  1. I finally got my first anti corona-shot (yep, until now. That's how incompetent my government is) and to commemorate the occasion I drew this: I know that Lily is almost always seen smiling and winking, but the Covid is serious s***, so she's going all out this time!

  3. Wow. That's a lot of words. Many of which don't mean anything of substance and can just be attributed to exposition for the sake of increasing length. To paraphrase: "Eh, don't worry about YCMaker! Just do what you could already do on this site! And make cards! You don't need any new features to do that!" Wow! Wonderful! In that case, make yourself useful and help clean up! We'd appreciate the extra hand in dealing with all these bots. I mean, unless you really want an exotic date like they claim.

  5. New Yugioh Card Maker has graduated to public beta! Link directly below logo. Still loads to do, but it should be stable enough at this point. Big shoutout to everyone who helped test this app over the past several months, I appreciate all of you! If you made a suggestion that hasn't made it into the app yet, don't fret - it's probably still on the way. The beta test forum will remain active and you all will be able to try out the latest features before they go live.

  6. y-yeah, let's be shameless while this lasts. NCM link: https://neocardmaker.com/ I need more people that share my particular interests over there to really get more active, but regardless something that is forever true is that there's useful and active staff and admin over there and has a much better infrastructure. YCM at this point will only last until the corrupting code and suffocating bots allow it to so please go over there to have another meeting point in case things go south over here. No staff besides the admin himself would really be willing to shoot this post down and he's been apparently offline since "the tyranny of inches". If this post gets axed we'll know the status of this situation xD

  7. I have been on this website since 2011 and you have been broadly known as the guy who created the cardmaker and is never around for all of that timeframe. Yes it's your website and you can do whatever you want with it, great argument man but I would dare you to perhaps engage with the criticism you receive on a more intellectual level than "This is actually mine I own it and I let you use it and you should be grateful". It is obviously too late for that though as this attitude and its associated approach to leadership has already achieved its logical end of driving the community away, be that to the website which must not be named or just away entirely from the space. It's great that you used to like making cards, I did too, particularly when I first found this website at the age of 14. I remember vividly the first cards that I posted and the mixture of anticipation nerves dread excitement all that shit tied to sharing something I had made that I actually wanted to be good with people I did not know for the first time in my life, checking the family computer every 10, 15 minutes to see if anyone had replied or if anyone had even viewed or was viewing the thread. Those minutes turned to hours and those hours turned to days and the days to weeks to months to years and I'm 26 moderating that same now largely abandoned stage. In that time I don't see 12 years worth of technological advancement or functional improvement in the cardmaker. I see a pet project that is intermittently worked on as a life is led. And that's fine, that's completely fine, but you can't actually just be normal about it and acknowledge it as such, you're never the guy who created the cardmaker and sometimes works on it in his spare time you're always the great and glorious leader returning from who knows where to bless the unruly baying mob with maybe another scrap maybe a verbal dressing down for having the cheek to question our leader's commitment in the midst of his latest year-long hibernation. It is beyond comical for you to sockpuppet another account to make this post to an audience of about 15 actual people on a forum that at a time had hundreds. Like there isn't really anything I can say that is as funny or damning as just the broader context of this post and its own content. You're a twat.

Broken and overpowered cards go here. I see zero effort trash, it goes here. You want to share busted or silly cards? You can post them here with no qualms from me.

  13. To anybody unhappy about lack of activity: Go to somebody else's thread and comment on their stuff. If they reply to your stuff, answer them back. Listen to feedback, do small talk. If you complain about this problem, don't become part of the problem while you are at it. I just found out I had most likes in the site for the day yesterday.... with no second or third place at all so literally the only ones in the entire site, and I'm not even all that active myself so WTF xD I believe in you guys, don't be apathetic others's stuff and expect to just receive. Those are my two cents of the day.

