When you said TME I thought you meant "Too Much Effort." :\

 

Because it clicks sometimes doesn't mean you should run it.

 

Why shouldn't I run 2 Sarco, why shouldn't I run 3 Moon? If anything I'd -1 Moon +1 Shrink but that's about it.

 

Esquete over one doesn't run as well as it did last format, and it didn't even run too well back then. Best at one.

 

I dont know about you but I dont think he could afford 2 Gold Sarcophagus let alone 1. Not now anyway.

 

Isn't Sarco getting reprinted?

okay i just threw it together but i love random decks i don't like to stay with one strategy :-{()

 

Random decks suck, to get good at the game you have to understand that all successful decks are built around a theme with a specific goal. For example, Monarch decks used teched cards to provide easy tributes to summon several Monarchs over a period of turns to maintain field control, and Lightsworn decks speed through the deck, overwhelming the opponent by swarming and simultaneously filling the graveyard with other Lightsworn monsters to fulfil Judgement Dragon's summoning condition.

 

A deck full of random cards from different themes will not be able to accomplish anything of this nature =/

Here's an interesting point of discussion...

 

With the change of format speed, inability to perform quite so many synchro summons and the rise of Monarchs, will synchros see any competitive play at all? All the big lv8 synchros get raped by Caius and Raiza, not to mention that a Soul Exchange/Caius play could take care of two (and let's face it, next format they won't be able to muster many more in a single turn lest they have an incredibly lucky hand containing Reborn, Brain Control and Emergency Teleport).

 

It leads me to think that synchros will now only be viable as a deck's win condition if they somehow maintain the ability to OTK or use Solemns/(other counter traps?) to maintain them.

 

Tuners may still continued to be splashed because they fit into the deck (like Plaguespreader in Lightsworn), but I don't think it will go much further than this.

 

Anyway, post your thoughts.

That's a fair point. I'm sure the ban list will be touched but Airbellum will mean business if it actually is allowed with Kitty. To add on, with Summon Priest Synchroing is greatly helped.

To be honest, I doubt Synchros will ever decline completely simply because they're a 15 card toolbox for whatever situation you're in at the moment.

Also, Toni I don't think we need a separate trades thread but I see nothing wrong with organising trades through the club. You can post things that you're looking for or things you have to offer here then PM corresponding members ^.^

Back from the SP with my playset of Eels. Unfortunately, I had to trade off my janky holos for them.

You'll be a force to be reckoned with now that you have the Swamp Eels =D

 

I didn't go to our sneak peak because I'm not really looking for anything from the new set, but I've done some playtesting with an agressive Monarch build for the new format with Rykos, Krebons, 1 Emergency Teleport, Chaos Sorcerer etc. It ran pretty well so I'll take it to next locals ^.^

Dark Tinker makes Puppet Master playable. Should we work on a Fiend deck? I'm getting my Allures soon and Doom Shaman is in the $3 bin at locals.

Here's a very rough draft of Dark Tinker. Basically, I'm putting the idea on paper. Any suggestions?

 

DaD seems to come to mind, along with Darklord Zerato and Dark Nephthys, but I threw out the idea because none of them are Fiends, and thus they cannot be recurred by Doom Shaman or Puppet Master.

Not bad actually =)

 

Changes I'd make:

 

-1 Infernal Prodigy

-1 Soul Exchange

-1 MST

 

+1 Card Destruction - Discard dead fiends, more speed etc.

+1 Invader of Darkness - Reusable beatstick.

+1 Brain Control - Obvious one, just better than running a 3rd Soul Exchange.

 

It might even be worth trying to crowbar in a Card of Safe Return to maximise Puppet Master and Doom Shaman abuse, but that could go down a totally different route of playing Blazewing Butterflys, Future Fusion, Swing of Memories etc...
