[spoiler=Prolouge: A Meeting in Space]The Legendary Council was only called upon when there was a matter of world-changing importance. Arceus would have been excited, seeing as this was the first meeting since all of the Legendary Pokemon had been released from there eternal resting places and had stopped feuding. However, when he called the council for disscusion, it was never something to be excited about.

One by one, the magnificent pokemon arrived. Some, such as Darkrai and Shaymin, Arceus had not seed for thousands of years. But there was little time to greet old friends, so the meeting started right away.

"Welcome, legends," said Arceus. "I have called this meeting in the far reaches of space for some urgent news. It is our duty to protect the planet Earth. Although it is only home to some of us, while others prefer the stars, we all depend on the planet for existence."

"However, as it has happened before, this planet is in danger. Unlike the events in the past, instead of one of us causing these incedents," Arceus looked shamefully at Groudon, Kyogre, the Attak and Defence Deoxys, Dialga, and Palkia. "We now have a threat from another corner of the universe. A threat so powerful, we will not be able to stop it alone. On Earth, there are a handful of humans who are destined to help us defeat the evil coming our way, and it is no coincidence that their is one of them for every one of you. For it is your destiny to reveal to them their fate. Your task is this: Go to Earth and observe from above to find the one that you are destined to guide to greatness. Put them on the road that fate has paved for them. When you have found the right human, you will know by the legendary power within you. Now this meeting comes to an end. Go now, for there isn't much time." And with that, Arceus was gone.

Here we go again, thought Articuno. Whenever the pokemon god gave the council an assignment like this, Articuno never knew where to start. At times, he doubted that he really was a legend, and not just a normal pokemon. But somehow, he always managed to succed. It was because of this that Articuno never lost hope. So to Earth he went, searching for the human he was supposed to guide. He searched for weeks, but had no luck. Then one day, while flying through Snowpoint Forrest, he saw a boy no older than twelve struggling to find his way home in the blizzard. When he saw the child, Articuno felt a connection like no other. "This must be the one." he said. With that, he dived to the boy's rescue.

[spoiler=Chapter 1: Fate]

My life was just one big dissapointment until the day I was lost in that blizzard. My mom, Candice, is the city Gym leader of Snowpoint and my dad, Richard, studies pokemon evolution, so naturally, I might have picked up the pokegene, as I call it, right? Um, no. Since I could walk I've been trying to interact with pokemon as best as I could, but my mom and dad's growl when I come near them, so catching my own is even more impossible than befriending ones that I've known since I was born. This wouldn't have been such a big deal, had my parents not been such big pokemon stars. But people have big expectations for me that I dont live up to. At school, most kids pick on me when I try to talk to them, so I mostly keep to myself. But one In perticular won't let me forget what a big dissapointment I am, whether I'm a loner or not.

"Hey, Spylar," said Chad on my way home from school "Did your mom's Sneasel bite you again?" He had noticed the big bruise on my hand. The truth was, yes, that's exatcly what happened. But I wasn't gonna let that jerk know.

"Chad, how many times have I told you how retarted it is to pick on someone five years younger than you?" I said. "Well, firstly, I heard that it's four years younger today" he replied. I had completely forgot it was my twelfth birthday. "And second," he continued "calling me names wont solve your problems. Just because you'll never amount to anything, just because you can't catch a pokemon, just bec-" "SHUT UP!" shouted Mindy and Cindy. Mindy and Cindy are twins and are in 10th grade with Chad. I couldn't exactly call them my friends, since we don't talk much, but they always help me when Chad gives me trouble.

"You're the one that'll never amount to anything!" said Cindy."Your grades are terrible, you can't play sports, and your only pastime is tormenting people!" "Well it's not as if I lied or anything," replied Chad. "I mean, look at the kid. He's worthless" That's when I snapped. I don't know why, but the word "worthless" really got to me. "THATS IT!" I shouted. "I'M GOING IN TO THE FORREST AND CATCHING A POKEMON SO I CAN PROVE I'M NOT WORTHLESS!" "Gerard, you don't need to prove yourself to anyone, least of all Chad." said Mindy. But my mind was made up. I went to the store, bought a pokeball, and I was off. I saw how furious Cindy was with Chad. "Now look what you've done! You son of a-" Mindy saw some six-year-olds walking by and decided to cover her sister's mouth.

I stomped through the snow in the forrest, keeping my eye peeled for a Snover or Sneasel. A few times I saw something moving, but they always ran away when I got closer. After searching for about an hour, the worst thing possible happened. A blizzard started up. I couldn't see anything, so just aimlessly walked in circles.

After two hours of struggling to get home, I was exhausted and had lost all hope. I was about to lie down when I saw something in the sky. It looked like a shooting star, except it was blue. It was getting closer and closer. Then, I realized it was coming right for me! I ducked and waited for the crash, but it never came. When I looked up, standing in front of me was the biggest bird I had ever seen. It must have been at least ten feet tall. But the strangest part about it was that it was saying something.

"Hello child, I am the Legendary Pokemon known as Articuno" said the bird. "Your Articuno? I didn't know you could talk!" I said in amazement. "There are many things humans do not know about Legendary Pokemon," replied Articuno. "But I am not hear to teach you about are mysteries, but about fate." "Fate?" I asked, quite puzzled. "Yes, fate," replied the bird. "Fate is what brought you into this forrest today, for if you had not been here I may never have found you, and the whole world would have been at risk." "The world? What are you talking about?" I was getting more cofused by the second. "You are destined to help save the world, and it is my destiny to help guide you to greatness so this is possible. I would love to explain in detail, but I'm afraid there's no time. Someone very near us is in great danger, and I believe you are destined to be his master." Articuno pointed to a lump in the snow. I quickly ran over to it and dug it out. I lifted the object up. It was very soft and furry. That's when I realized what Articuno was talking about.

"It's a Swinub!" I said. The little pokemon lifted an eyelid. "It's alive, but barely. I need to get it home now. My dad can help it." "Get on my back" said the legendary bird.

Articuno quickly flew us home. We landed in my backyard. "I must go now," he said. "But we will meet again very soon." He flapped his wings and was off. I ran to my back door and knocked as hard as I could. Even though I was desperate to get the Swinub help, I somehow knew that he would be okay.

[spoiler=Chapter 2: A New Friend]

As I stood in the cold, waiting for someone to answer the door, I made a promise to the Swinub that he would get better. I know, it's kinda weird talking to something that is both unconsious and doesn't speak human, but I guess it was mostly to reassure myself. I felt as if it was my duty to make sure he was okay.

My mom answered the door. "Gerard! We were so worried! School finished hours ago! Where have you been?" "It's a long story," I explained. "But I can't explain now. This Swinub needs help!" My mom normally wants answers right away, but she has a soft spot for pokemon, so she took him to my dad right away.

After waiting for about an hour, my dad finally came out of his lab. "The Swinub will be fine," he said. "One week of resting and we can release him back into the wild. Now tell me, why were you out so long?" So I told my dad the story, without the part about Articuno. He's my dad and all, but some things are too hard to believe for anyone. He told me the same thing Mindy did, that I don't have to prove myself to anyone, and I was with him 100%. I almost died because some kid said I was worthless, and I'd never forget that.

So a week went by. Chad recieved a four-week suspension because of my near-death experience, and that was the single best birthday present I had ever recieved. I would have thought that was a bit harsh, but I consider the extra time punishment for how he's been treating me over the past few years. I visited Swinub often. Suprisingly, he didn't bite, scratch, or even growl when I got near him. As a matter of fact, he became extatic. My dad said he must have remembered me rescuing him. Me and Swinub had so much fun together that I was really upset when he had to go. I had never felt that way about a pokemon before.

"There you go, Swinub, you're free to go." said my dad as he set him in the backyard. Swinub walked a few steps, took a look at his surroundings, and then turned around and walked right back to me. "No, Swinub," I said. "It's time for you to go." But Swinub hopped right into my arms and fell asleep. "Well, Gerard," said my dad. "It looks like you have a new friend."

Tears of happiness formed in my eyes. Not only had I recieved my first pokemon, but a great friend. That night Swinub slept at the foot of my bed. That was the happiest day of my life so far, and I just knew it was Swinub's best too. But little did I know that the happiness wouldn't last for too long, because the next day was to bring great adventure.

[spoiler=Chapter 3: Confrontation]

I got up the next morning at 7 to get ready for school. Swinub was still fast asleep at the foot of my bed. As I ate my breakfast, the strangest thing crossed my mind: Is Swinub safe here while I'm at school? It probably had something to do with what Articuno said, about me saving the world and all, but I felt as if I needed to keep Swinub with me for him to be safe from whatever evil was out there. So with that, I went upstairs and put him in the pokeball I purchased the week before.

For my birthday, my dad got me a belt with six slots for pokeballs. Even though I wasn't showing any signs of having the pokegene, my parents believed in me all the way, even if i didn't. But now, there faith was paying off. I put on my new belt and put my first pokemon in. Wearing that belt made me feel like a brand new person, and like I was ready for anything that came my way. So with a new and improved additude, I was off to school.

Most everyone there noticed the shiny red and white sphere on my belt, and were quite impressed. "Nice job, man. Guess you must be Candice's kid after all" said some eighth graders. Even the teachers noticed the "Excellent, Gerard! Your parents must be so proud!" said Mr. Macmillan, my math teacher. I was really enjoying that day. Everything seemed easier, talking to people, the sports we played in P.E., and even classes. I had always been a B student, but that day I was on a roll. It felt as if nothing could go wrong.

Well, it did. I was walking home from school, as usual, when I had this strange feeling. I felt as if something was out of the ordinary. I looked around, and everything seemed fine. Teenagers were chatting, some younger kids were playing tag, Chad was starring at me with a smirk on his face, as usual. Wait, CHAD?!? What was he doing at school? He still had three weeks of suspension left! All I could do was keep my cool and hope he didn't pound me.

"Hey! Spylar! I gotta bone to pick with you! Get your butt over here!" he shouted. I just ignored him and kept walking. "You sissy!" he continued. "I didn't wait outside that school for an hour to watch you walk home, so get over here!" " I don't have to do anything you say Chad!" I shouted back. "The last time I payed attention to you it almost got me killed!" We were attracting lots of attention. There was a big crowd forming around the bully and me. I would have thought it was kinda funny how much it looked like something out of a movie if I wasn't so scared.

"Your good at hiding fear, kid," said Chad. "But I can see how much you wanna run home right now." "All I want is for you to stop wasting your time" I replied with confidence. "I told you, I'm not listening, because out in that blizzard, I had lots of time to think about way you screw with my head. In the end, I realized that the only reasoned you wasted your time tormenting me is because your jealous. Jealous that I'm not a hateful low-life piece of crap like you."

Everyone fell silent, including me. I had NO idea where I got the courage to say all that. But it felt really good. The only problem was that now, Chad was furious, and he was charging at me like an angry bull. I didn't know what to do. I was trapped. Then, I got a great idea.

"Go, Swinub!" I shouted as I tossed the pokeball into the air. I had taken the time to learn my pokemon's attacks the day before, and I was glad I did. "Swinub, use powder snow!" I commanded. Chad was completely thrown off guard. He was hit with an cold blast of snow from my Swinub, and very confused. "Now use mud sport!" I said. Swinub covered himself in mud. Normally, this is done to lower the damage of electric attacks, but I had another plan. "Swinub, use tackle!" I said. Swinub tackled Chad, completely covering him in mud. Chad was still furious, but now he was also terrified. He shoved his way through the crowd and ran home.

Everyone started cheering for me and my Swinub (I wasn't Chad's only victim). We were both heroes. But the celebrating didn't last to long. "Get outta the way!" shouted Cindy as she made her way through the crowd, Mindy right behind her. "There he is" said Mindy, pointing to me. "Gerard, you need to come with us right away." she said. She tugged me through the crowd and toward my house. She looked really worried. "Gerard, did you happen to obtain that pokemon in a sort of strange way?" asked Mindy. I hesitated for a moment. "Yes, I did" I answered. Cindy decided to cut to the chase. "If it involved a Legendary Pokemon, then the same thing happened to us."

[spoiler=Chapter 4: ”Today Your Adventure Begins“]

The three of us shared our stories. Apparently, something very similar had happened to Mindy and Cindy. As they were walking home from school, they heard a strange noise coming from the forrest. Cindy had decided to go and check it out, but Mindy, who was always very cautious, decided to stay behind. She waited outside the forrest until she heard her sister screaming. She had no choice but to go in.

Mindy found her sister a few minutes later. But that wasn't all she found. In front of Cindy were two of the largest...things they had ever seen. They, just like Articuno, had the ability to speak. They presented themselves as the Deoxys of Attack, who was sent to guide Cindy, and the Deoxys of Defense, who was sent to guide Mindy. They had repeated, nearly word for word, the things Articuno had said. After explaining that Cindy and Mindy were destined to help save the word, they led them to two pokemon, a Teddyursa and a Phampy, being chased up a tree by a Weavile. Cindy had held out her arms for the Teddyursa to jump into, and Mindy for the Phampy. They got the small pokemon away from the Weavile, safe and sound. With that, the Deoxys twins said that they had to leave, but would meet the two of them again soon, and then flew off.

