surprised by something, and are in a hurry to leave. Yugi and Joey try to advance on them when HE appears.

Donning the same black cloak of the other organization members, and wings fully spread out, Sheng appears with a menacing glare directed at the two. He then looks behind them at the remaining students and nods, talking to himself quietly so that no one can hear. Then, as he nods his head again, we all wake up.

My eyes dart around, unsure if what I’m seeing is real. We seem to be back in our world, in front of the Ra Yellow dorm. I would think this had all been a dream if not for the fact that we were all here, including the legendary duelists that came to our rescue. Kensuke, Kuro, Hui, Kisuke, Sakura, even Crim and Aivea are here. Seto Kaiba, Yugi Motou, Joey Wheeler and Jaden Yuki have returned with us as well, which makes me wonder how they even got into the Shadow Realm to begin with, a question I instantly ask Jaden.

“Oh, that’s easy! It was…”

“…my doing,” a cold drawl calls out over the misty academy. Standing before us is a girl none of us have seen before. Her clothes are those of the Obelisk Blue dorm, yet even Aivea seems perplexed as to her identity. Walking closer, she helps me up, of all people, and continues to explain exactly how she brought the others into the Shadow Realm.

“You see, there’s a movement beginning. I guess you can call it a secret right now, but Baito Suzuka is at the head of it. We don’t have a name as of yet, but what we do have is a gift. You see Taizen Hiruka, we’re psychics.”

Yep, psychics. Seems like a rational explanation for everything. Of course, how can I even trust this mysterious girl. I do not know her name, and she openly admitted to working with Baito Suzuka, the leader of the D.D.O. Right now there’s nothing about her that invites me to ask more. However, it seems Jaden has other plans, as he asks the exact questions I had been wondering.

“My name is Nakio, and yes, I work for Baito Suzuka. I didn’t tell you before Jaden because it might’ve stopped you from helping the students here. You see, I may work for Baito, but my goals are my own. I do not agree with his Organization or plans to take over the world with his powers. Of course, you probably don’t know the Organization’s true goals. Let me shed some light on this for you. You’ll need to know if you’re going to defeat him.”

“The Dark Demons Organization was started when Baito Suzuka was fired from Duel Academy. He worked here as a teacher, and was very close to another. Also gifted with psychic powers, Xiva Vulzah became the object of his affection. He found her an outsider like him, and thought they were destined to be together. She shunned him however, which got Baito very angry. He abused and raped her, and was arrested soon after. He began the D.D.O. for revenge against the Academy. It wasn’t until recently that he learned his powers could be used to rule the world. Now he’s even more dangerous, and he won’t stop until everyone submits to him.”

Meanwhile, in the Chancellor’s office, Chancellor Sheppard paces back and forth, worried about the oncoming events Professor Vulzah prophesied. He can see the sky darkening out the window, and knows it’s only a matter of time until Baito himself arrives. The rest of the Organization have come, and they’ve already started to take over the school.

“What can I do, they’re too powerful for someone like me to handle,” Sheppard says quietly, continuing to pace, “once Baito arrives, things are going to get worse. I can only hope Nakio is getting them ready. They have the power to save the entire world from disaster, just as Yugi and Jaden had before them.”

“No Chancellor, nothing can stop me” calls a voice so poisoned with evil that darkness itself hides as the lights switch on. Standing there at the closed door is the one man Sheppard didn’t want to see, Baito Suzuka. Dressed in the same Obelisk Blue uniform Crowler had been wearing before his death, the man steps forward with a horrible sneer on his face. Tilted glasses rest on the bridge of his nose, and his dark brown hair is spiked up.

“You see, I am more powerful than you could have imagined. Even poor Xiva can’t compare to what I’ve become. I sold my soul, you see. I gave it to the shadows, which in turn granted me God-like power! The world is my oyster Sheppard, and there’s nothing you or your students can do to stop me! Not even the famous Yugi Motou is strong enough to take me down!”

