[u][b]Mechanics of Exceed Summoning:[/b][/u]

[*]Like regular Effect Monsters, Excess Monsters go in the deck and are summoned from the hand.
[*]Excess Monsters cannot be Special Summoned to the field from the hand or deck, and can only be Special Summoned from the Graveyard or the Removed from Play zone if they have been successfully Exceed Summoned first.
[*]To Exceed Summon an Excess Monster you must release a number of monsters on the field with combined levels equal to the Level of the Excess Monster. Additionally, all monsters released must have the same Level as each other, and at least 2 monsters must be Released. For a Level 8 Excess Monster you must release either 2 Level 4 monsters, 4 Level 2 monsters or 8 Level 1 monsters.
[*]An Excess Summon is considered to be a Special Summon. If that Excess Summon would be negated you can send all Released monsters to the graveyard instead of Overlaying them to prevent the Summon from being negated.
[*]When an Excess Monster is Exceed Summoned, the monsters released for it are Overlaid on that card. For the purposes of a real duel this means that the released monsters are stacked underneath the Excess Monster while it remains on the field.
[*]When an Excess Monster would be removed from the field by a card effect or by battle you can remove from play 1 Overlaid Monster on that card to prevent that Excess Monster from being removed. If an Excess Monster would be removed for a cost you cannot prevent that cost with Overlaid Monsters.

[*]Everyone will look at your cards, and rate them appropriately. The better rates we see, the better our rates as well. So put as much effort into your cards as you can.
[*]We will look through as many threads as we can, and post our opinion on those cards in this thread. So if we miss any, PM us or discuss in this thread.

[*]When listing the Excess Monsters, they are to be treated as a Subtype and you may take liberty in coloring the card however you feel right. However this will not affect your score.
[*]You do not list everything that an Excess Monster is required to be summoned. All the rules above are to be implied unless you specifically write it down yourself.

[*]+1 rep for every Card we enjoy.
[*]Various Signature Trophies, with your names on them and titles for it.

So, if I am reading this right, this is pretty much one mega big contest to get Custom Cards get the hang of making Excess Monsters / get to know them better? If so, I. Am. In. Might even make a new Archetype just for the occasion. Also, I never knew Excess monsters could only be (Special Summoned) through the Graveyard and / or Removed From Play Zone. That puts a damper on things.

And also, may I ask, who are 'we'? I know everyone is going to be rating, but when you wrote we in the second point under 'How This Will Work', does this mean there is some sort of staff also rating the cards? And if so, are we aloud to register or something to be part of this 'staff'?

It says that they CANNOT BE summoned from the grave or rfp.
Staff will be decided on a participant basis (meaning you must be active and already have won an award to be considered).

And yes it's a Mega CC Contest as you called it.

Ah I see. And sorry for the misread there. Must have been skimming to fast.

Yet another few dumb questions.
1) Can you get awards outside of getting good reviews on Excess Cards you make? (Examples: Positive Attitude, Good Reviews, etc.)
2) How long will this go for / last?

I feel so dumb for asking once again....but what 'chances'? To become part of the judges / staff? And I think it'd be best for the 'Tournament' to continue until your Birthday / Last Day of the Year. Sorry, but I'm not really liking how this is considered to be a 'Tournament'. Sounds so....competitive. Perhaps Event?

Event then haha. But it should be competitive, Custom Cards needs a little blood flowing. You're basically waging war against each other xD. And it's unlikely raters will become part of the staff, I want the judges to take a physical part in the card creation process.

Chances for an award, but there will be a few for raters I assure you.

I'm pretty sure they aren't sent to the Graveyard. As soon as the monsters Excess Summoned, the monsters used to Excess Summon it I believe are immediately placed underneath it / Overlaid. I apologize in advance if I am wrong.

You should find some images fast, or else I'm pretty sure your in for a Lock. You can always go to Written Cards and do a written form of your Excess Cards though if you can't find any suitable images for the cards. That's what I plan on doing later on when I find the time.

Your opponent's field perhaps? Most likely though that Excess Monsters can't use your opponent's monsters for their Summon, and even if they do, the odds of your opponent to get out 3-4 Level 1's on their own is highly unlikely.
