Across the Chessboard [Not Started / Accepting]

[The Warden]

Consider the chessboard. We see it as a mundane thing, with 32 black squares and 32 white squares interlocked in a checkered pattern. We move our big clunky chess pieces across it in order to capture the opposing king in a checkmate. And when all is well and done, we put the pieces back in their original places until the next game. But what about the board? Do we even regard those squares closely? You don't, well I'd tell you to take a closer look. There is more here than it seems.

 

You see, what we see as little squares are in fact enormous terrains, marked with their corresponding letters and numbers. The brave forces of Black & White fight bravely, sacrificing countless lives in their eternal struggle. In chess, the kings are weak and need to be defended at all costs. In reality they are powerful warriors who can take down most enemies with ease. The only equal to a king is, of course, another king. All across the board the kings fight, until either side makes it to the opposing castle. Then, they retreat for a day of rest, until the next, where the fighting begins all over again. But, during the day of rest when the side of Black won, the kings of Black & White vanished. Naturally each side accused the other of foul play, so now a brave battalion of each side will go out to save their king. Which side do you choose?

 

::Rules::

1. Advanced RP rules apply here, no short posting.

2. In the start, there can only be two of the main pieces for each side. If they're taken, you get to be a pawn.

3. This RP requires dedication, if you aren't dedicated, don't even bother posting an app, just hit the back button.

4. There is one male and one female for the special classes. The same applies to the pawns, four are male, the other female.

5. The Queen Class is strictly out of bounds unless a pawn makes it to other side. But beware, a pawn with aspiration for a queen get killed quickly.

6. Just to say, all but the Rook classes can actually be considered human.

7. If you read this rule, you will know to put spaces between each part of the app.

 

::Classes::

King - The King is the mightiest warrior of each side. They can pummel to death any specilist class and pawns don't even stand a chance. The kings of both sides have vanished mysteriously however.

 

Queen - The Queen is the second mightiest class. She fights wit powerful magic and her bladed staff can take the life of many enemies. The bladed staff is like the female Bishop's, except that the Queen's has wings at the top of the staff, angel wings for White, demon wings for Black. The current Queens are guarding their castles from intruders.

 

Bishop - The Bishop is an interesting piece, as the male variants are highly aggresive, pummeling enemies with their enormous maces. Most pawns get their head's smashed in by it. The female Bishop however, it a caster, with a bladed staff similar to their queen's. Their magic is dependent on side, the White posses holy magic, whilst the Black have sinister shadow magic. (1 Female White available, 1 Female Black available)

 

Knight - Knights are armoured warriors who fight on robotic steads, which can be reduced in size so as to be carried through hazardous terrains. Both gender of Knights have a lance for saddled combat and a broadsword for when they are on foot. Female knights tend to be more agile. (2 White available, 2 Black available)

 

Rooks - Where can I even begin? Rooks are large troll-like creatures with a large cannon mounted on top, they aren't stupid, but they're not einstein either. Despite popular though it is ridiculously hard to stop a Rook. But it isn't hard to avoid them. (2 White available, 2 Black available)

 

Pawns - Always bringing up the front and rear are the pawns. Like geenral militia, they have mismatched armour and a weapon of the class they aspire for. Male Pawns who want to become Bishops carry a smaller mace for bludgeoning but not deadly attacks whilst the female ones have wands. Pawns who want to become Knights carry basic swords. Pawns who want to become Rooks......I prefer not to say really. Sufficed to say an arm get's taken off and replaced with a cannon. Only female Pawns can aspire for queendom, their weapons are staves on a smaller scale than the Queen's.

Name: Neccardinal Dumouse

 

Side: Black

 

Class: Bishop

 

Appearance: He is a terrifying figure. He is naturally 6"4, but with his helmet he is 6"9. His helmet is very similar to a knight's, except that the front of the helmet is raised much like a bishop's hat. He wears a lightly armoured black breastplate with long shoulder pauldrons. The breastplate thins as it goes down, become an arrow shape on his stomach; underneath is a thick grey tunic. His arms are covered by the grey tunic until it is swallowed up by his black metal armbands and thick leather gloves. He wears a quilt of chain mail with a breechcloh reading 'Damn you all!' Underneath is fabric similar to the tunic, which runs visibly to his knees, the rest going to his ankles. He wears very thick metal boots for heavy kicks, a skull is on the toe of the right boot.

