Flame Dragon

Okay, I think I might give Gengar a Choice Scarf since he's Modest, and I forgot that Timid is better on non-choice sets. >.>

That is a smart thing to do.

Anyway, I was up against a sun team with Gyara as my lead vs his Fortress. I DD since For can't do crap to me while he sets up. He then switches in Ninetails as I get in a second dance. Thinking a burn was coming and want counter that and get more speed to outrun the guys team I DD a 3rd time as he sends in Venusaur. I'm not sure if my +3 Gyara would out run, but I stay in thinking I should and worse case I take some damage as I OHKO with Ice Fang. I DO outrun and get the kill. He then sends back in Ninetails and I EQ to kill. I do and my opponent rage quits. I lol and post this.

Lol! If that were my Sun team you were facing, your Gyara would have got a face full of Hypnosis. Drought Ninetales without some form of anti-sweeper moves is dumb.

Odds are he had it, or Wisp which was the first ant-sweeper move I thought of. But odds are he thought I would waterfall and afraid a +2 one would OHKO (I'm sure it would have) he did a double switch to Venusaur. Also Hyp has crap acc making it very unreliable.

Me and Fenrir were going through the Smogon tentative OU list, and we were shocked as hell.

It looks like this gen isn't even going to have a trace of stall in it, though. Because, unlike last gen, we actually have offensive abilities to work with sand, so you can't just send out a Hippowdon and expect it to stall all goddamn day.

I'm super glad that Porygon2 is not only back up to OU, but also one of the most-used Pokemon in OU. Porygon2 with the Eviolite (sp?) is just kickass. Sucks that he can't have Recover and Leftovers.

It's funny you say that, since in one of my last matches I got totally walled. but yea, stall isn't as big this gen.

Odd that P2 is that high since I rarely see them.

Also link please. I wish to see whos doing well so far this gen.

You know what? I really hate Smogon. I mean, competitive Pokemon is fun and all, but they act like if something's not the best at what it does, it sucks and there's no point in using it.

That, and they're under the impression that Nintendo might actually give a damn about their tiers and other bullsh**.

But why would you use Zebstrika when Jolteon is just better? For OU play you shouldn't just use a worse pokemon unless you have a really good reason for it. Sure for something like Blaziken vs Infernape it comes down to preference and even though Blaze is better you can justify using Ape.

What I'm talking about Flame Dragon, is that apparently Haxorus sucks because it's slow. I've gotten plenty of sweeps with it on PO. Hell, I've gotten plenty of Charizard sweeps too and that's not supposed to be OU. I've had tons of success with Blastoise as a wall even though he is obviously inferior to all those other water types.

He is slow, but DD easily fixes it, but his move pool is still very limited. Char has Solar Power making him very deadly. And I have gotten off 6-0 sweeps with char even back in 4th gen. Rain Dish makes Blast a good wall in rain. Those pokemon have niches and uses are some teams. Outside of those teams though you need a good reason to use them still.

Also, I wish to see this, if you want to battle, let me know. I'm .Blaze. on PO.

20+ ferroseeds so far, no relaxed ones. ;-;

You must SYNCHRONIZE your watch to fix that.

According to Smogon, Charizard is tentative OU.

Yeah.

:D

Thank you weather. And link nao please to list.

So I picked up White version on release day (Late post, I know) as of now, i've seen 320 of the 649 Pokemon without migrating ANYTHING yet. I'd love to battle and trade (I'm missing alot of the Black exclusives. So trading with Black version would be veeeery helpful to me.)

I decided to remake my games on Sapphire/Emerald/FireRed, so I can raise some Pokemon for competitive battling when I get Black. Since I'm still new to competitive battling and everything, what are good natures for these pokemon? Just natures, I'll get the movesets down tomorrow.

Blaziken

Ludicolo

Altaria

Gardevoir

Sandslash

Magneton

Swampert

Swellow

Aggron

Ninetales

Salamence

Hariyama

Charizard

Hitmonlee

Lapras

Snorlax

Tyranitar

Jolteon

The colors are what game it is; you should know what the games are. Some of the pokemon I know people wouldn't consider "great", but i wanted to use them. Again, I only want the some of the good natures for them. Thanks!

@ ADHD: Competitive battling isn't about using Pokemon you like, it is about using the best Pokemon. Smogon is the only place where people actually know what they are talking about in terms of testing and banning Pokemon. Maybe you've gotten sweeps with Charizard, but that doesn't make it good. I've swept with Ditto before, but Ditto still sucks really badly. I'm not saying Smogon is like a god, but Smogon is pretty much right about everything.

Besides natures, you should probably focus on IVs too, they are just as important.

I made a pretty good Heracross build.

Heracross w/ Jolly Nature

252ATK/252Speed/4SpD

Ability: Guts Item: Flame Orb/Toxic Orb (Though I prefer Flame Orb)

Swords Dance

Close Combat

Stone Edge

Facade/Shadow Claw

A Swords Dance on the first turn post-Guts TRIPLES Heracross' Attack stat to 1047. That's not a typo. Close Combat is there as a STAB move, but beware of the stat drops it gives afterward. Stone Edge is there to hit Flyers and Fires for super-effective damage, both of those would normally cripple a Heracross. The last slot is a toss-up between either Facade, which hits many different things hard except for Rock, Steel, and Ghost, or you could opt for Shadow Claw (or Night Slash) to cover Ghosts that you wouldn't hit with Facade, and also cripple Psychics as well.

I love this set because it feels kinda like a Breloom Poison Heal set. Very risky, but has huge potential and huge return if it goes right. Underestimaing Heracross is never a wise thing to do, and in this case, more than ever.
