DARKPLANT RISING
I got this idea while rereading Deltora Quest. The cards tell a story of a scientist named Bellum, stranded in the Dismal World - a vast, wild universe of monsters. Determined to return to our world, Bellum goes on a daring adventure through the world, to record the beasts and their nature, as well as find a way to arrive home safely.
If you are reading this note it must be that I am the luckiest man ever in two worlds, or your fate is as terribly wretched as mine. My name is Bellum. I was a scientist on my planet working on dimensional matters when I was swept into the gates to a different world; now I live here in this desolate land where vicious monsters devour the weaker, and no land is safe. This note you are reading contains the secrets of the Dismal World I had accidentally ventured into.

Notes of Bellum: They are breed of mystical creatures living in the swamps that frequently pop up around in this forest, and I am yet to discover much about their hidden nature. They attack unwary victims with vicious claws and agility that mismatch its serpentine form... While small, they are dangerous.

Notes of Bellum: Today was horrible. I was out in the Dismal Fields, hunting for the deers, since they are the only real normal beasts around here, when these THINGS came shooting in great numbers from the sky, blowing flame menacingly, snatching up the fattest of the creatures...it was only by sheer luck that I did not meet the same fate, for there was a cavern of stone near. I wonder if any part of this land is monster-free.

Notes of Bellum: Fleeing from the dragons in the fields, I ran into a cavern. I realized there was something glowing in the far end. It was by pure curiosity that I walked over and tried to observe...it was a foolish act. The slime-like beast releasing the glow was hideous, and emitting a vile stench. A deer walked past me as though the smell was marvelous, and stepped too far; the next second it was pulled into the muck, and it disappeared into the darkness.

Notes of Bellum: The wasps came without warning when I was resting under a tree after a successful hunt. When I heard the buzzing of their wings they were already close; I ran for dear life as they relentlessly pursued. In the end they retreated as I jumped into a lake, but I was still panting and terrified. The next day, I found several remains of beasts sprawled upon the ground. In their bones were marks that looked suspiciously like needle holes...

Notes of Bellum: In winter, these Dismal Lands become unthinkably bitter cold...Along with the snow came another breed of deadly creatures to take the place of the those who had gone to hibernation. This breed of dragons cast nests in the mountains near my hideout, and when I climbed in search of food now that the deers were now gone, I saw their chicks screeching for food...I hope it is not my flesh, for the dragons are large enough to breed on the greatest of beasts.

Notes of Bellum: Now that the long winter has gone, the old terrors have returned, and along with them came these. To my delight they were relatively small, and even more better, they were too weak to capture even the large deers. They mainly feed on the juveniles, and they were so weak I was able to shoot one bown with an arrow. Its flesh was, when roast, extremely delicious. This must be a gift from god who has finally given mercy upon me.

Notes of Bellum: That day, I chased off one of the Gust Drakes into the deserts. I managed to shoot it down, and I devoured its flesh, leaving only bones. When I had turned back and was heading home, I heard grinding sounds behind...turning back, I saw the hideous sight. A devil with two mouths was gnawing on the bones, crushing them apart, tongues slithering across to scrape off the last bits of flesh. I was so terrified I nearly returned the drake.

Notes of Bellum: Today the Hunter Dragons found me. I mindlessly ran into the marshes to escape, and thank god, they stopped the pursuit. Then I heard slithering sounds near, and drawing my stone knife, glancing around, I waited. The worm eventually appeared out of the marshes, hissing menacingly, its tongue flickering in and out in anger...it was an unforgettable sight. If I was less careful I could have been dead.

Notes of Bellum: I can never explain the relief and shock I felt. There must be a civilization quite near, a civilization just as industrialized as my home country! I look forward to the day when I return home safely with my great discoveries. I shall change the logic of science!

Notes of Bellum: One day in summer I saw these things clambering across the rocky slopes of the mountains. They jumped and climbed and performed amusing acrobats, and the stress of living here was relieved a bit. ...That was all wrecked when they showed their true faces by ruthlessly slaughtering the dragon chicks in their nests.

Notes of Bellum: A month or so ago, when I was bathing in the clear, shallow isolated lakes where I knew from research that no vicious monsters dwelled, several of these swam closer and circled around me. They were small and ancient-looking, if not adorable. Since that day I have came here every day to greet him.

Notes of Bellum: The gigantic snails of the woods were few, yet terribly dangerous. Several times I saw them crawling among the forest ground; I hid behind a tree. As I watched, the snail shot green saliva from its mouth that caught a giant beast off guard...and its heads bent down to feast on its paralyzed pray. If that is not all, their seemingly fleshy heads are unthinkably hard to penetrate, as shown when a clawed beast ambushed foolishly.

Notes of Bellum: I believe I already mentioned about the Wicked Scythes. These are their brothers which evolved on land rather than in the swamps. Though less swift, they are much larger and equipped with unthinkable strength; it will attempt to slash down trees in its way to get to its pray. More than once I saw them prowling near my hut.