 

He rarely removes his helm, unless in the presence of his King or Queen. Underneath he is a wreck of a man. His shadow warped skin is sunken and his eyes red, a side-effect of corruption. His nose is slightly smashed inwards, a result of his battle against a Rook, which he won. His hair is grey and short.

 

Personality: Dumouse will refuse to respect anyone weaker than him, power is all that matters. He despises the lovey-dovey notions of the White Bishops and relishes every chance to destory Pawns who aspire to be one. He will never forgive Besaid for defeating his King.

 

Weapon: Dumouse uses Dark Temptation, a gift from his King for becoming the Neccardinal to him; it is a smooth shaft of grey metal, which is in fact calslucifer, solidified shadows. It is a terrifying 8 feet tall. It has no ornate decorations, save for the bladed bottom of the staff and the winged devil at the top. The wings are sharp and can easily cut things, as is the spear-shaped head of the demon. It was argued that this weapon was against Bishop regulations, but the Black King argued that it can bludgeon and that is the only requirement for a Bishop's weapon, anything else is an extra. The White better fear this weapon.

Appearance: Bolgar is indeed a large behemoth of a beast. He is a mountainous and massive kind of soldier that won't be afraid to rip his enemies limb from limb. Blogar has bulging and thundering muscles and is covered with green skin and has bright red raging eyes to show his growing insanity. Bolgar has short brown hair and has battle scars all up and down his body. Bolgar is never seen wearing a shirt, so that his six pack abs will show and make him look more terrifying and strong. In fact, the only article of clothing that Bolgar wears are a pair of dark blue pants that have holes and cuts in them from the many battles he was apart of.

 

Personality: Bolgar is an angry and wrathful person. He loves to run around the battlefield and plow down enemies with his massive amounts of strength and rage. Bolgar considers himself to be a tool of the Black Army and that's all he values out of his life and he actually finds happiness in doing so. Bolgar is one of those people that finds all his enjoyment on the battlefield, and to him pain is an illusion.

 

Weapon: Instead of having one big massive cannon on his back Bolgar has two shoulder cannons mounted on each shoulder. The cannons are both blood red in coloration but have bright green circles on the tips where the ammunition would fire out of.

Name: Cardinal Besaid

 

Side: White

 

Class: Bishop

 

Appearance: He is a well built yet pale man. He stands acurrently at 6"1, which is a little bigger than most bishops, though his hat is a foot long, making his total height 7"1. Most bishop wear decent armour in and out of battle, Besaid does not, as he tends to wear well fitting robes colured gold. Two tassles hang down from his back to his knees, each is tipped by a cross. A well starched vest clings to his chest, keeping his robes in place. The bottom of the robes are cut, allowing movement of his legs which are in long cardinal red stockings which rise to his knees. He wears a breechcloth, which reads 'God bless the White'. His silver boots are the only metal part of his outfit, which rise to below his knees. They are probably very uncomfortable. He wears a large bishop hat, which somehow can only be removed by Besaid if he wants to.

 

His face is battle work, dark shadows under his eyes and many wrinkles on his face. He has a moustache and goatee, never allowing them to connect by skillful shaving from his Pawns. His eyes are golden yellow, having become so after his fifth battle in which he managed to defeat the Black King, purely by luck. He was gifted with great holy ferver by his own King. His head is ceremoniously shaved, but the flaps of his hat cover the back and sides of his head.

 

Personality: Besaid is unlike the normal Bishops, he doesn't preach and grow angry about the Black. He sees the battle in the same way the royalty does; a nuisance that is forcefully repeated because they have to. However, he cannot abide cruelty by either side, and anyone who disagrees will be whacked senseless by his mace.

 

Weapon: His weapon is the Royal Mace, given to the Cardinal of the King. It is golden in colour, with seven segements each a foot long. The top of the mace is adorned by a four inch crown, making it similar to the ruling sceptres the King and Queen have. The crown is very large and very hard, making it quite painful to be struck by it. The weapon is about 7"4 in height. Truly terrifying to be hit by this thing.

I have both male bishops so I can keep the story moving, as the Queens won't be joining them.

 

The double cannons will be fine, since they still take part of the back mounted artillery.

Hmm, Adamant, if you don't mind, I would prefer it if you used the pick NOT of a character from a game, and a definite weapon pic. I know the Black Knight is practical, but, try a little better or write a detailed description.

 

Also, I've added my two characters, Cardnal Besaid and Neccardinal Dumouse.
