Dark
I think what we should do is find the 6 TOP Pokemon battlers on this Forum and assign each of them a Pokemon to create. Nothing can be ripped from Smogon, whatsoever. Which means we will have to learn speed tiers, damage calcs and all that shiz. And we can make our own Shoddy team together. I CALL DA PHYSICAL ATTACKUR!
Felix
Nonononoo, I mean a WiFi group to pwn Youtube, among other things.
Zexaeon
=D We should be called "Organization VI"! *sameless bias*
Felix
Bah there's only one part of YCM, the world even, where something is cool enough to be called "Organization".
Queen-Dragoon
Anyone want to battle? I'm itching for some destruction!
Zexaeon
xD Where were you yesterday, Dragoon? I'm up for a battle today, but I won't be home till like, real late in your time. @Felix: Yeah, I guess you're right. xD
Sammidysam
This morning I hatched a Drifloon egg... It was a girl and it's mother was named DRIFFY so I named it DRIFFY 2! How wonderful! At the moment it is level 4. But what is weird is that he already knows Payback and Gust. Weird...
Zexaeon
._. It's called hereditary moves.
Dark
I like my idea better. Get the top 6 battlers and assign them each a role to make in a team. No Smogon, no Serebii, all us. I think it's a pretty good idea, it'll put our skills to the test. And I am the only one with a reliable and 99% accuracte damage calculator. =D
Zexaeon
=/ I have one, too, Dark. It's called Psypokes. I also know the formula and can do it myself.
Felix
Yeah I know the damge calc formula too, it's on Smogon/Serebii and aparently Psypokes. Anywho check this out. I'm going to post on Smgon suggesting we it can count is as a tier officialy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jmKCGPSqcew I'd alter the rules a little bit though: - 4 on 4 (Seems solid) - No Ubers (duh, maybe some OU/UU/even NU legendaries) - Sleep Clause (duh) - Species Clause (duh) - Every combination of moves and abilities are allowed^^ - Sash Clause - Max Evs are allowed (total 1275) but each stat can only have 255 max^^ - Max Ivs are allowed^^ - Wonder Clause (No more than 1 Poke can have Wonder Gaurd) - Wondertomb/eye cannot be healed from Poison or Burn except by Items. - Soul Dew Clause If you're wondering why some other Standard Clauses aren't there. It's because some abilities and moves cancel them out, so because all Pokemon can use all moves, the need for some normal Clauses aren't there. I'm sure Dark and everyone else who has Pokesav access will be wanting to try this out.
Queen-Dragoon
I'll make you guys Pokes for it but it doesn't really interest me... Easy ways to abuse it.
Felix
That's the point. The fact is, everyone gets to abuse it which makes it awesome. At first i thought, everybody would just use what's best at a particular job and there'd be just team clones but then I thought that if so many people are going to do that, then someone else might decide to make a team that would kill those guys. All in all it just looks cool. I think it would take a lot more skill that normal 6v6 personaly. Think about it, even that Huge Power Regigigas can be walled by a Phy Wall with Unaware. EDIT: Which is better, the avi I have or.
Zexaeon
._. A hacked tier. Uh....not really interested. ^^; I mean, really, if you can have any combination of moves on it, you could just pick an "ideal" moveset, and give it to the pokemon in the game with the best stats for that moveset. If there's no limitation, several pokemon just get pushed aside as pointless. It's like "Hey! Let's give a max Speed/Split Def/SpD, Jolly Metagross Serene Grace, along with Headbutt, Rock Slide, Bite, and Explosion, just to add a nice finisher!" ._. It's too easy. Felix
I disagree, the fact that there's an infinite amount of sets and counters is my reasoning.
Zexaeon
Yeah, but since its an infinite amount, how can you make a counter? If ANYTHING can have ANY move, you don't even have an idea of what Pokemon you need to counter against. How can you possibly set up a counter in advance?
Felix
Wondertomb? That's pretty much a defensive core right there. Pretty much every team will have Wondertomb. Once Wondertomb is dead or atleast there OHKO blocker it's pretty much game over if you have a no guard OHKO Poke.
Queen-Dragoon
Zexaeon is right. There is no way to make predictions now bar the two you have pointed out plus one Pokemon with Fire Fang. Unless a bunch of new rules are added then no skill is used.
Zexaeon
So we know Spiritomb will be there. That doesn't change anything else. Under these rules, anything can have No Guard and a OHKO move. Knowing what moves are coming is no way to set up a counter. An appropriate counter needs to be able to counter the Pokemon itself, and predicting that is completely impossible if anything can do anything. The only thing you'll ever know for sure is that you need a OHKO blocker for the inevitable No Guarder, and a Toxic-user to hit Wondertomb. That's 2 out of six roles. What do we do with the other four?
Felix
The only Pokemon worth having No Guard and Sheer Cold is Ninjask because it's the fastest. Anything bulky isn't worth it because you'll be able to reach in extremes of +12 ATK what with Huge Power and powerfull Belly Passers. Not much can survive a +12 anything bar Wondertomb and then that's where Fire Fang comes in. Fire Fang is a given on at least one Pokemon but it's always going to be a strong Physical attacker. Also if you read again, you'll see it's 4 Pokemon in a team not 6. It's basically a completely different game but has the same mechanics (like doubles). You're being to ignorant about this. It's like normal Meta, there's only a few sets competitive enough on each Pokemon to be worth using. Same with this, the fastest strongest Pokemon come together with the best move sets for that tier. It's getting the best out of already used sets. Scouting will be key in this hacked tier so you can figure out what's coming, I intend to have Protect on at least two of my Pokes. EDIT: Come on Zex, reply. You're better game than Dark is.
Zexaeon
=/ I'm sorry Felix, the overall idea just doesn't suit my fancy. You have your arguments and all, but in my eyes, a game where anything can do anything is too far out of the range of prediction, and makes the game just silly. And sorry for the late reply, I was battling Dragoon.
Felix
Meh, i still think it'll be cool. The fact that there's only going to be a few Pokemon you can expect to see is what decreases unpredictability plus move sets are only going to have as much SE coverage as they can get so there's only a few move sets that qualify. What was the result?
Queen-Dragoon
5-4 to me 4-2 to Zexaeon Both boring... No idea why...
Felix
What set up did you get on the first? I can only assume it was your Ninjask's doing.