After the twins' story, I told mine. Once I was finished, we had come to the conclusion that since all three of us had encountered legendary pokemon, the same thing must have been happening to other people around the world. There was only one question left in my mind. "Hey guys, how did you know the same thing had happened to me?" I asked them. Mindy started to look quite upset. "That is very hard to explain, Gerard, We're going to need to show you." At that moment we arrived at my house.

Or at least, where my house once was. It had been replaced by a mysterious, dark hole in the ground. I couldn't believe my eyes. That was why I had doubted my Swinub's safety that morning. The only problem was that I had never thought if my parents were safe either. I had never felt more guilty.

"The same thing happened to our house, with the same note" said Cindy. "What note?" I asked. Cindy pointed at a slip of paper on the ground, next to the gaping hole. I picked it up and read it.

Dear Human,

The Legendary Pokemon were foolish enough to locate you in broad daylight. I observed from above as they explained your false destiny to you. I watched as you went back to your home, and I then knew where the people most precious to you lived. It is because of them your families are gone. Your destiny was to fall, not triumph. You must learn two lessons from this experience. The first is to not trust the Legends, and the second is to not go against me. I know that you still have someone very important to you with you right now, and they could very well be next, so I suggest that you stand back while your world crumbles.

Erida, Queen of the Chaos Legion

At that moment I felt hate for two beings more than anything else. The first was this Erida person, and the second was Articuno, for making my parents death possible. I was overwhelmed with rage. I felt as if my body was on fire. I thought I couldn't get any more mad when the ice bird swooped down from the sky. "YOU KILLED MY PARENTS!" I screamed at the top of my lungs. "HOW COULD YOU LET THIS HAPPEN!?! I THOUGH YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO HELP ME!" "Gerard, had I known this would happen, I would have never set foot on Earth" said Articuno. I could see tears forming in his eyes. He obviously felt very sorry, but at the moment I was to mad to care. "That doesn't change the fact that they're dead!" I said. With that, I started sobbing crazily. I fell to my knees, feeling pathetic. I was starting to wonder what would would become of me when I heard a strange, almost computerized voice say "Gerard, your parents are still alive."

I looked up and saw another two pokemon that had been described in legends. "Your two of the four Deoxyses, aren't you?" I asked. I realized that I must have been too mad to notice they were there. "Are my parents really still alive?" I continued. "Yes, they are" said the second Deoxys. "As the woman Erida and her army flead from Earth, the Legendary Council was about to attack." I figured the Legendary Council was the organization behind our recruit. "Then, we noticed that every one of the captives were still alive and well. An attack would have been too risky, so we stayed back. If she hadn't killed your parents by then, she obviously still wants them alive."

I was relieved. If my parents were still alive, that ment that I could still rescue them. My only question was, How?

Articuno answered that. "Gerard, Mindy, and Cindy, You must now make a choice. You can stay on Earth and hopefully find foster parents and simply forget this ever happened, or you can take a much, much harder path. This path could mean lots of pain and possibly your death, but this one is the one that will lead you to your family. You must all assemble a very powerful pokemon team and find the others like you. Arceus has sensed that Erida will make her final move that will determine the fate of the planet exatly one year from today. On that day, the Legendary Humans must gather at the peak of Mt. Coronet, where us Legendary Pokemon will be waiting. Because of the publicity we would gain if we gathered anywhere else, this is our only choice. That is also why we must leave you now, for humans will come soon. So tell me Legends, do you accept your fate?" I thought of how much easier it would be to stay at home and live in an orphanage, and realized my life would be more miserable than ever. "I accept!" the three of us said together. "Goodbye for now, humans" said the first Deoxys. "Today your adventure begins." With that, they were off.

[spoiler=Chapter 5: Forrest Kid]

We had to flee from Snowpoint before the cops came and took us to an orphanage. So that would mean we would be living the life of real pokemon trainers, hiking in the day and camping in the woods at night. But before we left, there were some thing that we needed.

We went to the store and purchased the various things we needed, such as backpacks, food, pokeballs, and potions for our new pokemon. It was kind of strange knowing that that would be our last public appearence in Snowpoint, but it was for our parents' sake.

We hiked south, seeing as warmer weather would make camping easier. We didn't talk much, because we all needed some time to think about the things that had happened to us. I was no longer mad at Articuno, seeing as he had been ready to defeat Erida as she left Earth. I was important to him, so I felt bad for hurting his feelings. I made a mental note to thank him for his help. Another thing I thought about was how Articuno had said we needed to assemble a powerful pokemon team. I was greatful that the way I could save my parents was by doing something that I had longed to do my entire life. By saving them I would prove that believing in me had not been a waste of time.

We had been walking along Route 217 for hours, but we hadn't seen a single house or building. The closest city was Eterna, and getting there would take at least another three days of hiking. We decided that we would have to camp in the forrest for that night. We were just about to set up the tent we had bought when I heard a twig snap. I turned around and saw a boy who looked a little younger than I was. As soon as he saw me he turned around and ran. "Hey, wait up!" I shouted as I ran after him.

I chased the kid through the forrest. I was faster than him, but he knew where he was going a lot better than I did. He obviously spent a lot of time there. Eventually, I caught up to the him. "You don't have to run away, I'm not gonna bite. What's your name?" I asked. "D-d-drew S-samps-son." he responded. "What are you doing in the forrest this late, Drew?" I said. "Well, um, I k-kinda live h-here" he said. "Live here? No wonder you know this place so well" I said. "Where are your parents?" "Well, um, I, uh, I live here by myself" continued Drew. "By yourself, wow! That's funny, because me and my friends are living by ourselves too" I explained. I was surprised when he told me that at first, but we were doing the same thing. "Do you want to stay at our camp for the night?" I asked him. "You must be pretty lonely out here." "It looks looks like there might be rain tonight, and I have my Trapinch to keep me company" he said, sounding a little more confident. "But I don't want you and your friends to get wet." Then, his face lit up. "I know, you could stay at my house! It keeps the rain out really well, and there's plenty of space." Just then, Cindy came out of the bushes. She scared Drew and he ran behind my back. "Gerard, what are you doing? We need help setting up the tent!" "No need," I said "Meet Drew. He's offering to let us stay at his house for the night. He said it's really roomy." Mindy had caught up to her sister. It made Drew even more scared. "Don't worry kid, they're with me." I said to him. "F-follow me. M-my house is th-this way." said Drew.

We followed him for a while until we reached the coolest house I'd ever seen. It was made of bark and mud and other various things found in the forrest. When we walked into the house, I was surprised at how warm it was. It must have been near a hot spring. There were two beds, a table, and a stove. In the corner, there was a little bed that looked about the right size for a small pokemon. As if on cue, a little Trapinch scuttled in just before Drew shut the door. "There you are!" he said. "I was looking for him when you found me" he explained.

It was getting pretty late, so we got ready for bed. The house even had a bathroom with full plumbing! At this point, I knew Drew hadn't done this all by himself. Mindy and Cindy offered me the second bed, so they layed out there sleeping bags. "Drew, I have a question" I said. "How did you end up living in the forrest with a house that has heat and plumbing?" "Oh, well, that's a really long story, and its getting late, so I'll tell you all about it in the morning." said Drew. I was fine with that, seeing as I was exhausted. I fell asleep awaiting a story the next morning.

[spoiler=Chapter 6: Drew's Story]

I slept a lot better than I thought I would, given the events of the previous day. I guess I was exhausted from hiking down Route 217. But we were all awake now, and Drew was about to begin his story.

"Three years ago, my parents died in a car crash. We were pretty poor, so the bank took our house, furniture, and anything else that could help pay off their debt. But my parents loved pokemon, and so do I. So the one thing that they were able to put in my will was our family pet, Trapinch. A cool thing about our Trapinch is this tiny sword-shaped birthmark on his back. My dad always said that the mark symbolized his endurance, but back to the story. The bank almost repossed Trapinch as well, but when a Social Services worker took him from me, he bit her on the hand and ran into the forrest, towards Mt. Coronet. I lived in Celestic Town, by the way.

"Anyway, I was dumped in an orphanage, and trust me, those places are even worse than movies depict them. Everyone there treated me like crap, except for one kid. His name was Audrey, and he was three years older than me. We both regonized eachother's interest in pokemon and quickly became friends. He apperently used to have a Machoke, which was taken away from him like they took my Trapinch. Another one of his interests was engineering and architecture. He wanted to build structures when he grew up. He had shown me some of his blueprints, which I didn't understand at first. But after he gave me a little lesson about building things, I realized how ingenous they were, and that he had too much potential to be in that dump of an orphanage. Sometimes, I wondered if I should tell him that he should escape, but I was selfish and didn't want to risk losing my only friend.

"Every day, I started feeling more and more guilty about not telling him to leave, until one day, I couldn't hold it in anymore. I ran to his room, in tears, and told him that he had too much potential to be in the orphanage. Since he was an engineer prodigy, I told him an escape would be simple enough for him. Then he smiled at me and said 'Yeah, I realized that a long time ago, and I've been working on an escape ever since you arrived.' That confused me, because I had been there for two-and-a-half years, and I knew that he could plan an escape in less time than that, so I asked him about that. 'As a matter of fact, this place is very easy to get out of, once you've studied and made blueprints like I did.' he continued 'But the tricky part is getting two people out. There's not a single exit that would work for the both of us. Planning a two person escape is what took so long.' 'The both of us?' I asked. 'What, you thought I would leave you behind? You're the little brother I always wanted.' I started crying even harder. It was then that I realized that Audrey didn't just think of me as just a friend, but as his family. 'Hey, don't drench my carpet!' he joked. 'We gotta go get some dinner. Hiking through the forrest is hard to do on an empty stomach' 'We're leaving tonight?!?' I asked. 'Yeah, I actually finished double-checking my plans when you ran in here'

"That night, Audrey showed me how he had tinkered with and expanded the ventalation shafts. Not only did it make our escape easier, but it also sucked the heat from the room of the evil woman in charge of us and sent it to the other kids' rooms. We crawled through the labrynth Audry had created for about half an hour, until we saw a tiny bit of moonlight leaking through a vent. 'The drop from that vent is about five feet, but we'll land in snow, so we should be fine' he said. We hopped down and landed in the cuishon of snow beneath us. Audry had enough supplies for a week, so we hiked day after day, until the supplies ran out when we were somewhere in Snowpoint Forrest. Our original plan was to get all the way to Snowpoint, but we were exhaused and starving, so we put up a tent, shared the last candy bar we had, and fell asleep.

"When I woke up the next morning, Audry had a suprise for me. He had put in the foundation to a house! 'Last night, I thought about what would have happened if we had made it to Snowpoint,' he said 'And I realized that they would just stick us in another orphanage. I can become a famous engineer when I grow up, but for now, I need to take care of you! So, lets get to work!' So we started building the coolest house ever. Aubry even managed to get heat and plumbing! And that's where I lived until about a week ago. It started when I was out in the forrest the other day, inspecting our piping system, when something really wierd happened. This'll sound crazy, but I need you guys too believe me." Drew looked at us for an answer. I was excited that we had probably found one of us. "If it had something to do with a Legendary Pokemon, then the same thing happened to us. That's most likely why we found you." I said. Drew looked relived. "That makes this a lot easier!" he said "I'll continue."

"I wasn't being very carful when I was unscrewing one of the valves, so a burst of 150 degree steam came out and would have left me a pretty bad scar, had someone, or something, hadn't knocked me out of the way. I looked up and saw the Legendary Pokemon Darkrai!

"Since you guys are legends, your guides probably told you pretty much the same stuff, about greatness and his help. Once he was done with that, he said that he had to leave because an old friend was coming to visit me. Then he dissapeared and I started to hear a little scuttle that I hadn't heard in years. From behind a tree, out hopped my Trapinch! He had been looking for me all those years, and I really started to believe what my dad had said about his birthmark. But another great thing was that he hadn't traveled alone. Following Trapinch was a light-green Machoke, which I realized must have been Audrey's. He told me stories about the shiny Machoke all the time. I quickly ran back home, the pokemon following me, and we had a big family reunion. That week was the best of my life, and was followed by my worst"

"About five days later, I came home from taking my Trapinch for a walk when I was met with the most shocking site ever. My house was completely gone! I shouted for Audrey, but he wasn't anywhere to be found. I went and looked down into the gaping hole where my home once was and noticed this wedged between some rocks"

Drew took out a note identical to the one Cindy, Mindy, and I had. Once again, I felt my hate for Erida. She had destroyed the family of a child who only just began to know the feeling of belonging. With every copy of this note I saw, my need to stop Erida's global domination grew. Drew continued his story:

"After I read the note, I became furious. I couldn't contain my anger. I punched everything I saw until Darkrai came. He looked really worried, which I thought was a really strange emotion to see on something with such great power. He apoligized for the mistake he made of visiting me and presented me with a note he said flew out of one space prisons Erida had."

