Orchestra, piano, and other more 'mature' song discussion room...

No problem. One of my friend's marching bands had to play that for their show. It was epic watching all of them along with the color guard. It really sickens me when people can't appreciate the sound of a piano or the talent of a classical vocalist...

This one gets me all the time...

YAY the Canon in D!!^___^ I love it so much! It's been my favourite song during the last 10 years or something.

When I saw the title I was about to post it, but looks like you beat me.;)

Anyway I still like classical and any other instrumental music, although I don't think it's more "mature". Many people still like it nowadays, but they also like the modern stuff.

Here is another epic example:

Anything by Verdi is great, actually.

Pavorotti had a grand voice, too, so sad he's dead.:(

Classical music is very beautiful, and can be very enjoyable to listen to. My issue with it is that it is so damn long. I enjoy it for the first 3 minutes, but the next 6 minutes get a little repetitive. :/

Of course, the more contemporary stuff isn't nearly as long as the original classicals. I enjoy them quite a bit.

Hans Zimmer is a beast at this stuff.

I absolutely love the sound of classical music. A lot of the metal I listen to is infused with a lot of classical influences.

But, since this topic is about purely classical.. A few I feel I should mention.

I absolutely LOVE Dies Irae (I think Opalmoon posted that). Canon In D is amazing as well as pretty much anything Beethoven, Mozart, or Bach has written.

Though I was disappointed that these following two names have been left out... Ludovico Einaudi. He's a contemporary classical composer from Italy. His pieces are absolutely BEAUTIFUL. See here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qmxFAT581T4

And, seeing as I love the sound of violin, I'm a big fan of Niccolò Paganini.

:-D
