OnSlaUghT
You always aim for Max IVs, the IV guy in Battle Tower identifies either Max or 26-30. And at level 1, its rather hard to differentiate between Max and High IVs. Use the Power Items to pass down IVs. To get a good nature Ditto, you can either catch one with a specific nature, or you can win an Abra from the game corner with synchronize and catch the dittos with the nature you want, and make sure to catch several and keep the ones with best IV's, for breeding purposes. Flame Dragon
I made a pretty good Heracross build. Heracross w/ Jolly Nature252ATK/252Speed/4SpDAbility: Guts Item: Flame Orb/Toxic Orb (Though I prefer Flame Orb) Swords DanceClose CombatStone EdgeFacade/Shadow Claw A Swords Dance on the first turn post-Guts TRIPLES Heracross' Attack stat to 1047. That's not a typo. Close Combat is there as a STAB move, but beware of the stat drops it gives afterward. Stone Edge is there to hit Flyers and Fires for super-effective damage, both of those would normally cripple a Heracross. The last slot is a toss-up between either Facade, which hits many different things hard except for Rock, Steel, and Ghost, or you could opt for Shadow Claw (or Night Slash) to cover Ghosts that you wouldn't hit with Facade, and also cripple Psychics as well. I love this set because it feels kinda like a Breloom Poison Heal set. Very risky, but has huge potential and huge return if it goes right. Underestimaing Heracross is never a wise thing to do, and in this case, more than ever.Having used Heracross for all of 4th gen I can safely say his speed will be a constant people for you. Yea, he can easily kill something given the chance, but if your opponent ha anything fast and harder hitting (a lot of pokemon in this meta) he's just going to die. I'd love to see it work cause I really love Hera, but atm I'm not seeing it happen. And how is it more then ever? Hera's been able to do that since last gen.... Also, why no Megahorn? Breloom Poison Heal set is risky? Since when? Breloom is easily one of the safest pokemon in the game since will ALWAYS removes something thanks to Spore and then dent another with Focus Punch. Even if he doesn't dent something, putting someting to sleep will get Loom's job done since he's already removed a problem.
wiithepeople
Also, why no Megahorn? I figure that weaknesses should be covered. If I'm covering the weaknesses that Heracross has, especially it's 4x weakness to Flying, then nothing is going to stop it.
OnSlaUghT
Yeah but you will want to inflict major damage on those who don't resist it

Even with the power boost Facade isn't as good as Megahorn. As for Shadow Claw, the only Ghost types you'll really need to be afraid of is Gengar, and 1) He'll out speed and kill you even with it, and 2) Even if he doesn't Stone Edge, and maybe even Megahorn at over 1000ATK, would kill him. And again, he is VERY stoppable since a lot of pokemon are going to outspeed him.

I usually store them in my box and just use a random one each time, but I'll try to look for a specific one to breed Pokemon with.

Flame Dragon
hmm...you just found the way to victory for me. I should go with HeraTRoss set.Using it on a TR team also has problem since you eat 1 turn switching to him and another setting up. The best thing to do is maybe passing a speed boost to him with something like Ninjask or Blaziken. How do you check IVs? The same screen where you check natures/abilities/etc. or somewhere else? The only way to find out what your IVs are is by plugging the pokemon's stat into an online calculator or by leveling to 100 and checking then. burnpsy
passing a speed boost to him with something like ... Blaziken. is an illegal combination, IIRC.

Flame Dragon
So smogon has made it's next ban. Blaziken is now uber. I'm still a bit mad that they did this when I've never had any big problems with him. At least no more compared to some of the other heavy hitters this gen. Dark
lolololblazikenuber I think they should start banning certain abilities on Pokemon, just like they banned having two Pokemon with great synergy on the same team. Blaziken is UU or even worse without Speed Boost. <___<

Blaziken is UU or even worse without Speed Boost. <___>Well apparently after SD he OHKO or 2OKOs like everything. Honestly, I do think he is OU but he isn't centralizing the meta at all. IMO it's weather that is doing that.
Dark
Well, think about it. You get him in on something like a Scarf Grass Knot. You SD as they switch out. Now you are standing at +2 Attack and +1 Speed, which is more than enough to outspeed almost all of the unboosted metagame. You can run three attacks, and if you opt for two, you can run Protect which gives you +2 Speed, which is a lot more than enough to outspeed most of the +1 metagame. +2 Attack on a Blaziken is a truckload, and I believe Blaziken is a ton more bulky than Infernape, so it's not like Blaziken is surely going to die in one hit. I am not saying banning him was the best idea, but I wasn't involved in testing and I probably don't know half the power a +2 Blaziken can deal. Maybe he can OHKO most of the metagame with three attacks and a +2. I really think weather is the most centralizing aspect of the metagame, kind of how Stealth Rock was last gen. Stealth Rock wasn't banworthy, granted, but it was everywhere, and now it seems like these new Drizzle and Drought Pokemon are everywhere.
TheTurtleOnceCalledGod
They should ban Speed Boost, Shadow Tag, Sand Veil, and Snow Cloak. That would help balance the meta.My current team plan:Posted by National dex number, not by order in team.
Flame Dragon
No, I can understand the argument, it's just I've never seen him do that much damage first hand. And yea, weather is the new SR. I do agree about banning the above abilities, but of all of them I think Speed Boost is the least damaging. Deathcore
While the site was down, I remade my games on every Pokemon game I own from Generation III and up. I decided on the team, natures, movesets, and everything like that. However, I'm having trouble with the final move on my Swampert in Emerald. I got the first three, but I can't decide on the final move. If you want to know, here's my Swampert. AdamantSurf / EarthquakeIce Beam / ??? Thoughts? I was thinking Protect, but I'm still hesitate on it.
TheTurtleOnceCalledGod
Protect, Stealth Rock, or Roar, dependent on your team spread.

Dark
I'd actually go with dual-STAB and SR and Roar, because every time I've used a Swampert with Avalanche, it seems to be the least-useful move in my moveset. And rarely have I encountered a Dragon switching into a Swampert because they know I can live a hit and Ice Beam their face. But you really shouldn't have gotten an Adamant nature. MixPert with Surf, Ice Beam, EQ, and Stealth Rock is so much more useful, and you don't have to worry about what spectrum you want to hit, as you have a mixed set of moves. Deathcore
I was trying to go with a MixPert, but I guess Adamant nature is horrible on it. Ya know, since Sapphire and FireRed is taking up a lot of my time, I'm not to far into Emerald, I can restart and get a better Swampert/MixPert. Actually since Blaziken is uber now (corrent?), I need to restart my Sapphire and chose Treecko. Team redesign here I come.