Drew took out another note from his pocket. It had his name In big, neat handwriting on the front. He opened it so we could read:

Dear Drew,

If this note makes it to you, you're in major luck. I knew that someday, authorities might find out that two kids are living in the woods, and that you don't like the cold so much, so I built us a second house! I wanted to tell you on your birthday, but that's not really an option anymore. I was plannig for us to live there in the winter, because its down in the southern part of Route 217 and would be a lot warmer. It's a bit of a hike, but I stashed some supplies in that hollowed out tree you like in case we ever needed to make a quick getaway. I can't really understand what's going on right now, but I do know that you're gonna have to fight some kinda war on the side of the Legendary Pokemon against this hag that kidnapped me. I know you can do it, kid. You're stronger than you think. If you're teammates are half as good as you, I'll be outta here in know time.

You're big bro,

Audrey

Below the note was a map that lead from somewhere in Snowpoint Forrest to the location we were in.

"Darkrai told me to stay at the house Audrey built, because people that would help me would be coming soon. And here you are!" said Drew. "Wow, kid! You're a great storyteller! You sounded a lot more confident when you were talking." said Cindy. "I guess i picked that up from my dad. He was also pretty shy and quiet, but he told the best stories" said Drew. "Now that we're all caught up, we should probably go" said Mindy. "Not before we eat! I'm starving!" I blurted out. Mindy gave me a harsh look for bieng so impolite. "Well, Audrey always said I made great spaghetti, and I'm hungry too, so I'll get get you guys fed in no time!" said Drew.

[spoiler=Chapter 7: First Chaos Enounter]

After we ate, it was time to go. "Will this house still be here when we're done with our quest?" asked Drew. "Erida thinks you quit. There's no reason for her to watch us anymore, so she doesn't even know this house exists. We'll sure suprise her!" I said as I opened the door. Outside were four legendary pokemon aplauding us. Three were ones I had met before, and the fourth one I had only heard about in legend. "Well done, children!" said Darkrai. "You're team is growing quite fast. Now thhat there are enough of you, we can tell you an easy way to find the rest." The Deoxys of Attack took over from there. "Each one of you legends gives off a sort of aura that makes you detcteble by legendary pokemon and humans alike. The more legends you have encountered, the stronger you're power becomes. With one, two, or even three of you, the power to detect other legends is nearly unusable. But now that you are four, you will be able to pick up a small amount of positive, but strong energy. I don't believe there are any more legends near by, but give your new power a try. Just concentrate on the legends really hard."

We all tried this out, and I did feel something, but it felt a little more- "Negative," said Mindy "I concentrated like you said, and I felt a little bit of that aura, but it was definently negative." Suddenly, Articuno, who hadn't spoken until now, started to look horrified. "We need to get out of this forrest now! All of you, get on one of our backs!" I started to climb onto Darkrai's back when something wrapped around my legs and tripped me. "Erida found us!" said Defence Deoxys. "That negative energy you felt means that a member of her Chaos Legion is near by!" I looked up and saw a small bug pokemon, Wurmple. Only this Wurmple was a dark shade of violet rather than red. From the trees, hundreds and hundreds of Wurmple started dropping. "Erida's Chaos warriors take the shape of different pokemon while on earth, depending on the warrior's rank. All though these ones are weak, there's strength in numbers, and there is a big number of Chaos Wurmple's here right now" "How do we stopped them?" asked Drew. "Even though they aren't really pokemon, they're defeated in the same way; with a pokemon battle!" said Articuno.

With that, the Deoxys twins began to change shape to their true forms and we sent out our pokemon. "Go! Swinub!" I shouted as I tossed his pokeball high in the air. Along with Cindy, Mindy, and Drew's pokemon, we had a total team of eight. Looking back on our battle, I realized our teamwork was amazing. Attack Deoxys launched psybeams in every direction, while Defence Deoxys blocked all the poison stings and string shots aimed at hi brother. Swinub and Articuno would freeze the Chaos warriors solid so that Trapinch and Darkrai could smash them to bits almost effortlesssly. Mindy's Teddiursa used multiple fury swipes to weaken her opponents, and Cindy's Phampy delivered the final blows with rollout.

Once we had defeated the very last Chaos Warrior, Darkrai turned to us and said "Continue south, for that is where I believe the rest of the legends are. But travel with caution. Because you have now had your first chaos encounter, Erida knows you haven't given up. This was only a test drive for her. Next time, the warriors won't be so low rank. There are also problems in space, so we must return now. But remember, we will always help you when you need us." The four pokemon gave us sort of a smile, and then, they were off.

[spoiler=Chapter 8: Windworks Catching Spree]

We walked along Route 217 for days. We were tired and paraniod from the Chaos Encounter, but after a long walk, I could finally see the very top of the Eterna Gym, a building filled with trainers to battle you and see if you were worthy enough to battle the leader. I thought it would have been a fun stop, but I knew we needed to stick to our task.

You'd thing that fate would let us have a little bit of luck, right. Well, no. The second I spotted the building, two masked teenagers hoppe out of a tree and tackled Drew. "Give us your pokeball!" said the taller of the two. "Lay off, Jerk!" shouted Cindy. She grabbed her pokeball from her belt and was about to toss it when Mindy stopped her. "Don't," she said. "It might only make things worse." "Then how are we supposed to save Drew?" I asked.

As if on cue, a boy who looked about the age of a highschool senior came out from behind a tree. "Ahem, can I help you?" he said. "Oh, crap! It's that Alex kid." whispered the shorter bandit. "Um, I can here you." said Alex. "Are you going to give the kid his pokeball, or do I have to fight you for it? Don't even think of running, because if you know me, then you know I can run faster than you." The short bandit gave Drew his pokeball back, and was about to walk away when the taller one whispered something in his ear and swiped Drew's pokeball again. "Hey!" shouted Drew. "Alright," said the tall teenager. "We'll take you, six on twelve, winner takes the kid's pokemon." "I don't think so." said Alex. It was amazing how calm he was. "I'm entitled to a partner too. At six o'clock tomorrow, I will have one and the four of us will meet here." The two bandits were about to turn him down, but he glanced at Drew and continued. "Of course, it wouldn't be fair if I offered this boy's pokemon as a prize, so instead, we will battle for this." Alex held up a black and white pokeball with blue lettering that read ABSOL. "Your best one?!? Okay then, we will be here at six o'clock." said the taller bandit, and the two of them headed home.

"Thanks for the help!" I said to Alex. "No problem! What's your name?" he asked. "I'm Gerard Spylar, and these are my friends Mindy, Cindy, and Drew." I replied. "Hello, legends!" said Alex. That really caught me off guard, but Alex quickly explained. "I'm a legend too. My legendary guide, Mewtwo, that four more would come in this direction soon and need my help, and here you are!" he said. Now that he mentioned it, I was sensing a bit of that positive energy that Attack Deoxys had talked about. It had increased in power a little bit as well, just like he said it would. "Well, that explains a lot." I said. "Anyway, who are you going to pick as a battle partner?" "That's an easy choice, I pick you." he responded. "Me?!?" I asked. "I barely have any experience battling!" "What better way to practice?" Alex said with a smile. "I guess, but I only have one pokemon." I said. "Oh, I can change that. Do you guys know about the pokemon migration at Valley Windworks?" he asked. We all shook our heads.

"After the clash between Dialga and Palkia a few years back, a few pokemon migrated from other regions to Sinnoh, because it became the most peaceful pokemon region on Earth. The few that left their old homes spread out across Sinnoh, but more than half of the foriegn pokemon population migrated to Valley Windworks, because of the calming breeze that passes through in the summer. But where there's a mass rare pokemon migration, there's a mass trainer migration too. Tonight, some of my buddies are going there to catch some pokemon, and they'd be happy to let you share their Salamence for tonight!"

A few hours later, we were all riding on the back of various bird and dragon pokemon. I was riding a Salamence with Drew, Mindy and Cindy rode a Staraptor, and alex and his two friends shared a Flygon. Drew had let his Trapinch out for the ride. "You see that, Trapinch?" he said, pointing at the Flygon. "You're gonna look like that when you grow up!" Trapinch seemed to be paying less attention to Drew and more to the amount of space between him and the ground. Eventually, we landed in a vast, flat field that was dotted with windmills. "We'll need to head back to Eterna in about an hour, so let's get going!" said one of Alex's friends. Alex had decided to watch the flying pokemon, seeing as he wasn't interested in catching anything.

We split up into teams of two, the same as we had been on the ride there. Drew and I started searching around the bases of the windmills, but didn't have much luck. After fifteen minutes, we decided that we would find more pokemon in the open fields. That was when things started getting fun. Not before long, Drew was confronted by a huge Gulpin. "Go, Trapinch!" he shouted. It was a fast battle between the two, because the Gulpin's poison attacks didn't work on Trapinch, being a ground type. Once Gulpin was worn out, Drew through a pokeball he had purchased earlier and the pokemon was his! "I did it! I caught a pokemon!" he shouted with glee. I gave him a high five and he headed back to where Alex was.

I figured I would have an easy time finding a pokemon too, but I didn't. I searched for another half an hour, but that Drew finding that Gulpin must have been pure luck. I was about to sit down for a break when I heard the grass rustling. I stood very still, waiting for something to happen. The grass rustled a little more, and then the pokemon jumped up and tackled me with all its might.

The wind was knocked out of me and I was pretty banged up. I looked up and saw a Mareep staring right into my eyes. Running would have been a good idea, but I wasn't gonna pass up a chance like this. "Swinub, Go!" I shouted as I threw his pokeball. Swinub was ready for action. "Start off with mud sport." I commanded. Swinub covered himself in mud to protect himself from the Mareep's electric attacks. "Now try tackling it." Swinub charged at Mareep, but the sheep pokemon was to quick. It dodged out of the way and countered with static. It didn't affect Swinub at all. "Swinub, if he lands one headbutt, it's game over. Slow it down with powder snow!" I shouted. Swinub blasted the Mareep with an icy wind, and sure enough, he was slowed down. "Finish him off with mud slap!" I commanded. Mareep was splattered with mud and exhausted. I threw a pokeball in it's direction and it dissapeared in a flash of white light.

I had caught a pokemon.

[spoiler=Chapter 9: Extensive Training]

On the ride home, we all showed off our new pokemon. Mindy had caught a Lunatone, and Cindy had caught a Solrock. Alex's friends had caught a Spheal and a Beldum and were very proud, as those are two of Hoenn's most prized pokemon. Drew wanted to show everyone his new Gulpin, but our Salamence would groan and start to tilt downward every time he tried to release it.

Out of all the pokemon shown, however, everyone complemented me and said that I had done the best job. My Mareep obviously had a very agressive nature. Alex had explained that when a pokemon like that was caught, it normally wouldn't obey its trainer because of it's lost dignaty. In my Mareep's case, though, it respected me because only a skilled trainer could have captured it. Alex said that with a pokemon like that, I was sure to win the battle with him.

"So, Alex, where should we sleep?" I asked him. "That's easy, the Eterna Gym." he responded. "What?!? Who gave us permission to stay there?" "I did." We were all confused, so Alex started to explain. "My friend from highschool, Leo, is the son of the old gym leader, Gardiena. He and I are both legends. Because the families of all the legends dissapeared, Gardiena did as well. After the two of us came home one day to find our families gone, Mewtwo and Shaymin, his legendary guide, told Leo to travel and search for other legends, but that I should stay and wait for more legends to arrive."

"Next to Gardiena, Leo and I were the two most experienced pokemon trainers in town. With Leo gone, I was the first choice as the new gym leader. Right now, I'm just waiting for some pokemon league scouts to visit me. Apperantly, I just gotta show them my stuff and I'm Eterna's new gym leader. Until then, I am free to use the building as living quarters. It has plenty of space, so the four of you are welcome to stay."

Alex was right about the space. The gym's basement was just one huge living space, with plenty of beds normally used by trainers. "Sleep well, because we're training hard tomorrow!" Alex told me. I was really excited to use my new pokemon.

The next day, Alex woke me up at 6 o'clock. "C'mon, kid! Only twelve more hours to train!" I reluctantly dragged myself out of bed and was about to get dressed when Alex pulled me out the door. "No time for that! We need to practice in pajamas!" He was really starting to annoy me.

Alex explained that he would be using the pokemon owned by the gym, because his personal pokemon were too powerful. "Go, Psyduck!" he said as he threw a pokeball in the air. The Psyduck looked clueless, like all others of its kind. "That's too easy! Go, Mareep!" I shouted. Mareep was pumped for its first battle with me. "Mareep, use thundershock!" A large bolt of electricity hit Psyduck, launching it across the field. "Good, but not quite enough," said Alex "Psyduck, try mud bomb." "Huh?" Psyduck hurdled a giant ball of mud at Mareep. It was a direct hit, and Mareep was down and out. "When people battle a Psyduck, they tend to use electric-types. By teaching it a strong ground-type move, the Psyduck becomes a very difficult opponent." explained Alex.

