Matt Bahamut vs Future Paradise - Finished

Recommended Posts

Going to make this my last 1on1 for a little while to focus on other areas, would like one last challenge though so: First Lv4 or higher member to come up with interesting requirements will be my opponent. My current record stands at 3:1, and 1 result pending.

Also starting this to try out a method of prizes: what I'm thinking is we make this the best of 5 votes, and your prize is decided on the percentage of the vote the winner gets:

Win 3:2 recieve 1 rep and 10 points

Win 4:1 recieve 1 rep and 25 points

Win 5:0 recieve 1 rep and 50 points

Future Paradise is my formidable opponent. Requirements are to make a Lv5 DARK monster that effects LIGHT monsters in some manner.

[spoiler= Matt Bahamut's Card]

Lore: This card cannot be Special Summoned. When this card is Tribute Summoned, the Tribute must be a LIGHT monster. As long as this card is face-up on the field, all LIGHT monsters become DARK, their ATK and DEF is halved, and their effects are negated. This cards ATK and DEF become equal to half the combined ATK and DEF of all LIGHT monsters on the field effected by this card. If this cards ATK or DEF exceeds 3000, destroy this card.

[spoiler=Future Paradise's Card]

Lore: This monster can only be Summoned by Tributing 2 LIGHT monsters from your side of the field. While this monster is on the field, LIGHT monster's ATK and DEF are halved. If a LIGHT monster is Summoned with more ATK than this monster, increase your Life Points by the ATK difference. If this monster is destroyed by the effects of a LIGHT monster, destroy that monster also.

Please give your reasons for voting. Thank you.

Challenge accepted, not because it's the most interesting of requirement mind, but because of the calibre of opponent.

My card is just going up, I'm fairly happy with how this one turned out because it was a tricky one to get to balance, it might still not be, who knows :huh: . Judging will begin when Paradise gives us his card, as always you must post a good reason when you cast your vote.

May the best card win.

1 vote for future paradise!

1 for bahamut

i vote 4 future paradise.

his card fits together moar

Not a single one of these constitutes a good vote. Give a good reason as to why you vote. newfie1, yours is close to a vote, just add a little more reasoning (even better pic will fit with this).

Anyway, Matt's card seems a little UP'd to me, your going to have to give up a lot in order (half the ATK of all LIGHT turned DARK monsters) to give this card a little. That, plus once it passes a certain point it destroys itself...not very useful at first glance. However, it is very creative and unique and it might have a spot in a Chaos deck. Future Paradise's card has a couple of OCG errors and the second effect is useless (in order for it to work, your opponent would have to summon a LIGHT monster with 5300+ ATK...no card like that exists), but it seems more playable to me than Matt's card. I'm not exactly sure who wins over who at this point, they both have their positives and negatives...alright, then, I vote for Matt's because of its creativity.

First time I forget to put 'voters must give reasons' in the first post and look what happens. And there was me getting all excited by the amount of responses.

DTW and moppmopp votes are not counted until further explaination is given. You are able to recast your vote if you give reason.

Will count newfie's as I can see what his reason is, thank you to him and FTW. 2-1

Vote goes to Matt. I like the mechanics of that card and how the effects work together. The build-in limit works well balance-wise, and overall, it's a pretty creative card. Future's card is by no means bad, but a little inferior in terms of creativity.

Well that means I've won, originally I would have wanted 1 more vote to determine the winning margain and thus the prize.

But since it's taken a while to get these votes as it is, there's little point hanging around for 1 more so I'll waive the last bit.

Thank you to all who voted and to Future Paradise for his admirable challenge.

Contest finished, waiting for Smesh to unofficially lock for his table.