“That’s where you’re wrong Baito,” Sheppard laughs, getting in the enemies face, “we do have one who can stop you. He’s the only one powerful enough to save the world from your reign of terror. You know exactly who I’m talking about too, don’t you? You can detect him right now. If he reaches the source, it all comes to an end. You lose Baito.”

Anger flowing through him, Baito screams in rage and pulls from his pocket a large handgun. Pressing it directly to Sheppard’s temple, he pulls the trigger. Watching, his rage then turns to glee as he watches one of the people responsible for his life being ruined fall to the ground, blood shooting from the steaming hole in his head. And on the floor of the office, Chancellor Sheppard lay dead, murdered by the man he chose to stand up against.

Returning the gun to his pocket, Baito then laughs psychotically as he walks around the desk, sitting down in the Chancellors chair. Smiling sadistically, he sits there as the self-appointed new Chancellor, looking out into the grounds. His army is advancing, and the world is his for the taking. Lifting his right arm, he pulls away the glove covering it, revealing a horribly scarred hand. Waving it carelessly in the air, he then smirks as a portal to the Shadow Realm opens, then merges with the human world!

Chapter 23: Halloween Special Pt. 2

Right away we know something's wrong. A cold chill flows through the nighttime air, the same as when we watched Crowler die before us. This is different though, as if every hope we had just flew out the window. Nothing seems to matter anymore, because it seems we've already lost. I almost don't want to admit it, but I did hear the gunshot. Someone's been killed, I can tell. I don't even know why or how I know, but it's the only thing I can be sure of right now.

The thirteen of us stand here in silence, not even trying to speak. We know that the Dark Demons Organization has invaded the academy, and we know Baito Suzuka is either on his way or already here. We're just teens, what could we possibly do to stop this? But wait, Yugi Motou was a teenager when he stopped Marik Ishtar and did all the amazing feats he's now known for. Jaden Yuki was still here at the Academy when he defeated the Shadow Riders and went through the Dark World. If they can stand up to evil, why can't we?

"Everybody" I say quietly, stepping in front of them, "we can do this. The Dark Demons Organization are dangerous, but that doesn't mean we can't win. We're determined and are all great duelists. Plus, we have Nakio on our side, a member of the organization."

I look up, towards the window in front of the Chancellors office. Sighing, I then turn back to them and add, "That gunshot came from Chancellor Sheppard's office, I'm sure of it. I don't know if he was the one shooting or was the one shot, but I promise you all we will make sure Baito Suzuka is taken down. That's the best place to start. Who's with me?"

It's no surprise that Kuro, Kensuke, and Hui step forward first, being my friends. They walk over to me, patting me on the back with warm smiles. The next to come over are Yugi, Joey, Jaden and Seto, all willing to fight once again for the safety of the world. Sakura, Crim, Aivea, Kisuke, and Nakio then join the rest of us, making a full group ready to take on the D.D.O. It's kind of exciting knowing we're about to fight against the forces of evil, but we must be cautious as we go on.

Moving forward, all thirteen of us head up the curved pathway towards the school. The only thing I can think about the entire way is whether or not Sheppard is ok. I've only talked to him a couple of times, but he just seemed so nice and forgiving with everyone. Hard to believe someone as cold and calous as Seto Kaiba hired him when he had the school built. As we quickly approach the front doors, our worst fears envelop us, for standing in our way is a large man in a D.D.O. cloak.

"It's da man from da beach," Joey says, staring intently at the tall figure. I'm not sure what he means, but it might have something to do with what happened to the others when they left my group in the shadow realm. Removing his cloak, he is revealed to be heavily built. His head is bald apart from a small black goatee, and he sports a dragon-like tattoo on the side of his face. Grinning maliciously, he cracks his neck as he blocks the path into the school. That's when, out of the corner of my eye, I spot Seto walking forward.

"He's mine," Kaiba states. His look shows actual excitement, but also the unmistakable desire to destroy someone in a duel. The rest of us nod and run past the two, who stand there, ready for their battle to begin. As we run into the building, Seto stands there smirking at the sight of his opponent, who has brought out a demonic shaped duel disk. Dropping a suitcase, Seto removes from it his own disk, and loads in his special deck.

