Diclonius are being held in a special experimental facility off the coast of Kamakura in Kanagawa, south of the city of Yokohama, by the chief executive of the experimental facility. The first of the Diclonius race, a teenage girl named by the staff as "Lucy," escapes, using her vectors to deflect gunfire and effortlessly kill security guards. As she makes her way out of the facility, a sniper shoots her, breaking her metal helmet and causing her to fall into the sea. The next morning, Kohta is moving to Kamakura to study in a university where he is reunited with his cousin Yuka. He encounters Lucy on a beach in the area, naked with her head bleeding from the bullet wound and only capable of saying the word "Nyu." [spoiler=Rosario + Vampire]

Ongoing/Finished: Season 1 & 2 Finished, Season 3 ongoing

Number of Episodes: 13 in Season 1, 13 in Season 2

Rating(G, PG, PG-13, R): PG-13, swearing, blood, violence, lots of harem moments...

Description: Tsukune Aono is a painfully average high school freshman who is unable to get into any private school, due to his disappointing test scores. The only school he is finally accepted into turns out to be a secret school for supernatural monsters (youkai), who are disguised as humans. The first student he meets is the beautiful Moka Akashiya, who becomes his friend for an unusual reason; she is a vampire, and is attracted to the sweet taste of his human blood. Tsukune quickly realizes his admission into a monster school must have been a mistake and fears for his life.

Despite Moka's vampiric nature, she is a kind girl and Tsukune quickly falls for her. He decides to stay and be near her, despite the various dangers. He must hide his human identity from the faculty and other students, while trying to keep his grades up and avoiding conflicts with the various not-so-mythological monsters lurking around campus. Tsukune soon discovers that when he removes the rosario around Moka's neck, she transforms into a super-vampire, stronger and more powerful than almost any other creature at the school. However, in this state, she has an entirely different personality, often cold and merciless, so the rosario is only removed in dire emergencies. Tsukune is the only person who can physically remove it to transform Moka, and only in the case of an emergency (the rosario remains physically bound to Moka, while Tsukune attempts to willfully remove it in a moment immediately preceding, and sometimes interjecting - a malignant situation).

As the school year continues, Tsukune becomes involved with other students who start out as enemies but who are won over into becoming his friends: Kurumu Kurono, a succubus who originally fixated on Tsukune as both a means of propogating her species and a weapon against Moka (whom she originally hated for attracting all the male students away from her); Yukari Sendo, an eleven-year-old witch who is the smartest student at the academy (but prejudiced against by the other students since witches are not truly considered monsters, but somewhere between monsters and humans) who developed a major crush on Moka after Moka defended her against a pack of bullies (and therefore thought no mere boy is good enough for Moka!); Ginei Morioka, a second-year student who is not only the President of the school Newspaper Club but also a werewolf and a confirmed skirt-chaser who can't understand why Moka is attracted to Tsukune and not to him; and Mizore Shirayuki, a yuki onna who began by stalking Tsukune believing them to be soulmates. However, after Tsukune befriends each of the girls, they become friendly rivals along with Moka for Tsukune's affections and members of the school Newspaper Club with Tsukune and stand by him even after they learn that he is really a human.

Name of Anime/manga: Fullmetal Alchemist

Ongoing/Finished: Finished

Number of Episodes: 52, plus 1 movie

Rating(G, PG, PG-13, R): PG-13, swearing, blood, and violence

[spoiler=Description: (It's kinda long because I copy/pasted off of Wikipedia, edit as you see fit)]Edward and Alphonse Elric are two alchemist brothers who search for the legendary Philosopher's Stone, a powerful object which would allow them to recover their bodies (which were lost in an attempt to bring their mother back to life through alchemy). Born in the village of Resembool from the country of Amestris, the two brothers lived there with their parents. Their father, Hohenheim, left home for unknown reasons and years later, their mother, Trisha Elric, died of a terminal illness leaving the Elric brothers alone. After their mother's death, Edward becomes determined to bring her back through the use of alchemy, an advanced science in which objects can be created from raw materials. They researched Human Transmutation, a forbidden art in which one attempts to create or modify a human being. However, this attempt failed, ultimately resulting in the loss of Edward's left leg and Alphonse's entire body. In a desperate effort to save his brother, Edward sacrificed his right arm to affix his brother's soul to a suit of armor. Some days later, an alchemist named Roy Mustang visits the Elric brothers, and he tells Edward to become a member of the State Military of the country to find a way to recover their bodies. After that, Edward's left leg and right arm are fitted with two sets of automail, a type of advanced prosthetic limb, created for him by his close family friends Winry Rockbell and her grandmother Pinako.

Edward sets out to become a State Alchemist, an alchemist employed by the State Military of Amestris, which infamously annihilated much of the neighboring country of Ishbal's population in the past decade. Becoming a State Alchemist enables Edward to use the extensive resources available to State Alchemists, but it also turns him into a what they call a "dog of the military". His more friendly relationship with Roy Mustang however, whom he reports to and recruited him, allows the brothers freedom to search for the Philosopher's Stone as part of Edward's research, as each State Alchemist is expected to independently research new things which may be of a use to the State Military of Amestris. The brothers set off in search of the Philosopher's Stone as a means to restore their bodies.

Name of Anime/manga: Death Note (available in anime and manga)

Name of Anime/manga: Trigun, it is available in both anime and manga, although the stories do differ quite a bit.

Ongoing/Finished: Finished

Number of Episodes: 26, two 'volumes' of it for the manga (english one anyway)

Rating(G, PG, PG-13, R): PG-13

Description: The story follows a man called "Vash the Stampede". A man wanted because everywhere he goes, destruction and carnage follows (although the main cause is the destruction of a city called July). Unfortunately, due to amnesia he forget the facts on the incident. Throughout his travels, Vash tries to save lives using non-lethal force (totally at odds with his reputation). It starts lighthearted, but like plenty of noteworthy anime's, get's darker as it progresses.

The setting is a sort of high-tech western (lots of guns, think sorta like Cowboy Bebop). However the setting has both high and low tech devices, explained why later in story. While the real plot doesn't show until several episodes in, no episode really feels wasted (filler). Please note i can't talk for the manga, I only know the anime very well. The manga I only vaguely know.

Anyway, I may have to try some of these anime/manga... Good luck!
