Darj
So, this is an archetype I developed months ago. I call them the "Unknowns" and is composed by only a few cards. But still, I think a Deck composed of them + support from original cards would work well, while I think in more cards that fit their concept, if I ever decide to dedicate Time to it. Anyways, here is a description of what are they, and how they work. Unknown "Unknowns" is an archetype that focuses on flipping cards in the Graveyard face-down, or flipping them face-up to activate effects. While face-down, cards in the Graveyard cannot be targeted by regular cards as there are no currently cards that target face-down cards, except "Unknown" support cards that will be posted here. In addition, face-down monsters in the Graveyard will have their characteristics (Type, Attribute, ATK, etc.) ignored, or "concealed", in the same way as face-down cards on the field. So, for example, you cannot recover face-down WATER monsters with "Salvage", or you cannot Summon "Dark Armed Dragon" if you have 3 DARK monsters, but at least 1 is face-down. As you can see, with their new concept the "Unknowns" have huge control over the Graveyards, and being currently the only archetype that flips cards face-down in the Graveyard, it's the only set that benefits from doing so. The members are both Spellcaster-Type and Dragon-Type monsters, and with different elements: - The Spellcasters focus on flipping cards in the Graveyard face-down, or sending cards directly face-down to the Graveyard; their levels range from 1-5 - The Dragons focus on flipping cards in the Graveyard face-up to activate their effects, and they gain powers depending on the number of face-down cards in your Graveyard; their levels range from 6+. "Unknown - Nordegurd the Absolute Fear" is currently the Boss monster of the "Unknowns", and was designed after "Dark Armed Dragon".

Once per turn, flip 1 face-up card in either player's Graveyard face-down. If this card would be destroyed by battle, flip 1 face-down card in your opponent's Graveyard face-up instead. When this card is removed from the field, you can flip 1 face-up card in your Graveyard face-down. She can protect herself with her effect, or gradually increase your number of face-down card in your Graveyard. Once per turn, you can send the top card of your Deck to the Graveyard face-down to increase this card's ATK by 400 until the End Phase. When a card in either player's Graveyard is targeted by a Spell Card, Trap Card or Effect Monster's effect your opponent controls, you can flip that card face-down instead. Level 4 mandatory beatstick, and also generates face-down cards in the Graveyard. Her second effect can be annoying for your opponent, as he/she won't be able to target cards in his/her Graveyard: Cards like "Monster Reborn" and "Dark Eruption" will simply lose their targets. When this card is Normal Summoned, flip all cards in your Graveyard face-down. When a card is sent to the Graveyard, is it sent face-down. When this card is removed from the field, cards flipped face-down by this card's effect remain face-down. One of the key cards of the "Unknowns": She can flip a large amount of cards face-down and keeps sending cards face-down. With 2000 ATK, she can be Special Summoned with "Magician's Circle". Actually, I initially made this card alone, but then developed more cards revolving face-down card in the Graveyard, and the "Unknowns" were born.

While there are 5 or more face-down cards in your Graveyard, you can discard 1 monster to Special Summon this card from your Graveyard. During each of your Standby Phases, by flipping 2 face-down cards in your Graveyard face-up, neither player can activate Spell or Trap Cards until the End Phase. When this card is attacked, you can flip any number of face-down cards in your Graveyard face-up to reduce the attacking monster's ATK by 200 for each card flipped face-up. In reference to "Cold Wave", this monster prevents players from activating Spell and Traps. Since "Unknowns" don't have many Spell/Trap destruction cards yet, Llanuk will have an important role on the field. You can Special Summon this card from your Graveyard by flipping 3 face-down cards in your Graveyard face-up while you control no monsters. Any monster this card destroys by battle is sent to the Graveyard face-down. Once per turn, you can flip 5 face-down cards in your Graveyard face-up and activate the effect(s) of 1 of those cards. Quick beatstick with an added creative effect: It can activate the effects of a face-down card, skipping its costs. This will let you recycle any powerful card you may have sent to the Graveyard. Also, its effect of sending the destroyed monsters face-down to the Graveyard practically negates the effects of monsters that activate in the Graveyard, such as "Sangan", "Masked Dragon", etc. This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by flipping 1 face-down card in your Graveyard face-up while you have exactly 7. You can remove from play 3 face-down cards from your Graveyard to send 1 card on the field to the Graveyard face-down. While there are 5 or more face-down cards in your Graveyard, this card is unaffected by the effects of your opponent's Trap Cards. As mentioned above: the Boss monster. It can either get rid of up to 2 cards on the field, or keep it's Trap immunity for attacking without fear.

