Lord JZ of the Enigma Posted December 27, 2010 Report Share Posted December 27, 2010 [Spoiler=Prologue]Yugi Motou, Judai Yuki, and Yusei Fudo are Legendary Duelists who have made their names known throughout the Dueling World. Gaining great Fame for their wit, passion, and tactics when it came to the art of the Duel. As it is known, there are academies to teach a new generation to understand and keep this game alive. However, over the years the game has begun to take over the very facets of society itself, and with this in an odd progression of hostile duels the world is seemingly tossed back into an era of dueling clans, crime families, and of course secret societies bent on using the spirits of this game for their own personal gain. While these differences are ignored in the academies there is no denying the differences among the students. This story in particular is about two boys, best friends since childhood on their way to making their own names known though this game. Both in their own way have high expectations upon them, one the heir of the most powerful Dueling Clan among the 21 types. The other, the younger brother of the current Duel Monsters World Champion. Both will go though hardships against other students, other duelists, and even themselves. The question remains if both can live the normal life they wish to live.[/spoiler] [Spoiler=The Soul Link System] The Soul Link is an experimental system allowing a Duelist to synchronize their soul with their selected Duel Monster, This is said to be able to allow a duelist to view the best combinations possible, however it has been known to cause “real damage” to duelists and is greatly discouraged among students, however this is usually practiced in the Duel Underworld Tournaments to show a duelists resolve. [/spoiler] [Spoiler=Characters: (More will be added to as time goes on)] [Spoiler=Josep Zavara] Age: 16 Gender: Male Appearance: None as of yet Clan: Warrior/Dragon Deck: Six Samurai, Skilless Village(1st chapter only) Background: Son of former World Champion Kailos “the Shogun” Zavara of the Warrior Duelist Clan and to Maira Zavara, a member of the Dragon Duelist Clan. He’s the kid that was forced to go to high Society parties but didn’t like it at all, his whole life he’s enjoyed doing things on his own and would prefer to have a normal life. When it comes to daily life he is to be proper, when it comes to matters about the family he is to be the prime example of a Warrior Duelist, so when he duels is when he can truly be himself. Personality: His personality when it comes to business is easily described as apathetic, having no care for politics or the high stature of society he is supposed to represent. His true personality is that of a Hyperactive Knucklehead who simply enjoys living life. Those who know him best can describe him to be a lot like Judai Yuki whom Josep has always looked up to.[/spoiler] [Spoiler=Daniel Starlight] Age: 16 Gender: Male Appearance: None as of yet Clan: Warrior Deck: Elemental Heroes Background: a member of the Warrior Dueling Clan’s subsection the “Elemental Heroes” is the deck commonly passed down in his family, however Daniel simply enjoyed seeing the accomplishments of his brother Adrian rather then honing his own skill. But when his brother disappeared by unknown circumstances Daniel was made heir to the families main deck. He wishes to find out what happened to his brother while also finding his brother’s 6 Ace Cards the “Natural Heroes”. Personality: Unlike his best friend he is a bit more refined and collected when it comes to his actions. While he has a light-hearted side it is not one that he shows often do to his mixed emotions about the game that possibly cost his brother’s life, though the last words his brother spoke to him have always remained in his heart.[/spoiler][/SPOILER] [Spoiler=Help] As stated there are many clans in “Type” alone, not counting those in “Attribute” so I ask anybody who reads this to help me in making characters and decks to be used in this Fanfic, It should be noted that I will accept most decks as long as they are not a “mixed” deck like “Frognarchs” “Lightsaber” or “Dragonwings” do to the arrangements in the story many of the decks I will accept will be 1 Archetype only. Even in the bustling city of Hikairin there seemed to be no real commotion going on. Well, with the exception of one youth simply trying to catch his bus stop…. “Crap Crap Crap…….why did my sis choose TODAY of all days to let me sleep in…..oh boy, there will be hell to pay if I miss the ceremony……or worse….if my dad finds out…it will most certainly be death by monkeys…..” The raven haired boy passed invisibly through the crowds walking the side paths and crossovers, yet his obnoxiously loud voice