Let's-a go.

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya is a horribly overrated mediocre series that has no real outstanding qualities.

FLCL is random nonsense that really isn't very funny.

Death Note relies on horribly contrived plot twists that come out of nowhere.

Code Geass is a trainwreck.

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann is just another generic Super Robot show.

Yu-Gi-Oh! is product placement incarnate, and replaces actual action with card game non-action.

You know what's better than these shows? School Days. Sure, it may be a generic lighthearted romantic comedy with the usual happy harem ending, but it's executed perfectly.

WE -

ahem -

THE WILL

wants somethin' more.

(Though School Days is good.)

I've heard Higurashi is a Death Note-esque battle of wits, albeit made a bit lighter in tone and more family-friendly. I haven't actually watched it, though.

TMOHS has some nice, albeit confusing elements about it.

I've only heard of FLCL and TTGL, but you're descriptions sound dead-on.

I haven't watched much of Death Note.

Code Geass is also very derivative. The main character is like Light, has a Gundam, and gains the Sharingan by the end of episode 1.

Yu-Gi-Oh! was very well summed up, but it does contain some non-card game-related action.

Topic needs moar Naruto and Bleach.

Action unrelated to card games in Yugimons:

1) Kemo ambushes Kaiba. Kaiba stops him by jamming his gun with a card.

2) In Battle City, Kaiba rescues Tea by throwing a card.

3) Parts of the Millennium World arc.

Topic needs moar Naruto and Bleach.

Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece all have too many seasons. That alone gives them about a billion derivative flaws.

Meh, let people like what they like

FLCL is random nonsense that really isn't very funny.

That's because you don't get any of the jokes

Death Note relies on horribly contrived plot twists that come out of nowhere.

Dude, crime drama.

Code Geass is a trainwreck.

... I'll agree with you there

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann is just another generic Super Robot show.

Just like every Generic Super Robot Show

Yu-Gi-Oh! is product placement incarnate, and replaces actual action with card game non-action.

Actually, I think Pokemon has Yugioh in that aspect

That's only limited to DM, and even then you missed many parts.

I could care less about One Piece, but all three of those shows were forced to endure hundreds of filler episodes.

Aside from the number of seasons, I demand at least five examples of "derivative flaws".

Oh, and about Yu Yu Hakusho? That only had four seasons.