I battled the various gym-owned for eleven hours straight, only stopping twice for breakfast and lunch. At five o'clock, both my pokemon and I were exhausted. "You need a break," Alex told me. "Or you won't stand a chance in the battle. Go out to the garden behind the gym and rest." At that point, nothing he could have said would've made me happier.

I lied down in the grass and let out my two pokemon. Mareep decided to walk around and graze, but Swinub cuddled up next to me and took a nap. I can't think of a better preperation technique than that. My only regret was that I couldn't lay there forever.

[spoiler=Chapter 10: Showdown with the Pokethieves]

Chapter 10

Finally, the moment of truth came. At 5:58, we were waiting in the excact same spot we had encountered the pokethieves the day before. As well prepared as I was, I couldn't help but feel nervous. At last, the two masked teenagers appeared from behind some trees, and they quickly agreed on some rules with Alex. After talking it over with him, the tall teenager announced the rules:

"This will be an eight-on-twelve pokemon battle. Only one pokemon can be used at a time. When all pokemon from one of the teams have been defeated, the match is over. The winning team will be awarded Alex Spear's Absol." With that, the event began.

We had agreed that Alex would start, but it was only then that I realized I had never seen his pokemon in action. "I'll start. Go, Manectric!" he shouted. That's when I finally understood Alex's strategy. I remembered something he had said the day before: Don't think there's a third option, because you know I can outrun you both. He specialized in pokemon with high speed and agility!

"Go, Weezing!" the tall teenager shouted. I knew that this would be a easy job for Alex. "This'll be quick. Manectric, use thunderbolt!" The pokemon fired a massive bolt of lightning at the Weezing and struck him straight out of the sky. The bandits' first pokemon was out in one attack. It was the short teenager's turn. "This proves nothing! Go, Roserade!" he shouted. The grass pokemon put up more of a fight. Launching razor-leaves at Manectric from every different angle was starting to wear him down. "I'll save you for later." said Alex. "Manectric, return. Go, Arcanine!" Now the Roserade was in trouble. "Use flamethrower!" Roserade was fried to a crisp, which left the score 2-0 for us. The bandits' next three pokemon, Dustox, Frostlass, and Magneton were also no match for the fire pokemon, but then things started getting messy. "You brought me to this." said the tall bandit. "Wailord, Go!" I had never seen a real Wailord before, and it was a spectacle. The pokemon was easily the size of two Eterna gyms. "Use hydro pump!" commanded the tall teenager. Arcanine was torrented with hundreds of gallons of water, which left him out for the game.

"Congrats! You took out our first pokemon, but now we'll return the favor." said Alex confidently. "Gerard, I'd say you're up." At first I thought that he had lost his mind, but then I remembered my secret weapon.

"Ok Mareep, you're up!" I said. "Start out with thunder wave." I commanded. Mareep sent a week jolt of electricity through Wailord's body, making it harder for the huge pokemon to move. "That doesn't matter! Wailord, use water pulse!" shouted the tall bandit. I was expecting that. "Mareep, dodge!" The pokemon got out of the way just in time. "Try again, Wailord!" shouted the bandit, but Marerp dodged yet again. "Keep trying!" he shouted. This was just what I was hoping for. The Wailord became wetter with each attack. Finally, enough water had accumulated for my plan to work. "Now, Mareep! Use cotton spore!"

The massive pokemon was dotted with millions of little wads of cotton. They added even more weight, blurred the pokemon's vision, and, because they were wet, made it conduct electricity even more. "Okay Mareep, finish him off with a few thundershocks!" That did the trick. The Wailord couldn't counter, so he was defeated, leaving the score 5-1.

"Good job Mareep, come back!" I said with glee. "I can take it from here" said Alex. "Go, Ninjask!" The short bandit released an Infernape. "Oh no, Ninjask is toast!" I said. Bug pokemon are no match for fire-types. "I wouldn't be so sure." said Alex "Ninjask, use aireal ace!" I had forgotten that flying attacks are good against fighting-types. The secondary types of the two pokemon made this an even match.

The Infernape had taken quite a blow. "C'mon! Finish him off with overheat!" commanded his trainer. But Ninjask was too quick. "Quick, aeroblast!" shouted Alex. The power of the attack was too much for Infernape. He was out cold, giving us an even bigger lead.

Ninjask was defeated by the bandits' Probopass, but the rock-type was easily taken out by Alex's Sceptile. Sceptile plowed through the bandits' team, taking down an Aggron, a Luxray, and a Claydol. At that point, each bandit had only one pokemon left. "Now, we'll really let you have it! Feel the wrath of these pokemon we snatched earlier!" Both teenagers threw a pokeball, and out came two pokemon. The first was a Spiritomb, and the second was a very familiar looking Trapinch. "Hey, that's Drew's pokemon! It's got the special birthmark on its back!" I said to Alex. "Hmm, so even though you two lowlifes are in this battle as a replacement for your raid, you still decided to go after your original prize?" Alex asked the thieves. "I think that you two should be disqualified, unless you give up the Trapinch." The teens looked at eachother, and then made a reluctant decision. "Fine, have it." The short one whined as he passed us Drew's pokeball. "This Spiritomb will still take you down."

They were almost right. The Spiritomb had tremedous power. Alex's Sceptile, Starmie, and Manectric put up a good fight, but even they couldn't defeat the powerful ghost-type. It was all up to our last two pokemon. "Go, Absol!" shouted Alex as he through his special pokeball. "Start with bite!" he commanded. Absol bit the Spiritomb with his powerful fangs. Spiritomb hadn't taken much damage, but it was a start. "Now use future sight!" Absol glowed for a few seconds, but nothing happened. The bandits thought that Absol's attack had been a dud and started to laugh, but I knew that in a few minutes the attack would work and hit the Spiritomb with a powerful psychic blast.

"Try night slash!" commanded Alex. Absol tried to slash the ghost with his powerful claws, but the bandits had their own plans. "Spiritomb, use teleport!" The pokemon dissapeared just as Absol slashed. "Now use dark pulse!" A ball of dark energy was hurtled at Absol from behind. It caught him off guard, and he was thrown into the trees. "Absol, can you keep going?" asked Alex. Absol tried to stand up, but it was no good. "Absol, return!" he shouted. "Gerard, it's all up to you." He still looked as calm as ever. "I know you can do this."

I nervously grabbed my Swinub's pokeball. "C'mon, Swinub we can do this!" Fortunantly, Swinub was much more confident than I was. "Start out with powder snow!" Swinub hit the Spiritomb with a powerful icy blast. He had become much stronger since his first battle. "Spiritomb, shake it off and counter with hypnosis!" shouted the bandit. Swinub started to get drowsy. "Swinub, snap out of it and try mud slap!" He was starting to drift off, but his attack managed to hit. "C'mon little guy, wake up!" Swinub was fast asleep now. "Perfect!" shouted the bandit. "Now, Spiritomb, use dream eater!" Swinub was a goner. Only a miracle could have saved him.

Which it did. Absol's future sight kicked in and hit Spiritomb. Being a psychic attack, it didn't do any damage, but it stalled him, stopped his attack, and best of all, woke Swinub. "Hooray!" I shouted. "Here's your chance Swinub, use mud bomb!" And that was that. Spiritomb had been defeated, and Alex's Absol had been saved! "I can't thank you enough, kid; You really came through" He said once I returned Swinub. Then, I heard a pretty wierd noise. It sounded like, applause.

I turned around to we that quite a big crowd had gathered at the site of our battle. In it were Cindy, Mindy, Drew, many Eternians, and a few people in expensive-looking suits. One of them came up to Alex. "I believe you are Alex Spear. Am I correct?" he asked. "Yeah, that's me" Alex replied. "I am a scout for the Pokemon League, and I came here to Eterna City to give you a gym leader evaluation test. However, when I arrived, I was told by that young gentleman," He pointed towards Drew. "That I would find you here, in a battle set up to protect his pokemon from getting stolen. I must say your skills amaze me. I would like you to be Eterna City's new Pokemon League Gym Leader."

"But I didn't win, Gerard did. How can you accept me?" I now saw for the first time that this loss had bruised Alex's pride. It hurt me to see a person as calm and happy as him so upset. "Of course you won! You both did!" said the scout. "Had it not been for you planning ahead with future sight at the end there, this boy's Swinub would've been a goner. Besides, your opponent's team consisted of four more pokemon that yours, and you still managed to come through. I think that you passed this exam with flying colors. So, will you accept the job?" The pep talk seemed to have cheered him up, but he still seemed to be thinking about it. "I think I better talk it over with my friend first" he said. Alex turned and faced me. "So, Gerard, should I follow you and your friends on that adventure, or should I stay here?" he asked me. "I think you'll attract a lot of those special trainers we talked about if you stay, and we can always stop by if we need anything." The scout was sort of puzzled, but he forgot the wierd conversation as soon as Alex accepted and became Eterna's new gym leader. "Before we leave, though," I said to Alex as I walked over to the pokethieves and took their pokeballs. "I'm going to personally help you return all of these pokemon to their rightful owners." I passed Drew's Trapinch back to him. "Now, who's should return first?" asked Alex.

"How 'bout mine?" said a chillingly familiar voice. I turned around and saw a face that I had last seen covered in mud from Swinub's first battle. "Chad!?!"

Edit: I ran out of space on the first post, so the rest of the chapters go here

[spoiler=Chapter 11: Chad Screws Up]

There was a big moment of silence where Chad and I just stared at eachother. Finally, he broke it. "Long time no see, jerk." "I'm the jerk?!? I'm pretty sure YOU'RE the one that almost got me killed!" I started to think that mabye this argument was not best to have when a huge crowd of people standing around us, but I was too mad to care. "Relax, kid. I just want my Spiritomb back." he said. Both Alex and I were unable to speak. HIS Spiritomb?!? Since when did Chad care about pokemon? "This obviously isn't the best place to talk." said Alex. "Let's head back to the gym."

We were aplaudded once more by the Eternians, and then the six of us headed back towards the gym, away from the crowd. Since it was a nice day, we decided to go sit in the garden. "Chad, I think it's high time you explained what the hell is going on here!" Cindy said angrily. She was just as dissapointed to see Chad as I was. "Sweetheart, that is very easily explained. I'm a legend!" he responded.

Normally, Cindy would have been pretty pissed if Chad called her "sweetheart". But right now, she seemed to be paying more attention to the second thing he had said. "You're a legend!?! How is that possible?" said Mindy. Even she was surprised. "Let me give you the whole story: At about the same time your houses' dissapeared into the ground, I started feeling, well, watched. I thought I saw this one guy in a hood everywhere I went. But when I turned around to see if he was still there, he dissapeared. This went on for a few days, until one time while I was hanging out in my backyard, something pulled me into the bushes. I was sure it was Mr. Stalker, but it turned out to be a big freaky-looking dragon named Goritayna, or something like that, that said some stuff about me being awesome and saving the world, then he left and told me to get a pokemon. God, his name just sounded so familiar, though. Ever heard of him?" "Yes! That was Giratina! His story is one of the most popular legends in Sinnoh! How can you not know who he is?" I snapped. Chad's stupidity could always exceed my expectations. "Yeah, whatever. Anyway, after freakshow-dragon left, the guy in the hood jumped out from behind a tree. At first I made a run for it, but then he said he had a gift for me, a prize for becoming a legend. So, since I figured this guy must be pals with the Legendary Pokemonand gave all legends their first pokemon, I accepted it, and I got this really powerful Spiritomb. Once my house dissapeared, I knew that you guys had to be legends too. So, then Dragon-freak came down to earth and told methat they had increased security and that he never thought another house would be taken. I told him not to sweat it because my parents were alcoholics anyway and that I could use a break from them. Once he told me they could die though, I realized that, well, um, I guess a temporary break is all I really want. So I accepted the quest and kicked butt all across Sinnoh for a few days, then I came here. The End"

I could tell that Chad had been upset about losing his parents, so he must've had a soft side after all. But that didn't matter right now. What did was that there was someting really fishy Chad's story. "Chad, this doesn't add up." I said. "Think about it. Since the first wave of lengends' families dissapeared, Arceus probably had the remaining pokemon who hadn't found their Legend yet to do so in secrecy, like Giratina did. However, your parents were still kidnapped. Next, that hooded guy didn't give us our first pokemon, we found or caught them." "I guess I just got lucky then, but you don't have to be so sore about it. Cindy, you said I'll never amount to anything about a week ago, right? Well, my pokemon just beat Eterna's new gym leader, so there you have it: I'm good at something and little Spylar is saying that there's something wierd about my pokemon cause he's afraid I'll be better than him." "THAT'S NOT TRUE!" I shouted. Chad really knows how to get me going. I was about to shout something harsh when I realized something. "Chad, release Spiritomb." I told him. "What?" "Just do it!" Chad held up his pokeball and Spiritomb came out in a flash of white light. "There! Chad, look at Spiritomb and tell me what he's missing!" Chad studied his pokemon for a few seconds, then shrugged. "No stripes!" I shouted. "Spiritombs have green stripes on them, but yours has none!"