did catch the ear of just about everyone, leaving them to wonder just who in the world in this day an age monologues to themselves. The child could only be glimpsed at as he seemed to take every shortcut available among businessmen, little old ladies, and groups of schoolgirls as all were left bewildered by the flash of brown hair and a grey coat. “Okay, the hall should be just around this……” he had sprinted across a large portion of over 4 blocks with no sign of tiring, anxiousness in his voice as he looked over at every street sign in hopes of his destination, finally after moving along the business district he saw it, the Duel Arena of Hikairin City. “….Corner…wow, they really put out for just a Graduation Ceremony, better get in before it’s any later though, wouldn’t wanna miss my name getting called out.” He walked one more crosswalk slowly as he gazed at the large panels to the sides of the domed building, they were already advertising for next years WRGP in Neo Domino City, and the hype was apparent for all of the D-wheelers on the streets stuck at the traffic light. “heh, the WRGP, maybe someday……but for now I just have to graduate.” as he brushed off riding duels for now he looked at the main gardens to the side of the Stadium, such a big deal for some, yet this was just another Saturday for everyone else. “Why am I so worked up?” He was late anyway so it was best to simply take in the fresh air before he entered the building, on the way through the garden he could hear familiar sounds, birds chirping, the sound of the river going under the small bridge he was on, and the sound of a [url=http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Chimera_the_Flying_Mythical_Beast]Chimera the Flying Mythical Beast[/url] Slashing through Familiar Possessed - Wynn and dropping a young girl’s Life Point counter down to 0. The Duel was over but the girl was clearly upset. She had fallen on her knees her long white hair draping her in her sadness and tears were slowly forming on the corner of her eyes. The boys on the other side were already laughing at the poor girl, yelling taunts on how no one could win with a deck full of weak girl cards. “You should just quit the game Mina! You’ll never be able to beat us with that lame deck.” “Yes I will!” she answered back, her voice cracking at the thought that she may have been wasting her time with this deck. “I made this deck…..with all of my heart…..” it was a typical answer to those who loved dueling, but the boys responded negatively. “Your heart? Hey, we paid good money for these cards so there is no way we’re gonna lose to any cheap deck like that.” It was at this point that Mina felt a hand over her shoulder “you okay?” asked Josep, he wasn’t showing it but these guys were getting on his nerves, not only by picking on a younger kid, but also by making fun of the dueling style he always believed in. The young girl looked back at him, her amber eyes watery as she tried to stand nodding to Josep’s question, she took his hand and stood up, looking away sadly, mumbling something under her breath. ”they…cheated….” The boys seemed to be fed up, as if waiting for her. “Well, you gonna give us the card or not?” the “leader” said while tapping his foot impatiently. Josep looked over and gave them what seemed like a wholehearted smile. “ah so you guys played an ante…..” The little girl looked over at them and shouted “you guys forced me to play ante! I’m not giving you anything!!!” Afterwards the group of boys seemed to get rather angry. “What?! We won that card whether or not you wanted an ante, so just hand it over, it’s a waste in your hands anyway!” they stated as they were beginning to loom closer. “all righty then, I think I’ve seen enough.” Josep said as he walked in between Mina and the group of boys. “How about you guys just leave her alone? You won your duel and antes aren’t fun anyway…..” “Stay out of this! We’re getting what’s ours!” yelled one of them. “sheesh, looks like diplomacy won’t work on you guys, fine, how about this, another Ante duel…..but this time against me?” he asked nonchalantly, giving a small confident smirk. “Yeah Right! We got what we want, so just stay out of our way!” the leader answered back. “Oh, but you didn’t let me finish, It’ll be short, only 4000 LP , also I’ll be using her deck, and if you win, you can have two of my decks.” Mina gasped when she heard he would be using her deck, but Josep simply reached under his jacket and pulled out a card box, he left it on the ground with the top open and inside could be seen quite a large stack of cards. “So…whaddya say?” The leader was intrigued. “heh, fine, so if we win we get Mina’s rare card and this losers two decks, seems like an easy deal, what do we put up?” “Simple, you