"The name's Cassius Roquefort," the huge man tells him, cracking his neck again, "Fourth rank officer of the D.D.O. I've heard a lot about your style Kaiba. You often use brute force to face your opponents, trying to defeat them by any means. I'm quite similar."

"I don't care about your life story. Now shut up and duel," Seto responds, drawing his cards. Right away Seto makes the first move, setting one face down and summoning, "Summoner Monk! This card now swtiches to defense mode, but at the cost of a Spell Card from my hand, I can special summon a level four monster from my deck. I send Trade-In to the graveyard to special summon Vorse Raider!"

"Typical move from someone like you" Cassius laughs, drawing his own card, "but it's my turn now! I set two face downs. You know what Kaiba, I'll even end it there. Make your move, hehe."

Glaring at Cassius, Seto angrily snarls at the disrespect shown, but draws his card anyways. Looking through his hand, Seto smirks and says, "Trying to get in my head, are you? It won't work. I summon D.D. Warrior Lady and activate my Summoner Monk's effect! I send Different Dimension Reincarnation to the grave to..."

"...STOP right there! I activate Bottomless Trap Hole!"

"Sorry," Kaiba replies with a slight laugh, "but no you don't. I activate Dark Bribe!I negate your Bottomless Trap Hole, allowing you to draw a card. You're not dueling some weak student here, remember that. As I was saying, I send Different Dimension Reincarnation to the grave to special summon a second Vorse Raider!"

Gnashing his teeth in anger over Kaiba's reversal, Cassius watches as the monster appears before him. Laughing, Seto notices his anger and says with a grin, "Do you finally realize who you're facing? My D.D. Warrior Lady and Vorse Raider shall now attack for a combined total of 3400 attack points!"

"Ugh, you're stronger than I imagined Kaiba, and I see you've got a different deck than before."

"It's a little different, but still reflects the base of my original. Now make your move!"

"Fine," Cassius laughs, "but you'll regret it. I draw, and set two cards. I'll end my turn there. Will you risk attacking now!?"

Laughing, Seto draws his next card and yells out, "I summon Bazoo the Soul-Eater! And I now flip my Summoner Monk into attack mode. It's time to end this Cassius. Bazoo attack!"

"Not so fast! I activate Mirror Force! Now every one of your attack position monsters are destroyed! And that's all of them, mwahahahaha!!!," Cassius yells, "You fell right into my trap. Of course, you probably thought I was bluffing before, but you took the risk anyways."

All the monsters on Seto's side of the field shatter, leaving his field wide open. Ending his turn, Kaiba growls as Cassius laughs hysterically and says, "I'll replace that Mirror Force with another face down. Your move Kaiba."

Drawing, beads of sweat drip down Kaiba's forehead as he says quietly, "I'll set a monster face down and end my turn."

"HA! At the end of your rope Kaiba? I knew you wouldn't be a challenge! I'll draw and summon D.D. Survivor! That's right," he laughs as Kaiba watches in shock, "I have Different Dimension cards as well. Survivor, attack his face down!"

Flipping face up, D.D. Scout Plane is destroyed, leaving Kaiba once again open. Fear can now be seen on Seto's face, though he masks it behind his usual toughness. Drawing a card, he sets another monster face down and once again ends, out of a lack of anything else to do.

Cassius draws and yells out, "I sacrifice my Survivor for a more powerful monster! Say hello to Caius the Shadow Monarch! Oh, and he has an interesting little effect. You see, I can remove from play any card on the field. If it's a dark attribute monster, you lose 1000 life points!"

Kaiba's lone monster then flips, revealing another D.D. Scout Plane. His life point meter than drops by 1000, however Cassius then has his monster attack, dealing another 2400. As the turn ends, the Scout Plane returns to the field by it's effect. Drawing a card, Seto now prepares to make his next move, desperate to do something to regain control of the duel.

"I'll summon D.D. Warrior Lady! Say goodbye to Caius! Because when Warrior Lady now attacks, both her and Caius are removed from play! I'll switch my scout plane into defense and end my turn."

