[DISC] Splendid Venus

Recommended Posts

Since the 500 ATK reduction is more an added bonus than the main point of the card, it doesn't need to be used in fairies. However, without the support of Valhalla, it isn't worth Summoning.

It's a decent card whose biggest weakness is that, if you can Summon it, you often don't need it. The most prominent example is that its effect stops Stardust Dragon - but if you can Summon it, you can just run over Stardust anyhow.

the no-negation is more of a bonus to venus' best buddies, the counter fairies. being unable to stop counter traps makes the fairies run a lil better.

i disagree at points, though, crabs. the 500 attack reduction is the main point of the card. its essentially a 33 beater, and any other fairy your holding on to is stronger for it too. this card has saved my fairy deck countless times with its attack reduction.

valhalla, athena, and gellenduo make this card considerably easier to get out, and its trade-in-able to boot.

it could be used elsewhere, but run in a fairy deck, its quite terrific. no other fairy is quite as devastating while simultaneously being so easy to summon.

If the 500 reduction were the main point of the card, Ultimate Tyranno would already do the job better.

Minor ATK modifications are less important than preventing negation.

Somebody on YCM mentioned running a Fairy Beatdown deck - I remember them mentioning Tethys coming out would be a good addition to the deck. That said, can anybody shed some light on how that deck works? I assume it's completely different from Counter Fairies, yes? Or is it just a different approach to the same strategy? I imagine it runs Valhalla, Mausoleum and big fairies like Venus, but I could be way off.

probably me.

my build still uses counter fairies as a draw engine and an alternate summoning condition for voltanis.

the decks focus is gellenduo and valhalla, which greatly ease the summoning of big fatasses like venus.

@crabs, ultimate tyranno isnt a fairy. fairies, unlike dinosaurs, have a lot of special summoning support. dinosaurs in the best of cases still want to be tribute summoned. the minor attack reduction really adds up, trust me. been running this troll forever. hes basically burden with legs. (actually, i dont think he has legs) and i dont think we can argue against the benefits of burden.

im not saying the anti-negation isnt good, but for me, it almost never comes up. countertraps and a few staple fairy mts (valhalla, reborn), are the only thing my fairy deck runs, and counter trap chains arent terribly common. they happen... but eh.

maybe if the deck was tooled differently.