leave this girl alone….I’m sure she doesn’t want anything from you” Josep said, never losing his grin. “But…onii-chan, you’re gonna lose if you use my deck…..it’s no good….” She stated as she tugged on his jacket. “It’s okay, I can live with the loss if it happens, but I don’t want these guys bothering you…..and don’t call me onii-chan….it makes this a lil awkward for me…..” He had pulled his duel disk from his bag and had already attached it to his arm, simply waiting for Mina to lat him use her deck. “Okay….good luck Onii-chan” she said with no regard of the nervous sweat she was giving him. After a small debate on the other side the boys nodded and the leader activated his duel disk. “Fine, we can accept to that….we lose nothing and you lose everything, perfect deal…..so who goes first?” ‘Uhm…..I’m still looking at some of these cards, so you go first…..” Josep laughed nervously as he seemed to be getting adjusted to the deck. “….ugh….fine whatever, I draw then!” with a quick draw from his deck he fanned out the six cards in his hand and smiled a cocky grin “hah, this should be easy, but I‘ll be nice I summon Gazelle, King of [url=http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Gazelle_the_King_of_Mythical_Beasts]Mythical Beasts[/url] in attack position!(1500/1200) Then I’ll set two cards and end! “Awesome then,” Josep’s hand was placed on the top of the deck as he closed his eyes and took a deep breath. “Boku no turn….Draw!” his first draw was peculiar as it seemed to move with the sound of the wind, and he hadn’t even looked at his hand as he gave a smile. “Whoo! Let’s do this!” Mina was quite surprised at how this guy acted in a duel. [I]”it’s like he’s totally changed…..it’s weird, but he seems to be happy just standing there with a Duel Disk…..”[/I] “I’ll start out by summoning [url=http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Familiar-Possessed_-_Eria]Familiar Possessed - Eria, then I set a card and now, enter the Battle Phase! Eria! Take down Gazelle! Aqua Force!” Eria had appeared in a flash of light, twirling around as water circled around her, when she opened her eyes the water behind her took the shape of gagagigo, she looked over at the beast in front of her and as Josep called for the attack Gagagigo turned back into the form of water and shot out like a cannon towards Gazelle, however the other duelist wasn’t worried. “I activate my face down trap card! [Url=http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Horn_of_the_Phantom_Beast]Horn of the Phantom Beast![/url], with this my Gazelle will gain 800 attack!” the beast gained two large Golden horns and it roared as it’s power was beginning to grow. “as an added bonus, when my monster destroys one of yours I can also draw a card, so now my Gazelle will crush your little Charmer! Strike her down with your strength! (2300/1200)” the beast rammed into the water blast and was now running towards Eria herself. “as if I’d leave her unprotected, I activate my quick-play spell! [url=http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Shrink]Shrink![/url] Now this may only effect your Original ATK, but that will still drop your ATK to 1550! Meaning Eria can still cause Damage!” “What? You…..” Gazelle had reached Eria, but she simply moved out of the way and lifted her staff as the orb of water reappeared and lashed down on the beast as he exploded in an array of holographic particles. The damage then lowered the counter on his Duel Disk. “Gah! Fine, but its only 300 damage don’t act high and mighty!”(Leader’s LP: 3700) “of course not, but hey, I get to keep Eria on the field, heh heh. With that I end my turn.” Josep stood back, watching on as his opponent made a move, Eria and the water spinning around along side him. Turn 1 Results: Josep LP: 4000 Hand: 3 Monsters: Eria Spell/Traps: 1 face-down Leader’s LP: 3700 Hand: 3 Monsters: N/A Spell/Traps: 1 face-down “It’s my turn then! I draw!” as he began his draw one of his crew members sneezed, distracting Josep for a second. “Sorry about that he has allergies, the leader stated as he drew a card. “Now then I set a monster and a face-down card and end my turn.” Josep noted he was a bit calmer then on the previous turn but didn’t take it to mind, Mina however seemed a little ticked, but before she could say something Josep drew his next card. “Boku no turn, Draw! Now then, I set a card and have Eria attack your face down monster!” Eria sent Gagagigo once again but there was no resistance as the water blasted what seemed to be a multi-winged bird from the field. “interesting…but it looks like I’ll end my turn there…..” Josep noticed a few things on the field, but smiled and looked on at his opponent as if nothing was happening. Turn 2 Results: Josep LP: 4000 Hand: 