"Heh, good move. But I draw, and will now activate Return from the Different Dimension! I pay half of my remaining life points and special summon back to the field, Caius the Shadow Monarch! And since he would be removed again at the end of the turn, I'll simply sacrifice him for another Caius! This will activate his effect, as you know. Scout Plane is destroyed and you lose 1000 life points! Caius, attack for another 2400!"

As his life points fall to 300, Seto drops to his knees. He knows he might not make it out of this alive, but refuses to give up. Drawing a card, he sets one face down then activates Silent Doom, allowing him to, "Special summon a monster from my grave in face-up defense."

Vorse Raider returns to the field, and Seto flips D.D. Scout Plane into defense to end his turn. Laughing, Cassius watches Seto pitifully try to stand up, then draws his own card.

"I activate Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy your face down card." Torrential Tribute is revealed, but shatters as Cassius laughs, "Caius, Warrior Lady, clear his field!"

The attack goes through perfectly, leaving Kaiba apparently defeated. He doesn't know what else he's supposed to do. Drawing a card, he stares at the Blue Eyes White Dragon now in his hand, the monster he could've used a while back. The only other card he has is a Y-Dragon Head, and with Cassius having two monsters, he's lost. It's in the others hands now.

********************************************************************************************************

Climbing the stairs to get to the Chancellors office, the twelve of us go as fast as possible, hoping that the worst hasn't happened. Suddenly, however, Aivea collapses at the foot of the next staircase going up. She's staring out the large window pointed outside, where a clear view of Seto and Cassius' duel could be seen. We all stop as well, looking out to see what she did. Seto Kaiba is collapsed on the ground with Cassius standing above him.

Tears flood Aivea's eyes as she kneels there, watching the horrible sight. Seto Kaiba is dead, defeated in an effort to help us escape. Walking forward, Kuro kneels beside Aivea and hugs her tight, whispering into her ear that everything is going to be ok. Smiles spread across the rest of our faces as we join in, all giving our support for her in this time of need.

Thanking us, she smiles sweetly at Kuro (the first time I've ever even seen her smile) and suggests we keep moving. In agreement, we rush up the final flight of stairs, bursting through the door and into the abandoned hallway. The Chancellor's office is straight at the end of it, so in haste, we run as fast as we can. As we finally reach it, I turn the handle the throw the door open.

It's too late.

Sitting in the chair behind Sheppard's deck is a man I had never seen before. Tall with brown hair and glasses. He wears a blue jacket, similar to the one I remember Crowler had been wearing before he died. This has to be Baito Suzuka. Then we see him, layed to the right of the desk, blood seeping through a gunshot wound to the temple, is Chancellor Sheppard. It's true then, Baito has murdered the Chancellor.

"Father..." Kisuke states, walking forward. Trying to stop him, Sakura grabs his arm, and then it happens. In one swift movement, Kisuke turns around and pushes Sakura to the ground, stomping on her arm in the process. We hear a sickening crunch as her bones snap, and everything goes silent. Her mouth gaping open, Sakura lays there in silent screams, grasping at her arm in a terrible pain. Baito smiles sadistically as Kisuke joins him, leaving the eleven of us against him.

"She shouldn't have done that," Baito says quietly, "now her frail little arm is broken. Such a waste."

As he shakes his head, we hear footsteps behind us. Could more of the D.D.O. be coming to help Baito and Kisuke? As we turn to find out, we see three people we could've never expected. The first is the creator of Duel Monsters, Maximillion Pegasus. Second is tag dueling world champion Zane Truesdale. The third though I do not know. He is young though, and seems to be out of place with the others. Shouting, Peagaus yells for us to leave now, to which none of us can argue. We didn't think this through, and now look what happened. Aivea and Kuro support Sakura as we run out, following the three duelists.

We soon arrive at the Obelisk Blue dueling arena, where Zane wraps up Sakura's arm. Pegasus then looks at us and sighs, asking, "What were you kids thinking!? Baito Suzuka is a dangerous man, and his cards are even worse! If you had gone up against him now you'd all be dead!