  19. I want to spark a discusion so... "Zefra...not everything needs to be meta. Users can experiment. Try to give some constructive criticism to threads moving forward" (my quote got screwed up) It's ok to make cards that range anywhere from purely detrimental to win you the game by existing in your deck. The point to making cards is having a creative outlet, and there's different purposes to that. There is an art to making something competitively viable without breaking the game, but that's not the only purpose to card making. I personally have a few criteria I follow 90% of the time I make cards: DO: - Fun for everyone - Competitively VIABLE - unique concept/improvement -have weaknesses/conditions -make effects that match lore and deck strategy Don't: -Enable FTKs. -Stop opponent from doing anything. -Powercreep already competitive options. I would like to clarify none of these are hard rules in card making, just one TYPE of it. These are the cards that would fall under the realistic card section. Every card that has EVER been posted on this site (as far as I'm aware of) is an acceptable way to make custom cards. Your cards are great Zefra. I have no qualms with them as cards. I give my advice as of grammatical correctness and realism for printing. I would not have fun playing with or against a majority of the cards you've made, but not only are they unique, they are an art of your own (they probably have a niche format in which they would be fun to use and their existence is great in and of itself). Lastly comments. I appreciate someone comming and looking at my work, but one thing you don't do to someone is say "it's bad" and leave (you didn't do this here). You gave some constructive critisism on how you believe it would be at the "proper power level" with optional effects and about double the ATK. What you did do wrong is rant and claim what a user was doing was wrong and stupid, that's what unacceptable. I never @ members in status updates but here is my little rampage. @Rayfield Lumina @The Nyx Avatar @Zefra Zamazenta @KH911 @MasterofGays @Horu

  27. A lot of people on Duelingbook think that making custom archetypes in yugioh is about winning. Yes, it is about winning, but it's also about being reasonable in your card design as well and making you and the opponent have a good time dueling. If you look at the TCG Meta, a lot of the Meta winning strategies have something in common - consistency. Consistency is the way of getting the resource(s) that you need at a given time, and this includes searching, and not to mention recycling as well. Let's look at the TCG Meta for 2024.We have Labrynth Deck, Centurion Deck, Fire Kings, Kashtira, Branded Despia, Rescue Ace, etc. Every one of these decks has something in common - the ability to recycle their cards and get their resources consistently. So the point is, you want to win with something that you have created by yourself. It is better to be innovation first, and then think about the Meta 2nd. Do: Think of ideas that have been abandoned by Konami and give them new light. Explore uncharted territory with your cards (e.g. Synchro Union/Link Union monsters as Konami has never touched on that territory.) Try to get help from others with writing the PSCT of your cards (even better if someone can do BOTH PSCT and balancing as well). Be innovative when making custom cards. Use HOPTs to balance out your cards. Don't: Take the TCG Meta and put that into your own custom card design. This shows laziness, as people would rather play the originals as opposed to your deck. Link 1's - Konami abandoned Link 1 because of how easily spammable they can be. The only exception is that you put a spin on your Link 1. Try to make a deck to shut down the opponent. Lockdown decks can be tricky, as it is like a "poison" that must applied to both side. Make 5+ negates/disruption end boards - this is the type of deck that makes people want to quit against you. Make custom hand traps (like custom Ash Blossom) for your archetype. Every card in the archetype should help in a way to the archetype's mechanic. Try to make an meta archetype on day 1 and expect everything to work out just fine.

  29. Cool artwork. I think is too dependent on the "Vampiric Dragulas Disciple". For archetypes with level 6, this is less flexible. Need something like this, "You can Normal Summon this card without Tributing, but its original ATK becomes 500", "send 1 "Vampiric" monster from Deck, then Special Summon this card", "When this card is Normal or Special Summon, you can Special Summon 1 "Vampiric" monster from.."