3 Monsters: Eria Spell/Traps: 2 face-downs Leader’s LP: 3700 Hand: 3 Monsters: N/A Spell/Traps: 2 face-downs “My turn now! I Draw!” yet again another member sneezed, yet Josep chuckled, and that only gained him some funny looks. “What’s wrong with you?” “oh…nothing, nothing, go ahead and Draw…..” “Right….freak…” he drew his card and smirked, now then, I activate [Url=http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Monster_Reborn]Monster Reborn![/url] With that I can go ahead and summon my Gazelle back to the field from the grave, but he won’t stay for long cause I now tribute him for [Url=http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Phantom_Beast_Rock-Lizard]Phantom Beast Rock Lizard![/url] now do you see what kind of strengths our rare cards have?” A Lizard appeared and then began growing as chunks of Rock bombarded it’s body as a type of armor (2200/2000) “hmm…..” Josep looks over at Mina and smiles. “Should I do something about him? Nah…I’ll see how this goes.” Mina couldn’t even say a word before he spoke, she was wondering what he was doing, and whether or not he was crazy, but she couldn’t help but have trust in him as well. “I don’t know what you’re smirking about, but I’ll have you remember you destroyed my [url=http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Phantom_Beast_Cross-Wing]Phantom Beast Cross Wing[/url] who when he is in the grave he increases the ATK of all my Phantom Beast monsters by 300, but now I’ll have my phantom beast(2500/2000) attack your little spell caster!” the Large Beast rammed into Eria as she burst apart in front of Josep, it made him feel a lil upset. “Heck, if I had known Eria would have gone out like that I wouldn’t have let you summon that thing…..” “Oh well, not only does your Eria get crushed, you take 650 damage from her and 500 extra damage from my Rock Lizards effect!” The beast lifted his arm and shot a large Stone at Josep as his counter fell by 1150. “Now then I end my turn!”(Josep’s LP:2850) “heh, all righty that was well played, and now I know what you can pull, no holding back anymore! Boku no turn, Draw!” now then, I go ahead and activate my Spell card [url=http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Summoner%27s_Art]Summoner’s Art![/url], with that I can go ahead and add 1 normal monster from my deck, now then, I add the [url=http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Dark_Magician]Dark Magician![/url] This was the card you wanted right? Well now you get to see it in action, cause I activate my second spell [url=http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Ancient_Rules] Ancient Rules![/url] With this I can Special Summon a lv 5 or higher Normal Monster, so here he is the Dark Magician!(2500/2100)” The proud Sorcerer came forth with his arms crossed and a smile on his face. “He’s impressive, and he should belong to us….so I’ll get rid of him as a threat right now, I activate [url=http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Trap_Hole]Trap Hole![/url] Now your monster will be going down to the depths of he….” the reverse card raised up but was suddenly stopped. “What?” “I activate my reverse card [url=http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Seven_Tools_of_the_Bandit] Seven Tools of the Bandit![/url], sure I pay 1000 LP but it will help me pay for the services of the master Trap disarmer!” a thief appears from behind the card holding the mechanism for the Trap Hole. He gives a sly look and an OK to the Dark Magician as the Trap vanishes and he jumps away in the trees. (Josep’s LP:1850) “You may still have that face down but I won’t risk it I activate [url=http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Dark_Magic_Attack]Dark Magic Attack![/url] With this I can go ahead and destroy all of your Spells and Traps. The Wizard lifts his staff and fires a powerful blast of magic at the face-downs left. “and now I can summon my [url=http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Familiar-Possessed_-_Wynn]Familiar Possessed Wynn![/url] This places me with two monsters to your one!” “Heh, does it matter? My Rock Lizard is as strong as your Magician, you would stand no chance unless you destroy my monster with an effect, but of course, since I’m so kind, I’ll warn you, when Rock Lizard is destroyed by an effect you take 2000 damage!” he was close to laughing out loud along with his posse, but he was still unnerved by the fact that Josep seemed to still be enjoying the duel.. “will you stop smiling!” “Why? This has been such a fun handicap duel….” Josep said as he got ready for battle. “Handicap? What are you talking about?” they all asked nervously, none of them able to hide the fact that he was right. “now then, Dark Magician! Attack his Phantom Beast Rock Lizard!” without hesitation the sorcerer raised his staff and shot a rapid bolt of Black Magic, Rock Lizard responded by stopping the blast with it’s claw as it slowly walked over holding the energy blast back. “Quick Play! Open! [url=http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Rush_Recklessly] Rush Recklessly![/url]With this my Dark Magician gains a grand power boost as he fires a more powerful Blast to back up the original as it pushes Rock Lizard back. “Gah! My Rock Lizard….dammit…..” the Phantom Beast finally lost step as he was overpowered and chipped away by the blast of darkness until nothing was left but the small lizard which hurried away and went up the tree nearby.