"He's right," the mysterious man says, "my name is Rex Goodwin, nice to meet you all. You've heard about the Satelite, right? It's that small portion of Domino City that's pretty much been abandoned? I live there with the rest of the poor people. It seems the government is abandoning us too. I had met Zane a while back and dueled him. He asked Pegasus to bring me along."

"We can't worry about introductions right now," Zane snaps as he lays Sakura down to rest her arm, "things are getting really bad here. Baito has declared the school his, and he plans to begin classes again. On top of this, he's begun to merge the Shadow Realm into this world. This could be very bad for us, especially when the duel spirits are unleashed. I need all of you to fight this."

"Yes, you all need to take down Baito's minions first. Fighting them will prepare you for Baito. But you should all split up. Try to work in groups to take them all down. Yugi-boy here will need to lead one of them," Pegasus states, looking at the King of Games. Yugi nods as Pegasus continues, "I'll be leading Jaden Yuki and from what I've heard, my biggest fan."

Hui smiles in glee as Pegasus looks to him. Rex Goodwin declares that he'll be leading Crim Victince when suddenly, another student comes in. Dressed in a white outfit, he walks up to Rex and says, "I heard what's going on. I can join you, I'm ready to duel to save the academy. My name is Alex Gren."

Nodding, Rex allows him on his team. Zane notes that due to Sakura's injuries, she'll be with him, as will Joey Wheeler. Joey simply nods and gives Yugi a thumbs up. Smiling, the King of Games returns the notion and calls out, "Aivea, Kuro, and Kensuke, you three are with me." Smiling, they all join him together, leaving myself and Nakio to be the final team.

"Will you two be ok by yourselves?," Kuro asks, looking worried.

"Of course. Taizen is destined to have a big role in this, I need to lead him through his destiny," Nakio states, smiling over at me. I try to return it, but find myself worried as well. Not because of the small team I've been put in, but because of who we're pitted against. Deciding to split up, all the groups except for Zane's heads out to different parts of the grounds.

Nakio and I head straight to the lake in the middle of the island. I am not sure why, but she is leading me there so I feel it to be a good idea. We arrive and everything seems calm. The waters are moving normally, and not even the wind is breathing through the trees. Suddenly, that all changes as it seems reality tears in front of us. A huge hole appears in the middle of the lake and stepping out from it are the mysterious man in the top hat from before, as well as the worst possible person I could've come into contact with.

Heading into the woods, Yugi's group comes upon the old abandoned dorm. Nodding, he alerts them to be on their guard when suddenly, they're approached by a member of the D.D.O. Removing his cloak, he's revealed to be an older guy, dressed in a heroic looking body armor. He says nothing, but slips on his duel disk, as Yugi does the same. However, Aivea stops him and pulls out her own disk, stepping up to challenge the mysterious villain.

Meanwhile, behind the academy, Rex, Crim and Alex are walking towards the islands dormant volcano when they too are stopped by the appearance of a D.D.O. member. This one is a female and already has her hood off. Her long dark hair comes down to her chest and her eyes glare forward. Stepping back, Crim watches in horror as his own mother slips on a duel disk.

Still in the dueling arena, Zane continues to set Sakura's wound while Joey stand guard. However, a huge force suddenly pushes him back, sending him flying into the rows of seats. Standing where Joey had just been is a cloaked man. His hands in his pockets, he grins and walks forward, heading right for Zane and Sakura.

"No," I cry out as I stare at the two men before me. The one I do not know, though from what Kensuke told me as we were climbing the stairs, he was at the beach with that big guy who killed Seto. The other person I know well however, for he's my best friend. He was denied by the academy, but I couldn't believe he'd join the D.D.O. None the less, here he was, walking up to me. A wild grin on his face, Kaitou Suzuragi smiles and me and asks, "How's it been Taizen?" right as he slams a blade into my heart. Falling to the ground, I look up at an enraged Nakio as I slowly slip away, murdered by my own best friend.