  30. Here are some of the backrow cards. Spare Slayer Doll SPELL | [ Continuous ] Original artwork by MyungYi You can only activate this card and resolve its effects while you have no cards in your Extra Deck. If a "Slayer Doll" monster you control is sent from the field to the GY, You can add 1 Level 5 or higher "Slayer Doll" monster from your Deck to your hand. You can only use this effect of "Spare Slayer Doll" once per turn. During the Battle Phase, while the only face-up monsters you control are "Slayer Doll" monsters, negate all of your opponent's Spell/Trap cards and their effects during the Battle Phase only. Slayer Doll Rising SPELL | [ Ritual ] Original artwork by キュンLab You cannot activate this card while you have cards in your Extra Deck. This card can be used to Ritual Summon any "Slayer Doll" Ritual Monster from your hand or GY. You must also Tribute monsters from your hand or your side of the field whose total Levels are equal or greater than the Level of that Ritual Monster. While this card is in your hand or banished: You can place it into the bottom of the Deck; Draw 1 card. You can only use this effect of "Slayer Doll Rising" once per turn. Slayer Doll Awakening SPELL | [ Ritual ] Artist missing (Pixiv page not found). You cannot activate this card while you have cards in your Extra Deck. This card can be used to Ritual Summon any "Slayer Doll" Ritual Monster from your hand or GY. You must also Tribute monsters from your hand or your side of the field whose total Levels are equal or greater than the Level of that Ritual Monster. During your Main Phase: You can banish this card from your GY, add 1 "Slayer Doll" monster from your Deck to your hand. You can only use this effect of "Slayer Doll Awakening" once per Duel. Last Annihilation TRAP | [ Counter ] (This card is always treated as an "Slayer Doll" card.) If an opponent's Special Summoned monster activates its effects while you have no cards in your Extra Deck; negate that activation, and if you do, neither player can use monsters as Materials for the rest of this turn. If the only monsters you control are "Slayer Doll" monsters, you can activate this card from your hand. You can only activate 1 "Last Annihilation" per turn.

  36. seeing people writing about it on here has now led to the reality actually setting in that the man chiefly responsible for this community's existence and all that it entails is dead yugioh has been involved in my life in some capacity for actually as long as i can remember, i am a mod on this forsaken clown website at the age of 24 having joined it at 14 through this now abandoned but once bountiful land i have met numerous good people with whom i have had great fun, a handful of goofs and loons for whom the same applies, a wide variety of zany characters, and rewas i have grown up and evolved from a humble subhuman degenerate to a somewhat together human being, years of character development that were intrinsically connected to and documented within these forums, and the game that inspired it, and the amount that it means to me, is only really becoming apparent as i type this out kazuki takahashi's creation and its offspring have been taking up space in my little rat brain for longer than anything else at all and i am very sad that he is gone rip

  38. S-sooooo I've got some requests pending.... Yes I huh... haven't forgotten or forsaken it, but life has given me a tough time after my last contest sooooo sorry for the delay everybody. I actually have been keeping in my head that I shouldn't draw anything until I take care of those, but months are starting to pile up and I very much need to de-stress in some way. Here's an unrelated doodle I made. One of my characters for my comic that's a work in progress. Shelly the witch (mother of the purple hair witch you've probably seen me draw a ton). She travels around the world looking for foreign magic systems. Stuff from other cultures or that are a bit alien to the magic system in my project. That's the context of her testing this watch that is like a power rangers morpher.

