To be fair, GX actually had some clever deconstructionary elements, which the other series' seem to lack. Sadly, the clever bits in GX were drowned out by its other aspects; trying deconstruct The Ace / the Boring Invincible Hero sounds like a good idea until you realize that the only way to do so is to put up with this character for the entire series and make him hog all the screentime.

Well said Crab.

I preferred Judai's manga lose to his anime loses, because that was just a good twist. (I mean not winning the tournament and Manjoume doing so instead) GX did have some good episodes, I liked how Season 4 went if you cut the final 4 episodes off. (Yugi killed it)

Indeed. All of Judai's regular anime losses didn't have the same effect, and he only didn't win the GX tournament because he was too busy saving the world from the king of Andorra or something. It's like they chose his losses specifically to make him look even more overpowered.

On another note, if you think about DM, the Society of Light's recruitment method is a hilarious deconstruction. That, at least, was done reasonably well.

Are dumb? Very well said not. They add an extra dimension on it and give them a reason to get hurt without the use of a Yami No Game, such as Yusei's dangerous injury and JACK's sprained or broken arm.

Crystal are you talking just about his Anime Deck or his Manga deck for Judai? Plus LaDD pwned him.

Yugi: Always has a card that makes him win' date=' but would be pointless in any other situation.

Jaden: Stacks his deck.

Yusei: Always has the same cards.

I think 5ds is better.

No I think Japen's Fusion Deck is bigger then his own deck

and Motorbike duel-disks are dumb

In real life Jaden's deck wouldn't even be tournament legal and nobody would duel him. Besides if you think his deck is really as good as the writers make it seem then you would see more e-hero junk than dark armed dragon decks. As for dueling motorcycles I don't see whats so weird about them.

1) Anime follows different rules (Its impossible for the anime to follow banlists)

2) Judai's cards were around before the rules that limited them was.

3) E-Heroes were probably just used by Judai to sell. E-Hero Stratos isn't doing too bad though.

GX starts following the real-life banlist sometime during Seasons 2 and 3. That's why everyone stops running Pot of Greed' date=' and Judai starts using Fifth Hope instead of the Mirage of Nightmare + Emergency Provisions combo.

3) E-Heroes were probably just used by Judai to sell.

And then they were used in every bloody episode and took up about a quarter of every single card set, making all of them collectively The Wesley.

Yu-Gi-Oh FTW !

I really prefer long duels, yu-gi-oh duels were great, lasting for 2 to 6 episodes. Also yami yugi pwns all, his decks were always amazing. Unlike the stupid hero decks jaden use, and the completely random deck yusei use.

GX was an epic Fail.

5D's is, well, very good

but still YGO is better.

I WANT LONG DUELS BACK -_-

Yusei's is way less random than Yugi's. Yusei's is a low-level Synchro deck based around the ______ Synchron monsters. Yugi's... well, it runs Dark Magician alongside a couple of Phantom Beasts and Celtic Guardian.

DeVil that is the story of any main character. God draw when they need it, probably highest price lose was Yusei Vs Kiryu that so nearly killed him and left him scared of Kiryu, something that became very obvious to all, even JACK beating him around didn' help, and then to lose more friends, atleast unlike Judai he didn't 'kill' them