Chapter 24: Halloween Special Pt. 3
"Monster," Nakio quietly says, staring down at the lifeless body before her. Kaitou gives her an odd look, but quickly turns it to a wild grin, at which point he begins to lick the blood from the knife. His companion, the unnamed top hatted man, slaps his hand to his face, hiding beneath it a grin of unmistakable malice. That's when things begin to change. A cold wind begins to blow through the nighttime air, and suddenly Kaitou notices Nakio waving back and forth on the spot. She seems to be muttering to herself, though can not be discerned. She simply stands there, waving to and fro.
"Tinker Tailor, Soldier Sailor. My my, we have been naughty tonight, haven't we? Using that shiney little blade to run your friend right through. No remorse, not even a tear shed for little Taizen. Seems like you're in need of a little rehabilitation."

The sudden outburst by the girl shocks and surprises him, as he had not expected it. An insane giggling begins to seep through her lips, only shocking him more. A moment ago she was normal, even horrified by the murder that took place in front of her. How could she have changed so quickly? As her giggles become full psychotic laughter, Kaitou simply smirks, turning to walk away. As he does, he stops in front of the other man and quietly speaks.
"Leram, she's as batshit insane as you. Take care of her for me, won't you?"

At that exact moment, a portal seems to materialize in front of him, allowing him to walk through. Looking up as the portal closes, the man revealed as Leram removes his hand from his face, revealing a horrible sight. His eyes are widened far beyond what they should be, and his tongue now hangs limply from his mouth in a crazed way. The sight intrigues Nakio, causing her to lean forward and try to get a better look. Leram cackles madly and pulls a odd looking duel disk from thin air. It's in the shape of a four-spiked object with thorns on the straps. Putting it on, he slips in a deck and laughs.

"So he left me with you huh? What a waste of perfect insanity you are. I guess it's time to show you to the fun house, and throw some knives. Tinker Tailor, Soldier Sailor. Time to duel."
***************************************************************************************************************

"Nice to meet you too," Pegasus smiles, returning a handshake to Hui Don, who nearly passes out, "but right now we have to worry about other things. We have to find someone from the Organization. Jaden-boy and I can handle things, but you're a different story. You're still young and we need to prepare you for the final battle against Baito."

Nodding, Hui follows the other two into the halls of the school. They pass through easily, finding no one in their way. The school seems to be completely abandoned, as if all the students somehow left. As the three of them continue down a particularly deserted hall, even void of any light, they're suddenly approached. In front of them stands Kisuke Suzuka, his bird Yata on his shoulder. Hui makes a motion, but is stopped quickly by Pegasus.

"So," Kisuke says, looking alert at the noise of Hui's step, "Hui Don is here. Knowing you, you're probably with Maximillion Pegasus, am I right? But who is the third I sense? Yata, would you be my eyes?"

Watching, the three nearly fall back in shock as the bird on his shoulder opens it's beak, emitting a loud screaching noise. Kisuke laughs and pets the bird as it stops. Walking forward, he then pulls out a large duel disk, a deck already loaded into it. A smile spreads across his face. He seems amused by Yata's reaction, and stops only feet away from the group. Jaden starts forward to duel, but Pegasus shakes his head.

"Hui needs to do this. He needs to get better, and dueling Baito's son will help. Here, use my deck," Pegasus says, handing a box of cards to his admirer. Smiling, Hui nods and removes a deck from the box, sliding it into his own duel disk in place of his. He then smiles and steps up, beginning the duel with Kisuke.

************************************************************************************************************

"Tinker Tailor, Soldier Sailor. My turn comes first. I pick up a card and start the fun, set two down and summon one! Nurse Reficule the Fallen One, come out! It's effect is simple you see. If you would gain life points by an effect, I take em from ya instead!"

The monster appears on the field, making Nakio giggle slightly. Staring at it, she then takes another card in her hand and continue speaking, "Now I'll play my Upstart Goblin, and he's a great guy. He allows me to draw a card, and will even give you one thousand life points in return. Oh! But wait a super second, my Nurse has to be a meanie and stop his gift, taking those life points from you instead. And I end by putting yet another card face down."