(Leader’s LP:3000) “But it’s not over! You have to remember the very pretty Wynn is still able to attack!” Wynn simply looked away embarrassed at being called pretty but the wind spirit kept flying around her, once Josep said attack she lifted her wand and it became a powerful winged Dragon that rushed and hit the leader straight on. “ahhh…you…..” you could hear the spite in his voice, he wasn’t about to lose to a girl’s deck, but what really had him angry was that this guy was still so happy looking. (Leader’s LP:1150) “If you remember, this cutie over here is the monster that you defeated to beat Mina, but this is where I use her to take you down!, I end, go ahead and use your handicap, draw 2 cards like you have been these last few turns.” Not one word was said in spite, when he said the handicap was fun, Josep was not lying, and that really irked the group leader. Turn 3 Results: Josep LP: 1850 Hand: 0 Monsters: Wynn, Dark Magician Spell/Traps: N/A Leader’s LP: 1150 Hand: 2 Monsters: N/A Spell/Traps: N/A “You aren’t getting that chance! I’m going to make sure you can’t get to me! Now then, I activate Tribute to the doomed so I’ll send a [url=http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Phantom_Beast_Thunder-Pegasus]Phantom Beast Thunder Pegasus[/url] to get rid of your Dark Magician! Then I’ll summon a second Gazelle! His attack goes up by 300 but I won’t be taking damage next turn anyway thanks to my Thunder Pegasus’ effect! I’ll end!” “then if I’m correct, the fact that your trying to keep Gazelle on the field means you probably want to summon that Chimera…..looks like I have to finish this turn then, Boku no turn, Draw!….” Josep didn’t look at the card, but he instantly knew that this was probably the funniest way he could win. “Mina….your deck is really lucky, your heart was really in it to protect your monsters, but it can also be used to do make way, I activate my Spell Card! [url=http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Fissure]Fissure![/url] It’s a really underplayed card that destroys one of the weakest monster on the opponent’s field but since you only have 1 Gazelle is taken off the field!” The floor under Gazelle cracks and eventually it can no longer support it’s weight as he falls and disappears in the crevice. “Wynn! Attack directly and end the duel!” Wynn Lifts her staff the winds forming around her body and appears in front of the leader ,with a swift wave of her wand the wind misses but her staff hit him on the head lowering his counter to 0. As it did Josep lifted his hand and pointed two fingers at his opponent. “that was a fun duel! Next time you might wanna hide you double draw with something better then a sneeze, or better yet, just duel normally, it’s more fun that way.” Turn 4 Results: Josep LP: 1850 Hand: 0 Monsters: Wynn, Spell/Traps: N/A Leader’s LP: 0 Hand: 1 Monsters: N/A Spell/Traps: N/A “you…how did you win?” they were all confused, the cards he had used weren’t rare with the exception of the Dark Magician, yet they still lost. “I don’t really know, I’m just lucky I guess, but I do know that I believed in each draw cause I know Mina gave her all to build this deck, now if I remember, the promise was that you guys would leave her alone.“ He deactivated the duel disk and tossed it in the air as it slid back into his open backpack with unnatural skill, causing them to run off quite scared. “uh….okay….” He then walked over and picked up his own decks, looking over to Mina who was a little awestruck as well. “Thanks a lot Mina, couldn’t have won this one without you.” he had given the deck back and she seemed to have trouble speaking. “Thank you….Onii-chan….” she looked away a little red-faced “It’s a little weird that you call me onii-chan…..” he stated nervously as he heard the bell for the Graduation Ceremony commencing. “Oh boy I’m late!” as he ran the little girl finally stated. “You never told me your Name!” she looked on as he was already pretty far away but she was glad that he at least turned back to speak “My name is Josep Zavara!