That's when everything happened at once. First, a thought clicked in my head and I understood why Spiritomb had no stripes and was solid purple, chaos purple, in fact. Next, seven legendary pokemon landed in the gym's garden. Four were familiar faces, three were not. On Articuno's back was a blue-haired boy that looked around the same age as Alex. "Watch out!" he shouted. "That thing is dangerous!" The last and most devistating thing that happened that moment was that Spiritomb's face dissapeared, and where it was before was now a portal, with hundreds and humdreds of purple Wurmples, Pidgeottos, and two tough-looking Dragonairs. "That Spiritomb was a trap!" said Jirachi, one of the new faces that had showed up, who I figured was the legendary guide of the blue-haired boy."We tried to warn you, but we were too late!" "What are you talking about?" asked Chad. "Chad, the hooded person that gave you Spiritomb was one of Erida's Chaos soldiers! That's how she knew where your house was!" said another new face, Giratina. "They work as warps for the soldiers. The Spiritomb this army is entering from is in the outskirts of Sunnyshore City, where Rayquaza and his Legendary human are trying to control the army coming our way. However, most of them are already headed in our direction, and we need to get rid of them, fast!" With that, we all knew what to do! "Go, Pokemon!" we shouted in unison (minus Chad, since his only pokemon was on Erida's side).

Mareep and Swinub worked as a great team with Alex's guide, Mewtwo. He would pull the soldiers in closer with his psychic abilities, then Mareep would smash them with headbutt or fire them away with electricity. Swinub watched his teammates' backs and froze or pelted with mud bombs anything that tried a surprise attack. In the meantime, Alex's Ninjask and Blue-hair's Chatot battled in the skies with the thousands of Pidgeottos. Alex's Manectric also launched thunderbolts from the ground to reduce their numbers. Mindy, Cindy, and Drew's pokemon all worked with the Deoxys twins and Darkrai to destroy more Wurmples, while Articuno, Jirachi, and Giratina took on the two Dragonairs. The purple serpents had extraordinary power and were quite a challenge for the trio. We were all fighting our hardest, but more and more soldiers kept appearing from the portal. "We have to take down the portal! It's the only way!" I shouted to Mewtwo. "I can hold off these Wurmple on my own, but not for long! You must go now!" he shouted back. "Swinub, Mareep, come this way!" I commanded. They followed me obidiently. We endured through the flood of Chaos Soldiers until we finally found the source. "Mareep, you use thundershock! Swinub you try mudball!" I told them. They fired multiple hits at the portal, but it stayed intact. I didn't know what to do. If Spiritomb wasn't destroyed fast, the Chaos Legion would overwhelm us. Only a miracle could've saved us

Which it did.

Just as I had lost all hope, it started to rain. Thunderclouds were forming in the sky, and it was pouring buckets. "Yes!" I shouted. "Swinub, freeze up the rain and turn it into hail! That should be stronger. Mareep, use thundershock!" Mareep's electricity was conducted much better in the rain, and with the combined strength of the hail, the portal finally shut. "Mareep, headbutt him to kingdom come!" He did as he was told, and Spiritomb was thrown high into the sky, where Ninjask and Chatot burst him to pieces.

Eventually, the Chaos Army was finally defeated, and everyone cheered for me. "Yay Gerard!" They shouted in unison. "Thanks, but there's still something I don't get. Why didn't Spiritomb do that before, when it was just Chad around?" I asked. "Erida probably ordered the soldiers to wait until they could take lots of us down at once." answered the blue-haired boy. "Little did she know that would be her biggest mistake! We make a great team! By the way, I never got to introduce myself: I'm Ronald McLeod, Jirachi's Legend." "Nice to meet you!" the rest of us said. We all shook his hand. After that we turned to Chad. He looked pretty upset. "Guys, I'm sorry I screwed you all over. I had no idea that my pokemon worked for the Chaos Legion." "It's okay Chad. We know." said Mindy. "We all forgive you."

He seemed to feel a little better. Then, he turned to me. "Gerard, I meant what I said. I'm good at this trainer stuff, and someday, when get a new pokemon, I'll be better than even a gym leader's kid like you." he said with determination. I rolled my eyes at him. "Whatever gets you through the day, Chad." I guess the two of us were destined to be rivals.

"I'd love to stay and chat some more, but there's no time." said Ronald. "The worst is yet to come. There are still hundreds more soldiers in Sunnyshore, and my friend Jonathan and Raquayza can't hold them off much longer. We have to go now!"

With that, we all got on the backs of the legendary pokemon and flew east. "When this is all over, I'll play you all a song on my violin." said Ronald. "You play violin? That's the coolest instrument ever! Well, after guitar, that is." said Cindy. Ronald chuckled "I'm flattered. I'd play you something right now, but we're going fast, and we'll be there soon." "As a matter of fact, I think I see Sunnyshore right over there, behind that cloud." said Alex. "Then get ready for battle, legends, cause this is gonna be rough!" said Mewtwo.

And we were off.

[spoiler=Chapter 12: ”You may have won the battle, but what about the war?“]

Flying into battle on Articuno's back made me feel more alive than ever. Thunderclouds were still booming overhead, and rain was pouring down like crazy, and below me I saw the legendary dragon Rayquaza fighting off an army of purple pokemon. Knowing that I was about to detirmine the fate of the earth got me pumped.

We landed in the battlefield where I spotted a teenager in a brown tattered shirt staggering towards us. "Jonathan, are you all right?" Ronald asked him. "My... pokemon... are exhausted... need... rest..." and with that he collapsed and four pokeballs fell out of his hands.

Alex quickly scooped them up and handed them to Mewtwo. "Take him and his pokemon somewhere safe. The rest of us will help Rayquaza." Mewtwo nodded and flew off with Jonathan in a telekenetic grab. "This is the biggest Chaos army we've had to fight yet." said Mindy. "Let's just hope fate is in a good mood today." said Chad.

We dove into battle, releasing our pokemon. Chad had been given three of Alex's temporarily. "Mareep, have you learned any new moves?" I asked him. He nodded. "Then go ahead and show'em off!" Mareep curled up into a ball and started to glow. Sparks were flying from his body. Some of the Chaos Soldiers turned to see what was going on. It was the last mistake they ever made.

Mareep spun out of control and plowed through the army, leaving a trail of sparks as he did. "Wow, your Mareep knows volt tackle!" Ronald said, amazed. "I bet that's not all you've got, either. And I haven't forgotten you either Swinub, let's see some new moves!"

In addition to volt tackle, Mareep had learned thunderbolt and discharge. Swinub had also learned three new moves: ice shard, icy wind, and take down. The powerful new moves my pokemon knew played a key role in the battle. But they weren't the only ones who had new material. Drew's Trapinch and Gulpin, Mindy's Teddiursa and Lunatone, and Cindy's Phampy and Solrock had all become very powerful. Teddiursa was slashing the Chaos soldiers to bits, Trapinch blew them away with sandstorm, Gulpin heavily poisoned the army with toxic, Solrock and Lunatone beat down their opponents with rock tomb and psybeam, and Phampy's rollout was nearly as powerful as volt tackle.

Chad and Alex's pokemon were not as lucky. Somehow, the army we had just defeated had contacted this one and mentioned which of the pokemon were most powerful. The Chaos Legion was gaining up on Alex's speedy pokemon, and they were being overpowered fast. In the end, Ronald came to the rescue. "Chatot, Swablu, Poliwhirl, use hyper voice!" Ronald's pokemon sang a loud and powerful note in unison. It sounded beutiful to me, and my friends and pokemon all seemed to enjoy it too, but Chaos soldiers were bieng blown away and blasted to bits. When the note finally came to an end, nearly a third of the army had dissapeared. "Hyper voice is an amazing attack. The pokemon that uses it can detirmine who it helps and who it hurts." Ronald explained. I was amazed at the powerful attack, but it was going to take a lot more to stop the army.

Now that Alex and Chad's pokemon had been freed, they were able to increase our power. "Ninjask, signal beam! Absol, dark pulse!" Alex shouted. His pokemon were quite a team. The Legendary Pokemon were also a key role in the battle. Raquaza's thunder was much more powerful in the rain, as was Articuno's hail. With our emense strength, we were eventualy able to defeat the Chaos Legion.

"Woohoo!" cheered Cindy and Chad. They were the only ones that weren't still a little suspicious. As difficult as the battle had been, we couldn't help but think that the army should've been a little stronger. Appearently, there had been a reason for that.

"Well done!" said a voice from across the battlefield. We all turned to see that one soldier was still remaining; a purple Tyranitar. Tyranitars are sometimes classified as the strongest non-legendary pokemon in existance, so I figured that this soldier must've been a high-ranked general. I was sort of right.

"Oh my, I forgot. Being on earth changes me to this hideous form. But no matter, I can change that." The pokemon started to change shape, slowly starting to look more human. Once the transformation was complete, standing before me was a woman with jet black hair with a long purple dress. She would have looked completely normal except for two things: She was hovering fifteen above the ground, her dress still touching the surface, and she didn't have eyes. In her eye sockets were bright purple flames.

"Y-you're-" Drew studdered. "Yes, I am Erida, Queen of the Chaos Leigon and future ruler of your world. But I didn't come down to this disgusting, overcrowded, poluted planet to introduce myself. I came for my consolation prize." "What the hell are you talking about?" asked Chad. "Don't you remember the letter I wrote you all?"

A chill ran down my spine as I remembered I line from that letter that I had previously disregarded.

...I know that you still have someone very important to you with you right now, and they could very well be next...

"You children are really getting on my nerves. You've destroyed two of the armies I sent after you, and Chaos soldiers are harder to create than you think. It's about time I made this a little easier on myself by weakening your army."

Erida snapped her fingers and a purple cloud appeared underneath us. "Which of these dear pokemon should I take away first? Oh, how about...you." She pointed at Mareep, and the cloud shrunk until all that was left was enough to lift him off the ground. "No! Give him back!" I shouted. "You should have read my letter more carefully." said Erida as she transformed the cloud into a purple cage. My Mareep was gone.

Or so we all thought.

Sparks started flying from his tail, then his wool, then his whole body was giving of electricity. "Wait for it, Mareep!" I shouted. Luckily, Erida was ignoring me. "Now! Discharge!" Mareep sent sparks flying everywhere. The powerful voltage busted open the cage. Mareep quckly hopped down. He was free!

"Hmm, so I underestimated you again." said Erida. "You may have one the battle, young, naïve Spylar, but what about the war?" With that, she snapped her fingers again and dissapeard into a purple shroud.

"Well, this was a long day!" I said. "I think we should head back to Eter-" "Gerard! Look!" Mindy shouted, pointing behind me. I turned around and saw a really bright white figure where Mareep had been seconds before. It was glowing and changing shape. "Mareep, what's going on?!?"

When the figure stopped glowing, Mareep had dissapeared. In it's place was a pokemon with the same wool and tail, but a pink head instead of blue, and quite a bit bigger. "Wow, your Mareep evolved!" said Ronald. I was overjoyed. My pokemon was growing up.

"What do I call him now?" I asked. "Flaafy!" my new pokemon answered. And that's how my my first pokemon evolved.

We all got on the backs of the Legendary Pokemon and headed back to Eterna, where Jonathan and Mewtwo were waiting. With my Mareep evolving and us winning two battles with the Chaos Legion, we figured that it was high time to celebrate. As promised, Ronald provided entertainment with his violin, and played a song called "The Beast of Pirates Bay" I never really liked the violin, but Ronald's talent quickly changed my mind. He eventually got us all singing.

Drew made us all some his amazing spahgetti. In the absence of a stove, he used Giratina's dragon breath to boil the water. All our pokemon scampered and played in the garden, while some of the legendary pokemon tried to teach them some new moves. We were all having so much fun. As much pain, sadness, and exhaustion being a legend brought me, it also brought me some of the best times of my life.

The next day, we decided that it was time to continue with our quest. "All of us traveling together would be to dangerous. Erida can also sense our energy." said Ronald. "We'll have to split in to groups." "I wanna stay with Gerard!" said Drew. I guess I was growing on him. "I like having a sort-of brother too, so Drew stays with me!" I told Ronald. "We'll stay with you to, Gerard." said Cindy and Mindy. "We've been with you since the begining, and that's not about to change." "Well, then I guess that means Chad comes with us." said Jonathan. "That's a good choice." said Attack Deoxys. "He and Gerard would probably kill eachother if they traveled together." Everyone except Chad and I laughed.

"Wait, but that leaves our teams uneven." said Mindy. "I can change that!" Jirachi chimed in. "I'd rather stay on earth. Ronald's music is really beautiful, and the three of them could use some extra help if things get rough." "Jirachi, are you sure about this?" asked Darkrai. "If the media spots you, then we'll all have to reveal ourselves." "I promise I'll be really careful! If they have to go into town, I'll just hide in Ronald's backpack. I'm small enough." Jirachi replied. "Well, I guess so. Just be careful." said Darkrai.