  44. Davante The Psylexic Earth Boy Third in the Mother drawing series comes the young lad, Davante. I'd like to start his profile by mentioning that you shouldn't be fooled by his stern appearance, he's a truly kind boy, but he has many problems in life, and often hides them behind a facade of grouchiness and confidence that unfortunately for him, easily falls apart. He lives together with his older sister, the person he loves the most in the world, in the Parasol's Shade, a small district part of the Amagocoey Regime, one of the great... realms of the world, as I'm missing a better word to call them rn. Mmm... I guess I'd had to go into spoiler territory to be able to explain this in detail, so I'll try not to. As mentioned in my first drawing, Mother 3's ending is open to interpretation. The world could have been saved, or it could have been destroyed... or something else. This last is what I chose to believe. At the point where this story unfolds, an indeterminate, but large amount of time has passed since Mother 3's ending. The world changed, and became inhabited again, far and wide. But the government system became different from before. You see, during the cataclysm that ensued during the last moments of Mother 3, a large quantity of PSI energy was spread throughout Earth, surfacing from the womb of the planet. This energy held the memory of the planet. In time, people started finding fragments of this PSI energy, which crystallized into some round objects of different sizes, but on average close to a baseball, impossible to describe how they felt to the touch, these pulsating purplish fragments came to be known as Spores (<-- wanna find a better name). The Spores were fundamental in the development of the world. You got to understand that after the cataclysm, the world was pretty much resettled to 0, so it's possible it would have taken millennia for the few humans that were left to recover civilization as it was even though they held certain level of knowledge. Thanks to the Spores, the span of time required was reduced greatly. When you touch a Spore... welp, it will depend on the person, but normally, it won't go beyond experimenting a groovy journey, a la cannabis. But some people will see more clearly than others. And those better suited to absorb the Spore's "message" were able to understand how to build civilization. Those on top of this ability to discern the Spores were, as you've probably guessed, PSI users. I feel like I have explained too much about the system without talking about Davante, so let's just say the current world is a crazy mixture of ancient civilizations, getting along (or not) with the others. This is because Spores tend to group with their kind, and once they were deciphered by PSI users (considered by certain people as prophets/chosen people/messiah/etc) humans from the group of that PSI user were able to build back the civilization described by their leader. None of them, which right now are called Regimes, are 100% loyal to their counterparts of the past, because no matter how clear the information a Spore holds is, it's still bound to interpretation, and PSI user power is variable and unstable. The Amagocoey Regime, then, was Davante's home. What the hell is Amagocoey? Can't you tell? Welp, it's Amazon, Google, Coca-Cola, Disney, all in one word xD. Yes, I'm serious (and not). These brands are omni-present in our modern world, so I felt like it would be a good wink. So yeah, the area were Davante lives is similar to our modern world, hence his appearance. But in other regions of the world, you will find Regimes based on Mesopotomia, another based Egypt, another based on the Victorian Age, etc., and not necessarily in regions that match their geographical locations in our world, so don't be surprised if you see Ice-block Pyramids somewhere near the north Pole surrounded by white desert, or the Regime of Silk, Gunpowder and Printing in the middle of the jungle. Yeah, the world is kinda bonkers. So, as you can see in the drawing, Davante is a PSI user. Does that mean he is treated as a messiah and lives with all honours inside a palace full of commodities, waiting in a comfy divan to be brought more Spores to decipher and guide their people while he stuffs himself with the best food? Not at all. Because Davante is both dyslexic and psylexic. Touching a Spore is hell for him, as he receives a barrage of incomprehensible and chaotic lights and sounds that hurt his head terribly. Keeping a Spore to oneself is an extremely grave crime by worldwide law, but once they have been deciphered, they're discarded and either sold or put in lottery for the masses. Certain people have the privilege of having one, and it's a prized treasure indeed (yeeep, because of the groovy journeys I mentioned). But when Davante was invited to touch one, he suffered a lot, and this was seen as a sacrilege to other people. Mix that with his constant troubles at school due to his dyslexia, and we have a bully target. On top of that, Davante has no parents. They vanished. Are they dead? Nobody knows for sure. Their job, which is Sporologist (archeologist, but of Spores, duh) took them to deep caverns and other mysterious places. One day, they didn't return from an expedition. So, both Davante and his sister, Brianna, work as part-timers to sustain themselves, but this causes greater trouble for Davante because he's usually behind at school. Chapter 1 (remember, Zheon and Stella's episode is the prologue) starts by showing Davante in the clearing of a forest in the outskirts of the Parasol's Shade. Let me tell you that he hates PSI. He believes that it's PSI the cause of his dyslexia and his trouble with Spores, and would like to get rid of it. Then how come he's actually hidden in the clearing, training his PSI? He's not a fool, idealistic boy. He knows his "curse" won't go away simply by wishing, so he's training his powers with the hope that, by mastering them, his dyslexia will diminish. And the training is going well! Before knowing it, he has twigs, leaves and rocks circling around him, and he even dares to chuckle, impressed by his work. And everything falls to the ground when a