ITT: We predict the March Format.

Recommended Posts

I think this was one of the lists that was confirmed fake. The fact that several of the moves are either too stupid even for Konami (i.e. Gyzarus to 2), way too clever for Konami (i.e. DAD to 0, MST to 3, Cydra to 0), or otherwise just plain un-Konami-like (Exodia to 3, when Konami has always kept Exodia fixed at 1 of each piece by tradition) gives more evidence against this being real.

My thoughts on the new unconfirmed list:

Banning Cyber Dragon is a bit of an odd choice. Yes, it's abusable with the synchro mechanic but the limited card was barely used as is so I think this was uncalled for. Also makes the themed deck completely dead. Not sure if this will transfer to North America as we are just getting Chimeratech Fortress Dragon.

Dark Armed Dragon was asking to be banned multiple lists ago and it's about freaking time they took him out.

Heavy Storm hitting the list is also questionable to me. Over committing your back row should be punished, imo and anti-meta decks are extremely annoying without any reliable means to take out their lock downs. However, having your outs be taken out by a single card can be quite annoying.

Royal Oppression being banned is also questionable to me and was good tech choice for anti-meta decks among other things. It was keeping the Special Summoning in check but I absolutely hate this card so I'm partially happy this card is gone.

Foolish Burial, Goblin Zombie, Mezuki, Goyo Guardian, Card of Safe Return, and Emergency Teleport were all asking to be hit in some way or another. However, these changes pretty much kills the Zombie Deck type as they lose their recycling & tutor abilities as well as their draw engine. E.Teleport was necessary to limit but it also kills the Psychic Deck.

Witch of the Black Forest is okay now since Dark Armed Dragon is gone.

Cold Wave is also questionable to me since I don't think it was particularly wrong in the decks that it was utilized in. It was a good tech choice for GB's among other things.

Hate the D.D. cards so semi-limiting D.D. Warrior is an annoyance but it doesn't see a whole lot of play outside of a warrior toolbox/light based deck.

Gyazarus hitting 2 doesn't really effect anything, imo, since it gets recycled out for 2 GB's after clearing the field. Would have preferred seeing this being limited but I guess GB's need their outs as well.

Bestiari being semi-limited is not surprising but I don't think it will have that large of an impact on the Deck type. It will be an annoyance for GB users but this is a necessary move.

Armageddon Knight at 2 was needed in the Japanese format as most decks were abusing that with Malicious, Plaguespreader Zombie, and DAD. Personally, it doesn't effect me since I only run 1-2 of him anyways.

D.Hero - Malicious at 2 again was the wise choice due to the abundant abuse with D-Draw+E.Teleport->Level 8 Synchro.

Machine Duplication at 2 should be okay but this revives the Card Trooper strategies of old since Card Trooper is now unlimited.

Future Fusion at 2 is okay again since Cyber Dragon is banned so no more abuse with Chimeratech Overdragon and the Jinzo Returner+Jinzo FTK/OTK decks. This is going to help my Destiny End Dragoon deck but this also helps E-Hero decks and with Heavy Storm and DAD gone it'll see less destruction but it depends if people start main decking 2-3 copies of MST.

Card Trooper at 3 is questionable to me especially now that Machine Duplication is semi-limited. Helps LS though I doubt any of them will run it.

Necroface is fine at 3 and same with Exodia's head.

I guess MST at 3 is suppose to make up for the loss of Heavy Storm though cramming deck space for this is going to be annoying. I guess more Giant Trunade plays now.

I don't see anything wrong with Book of the Moon at 3's.

I don't know if I quite like Nobleman of Crossout at 3's. The fast format might be slowed dramatically with this ban list so setting monsters might be a more common play though I guess running the gamble that your opponent is going to set a monster will balance out main decking multiple copies of this card.

Overall, I'm liking this ban list since it should hopefully slow the format down dramatically but again this is an unconfirmed list so it may be different once the final one comes out.

Great list or the Greatist list

Guest Chaos Pudding

I saw a picture of a supposed on Pojo that had Fish Depth Charge in the corner. Obviously Fish Depth Charge is going to be banned, probably because of the vast amount of support Fish already have.