"Then that settles it! We have our teams." said Jonathan. "If we ever need eachother, our legendary aura will guide us." We said our good-byes and watched as the magnificent pokemon headed toward the sky. Ronald, Jonathan, Jirachi, and Chad took a road going west, while we went south, both of us heading toward more adventure.

[spoiler=Chapter 13: Wings?]

The four of us traveled across midwest Sinnoh, looking for what to do next. After a few days of traveling, we decided to stop in Orenburgh City for the day.

Cindy, Drew and I all went to the pokemon center to rest up and get something to eat. Mindy went to a news stand to buy the morning paper. She said that we needed to get a newspaper regularly to check for any leads to the Chaos Legion.

"Where do you think we should go next?" asked Drew while munching on a cheeseburger. "I really don't know." I said. "I feel like my Legend aura is trying to tell me something, but I just can't figure out what." "Me too." said Cindy. "When I concentrate really hard, like Articuno said to do, I don't feel energy pulling me anywhere. All I see is a mountain." "Could it be Mt. Coronet?" Drew asked. "Nah, it's to small. Besides, I see trails of hardened lava running down the side, and I'm pretty sure Coronet isn't volcanic."

Mindy walked through the door of the pokemon center. She found our table and sat down. "I know where to go next." she said. "What are you talking about?" I asked. She pointed to an article on the page. There was a picture of a volcanic mountain above it. "This is Mt. Newlavarige, named after the town in the Hoenn region. There have been sightings of mutated pokemon on it. Pokemon like Bagons and Charmanders have been spotted with wings. I don't know why, but I felt Legend aura when I looked at the picture." Mindy explained. "That's the mountain I've been seeing!" said Cindy. "Where is it?" "It's in the southern half of the Coronet chain," "The southern half!? That's only a mile or two away from here!" I said. "Then what are we waiting for? Let's go!" said Cindy.

We hiked for a few hours before ariving at Newlavarige at around eight o'clock. There were tourists and news reporters everywhere. "My aura's leading me up the mountain." said Drew. "Damn, there are police everywhere! We can't go up!" said Cindy. I looked around at all the streetlights. "Yes we can, all we need is a good distraction." I said with a grin.

Half an hour later, we had my Flaafy's tail connected to one of the streetlights with jumper cables. "How the heck did you get these?" Drew asked me. "People carry them in their cars all the time. All I had to do was find one who's owner forgot to lock their trunk." I answered. "The best part is that all these streetlights have the same power source, so with enough voltage, we can take out all the bulbs around the mountain!" I turned to Flaafy. "Are you ready?" I asked him. "Flaafy!" he responded. "He says yes." I told my friends. "Okay buddy, discharge!"

Sparks flew everywhere and several streetlights went out. The police were puzzled, so most of them headed for the control room. "Now's are chance! Run!" said Mindy. We slipped past the police and ran up the mountain. "What now?" asked Cindy. "First, we set up camp. It's too dark to explore right now." I said. "In the morning, we'll just go where our aura tells us."

After a good night's sleep, we were ready to explore. "Let's go that way." said Cindy. We followed her up the mountain, keeping a lookout for any mountain patrolers. The last thing we wantend was to get involved with the police. Continuing up the mountain, we started to feel heat beneath us. "Be careful! This volcano could blow any time!" I warned my friends.

After some time, we decided to take a break and let our pokemon to have some fresh air. "We are so close to...something. Something legendary." said Cindy. "Well, we can find it after a snack. I'm starving!" said Drew as he opened a bag of trail mix. We all dug through our backpacks for some food. Our pokemon were hungry too, so we were about to open some bags of pokefood when Drew said "Wait, where's Gulpin?" I turned around to look for the green glob and saw him crawling towards a lunchbox on the edge of a big crevice. "He's over there. Just really hungry, I guess." I told Drew. "Gulpin be careful!" Drew shouted. Just then, the ground started to shake, and the earth around Gulpin started to crumble. "Gulpin!" Drew shouted as Gulpin started to fall into the vast gap in the mountain. "Don't worry, I got'em." said a voice from far away. Suddenly, a flying object swooped into the crevice and came out with Gulpin on it's back.

The thing landed next to the four of us. Once it had stopped moving, I realized that it was a Shelgon, but it wasn't a normal one. This Shelgon had wings almost as big as a Salamence's. "Good work, pal!" said the voice from before. We turned around and saw a brown haired boy who looked about sixteen years old with a neon green jacket.

"Gulpin, are you okay?" asked Drew. Gulpin nodded. "Thanks, Shelgon." The pokemon seemed to be smiling (It was hard to tell, since a Shelgon's shell covers it whole face except for the eyes). "And thank you too, um, uh, What did you say your name was?" "I didn't" said the boy. "It's John Murloc, and from the aura I'm detecting right now, you're all legends. Am I right?" "You sure are. I'm Drew Sampson, and these are my friends Gerard, Mindy, Cindy." "Hey guys! Sorry about leaving my lunch there, Drew. My new pokemon, Numel, ran off, and I had to catch him." "No sweat. Otherwise, we wouldn't have met you. Hey, do you know anything about the mysterious winged pokemon? I figured you might, seeing as you have one." "Not only do I know about them, but my grandma and I are the reason they are here! I'll tell you all about it, but first, let's get to my camp and I'll get you all some food."

We followed John to his camp, where he had plenty of sandwitches. Once we were all situated, John began to explain:

"When I was six years old, my parents died in while researching. Appearently, they had been caught in a battle between a Zangoose and a Seviper. After that, I went to live with my grandma on this mountain. She was also a pokemon reasercher until one day, when searching in underground tunnels, she came across a special stone that she had never seen before. After running many tests on it, she discovered that it had pokemon-transforming properties. However, no matter how many pokemon she tried to evolve with the stone, they didn't work. She was about to give up until about three months ago when she tried to evolve my pet Bagon, and to much amazement, my pokemon grew wings! After mining some more stones, and testing them on various pokemon, she discovered that all of the pokemon that grew wings when given the stone were those that gained wings in later evolutionary forms. For example, giving the stone to my Numel would do nothing, because wings are impossible for Numels to obtain. However, giving this special stone to a Caterpie would unlock its wings within and would give it the ability to fly. Once the Caterpie has evolved into a Butterfree, there will be no physical difference from it and other Butterfrees, but it will be an excellent flyer because it had extra time to practice.

"Because of what it does, my Grandma named this stone the Cloudstone. After she released her research pokemon into the wild, more and more mountainous pokemon would come to our house in hopes of obtaining wings. My grandma gladly gave them away, seeing as she had no use for them, and as a result, for the last two months, people have been spotting these special pokemon. The story ends about a week ago, when Ho-oh, one of the most powerful fire pokemon ever, told me about the legends. I was really honored to be part of such an important army, but my thoughts changed from honor to fear when my grandma and my house dissapeared two days later. Since then, I've been trying to settle an old score here on Newwlavaridge so that I can finally get started on the journey to save my grandma."

"What old score are you talking about?" I asked. "Two days before I discovered I was a legend, Our house had been robbed. Appearently, the thief had only been after one thing: The cloud stones. I don't know how they found out, but someone on this mountain has my grandma's prized possesions, and I need to get them back." "Then what are we waiting for? Let's find that thief!" said Cindy.

And we were off.

[spoiler=Chapter 14: The Cloudstone Thieves]

John knew the mountain a lot better than us, so he lead the search. "I have thuroughly searched nearly every cavern, cliff, and crevice on this mountain. The only place I haven't yet been is the very top. I hoped I wouldn't have to go there, seeing as this is an active volcano, but I guess I have no choice. Let's go!" he said.

It wasn't a very long hike to the top, but it was a terrifying one. The mountain was rumbling like crazy, and my only hope was that we could get away from it before it erupted. "John, why would you and your grandma ever want to live on a volcano?" I asked. "Her favorite pokemon were mountainous ones, and my favorites are fire-types. On volcanoes, you find both of those, so this seemed like the perfect place for us to live." he explained.

Finally, we reached the summit. I looked down below and saw a huge pit of lava. "L-Let's make this qu-quick." studdered Drew.

"...gotta go now! Reporters are gonna be all over the place later!" said a quiet voice from across the pit. "Guys! Listen!" I whispered. The five of us ducked behind a rock and remains very quiet. "It's too dangerous! We need to wait until this place stops getting so much publicity. We need to lay low until the media forgets about our pokemon raid in Eterna."

"That voice sounds familiar." said Mindy. "Oh my god! It's that short jerk that took Drew's Trapinch and a whole bunch of other pokemon!" said Cindy. "He must be with his tall anarexic pal!" "Cindy! Shut up! You'll blow our cover!" I whispered. Our old "friends" continued to argue:

"Look, what happens if the police start patroling the whole mountain?"

"Some people must be allowed on the mountain. If they weren't, then the house we robbed wouldn't have existed."

"Those people had permits to live here! We don't even have permission to set foot on this mountain. The sooner we leave, the better."

"They robbed my house!" John whispered. "They have my grandma's cloudstones! We have to get'em back!" John stood up and was about to run after them when Mindy grabbed him and pulled him back. "It's too dangerous. We can't go after them yet." she told him. John regretfully sat down and continued to listen.

"I think you're forgetting who has been the brain of all our operations. I know what I'm doing. There is nearly no chance of us being caught, and even if we do, the money we'll make off of selling these stones will pay for our bail." "Ok, fine. But you better be sure about this. Let's go."

"They're getting away! We have to stop them now!" said John. All of us, even Mindy, realized he was right. We stood up from behind our rock and ran after the thieves, who were still masked as they had been before. "You aren't going anywhere!" said John confidently. "Damn it! I knew we'd get caught!" said the short thief. "Relax, it's just those kids that were hanging out with Alex Spear, except that without him around, they can't defend themselves!" said the tall one. Then he turned to us. "If I remember correctly, we never properly introduced ourselves. I'm Bones, and this is Shorty."

"Those are pretty retarded names!" said Cindy. "Those are just our codenames. We're smart enough not to use our real names in the field of business we're in." Bones explained. "Your field of business is stealing other people's most prized possesions! Give me back the stones before my Shelgon and Numel roast you like a marshmellow!" shouted John angrily. "Yeah, sorry, but that's never gonna happen. We need these for reasons that would take way to long to explain, so we'll be off now."

Bones started to climb down the mountain, but Cindy grabbed him by his shirt's collar before he got very far. "We have all the time in the world, so let's hear your story." she said. To this day I don't know how it worked, but somehow the glare that Cindy gave him made Bones snap. "Ok fine, I'll tell you everything." he said, and minutes later we were sitting at their camp listening to the story.

"The two of us are in a desperate need of money, and two great ways to make money are by competing in pokemon competitions, and selling things. Of course, finding pokemon to battle with or goods to sell can take a long time and can be very boring, but stealing these things is both quick and fun."

"You're sick!" I shouted at Bones. "Are you hear to critisize me, or to listen to a story?" Bones said with a grin. I could tell he was just trying to get me worked up, so I just ignored him and waited for him to continue.

"Anyway, our original idea was to battle pokemon, and with all the talk of these special winged ones here on Newlavaridge, we came here first. However, instead of finding winged pokemon, we found something even better: A way to create our own. After seeing an old lady giving one of these stones to a Charmander and watching it sprout wings, we realized that those stones would sell for a lot and help us get a powerful pokemon team. So after robbing this kid and his grandma's house, we started to do reaserch on how they worked. After trying the stones on many pokemon, we concluded that there were only a few pokemon that the stone worked on. Those were pokemon that would eventually gain the ability to fly through evolution. So, we needed pokemon like that.

"After a few days of stealing, we had three unique flying pokemon, but we needed at least four to enter any kind of competition. So we waited in Eterna Forrest for someone to come along. Eventually, this kid," Bones pointed at Drew. "came along with his Trapinch. Because Trapinch evolves into Vibrava and Flygon, who can bith fly, that was the perfect addition to our team. So, we tried to get it from him. But when Alex showed up and offered his Absol as a battle prize instead, we couldn't turn his offer down down. So we accepted his offer, but if we had used our winged pokemon in the battle, he would have known they were stolen and released them if we lost. That was too big of a risk to take, so we had to steal twelve pokemon in 24 hours. In the end, it wasn't as hard as you would think. Most trainers were easy to rob, but the easiest was that friend of yours. What was his name? Chazz?" "His name is Chad." I said. "And he's about as much my friend as you guys are." "Whatever." said Bones. "Anyway, all we had to do was tell him that he won the Pokelottery and that we needed his Spiritomb so that we could verify his ticket. Man, was that kid stupid." For once I wanted to agree with Bones, but Mindy would've frowned upon it, so I decided not to. "After gettiing twelve pokemon, we decided that even if we won the Absol, we should still continue with our plan to have four pre-winged pokemon. So we found out where the four of you were staying, snuck in, and grabbed the Trapinch. But every time we tried to give him a stone, the stupid thing would knock it away. It was rediculous how bad he was at obeying his master." "THAT'S NOT TRUE!" shouted Drew. "If he doesn't want wings, that just means he likes himself the way he is! And the only reason he didn't obey you is because you two are creeps who took him from his home at 2 AM!"