Discard 1 card. Select 3 face-up cards from the Graveyard(s) and flip them face-down. Basic card that generates face-down cards in the Graveyard. It is also useful for disabling opponent's card in the Graveyard, hence the cost of 1 card. Activate only when an opponent's monster declares an attack while there are 3 or more face-down cards in your Graveyard. Destroy the attacking monster and send it to the Graveyard face-down. "Unknown" version of "Sakuretsu Armor". Special Summon 1 face-down monster from your Graveyard in face-down Attack Position. You cannot reveal that monster to your opponent. When this card is removed from the field, destroy that monster. When that monster is destroyed, destroy this card. The mandatory revival Trap that most archetypes have. This card, however, has an interesting difference: The summoned monster remains hidden to the opponent, so he/she won't know what he/she will be attacking. Activate only while having 3 or more face-down cards in your Graveyard. Select one face-up monster your opponent controls. It cannot attack, cannot be Tributed or used for a Synchro Summon and its effect(s) is negated. If it is removed from the field, destroy this card. "Unknown" version of "Fiendish Chain".
EDIT: Rulings of face-down cards in the Graveyard and some "Unknown" cards: -As mentioned above, face-down cards in the Graveyard are treated as "face-down cards", and they cannot be selected by cards that don't target specifically face-down cards in the Graveyard. Example: You cannot select a face-down Trap Card in your Graveyard with the effect of "Mask of Darkness". -Face-down monsters in the Graveyard have no name, type, attribute, ATK, DEF, Level until they are flipped face up. -You are able to see your face-down cards in the Graveyard, in the same way you can check your Set cards in the field at anytime. -Unlike with face-up cards in the Graveyard, your opponent cannot check the face-down cards in your Graveyard and you cannot check theirs. So, for example, if your opponent activates "Monster Reborn", he/she cannot check the face-down cards in your Graveyard to Special Summon a currently face-down monster you may have. -If a card whose effect activates in the Graveyard is sent to it face-down, its effect(s) won't be activated, as it will be simply sent as a "face-down card". Example: "Sangan", "Geartown" and "Shining Angel" sent face-down to the Graveyard will have their effects negated. -"Encounter with the Unknown": You can declare an attack with the face-down Attack Position monster Summoned by this card's effect. In that case, the monster will be flipped face-up during the Substep 2 of the Damage Step. Bahamut - Envoy of the End
These are awesome and deserve more comments. Really good idea that has been well executed with strategy in mind. The S/T support is useful and not full of useless clutter, they just do their job. Think Karlin is unbalanced personally, but I really like these.
Zeppeli Gyro Supreme
Huh... Well, this is sort of like the Purgatory archetype I made in the written section, except they rely on the already existing mechanic of face-down removed cards, and in that case they are literally untouchable cards. Though the Purgatory archetype isn't completely based on this. Can you look at your own face-down cards in your Grave? And if not, it would be sort of hard to use some of the "and flip those cards back face-up" effects, since you have so many other face-down cards. Darj
Well, you would be able to see your face-down cards in the Graveyard, in the same way you can check your Set cards in the field at anytime. However, your opponent cannot check the face-down cards in your Graveyard and you cannot check theirs. So, for example, your opponent won't be able to target a face-down card of your with "Monster Reborn", because as a face-down card, not only he/she cannot know if it is a monster or a Spell/Trap Card. I guess I will have to add some rulings in the first post regarding face-down cards in the Graveyard.
Zeppeli Gyro Supreme
EDIT: I see. Well, I get the point now. And yeah, rulings would help.
