You're in!

@ codypops: Usually I recommend that my students don't open a showcase until I feel that they are advanced enough. I hope the splicers on YCM give you some good advice! ^_^

@ blinded: All in good time.. ^_^

Are you guy's still accepting students?

I am a very new to Pokemon Splice and I just wanted to be really good at it.

Ampharos + Meganium

You saved it as a jpeg file. Don't do that. Save it as a PNG

Elemental, the recolors look good. Maybe a bit too dark. As for your splice, the headpiece does not blend with the head. It also looks like you didn't bother to recolor the back view.

@ LT Havic: You're in! Also, saving a file as .png makes the picture much cleaner and less pixely.

@ bobo144: Also, the borders on the wings of the second are too light. Darken them up a bit. Plus, recolor the Deoxys parts.

Just a question:

If I left YCM, would any of the teachers make another Pokemon Splicers School and keep it running? I feel that TPSSS is a very important club for Pokemon splicing, and I'd hate to see it just fall apart in my absence..

Why, you planning on leaving?

To answer your question, I wouldn't mind running the club, but I don't know if I have enough site experience for it to be credible.

Unfortunatly, splicing is dying out on this site. People just don't see it as an artform anymore, I suppose. Most of the splicing showcases remain unused and inactive.

*Sigh* You're right. Splicing is not as big as it once was.

I think you would be at controlling this club if I left. You seem to be the most committed teacher. You might need to give more C&C than you do and be more exact..

Why am I leaving? YCM is becoming a stagnant swamp of spam and flaming. There's no fun anymore, no laughs.. I'm sick of this place.

I've noticed that problem too. The more experienced members always tended to be a bit harsh, and as a result there are fewer new members to replace them as they cycled out. As the ratio of experienced members decreased, the ones who remained tended to become more cynical until we were left with what we have today. It's not just the older members, there has always been an abnormal number of people who are truly clueless, but the resulting frustration is vented on everyone, and now, people who might be respectable members today were turned away for making a single mistake.

I would hate to see you leave, as you are one of the few experienced members who has restrained themselves from attacks on new members and stayed rational despite this site's issues. However, I can hardly blame you for wanting to leave. In the result of your absence, I will do everything I can to work with other members I feel I can trust to keep the Splicing school active and maybe, one day, splicing can become an active pursuit once again. You will be missed.

Thank you. I've tried to remain calm under the circumstances, but I'm afraid that, if I hang around much longer, I may loose my temper. I would hate to be remembered for that!

I will let you know when I'm leaving so that you can create another TPSSS thread for the new splicers on the forum. I hope splicing comes back on YCM. It was one subject that was relatively peaceful.

Who would you recommend that I contact? I know that I will contact Twisted' date=' but can you think of anyone else?

Zeroshot perhaps and El Beasto Perezoso.

Also, if you want, you can beg Jappio. He would be a great addition to the teacher list.

Sorry to see you go Realen.

And I know I haven't been helping with keeping splicing going on this site (it has been about 4 months since I last did any spriting at all).

I also know that I haven't been around as a teacher too much.

So farewell, and walk with the wind at your back and the sun on your shoulders. ^_^

Thaynk you. I haven't been doing any spriting lately either. (I guess that means that my showcase will be locked and unstickied..)

I was glad to know you and the other splicers on this site. ^_^

[spoiler=What do you guys think of this?]jzjfns.png

The (our) right wing needs more dynamic shading. As it is now, there is one flat color and no highlights. The left wing's shading is akward, with the lighter lines around the inside. The head's shading needs to match the rest of the body.

-_-

let's try that again

is it good for a n00b like me?

and do u people ever teach' date=' instead of pointing out stuff?

[/quote']

You remembered to save it as a PNG this time, so that's good. Over all, I've seen that the most common mistake new splicers make is shading errors, so it's nothing unusual. Overall, your doing better.

As for your question, we can't tell you how to splice, we can only show you your mistakes so you don't make the same mistake next time. If you don't understand splicing basics, there are some good tutorials in the tutorial section, otherwise, all we can really do is tell you how you can improve your splice.