When Drew was finished, he was breathing so heavily that a bystander might have thought the kid was having a heart attack. I never knew that he had it in him to get so mad. Even Bones and Shorty seemed to be shocked. "Well, go ahead and think what you want," said Shorty after a long silence. "but I'm finishing our story.

"It turned out that the Trapinch was still stronger than a Cacnea we stole, so we released the Cacnea and added Trapinch to our team. If it wasn't for that stupid birthmark of his, we would have been able to keep him. But this kid over here spotted him," Shorty pointed at me. "so we had to give him back.

"After losing that battle, we came back to Newlavaridge, but recently there have been even more police around here, so we need to make a run for it before they catch us. So, that's what we're gonna do now. See ya!" the two of them proceeded down the mountain, but John stopped them in their tracks. "You're not going anywhere with my grandma's Cloudstones. We all challenge you to a battle for them."

"Not gonna happen." said Bones. "Either it's a two-on-two battle, or we don't fight. Besides, what will you offer if we win?" "If you two win, I'll give you this." John said, holding up folded piece of paper. "What's that?" asked Shorty. "It's a map leading to my grandma's Cloudstone mine. If you get this, you'll have fifty times more of those stones to sell." Bones and Shorty looked at eachother. "Fair enough, but who's your partner?" "Well, seeing as he also has a score to settle with you, I pick Drew." said John. Drew was stunned. "Me?! I bearly have any experience. Are you sure about this?" he asked. "Of course! Are you ready, jerks?" John asked. "To make millions? We sure are!" said Shorty. "Then let the battle begin!" shouted John.

[spoiler=Chapter 15: Settling Old Scores]

"Go, Kakuna!" shouted Shorty. "Go, Dratini!" shouted Bones. They both released their unique winged pokemon.

"What should I pick?" John thought out loud. "Hmm, I guess I'll start with Numel." he said as he threw a pokeball. Out came a small orange pokemon with four legs and a pretty big head. "What about you, Drew?" he asked. "I pick Gulpin." Drew said. He released his pokemon. "Good choice! Numel, use ember on Kakuna!" shouted John. Numel's attack was weak, but it was strong against the bug pokemon. "Now finish him with rock throw!" Numel hurtled a few rocks at the pokemon, but Bones was too quick.

"Dratini, protect him with tail whip!" he shouted. The dragon quickly knocked the rocks out of the way. "Now hit Gulpin with dragonbreath!" he said. "No!" Drew shouted. "Gulpin, use toxic while you have the chance!" The green blob was able to land his attack just as dragonbreath made contact. "Gulpin, return." he said as a beam of red light pulled the pokemon back in. "Now your free to attack, Numel!" said John. "Rock throw at Kakuna!"

More rocks flew at Kakuna, only this time, Dratini's poison made him too slow to block the attack. Kakuna was down and out. "Great job Numel!" cheered John. "That's one pokemon down, but you won't be able to defeat this one! Go, Magikarp!" shouted Shorty as he threw a second pokeball into the air. Out came a flying Magikarp. "Why would you ever use a Magikarp? They're useless until they've evolved." said John. "That's what bones thought." said Shorty. "Turns out it's a whole different story when they get their wings! Magikarp, use aireal ace!" The Magikarp swooped down and swiftly tackled Numel. It hadn't defeated him, but it definently made him slower. "Numel, use ember!" The weak attack hit Dratini and knocked him out.

"Darn, just two left! Oh well, go Trapinch!" said Bones. A Trapinch with big orange wings appeared in a flash of white light. "You have a Trapinch too?" Drew asked. "Yes, and his wings give him the upper hand. Your Trapinch is worthless next to mine." "I'll prove that's not true!" Drew shouted angrily. "Go Trapinch!" Drew's Trapinch appeared next to Numel. "Let's even up the battle first." said Shorty. "Magikarp, use water gun on Numel!"

With Numel's type combo and exhaustion, he didn't stand a chance against even a weak water attack. Numel was finished. "You brought me to this. Go Shelgon!" John shouted. He released his winged pokemon. "Drew, I have a plan." he said. "Just do what I say." "Um, okay." said Drew, pretty confused. "Start by having him whip up a sandstorm." John continued. "Sure. Uh, Trapinch, use sandstorm." The small pokemon got the storm going. "Ok, now tell him to get on Shelgon's back." said John. "Huh? Are you sure?" asked Drew. "Just trust me." "Okay then. Trapinch, you heard'em." Trapinch hopped on the shell pokemon's back. "Now Shelgon! Use zen headbutt on Magikarp!" The pokemon lifted from the ground and started to glow. Then, it tackled the Magikarp with all its might. With the combined weight from Trapinch, Magikarp was finished.

"Now for the harder part." continued John. "Get as close as you can to the flying Trapinch, Shelgon. Drew, I think you'll know what to do." Drew nodded. Shelgon chased the Trapinch around for a while, but eventually he got him cornered. "Now Drew!" shouted John. "Trapinch, use rock slide!" An avalanch of rocks fell on Bone's Trapinch. Since he was a flying-type, the rocks were extra powerful, and were enough to defeat the pokemon.

"How could this be?!" shouted Shorty in frustration as he threw the sack of cloudstones at John. "Even without Alex they still defeated us!" "I guess it goes to show that just because your pokemon had something Drew's didn't, he still managed to defeat you." I said. "As a matter of fact, those wings were Trapinch's key weakness this time around."

Suddenly, the mountain started to shake, and the lava pit started to bubble. The temperature quickly changed to that of an oven. "Oh no! It's an eruption!" shouted Cindy. Bones quickly pulled a poison antidote out of his backpack and sprayed it on his Dratini. "Shorty, hop on!" he said. The two of them got on the back of the dragon. "See ya later, punks!" Shorty said with an evil grin. Bones kicked of the ground and the two of them flew away. "Now what will we do? My Shelgon can't carry all of us!" said John, clutching the bag. Then, out of nowhere, something grabbed me and Drew. In a blur, the same thing happened to John. The figure ran as fast as possible, carrying him down the mountain. I was so busy watching John that I didn't realized I was being lifted of the ground. "Whoa!" shouted Drew. We looked up and saw a winged Charmander, carrying us each in one arm. We were being Pokerescued! "Cindy! Mindy! Ride Shelgon! We're all fine!" I shouted below. They quckly got on his back and flew off just as the volcano erupted.

After a small flight, we all finally touched ground next to John, somewhere miles away in the Coronet range. Once we were up close, I saw that the pokemon that had saved John was a Chimchar. "Say hello to the newest member of my team!" said John. "He said he wants to stay with me! Doesn't that rock?" John and Chimchar both seemed really happy, so yes, it did rock.

Once the Charmander let us down, I turned and faced him. "We can't thank you enough. Is there anything we can do to repay you?" First, the pokemon hovered there for a second, as if he was thinking. Then, he swooped down and grabbed a pokeball off of my belt. "Char Char!" he said as he pointed to himself and then the pokeball. "Aha, do you want to be part of my team?" I asked. "Charmander!" he said. But as I held up the pokeball for him to enter, he pushed it aside and held up his fists. "I see. You wanna fair fight first. Well, in thy case, you're on! Go Swinub!"

I released my little pokemon. "Ok swinub, this might be hard, because you can't use ground moves on a flying-type. Stick to the powerful ice moves you learned." Swinub nodded in agreement. "Let's start with hail!" I said. Swinub whipped up a hailstorm that pelted Charmander. His wings nearly failed him, but his inner heat managed to kick in just in time, making the ice avoid him. "It's not working, Swinub! Use icy wind!" I commanded. Swinub released a cold gust that frosted over Charmander's wings. He started to head for the ground. "Now's your chance! Use take down!" Swinub charged, but his attack never hit. Charmander used ember to clear the snow from his wings, and then prepared to use dragon rage. "Swinub! Endure!" Swinub closed his eyes tight and became as still as a statue. I knew that he was also as hard as one too.

Dragon rage hit Swinub directly, but he had been strong and hadn't fainted. Charmander stalled from confusion, which cost him the battle. "Now! Use take down!" Swinub charged for a second time, but this time made a direct hit. I tossed a pokeball at Charmander. It shook for a while, but then a red light appeared, meaning he was caught.

I walked over to where the pokeball was laying and picked it up. "Welcome to the team Charmander." I said, holding the orb in my hands. "Where should we head now?" asked Cindy. I closed my eyes and concentrated on the legends really hard. I felt a strong aura pulling me west. "Let's head west. I feel something powerful in that direction." "All that can mean is more fun for us." said John.

And we were off.

[spoiler=Subchapter 15.5: Hiding in the Mist]

A dark figure sat on top of a mountain playing the flute, shrouded in mist. The flute had been enchanted by Suicune, the figure's legendary guide, to create a mist where he could hide when a tune was played. Because of his special flute, he had dubbed himself "The Mist Flute".

As the young man finished his song, two other figures entered the shroud. "Suicune, Lucario, you have returned. Are you enjoying yourselves here?" he asked. Yes master! Being a pokemon of the mountains, this territory is very much familiar to me. said a voice in The Mist Flute's head. This voice belonged to Lucario. Suicune had gifted the blue fighting-pokemon with a telepathic bond only audible to The Mist Flute and himself.

"Yes, I feel at ease here too." said Suicune. "But I am afraid we must leave. I feel a powerful legendary aura nearby. Unfortunatly, there is a powerful Chaos energy in almost the exact location." "I feel it too, Suicune." said The Mist Flute. "We must help them. Without them, I'll never be able to save my mother and father. Dad was diagnosed with heart failure just a week before he was taken, and I need to get him back in time for his surgery."

After a few moments of silence, The Mist Flute heard Lucario's voice again. Sir, will this mean we'll get to meet more of the famous legendary pokemon? "It's not likely. Most legendary pokemon are very big and would attract too much attention if they stayed on earth for too long. Only sometimes do they descend to help the legendary humans on their quest." The Mist Flute explained. Sir, isn't Suicune big enough to attract attention as well? Lucario asked. "Yes, Lucario, I am." Suicune answered. "But with my ability to hide in the mist, I can stay on earth unnoticed."

The Mist Flute checked his watch. It read two o'clock AM. "The Chaos Legion preffers to work at night. If they are going to strikel, they'll chose to do so now. We must help the legends." said The Mist Flute. He and Lucario climbed on to Suicune's back and the three of them rode off into the night.

[spoiler=Chapter 16: Legendary Kidnapping!]

We continued our journey across Sinnoh, heading for the far western side. With every mile we hiked, I could feel the aura getting stronger. I would have been extremely bored, but our luck was changing. Now that early April had come, the whole region moved from the chilly end of winter to the warm start of spring, and with spring came youngster trainers.

"Go Kricketot." said the ten-year-old I was battling. "Well, who should I pick?" I muttered to myself. "Hmm, why not my good friend Charmander?" I tossed a pokeball high in the air. Out came my uniquely winged pal. "What the hell?! That's one of those newlavaridge mutant things!" said the trainer. "That wasn't very smart. Now you've made him mad." I said. "Charmander, start out with a little wing attack." Charmander dove down and hit Kricketot with all his might. "No! Kricketot, don't give up! Use bug bite!" shouted the trainer. The small Kricketot jumped up and tried to bite Charmander. The pokemon flew up...and came back down instants later, not having even coming close to my fire pokemon. "Let's finish this up." I said. "Charmander, use fire fang!"

Charmander swooped down once more, this time with his mouth glowing red. When he bit down on the foe, flames bursted out of his mouth, scorching the weak bug pokemon. "Kricketot, return." the trainer said, holding out his pokeball.

"How did you manage to catch that thing?!" he asked, amazed. "Sorry, but that's top secret." I said, winking at John. "But-" "Nice batlling with you! Keep it up, and you can be a great trainer too!" I said.

After about five days of traveling and battling, the aura seemed within just a few miles. "Where are we?" I asked Mindy. She checked her map. "A little east of route 204." "Then this is a perfect place to set up camp." said Drew. "Its close to a city, where we can get supplies, but far enough away that people won't come wandering out here asking us why were camping on a ‘school night’."

That was when something wierd crossed my mind: I wasn't gonna get schooling for the rest if that year. I wanted to ponder on how that would effect my future, but the fact that legends were so close made me put the thought away for another time.

"Once we've put up the tents, we should find the source of that aura." I said. "Gerard, it's almost eleven o'clock! Who knows what kind of dangerous thugs or pokemon could be lingering around at this hour?" Mindy replied. I was about to complain, but it would've been pointless. She and her sister are near impossible to win an argument with.