Leram cocks his head to the side as his life point meter drops by 1000, but doesn't seem too affected. His insane grin still sits on his face as he then draws a card, beginning his turn. In total silence, he executes his move, beginning by playing Mystical Space Typhoon. He points to one of Nakio's cards, flipping it to reveal The Paths of Destiny.
"Oooh, it's time to take the path less traveled!," Nakio laughs, "I will activate in response, I will. We both flip a coin. Heads and our life points jump on the magic trampline by 2000! But if we get a mean old tails, we skydive down, losing 2000 instead. You may go first my funny hatted friend."

Laughing to himself, Leram flips a coin, landing on tails. 2000 life points fall from his meter, at which point Nakio flips her own coin. It too lands on tails, causing her to lose the same amount of lifepoints. Neither stop grinning, however, and seem to be enjoying themselves through every moment of the duel. Still being Leram's turn, he picks through his hand and continues in silence, summoning Fabled Grimro, then motioning for it to attack Nakio's Nurse.
"Tinker Tailor, Soldier Sailor. Not so fast my little friend. I will play my Mirror Force, destroying Grimro instead!" Nakio giggles. Shattering, Fabled Grimro is sent to the graveyard, leaving Leram's field open. However, he sets down two cards in the spell and trap zone, handing the turn over to Nakio. Laughing, she draws a card and makes her move.

"I go flip on my trap, say hello to Bad Reaction of Simochi! It has the same effect as my Nurse, and can be very super awesome! Now I also play my Mystical Space Typhoon to get rid of that bad old card you have on the right."

Flipping over, Call of the Haunted is revealed and destroyed. Nakio then begins to giggle psychotically as she summons another Nurse Reficule the Fallen One. Her laughter subsides after that, but only for a moment. For she then continues as she plays Different Dimension Capsule.

"I can say bye bye to any card in my deck, removing it from the game. In two turns it'll come back to me like always though. No one can resist being with me. I'm just so damn adorable, don't ya think? Anywho, I guess you can go now. Make your move, big boy!"

Again in silence, Leram draws his card. His wide grin and continuous crazed look seems to be different from Nakio's. She can't help but speaking, often saying things that make little to no sense. However, he seems to stay quiet apart from his constant laughing. Flipping the card he has down, he reveals it to be Compulsory Evacuation Device, which allows him to send one of Nakio's Nurse's back to her hand.

Next, he summons Beiige, Vanguard of Dark World, a monster with the ability to be special summoned if discarded while in the hand. He silently has it attack Nakio's second Nurse, going through with two hundred points of damage to her life points. He then ends his turn, leaving her laughing insanely.

"Fun, fun! Do it again!" She cackles, spinning on the spot, "Oh, but you can't. It's my turn now, and I'll begin by setting a monster face down. Wait, I guess that's it then. It's your turn again Mr. Silly Hat, and I'd suggest you make it wisely. Now go, move, DO SOMETHING!"

Nodding with a menacing chuckle, he draws. Waving back and forth again, Nakio watches as Leram summons a second monster, this one being Fabled Kushano. She knows this one well. It has the ability to discard another Fabled monster to add Kushano from the grave to the owners hand. Of course, this ability has no use now that he summoned it, especially if he attacks her face down. Then, as if on cue, he does so, revealing the face down to be Marshmallon, a monster that cannot be destroyed by battle.

"Oh, you attacked my fluffy! Now because he was in face-down defense, you lose 1000, HA! My turn now, which means I get my capsule card back. It always returns, ya see? I now place a card face down, and play Level Limit - Area B! This funky little card makes it so all face-up level four or higher monsters have to go sleepy in defense mode. Your turn now."

Making his move, Leram seems more cautious now as he draws a card. It almost looks like he's trying to avoid smiling and laughing, as if he were in a fight with himself. Looking forward, he shakes his head and ends his turn, which actually confuses Nakio. Staring at him intently, she takes her turn by drawing, then flipping over the card she set last turn.

"Time for a gift to you from me, a card with life points of 1000 times three! My Bad Reaction has to be mean though. It won't let you gain, and will take those life points now. You're down to 1000, and I end my turn. Do something this time, don't make me sad inside."