Notes of Bellum: I see them in the largest of numbers lumbering innocently everywhere. They seem to be in the bottom of the circle if Dismal life, and their meat is edible, and contains some fat. I hunt them most, still looking forward to the day of escape.

Notes of Bellum: These may be the strongest beasts I have yet seen in the Dismal World. Simply horrifying, a Macabre Behemoth, with multiple legs and a wide, gaping mouth, swallowed a Hunter Dragon whole...I only had a glimpse of it, but I believe it can run fast if the need arises. The wasteland area where they live - right near the fields - are not to be ventured into, no matter what you are fleeing from.

Notes of Bellum: Yet another form of Scythes was found today to my surprise. Perhaps these are the most versatile of all the species here. But the thing that surprised me was not just that in today's most wonderful case. Its pray was a humanoid beast! A humanoid beast, I tell you! Though definately dead and already ripped to shreds when the beast was gone, it gave me undying hope - there must be a civilization near.

Notes of Bellum: In the fields were a patch of giant stones, and skulking there were these horrible insects. They slashed on its pray with three metallic claws and ripped apart the limestone-colored flesh with its mutated mouth.

Notes of Bellum: In the mountains was a singular volcano, still active at times. I headed there to search for more beasts... and found this. The Collector Spiders are, to my relief, harmless against the living despite their abnormal size. However they scavenge upon corpses near, and I believe that if the need arises, their shining tales can deliver venomous death blows...I saw a Hunter Dragon being literally "backfired" while resting near.

Notes of Bellum: I have never seen their adult forms, but they seem to be larva of some giant insect. They travel along the lands, eating all greenery in their paths. To my relief they are herbivores...though they may squish unwary creatures under their fat bodies. It is better to observe from far away, it seems.

Notes of Bellum: I saw an ancient monument in the land on the other side of the mountains from its peaks, and I rushed near to see if any people still lived. Instead of men I found these - native to these areas on the other side, the Slithering Wyrms could have been too dangerous for the old people here to live safely. Or perhaps was it another reason...? I shall go on with my search.

Notes of Bellum: It is here that I end my journey, for I have finally reached my destination after five years of misery and personal conflict. The natives of this world were very kind to me, and knew of many secrets; they even owned a Dimensional Rift that can transport me back to the original world I had forever dreamed for. As I take nothing but this note full of wonders and discoveries to depart this world of dangers, I feel I have learned the true meaning and importance of this single, fragile life.
All pics taken from Magic Deck Vortex, so don’t get mad, Magic the Gathering fans. Of course they are made for the pleasure of reading, not playing with, and I know most are underpowered as shown with a supportless BEWD and Frostosaurus.
Pepperyena
Excuse me? Underpowered? I believe you mean overpowered. Eitherway, this isn't really... Realistic, you know what I mean? It isn't a card you'd use in duels or anything.
~D¡ScOrD~
Overpowered or underpowered, these are amazing. Once I got the hang of the names, they were humorous. And in reading them, I got a glimpse of a fantastic world that may or may not exist... Excellent work, friend. 10/

DARKPLANT RISING
I believe you mean overpowered.
Vanillas can hardly become overpowered. Chille is Frostosaurus, Dibrut is Genetic Werewolf (or something of that sort), and Grusum/Fainalle are BEWD. None are commonly used in tournaments, are they? Well, maybe this should go to Any Other Cards... Thanks, all of you guys who gave comments.

MarbleZone
Brilliant concept. These weren't made to be overpowered, underpowered, meta or anti-meta and shouldn't be rated as such; they're meant to be something new and interesting, and you pulled it off very nicely. Hats off. As a side note, I see no reason to move this to Any Other Cards; the Gagagigo line exists, and the reason most Vanillas are made nowadays is for flavour, so this is perfectly fine in RC. Master White
He was trying to undermined the fact that a lot of vanillas are used and played nowadays, as he don't like certain vanilla monsters, as I know I do. I just don't think he likes vanilla's much, not anything against you personally.... Anyhow, these are actually really great vanilla's, if there were real, I'd probably spending half of my time trying to find them b/c of how cool card stories relate together, and that I'm a "Gigobyte" guy. So, keep it up, we need a place for vanilla's.

legendhiro
cool. the story is great. they aren't really playable, as has been said multiple times (DM/BEWD have tons of support and are barely playable nowadays), but the story that you have created to be told through these cards is quite interesting. i'm only surprised that we never see the humanoid people living in this word in card form. either way, 10/10 for creativity's sake. judedudemude
i like the idea of normal monsters that tell a story and have spells, traps, tunners monster and, sychros monsters work with the story line thing (and back you up while you are in a duel) but you totally mess it up plus alot of your dudes are op some one lock this topic because this topic should not be in the realistic forum

I have followed the 2000, 2600 and 3000 limits, therefore I believe they aren't really OP. No, don't start on the BEWD should be banned part. Why did I mess it up? Tell me. I might as well actually fix them.
judedudemude
i like how you tell the story but i notice that you put a note of bewd before you contuie the story this set reminds me of the yugioh 5d where misty vs akiza misty tell a story using her cards try watching that it will help with this great idea of yours