After setting up camp, we all shared the last of our sandwhiches. "I don't know what we'll do for food now. We're completely broke!" said Cindy. "Not for long we won't be!" said John, holding up his bag of cloudstones. "You're wiling to sell those for us?" asked Cindy. "Of course! We'll make enough for the rest of this adventure, with all the youngster trainers running around trying to improve their pokemon. Besides, once this is all over, my grandma and I can go and mine some more together."

John was really starting to grow on me. He was so generous, and confident that we'd succed. I went to sleep, happy to be surrounded by my four best friends in the world. But as usual, fate didn't let my peace last long.

"Guys! Wake up!" I heard a voice say in the middle of the night. I opened my eyes and saw two dark figures in front of me. The first was a girl who looked unfamiliar, but the other had brown spiky hair that I slightly remembered. "Jonathan Lerris?" I asked. "Yeah, it's me." he said. "You're Raquaza's legend, right? The one we saved at the Sunnyshore battle?" I asked. "Yes, that was me you saved. But this is no time for small talk. We gotta go!" he responded. I looked at my watch. "Jonathan, it's four in the morning! What could possibly be so urg-"

That was when I heard screaming from the other tents. I quickly unzipped my door and climbed out. At our campsite were six men, all taller than six feet. Each of them was wearing black suits with two dark purple stripes on each sleeve. Three of them were holding John, Mindy, Cindy, and Drew. The other two had pistols aimed at me. "Don't move, or will fire!" one of them shouted. The other four started to drag my friends into an armored truck parked by our camp. I had to think fast. I turned my head slowly and looked inside the tent. Jonathan and his friend were hiding in a corner, and my three pokeballs werenext to my sleeping bag. As quietly as I could, I whispered "Pokemon, roll this way."

The three pokeballs started rolling towards the entrance of the tent. "Perfect! Now brace yourselves, guys. This might hurt a bit, but it's the only way to save our friends." I told them.

At that moment, I ducked as fast as I could. Both of the thugs fired, but the bullets hit a tree behind me. I stood back up and kicked one of my pokeballs as hard as I could. I had always been a pretty bad soccer player, but when my friends were on the line, I could become David Beckham.

The pokeball hit one of the thugs in the head and knocked him out, but the other one continued open firing. I thought I was a goner. My plan had worked great, but I wasn't bulletproof. Fourtunantly, the kidnapper was so busy trying to kill me, that he hadn't noticed a flash of white light right next to him.

"Flaffy, volt tackle!" I shouted. The electric pokemon ran into the second thug with a high level of voltage, leaving him unconsious. I was safe, but the battle wasn't over yet. The other three men were starting their truck and driving away. "Jonathan, come out! I need you help!" I shouted into the tent. I heard him tell the other person to stay behind and gather up anything that looked valuble.

I picked up my remaining pokeballs and through them at the truck as hard as I could, and could not believe my luck. You see, in desperacy to get away fast, the men hadn't shut the back doors of the truck, and were still in the process of doing so. Therefore, my pokeballs flew right in and attacked the three men in the back, giving my friends time to escape. It would have been smart for the kidnappers to stop there, but that's not the way it worked out. As my friends ran, the van turned around for a second chance at the capture. But by now, everyone had released their pokemon.

"Toxicroak, use dynamicpunch!" shouted Jonathan. The Toxicroak ran foreward hit the van with all his might. The dented vehicle flew into the air and landed violently nearly a quarter mile away.

"Jonathan, that was amazing!" I said. "How did you ever get a pokemon so powerful?" "I've had Toxicroak since he was just an egg, and that was nearly five years ago. I guess that's what happens after so many years of training." he explained.

"Jonathan, we need an explanation." said Cindy. "Why did you, a friend of yours, and a gang of kidnappers show up here at four in the morning?" "I'm really sorry we lead them here. We thought we lost them." said Jonathan. "You see, about an hour ago, they came to our camp near Floaroma and kidnapped Chad, Ronald, and Jirachi. Me and my friend Miora, who we met earlier that day, were able to escape. I could sense you guys nearby, and I knew you'd help us get them back."

"Of course we'll help you!" I said. "How are we gonna win this war without train- Wait a second, where's Drew?" I asked. I turned around and saw a dented armoured truck driving away with Drew in the back, pounding on a window. I figured the men had snatched him back up in all the confusion! "DREW!" I shouted as I chased the van, but it was no good. Drew was gone.

I stood there for a few minutes, staring at the tire tracks that had been left behind. After what seemed like an eternety, I spoke again. "Did you notice the stripes?" I asked my friends? "What stripes?" asked John. "There were stripes the mens' sleeves. They were dark purple. Chaos purple." After another few seconds, I spoke again. "I don't know how she did it, but Erida has two abilities she never had before. The first being able to detect our aura, and the second being the ability to use humans in her army. We need to find out how she's doing it and stop her."

"I agree." said Mindy. "Do you know which way they went with Drew?" I concentrated a little bit more, and felt Drew's aura. "They're heading north, towards Feugo Ironworks." I said. "Miora! Did you get the valubles?" Jonathan shouted in the direction of our camp. "I packed everything!" said a voice from the campsite. "So how 'bout you get over here and help me with the stuff?" she said, sounding a little frustrated that she did all the work.

So with that, we each grabbed some of our things and headed north, towards one of our most dangerous adventures yet.

[spoiler=Chapter 17: The Chaos Queen's Trap]

We creeped through the night, making our way north. We debated on whether we should fly or not, but in the end decided against it. Being near Floaroma town, we would attract too much attention. This gave us time to learn more about eachother. Jonathan told us that he loved to draw, and that his favorite sketches were those of dragons. John told us his cloudstone story again, and Miora, an attractive, sixteen-year-old girl (John wouldn't stop looking at her) wearing tight jeans and a black belly shirt, told us her story.

"My father was a miner in the Oreburgh Mines. He was always happy when I went to visit him, so I did quite often. Only one day, I wasn't being careful and tripped on a rock and fell, causing a cave in. I would have been crushed by the rocks, but the legendary pokemon Celebi saved me.

"After getting me out of the cave, she told me that I was someone known as a legendary human, and I was to save the world. Then, she told me to go to Jublife City and purchase a quick ball. I didn't really understand why, but she had saved my life, and I figured that following her advice would be a good way to repay her.

"So I went to Jublife, purchased a quick ball, and headed back. However, on the way home, I spotted something out the corner of my eye. I turned slowly and saw an Abra, grazing. I threw the quick ball as fast as possible, and the pokemon was mine. After that, the basic legend stuff happened. My house dissapeared, I left town for an adventure, and I ran into some other legends to go with me on my quest. I even rented a fishing rod once to catch another pokemon. All I managed to get was a Magikarp, but I plan to raise it in to a strong Garidos."

"Wow, that's an impressive story!" said John. "An Abra is a great first pokemon to have." "Yes, my Abra is quite the powerhouse, but I'm worried about Magikarp." continued Miora. "He isn't a very confident pokemon. I don't know if he'll be able to gain the experience he needs to evolve." "I think I might have the solution to that." said John. "The five of us were planing to sell those cloudstones I talked about, but I could give you one for free. It would be just the confidence boost your pokemon needs."

"Would you really do that?" asked Miora. "Sure! Just think of it as a first costumer's discount." "Thank you so much!" Miora said, giving John a big hug. From behind her back, I gave him two thumbs up and mouthed the word "Score!" jokingly. He blushed and gave me a look saying that this was not the time.

"Ahem!" said Jonathan loudly. "Miora, did you know that Gerard pretty much single-handedly defeated a Chaos Army back in Eterna?" he said in a desperate attempt to change the subject. Fortunantly for him, it worked. "Wow! That's pretty impressive, man!" she said, suprised. "Well, I didn't do it all by myself. I just destroyed the portal they were entering Eterna through." I said modestly. "I did some cool stuff too!" John blurted out, desperate for Miora's attention. "Just recently, I couragely saved Drew's pokemon from these two bandits by battling them!" "No, I'm pretty sure that was Alex and Gerard. You battled the theives for your own possesions." said Mindy. "Besides, Drew helped you in that battle." John looked as if he could punch her.

"Guys, I love how much you're acting like characters from a teen-sitcom. I mean, I can practically hear the studio audience laughing." said Cindy. "But were gonna have to take a commercial break, because that's Feugo." She pointed to a Metallic building off in the distance.

"I'm not waiting one more second to save our friends." I said, tossing Flaafy's pokeball. I climbed on the pokemon's back. "Flaafy, head towards that building." I said. Flaafy charged towards the ironworks.

Mindy and Cindy rode on the back of Solrock and Lunatone, hovering a few feet off the ground. Miora and Jonathan rode on Toxicroak's back, and John was swiftly carried along by his new Chimchar. It was amazing how strong the little fire pokemon was.

Finally, we arrived at the front door of the large building. "They're inside. I can feel it." said Miora. Then what are we waiting for?" I asked. "Let's go!" I was about to open the door when Mindy pulled me back. "We can't go in that way! It's probably guarded!" she said. "Then how are we supposed to get in?" I asked. "I think I have a solution to that." said John with a grin.

A few minutes later, my Charmander, John's Chimchar and Numel, and Jonathan's Ditto were lined up infront of one of the building's steel walls. "Ditto, take the form of a flamethrower." said Jonathan. The pink blob transformed into a sleek, black weapon. "Ok pokemon, fire! Uh, literally!" I commanded. With that, a stream of fire bursted from the pokemons' mouths (or in Ditto's case, it's barrel). "While that's being taken care of, John and I have to go, um, disscuss, uh, the battle plan." said Jonathan, hiding something. "Yeah, the battle plan. But that's top secret, so c'mon John. We've gotta go discuss it over there, where they can't hear us."

We were all confused. "Why can't you just-" Cindy started to ask. "Top secret!" Jonathan interrupted. He grabbed John by the shirt and pulled him to another side of the building. "Gerard, Jonathan just told us a load of crap." said Cindy. "Go see what they're up to."

I creeped up to a corner and listened closely. "I really don't see why this can't be a public discussion, but I guess if you want-" I heard John's voice say. "That's not why I pulled you back here!" Jonathan said angrily. "I just needed to tell you to lay off Miora." "What are you talking about?" "Look, I know you have the hots for her, but I've known her longer, so it's only fair that-" "What the hell do you mean by that? You've known her for barely eight hours longer than I have!" "And in those eight hours I saved her life!" "In the time I've known her, I saved her pokemon from worthlessness!" "You can tell she likes me better! My pokemon are more powerful than yours!" "Appearantly, I'm more charming!"

"Let's settle this with a battle!" they said in unison. I was the one that had to break it up.

"Guys, guys, guys! Calm down!" I said, coming out from behind the corner. They both looked to the ground, embarrest. "You were listening?" asked John. "Yes I was," I continued. "and if you guys wanna fight this out, then be my guest, but wait until after we've saved our friends. "Fine." they said grumpily.

"Hey guys, we melted a hole!" Mindy shouted to us. We all very carefully, quietly climbed in and began to search.

"I can feel something strong that way." whispered Cindy. We followed her through the labrynth of hallways, feeling the aura getting stronger. After what seemed like hours of searching, I heard a very faint moan. "That sounded like Drew!" I whispered. I was so happy to hear him that I forgot how much danger we were in. "Drew! I'm coming! Just hold on!" I shouted. "Gerard, you need to leave! It's a trap!" I heard his voice shout from down the hall. "I don't care! I'll save you!" I shouted back. I could hear fast footsteps coming down the hall. Erida's guards had heard us. "No, Gerard! You don't understand! We aren't actually-" I opened the door where his voice was coming from. "-here."

What I saw then was horrifying. Drew, Ronald, and plenty of other legends were there, but not in person. They were all up on one big TV screen, in a warehouse somewhere. However, the worst thing was what was beneath the screen. Sitting there with a grin was a dark purple Tyranitar, changing it's shape to its true form. I had walked right into Erida's hands.

"Hello, Nuisance." said the Chaos queen. I turned around and started to run to my friends, but just as I reached them, a guard came out of nowhere and tackled me. Then another grabbed John, then Miora, then Cindy. Eventually, we were all captured. "Put them with the others." said Erida. The guards sprayed something in our faces (which I later realized was knockout gas) and everything went black.

In the game there are four different versions of deoxys, and the ones in the movie start out as the normal version ( which has balanced stats in the game) but then change to the ones that have enhanced attack and defence in the game. The fourth one is speed deoxys, which doesn't appear in the movie. Since the attack and defence deoxys are the ones in the movie, those would technicly be the "deoxys twins" so I'll use those for mindy and cindy.

Well, since all deoxyses were never featured in the Pokemon show or movies, this fanfic will have its own deoxys logic:

Outside of battle, the 4 deoxyses appear in normal form. When in battle, attack, defence, and speed deoxys take their alternate forms, while normal deoxys stays the same. Cindy and Mindy are guided by attack and defence deoxys, and another set of twins (TBD) are guided by normal and speed deoxys.

How's that?
