I'll do Scyther:

Scyther @ Life Orb

Jolly

Technician

252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe

~ Swords Dance

~ Aerial Ace

~ X-Scissor

~ Brick Break

Scyther has naturally high Attack and Speed, and Swords Dance and Life Orb complement that to make Scyther one of the most vicious physical sweepers in UU. After a Swords Dance (usually on an opponent that is guaranteed to switch out, such as Hypno or a Choice-locked Fighting-type), very little will block its rampage considering its good physical movepool and excellent type coverage. Aerial Ace is Scyther's most powerful STAB attack since Technician boosts its mediocre 60 base power to a terrific 90 and is Scyther's main form of attack. X-Scissor is a useful secondary STAB move in an environment pullulated with Psychic and Dark-type Pokémon and can often deal sufficient damage to Pokémon resistant to Aerial Ace. However, such Pokémon are usually better handled with a Fighting move, a type that when combined with Flying hits everything but Zapdos and Rotom at least neutrally; Brick Break is the more generic choice and tends to be more reliable because of its constant base power, but Reversal is more potent when Scyther's HP is at 34.4% or less (Life Orb and Stealth Rock make it easy for Scyther to drop to such a low HP).

There is a multitude of options Scyther can use instead of various moves on this set. Night Slash is acceptable over X-Scissor for hitting Rotom while maintaining type coverage against Psychics, but it doesn't do anything else of note and loses a huge amount of power; in fact, Aerial Ace does a minimum of 87% to the standard Rotom after a Swords Dance anyways. Quick Attack can function in either of the latter two moveslots and receives a Technician boost, so it is exceedingly efficacious at picking off weakened versions of the few UU Pokémon that are naturally faster than Scyther and offers insurance against Choice Scarf users. Quick Attack also has another major advantage against Sucker Punch users (chiefly Absol, Toxicroak, and Cacturne): if Scyther uses Quick Attack while the opponent uses Sucker Punch simultaneously, and if Scyther is faster than the opponent, which it most likely is, Quick Attack will hit first and behave normally, while Sucker Punch completely fails. Baton Pass is also viable, especially if one intends to use this Scyther early in the game and has other Pokémon that would benefit greatly from a Swords Dance. Preferably, Scyther's recipients should be capable of destroying many of Scyther's counters; some of the best choices are Fighting-types like Primeape and Hitmontop.

I would just like to let everyone know, if it hasn't been anounced already, that there's going to be a Remake of Pokemon Gold and Pokemon Silver. The names are "Pokemon HeartGold" and "Pokemon SoulSilver". There's going to be a new female Character that will take the place of Kris (Marina in the Pokemon Chronicles Special). The layout will be the same as D, P and Pl. More as it develops.

Not effectively but yes' date=' so long as it hasn't taken any damage prior or Scizor has some ATK boosts going on.

Would it stop CB Scizor?

Also, I need a Scizor counter on my team. Does Swampert work or would something like Heatran/Zapdos be more appropriate?

Heatran is perfect' date=' Swampert needs to come in on a free switch but it can't do much damge to Scizor, Zapdos is good with Heatwave and enough Spe and Bulk behind it.

I assumed as much.

My team right now is very Scizor weak.

Gallade can handle most leads as long as they suspect Hypnosis if they're running Azelf, otherwise, I can take most standard leads with it.

But after Gallade, I don't have the answers for Scizor or DDMence. And there's no sidedeck in Pokemon or splashables that keep them at bay.

Swampert can come in and Roar it away and hide the problem under the bed, but I really don't have any options outside of Azumarill with Reflect up. Because Cress can't really touch Scizor as it's made for countering Mence.

The only thing I can think of is replacing Porygon Z with ScarfTran to stop Scizor. Which also rounds out the team more.

I was also thinking of replacing Pert with Brongzong for much needed Sleep Support.

But then I need to find a slot for Rock Polish Rhyperior, whom I really want on the team.

Maybe:

Gallade

Rhyperior

Brongzong

Cress

Heatran

Snorlax

But then I lose Azumarill and it's priority move of win. Gallade doesn't count because he's supposed to die after taking something down.

But this way, I have a good bit of resistances and options for common threats.

If you have Ice Beam on Cress then you've got your DD Mence counter.

Would Ice Shard on a hard hitting Pokemon (like Donphan or something) also be a good counter to a DD Salamence?

Very. I let Sals DD away because my Ice Shard is normally one of the last pokemon I have left so eveen with +6 speed and attack I don't care.

Other good Scizor counters are: Rotom H (but the others work) Empoleon (most are banded and most Empoleon's won't take much damage with x4 resist attacks), Gyarados, Heatran.

I was playing through my Diamond and I caught a Abra (it wasn't shiny, but I have a very hard time catching them). So, I have a question.

What's a good nature for Abra (the one I have right now is a Impish nature) and what's a good moveset for Abra?

I was thinking of something that could counter it's weakness(es) (if possible), but I have no idea. Got any ideas on a moveset? Should I even run a Abra? Sorry, if this doesn't go here.

Yes, when you save the code, you select the boxes that refer to the things you edited so that it only puts that into the code. Oh and don't mess with the IVs or I'll kill you.

@Shadow Avian: Alakazam is good; CalmMind, Psychic, EnergyBall, FocusBlast