Drawing, Leram sets a card face down and looks at Nakio. Again his expression seems painful, as if something were bothering him. He shakes his head violently as he keeps smiling and giggling, pretty much signalling for her to go. At this point, Nakio seems disappointed, but draws her own card none the less. It's only another Bad Reaction, so she ends her turn right away, hoping he might do something this time.

Smiling as he draws his next card, Leram suddenly explodes with laughter, sending a card straight from his hand to the grave. He then summons The Tricky, who can be special summoned by discarding a card to the grave. However, a moment later, the same monster he sent to the graveyard is brought back to the field due to it's effect, revealing it to be Fabled Lurrie.

Leram then ends, having foritifed his defenses. Laughing again, Nakio spins around five times while drawing slowly, then stops on a dime. A wide, sinister smile spreads across her face as she giggles and tells her opponent, "It's over now buddy. I play Soul Taker! The most magical card I could've drawn! Isn't my luck amazing!? I can destroy one of your monsters, and give you 1000 life points in return, which is a nice gift considering you only have 1000 left. Wait, what's that? My Bad Reaction to Simochi is going to be a naughty little bugger and make me take those life points from you? Well, that'd mean I win!"

Destroying The Tricky, Nakio watches as Leram's life points drop to zero, making her the winner of the duel. Jumping for joy, she shouts obscene things as loud as possible, when suddenly, Leram drops to the ground. Tears are welling up in his eyes as his permanent smile fades to a horrified frown. His top hat falls to the cold grass as he kneels there, sobbing now instead of laughing.

At that moment, Nakio seems to change as well, turning from her psychotic self to how she was originally. Running up to him, she kneels beside him as he finally begins to speak, telling her, "I never meant for this to happen. He promised to save my daughter, I only wanted her to live...I never wanted my son to pay the price for it."

As Nakio watches, Leram's long dark hair recedes into his skull, turning a light brown at the same time. His eyes then return to normal width, and his skin changes to a lighter tone, seemingly getting older at the same time. At once Nakio recognizes his face, for she had seen it before. Looking to the deceased body on the ground, she stares in shock as tears come down her own eyes. This man, he was Taizen Hiruka's father.

*********************************************************************************************************

Standing there, ready to duel Kisuke, Hui stares impatiently. Kisuke doesn't seem to be paying much attention, but instead is staring off into space. Then, he surprises Hui by lowering his duel disk, saying, "No, you're not ready to duel me. How can you fight a spirit without first knowing death? Cordinates Yata."

The bird once again opens it's mouth, releasing a loud screaching noise. Suddenly, Kisuke pulls a revolver from his pocket, and in one swift motion, fires. At first nothing seems to happen, and to Hui it seems as if his shot was off. However, Jaden's scream tells him otherwise, causing him to turn around. Eyes widening in fear, he watches as Pegasus begins to drop, blood shooting from his chest.

The creator of duel monsters...he can't die here, Hui thinks to himself, watching his idol fall. Jaden shouts in rage, falling to help Pegasus by putting pressure on the wound. He then notices Hui and yells out, "I got him, take care of Kisuke! Come on Hui, get your game on!"

At first, Hui seems to be in complete shock, unable to even move. However, his firts then clench together, and his teeth begin to gnash. Rage takes over his entire body, and turning around, he faces Kisuke, who's returning the gun to his pocket. Growling in pure anger, Hui shouts out and draws his cards.

Yeah, Tovee needs less emotions methinks. You don't have to change anything in this chapter if you're not up to it, but the next time the protagonists confront Tovee, SHE should be more like Gray Fox is just before he and Solid Snake fight in MGS. I'll see if I can fish out that specific cutscene for you.

EDIT: This is it here, if you need reference.

Yeah, them school PCs. Back at my old high school, some classmates of mine managed to bypass the school internet-blocking system. Can't remember how, but I'm guessing the guys who set it up missed this one search engine that could still access the sites that the blocking system was meant to block.

Also, you never played Metal Gear? Huh, and I thought I was late in playing these things. Well, anyway, as long as you have the idea...