delighted shout is heard: "Caught you red-handed, Special One!!" The band of stupid boys that bully him find him. Caught in the moment, Davante didn't see them coming. But wait, people knowing he actually possesses PSI is not a good thing? No. The problem is, I've been talking about PSI users as the cuspid of society, but I never said they used their PSI publicly. I'm finding it hard for me to justify this happened, but PSI users kept most of their powers to themselves and only showed them to their closest circle. The public doesn't know the extent of their powers, they just think they're able to "talk" with the spores. So, people wielding strange powers unrelated to Spores are seen as weirdos. The band of bullies surround Davante and jeer at him, while calling him "Special One". He hates that, and they know it. His sister Brianna often defends him from the bullies and calls his lil' dear brother that, so the bullies use it ironically to pester him. But after some jeering, they get serious. They feel like he's some kind of monster, and should really be disposed of. I don't know to which extent, but they meant no good. Scared, Davante reacts by instinct when their circle on him and uses his PSI to knock one of them down with a nice rock telekinesis strike on the face. Their circle broken, he runs for dear life. They laugh as they go after him. What, he trips with a branch or rock and falls to the ground like in most movies? Nah, it's just that Davante's physical condition is not too great either xD. And they catch him. Knocked down on the floor, he receives some kicks. He's too scared and confused, he can't concentrate to use his PSI to retaliate. He's curled on the ground, trembling and bracing himself for the next set of kicks, when one of the bullies shout. "Hey, what the bloody hell is THAT!?" A meteor? Damn, a METEOR, RUUUUUN! The others scream. Still very shaken, the body battered and weak, Davante manages to kneel on the floor. He watches the upcoming meteor half believing it's not possible. "So, that's the end?" The meteor comes at great speed, becoming bigger by the moment. Davante glances back. The bullies' silhouettes can be barely seen, but at the speed the meteor is moving, they might very well get caught in the explosion as well. "Like I care. Serves them right". Next thing he notices, Davante is using every single ounce of his power to try to stop the meteor. The face of his sister keeps popping on his mind. His parents, next. And even the bullies. He hates them. Oh, he hates them so much. Add yet, Davante is just too kind. "I can't let this happen" He almost faints. His arms extended and eyes closed, his body is drained from almost every drop of PSI. Nosebleeding and dizzy, he opens his eyes. He did it! (surprising, huh?). The meteor lies four or five meters from him, sizzling and crackling. "Ehhh.... eh?.... EHHHHH!!?? It's not a meteor... it's... an UFO. Finding strength from who knows where, Davante jumps to his feet and runs behind a tree. The strange space artifact steams and bubbles. Davante's instinct is screaming "Run like the devil is chasing you", but curiosity has him pinned behind the tree. What to do? What to do? What to do? GAAASP! A loud clank, and then a hatch in the shuttle opens. A metallic ladder crashes onto the ground. Oh dang, Aliens, Oh, goddammit, alieeeens! A small feet appears, clad in a silvery boot. Then the same boot slips and the owner comes down rolling onto the floor! Davante witnesses the majestic advent of Aliens to Earth, flabbergasted. The alien twirls on the dirt and suddenly it's on all fours. Watching eagerly around, the alien scratches the soil enthusiastically, then it starts pulling some grass and throwing it into the air, happily. Then they watch a flower, completely mesmerized. And almost as mesmerized is Davante. With the mouth open, drooling without even noticing, the boy keeps staring at the playful alien. He moves his feet and a twig breaking resounds. The alien notices Davante's presence... and runs behind the shuttle. Silence. The purple haired head of the alien pops from the right of the shuttle. Davante's head pops from the left of the tree. They both notice and hide again... and this repeats... three times. Then the purple haired head appears for the fourth time... and winks. Davante's heart missed a beat. Then the alien timidly and slowly left her hideout. Standing there, a couple of meters from a small space ship, Stella smiled to Davante. And Davante couldn't help it: He smiled back. Thus, the Girl that Came from the Stars and the Psylexic Earth Boy met, and fates intertwined, they would in time start a journey to... guess what? Save the world! Original. Or... could it be there's more to it? Weird fact: In Mother 2, there's a song called Boy Meets Girl. I know this will sound weird, but somehow a variation of that song exists in my mind. When I imagine the cute meeting of Stella and Davante, I play that song in my mind. If one day I learn how to compose music, I might try to compose that one. Arrrgh, I've extended myself too much, nobody's gonna read this, so just one more thing, like with the others: In Battle: Davante is unlike the boys in the Mother series, which are very strong physically and have mostly healing PSI. His psylexia make his PSI unstable (not really reflected in the pattern I drew, guess I blundered it there, but I remembered too late and said, this looks good xD). Though he's rather durable, Stella's physical attacks are stronger. Then what makes using Davante good? Well, his PSI is a crazy mess. Instead of being 100% offensive or supportive, it often causes a combination of effects. He's able to mess with the turn order, steal critical hits or SMAAAAASH attacks from enemies, reverse/transfer certain statuses and stat changes, even alter weaknesses and resistances, or change attack patterns. In short, Davante's PSI is a bit situational, but easily some of the most devastating if used correctly, better at times even than simple strong attacking PSI, balancing his not-so spectacular stats. His special command, [Spore-Adic] allows him see the future, but mwahaha, I'll elaborate on this in other opportunity.
