This Goes Out to Those Spammers

Recommended Posts

OK, as the founder of the Spam Stoppers, it's my duty to remind everyone to read the rules. Recently, people have been causing mischief around the forums. Spam and flame are not tolerated on this site. Anyone caught doing so will be punished accordingly, and gets to have a little talk with me. As busy as moderators are, they have no time to deal with people like them, so they just ban them. I, as a Spam Stopper, hate when moderators have to do that, so I like to help out people who are on the moderators last nerve. And you know what? I have a life too. I have places to go, people to talk to, y'know? I myself don't always have time for this, so I am asking people out there to join the Spam Stoppers. It makes it much easier to have a spam free site without people getting banned.

If you join the Spam Stoppers, and you're sending someone a PM, you must say it in this way, and have correct punctuation and grammar:

Hello ______,

I have heard that you have a habit/people are annoyed that you...

.........................................................................................

.........................................................................................

You could _____________. Another way to gain friends and trust by the moderators are _____________.

If you are to be a member of the Spam Stoppers, you must be an active member as well, and should come on about every day.

Thanks for reading, I hope you join the over 200 people who have joined me.

WELL, IF YOU ASK ME... YCM HAS A WEIRD CASE OF SPAM. Spam is leading members to another website in order to DRIVE AWAY members on YCM. In YCM, spam has been mistaken for PP (Pointless Posts). This is not spam: Let's grab CHEESEBURGERS!!! This is spam: Hey! Come to my website! So, I think you have spam mixed up with PP... a spammer would be someone advertising their website. I guess I will help the Spam Stoppers... but only a little bit...

Hmm... Yep' date=' C/O.

But you know what? New members join all the time - and atleast 70% of them [i']will[/i] spam. That's the problem, it can't be stopped.

More like 80-90% new members will spam. The problem with rules is that people who need to read to rules are the ones who don't.

@TC: It is bad but it is impossible for all the Moderators to be on here 24/7 banning people for spamming and such. And mini-Modding doesn't make you much better than the spammers. Like spamming, mini-Modding is against the rules.

Moderators can't just simply ban every new member they see.

And moderators have a life too' date=' you know?

[/quote']

No,not every new member they see, every new member that spams.

And yeah, moderators have a life, but it was them who made the decision to become mods.

There is no need to mini-mod,you can jut help mods out by reporting spammers.Mini-modding means you yell at someone, mainly. As a member, you have the right to report anyone that abuses you, harasses you or harms your privacy.

Arceus, I already explained the etymology of spam in your last topic. Learn to read.

This topic doesn't seem to be a comment or suggestion at all. Rather, it appears to be instructions to members of a specific club. As such, it should be posted in the thread for your club, or sent in a PM to club members.

(By the way, the template you provided is grammatically incorrect in several places. For example, "Another way to gain friends and trust by the moderators are _____________" should be "Another way to gain friends and trust by the moderators is _____________". Fail.)
