JadenxAtemYAOI
anyways I'm using crobat as my lead now because he is fast and has access to u-turn bravebird and cross poisonLead pokemon should setup things like traps and walls, not attacks. YOU FORGOT CONFUSE RAY!First turn Confuse Ray is the worst. And with Crobat you'll always go first. Absol, trolliest pokemon everFocus EnergyStone EdgePsycho CutNight Slashgive it scope lens, and a nature that raises speed or attack over def/sp. def/sp. atkCritical Hit almost every turn ---- Anyway, what are the best WATER types? Scope Lens doesn't increase the ratio, look it up. Same case for Fearow with drill run.
.Leo
I know, that always irritated me when they asked for level 1-10 legendaries. Just plain idiots >_>. Gonna try to get into battling again. How has the meta changed since late spring-early summer?

Crobat is a terrible scouter due to most using Thundurus, Reunlicus, and just about any psychic and electric attack. Oh, and can't forget about the ice types. Any weavile or mamoswine will have crobat dead before you have a chance to know everything.Anything with great bulkiness or good hp regeneration like Abamosnow are good enough to scout. Vough
u-turn I just wanna check out the opponents pokemon. I don't have much time for competetive play TBH, if that's your goal, then I'd get a Staraptor or Weavile. Weavile is a great opener, especially if it knows U-Turn. Staraptor is amazing if you can kill stuff before it dies itself.

There are tons of fun pokemon that are awful in the meta.
.Rai
Staraptor is competitive. It became OU recently because of a lot of people using it as a 'suicide bomber'. Life Orb/Brave Bird, smashes about 2 pokemon and then it faints. Anyway, even if you're not doing competitive play, you still want to win =/ My favourite scout is Mienshao. Disregard the EVs and Nature if you can't be bothered. Mienshao@Leftovers252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 HPJolly Nature- Fake Out- Stone Edge- Hi Jump Kick- U - Turn
Vough
<3 Staraptor anyway, I'm trying to play platinum and start with a Chimcha that's Brave/Naughty/Lonely with a +speed personalityWHY IS IT SO HARD????????? Plus it takes like 3 whole minutes before you can check the nature so it's a lot more annoying -.-
Admiral Tim
So I want a strong OU lead, any suggestions?
.Leo
Mienshao is a good option. Latios with Specs can also hit a lot of threats like Politoad with TBolt, TTar with Surf and can scare them out. Try those two.

Admiral Tim
cloyster is working pretty well Attacks: Shell Smash, Icicle spear, rock blast, Razor shell and Multi link ability
Vough
I never considered a tank a good lead, let alone Cloyster. My favorite openers are always strong and fast, like Staraptor, Weavile, Jolteon, etc.Crobat is generally okay if you can U-Turn first turn, Brave Bird a K0 or successfull confuse ray. Current situation:Platinum. I have a Gyarados and Garchomp, and I need help deciding the right moves/items. Garchomp @ Lum BerryOutrageEarthquakeStone EdgeShadow Claw Gyarados @ King's RockWaterfallIce FangEarthquakeDragon Dance OR Gyarados @ Lum BerryAqua TailOutrageEarthquakeDragon Rage Garchomp @ Scope LensDragon RushStone EdgeEarthquakeShadow Claw best of each combination? .Rai
Yeah, Cloyster's not a tank, it's the opposite. Shell Smash then obliterate. Tentacruel
Ah, I see what you mean now. Still, being a lead helps set up so he doesn't get pwned by Stealth Rock.

.Rai
nice idea, might take that into account Cloyster's bad as a lead really. Better as a mid-game sweeper when everything is weakened. If it's a lead, setting up with Shell Smash takes way too long. i.e. Leads are fast to set up their attacks and are explosive Cloyster = explosiveCloyster=/= fast to set up
