Tekken Ham
... sucks. I haven't thought much about Zex's tourney recently' date=' ideas for teams? I think I'm getting a bit bored of YCM tbh, I haven't been posting much recently.[/quote'] NFE should be a Weather team because Zex isn't letting us get some of the better 2nd stage evos. Thus, first stage pokes that benefit off of weather work well. Sandstorm:HippopotasDiglettShieldonSandshrewCacneaBronzorGeodudeMagnemiteGabiteRhyhornBaltoy etc. Thus, SS teams would benefit from a water absorber like Poliwag, Wooper, or bulky waters like Slowpoke and maybe a special tank like Munchlax. Hail:SnoverSphealSnoruntSwinubShellder Hail has a much more shallow pool of available pokes that would run well, but it can be supported by walls such as Bronzor, Makuhita, and Munchlax. Rain:Just take all the lower forms of a generic rain team because swift swim stays in the family and most rain pokes have a decent first evolution unlike SS where most SS pokes don't have a decent first evolution. Dark
I never really thought Banette was useful for anything. :/ And you named your Shaymin ''GeorgeBush''? STOP DEGRADING SHAYMIN'S STATUS! xD Shaymin is a bush that just happens to be named George' date=' there is no connotation to any real life person, no matter how retarded that person is. It also bombs things with seeds. Banette CAN absorb sleep, but I got a Frisky one from a giveaway. I was thinking some random Choice Band set for the lulz.[/quote'] lolbush&seedbomb Wait, is Dratini even allowed in Zex's tourney?
Shradow
I've got a question, people talk about SRing to get shinies, what does SRing mean?
Dark
Soft reseting. This only works, however, on icon Pokemon. For example, in FRLG, let's say you wanted a shiny Articuno. You'd go to Seafoam islands, and save in front of the Articuno. Because this is an icon Pokemon, you TALK TO IT for it to battle you, it doesn't show up in the wild or otherwise. If the Articuno is not shiny, you soft reset the game (A + B + Start + Select in GBA, Start + Select + L + R in DS) and battle Articuno again. SR = Soft Reset
Felix
I don't have the patience to Soft Reset for shiny legends. How long does it usually take?
Dark
It's a 1 in 8192 chance, so I'll say a crapload of time. But I did it once for Heatran. Only took 6 hours of CONSTANT resetting for me, and that's short to some people.
Felix
I thought it was a bit less on legendaries, I guess not. I'd die of boredom. I’d SR for a nature, that’s it.
Dark
SRing for natures is easy. SRing for natures and IVs without an AR is freaking hell.
Felix
If I want a legendary with IVs I hunt the internet and scrounge of my friends. I think I caught a Heatran and Celebi with IVs though.
Dark
Most legends with 31 IV's are AR'd. But, they look 100% legit, so you'll never really know.
Felix
I got a Rayquaza in Emerald with 31 IVs. I think one IV being 31 is quite common on legendary but any more than that and it's either an event or a hack.
Dark
You can soft reset for a maximum of 2 IVs and nature. That's fairly easy, it takes about as much time as a shiny sr would. But when you want 3 IVs (Mixquaza), you are looking at maybe 24 hours constant sring.
Shradow
You could SR for the starters at the beginning of the game then, couldn't you?
Dark
The only problem with that is, you don't have access to a PC Box until a few battles after the game starts, so you'll rack up stupid EV's you may not want. As long as you have EV-reduction berries, yes, you can SR for starters. Also, you can't IV check starters due to their low levels, you lacking Rare Candies, and you being unable to access WiFi until Jubilife.
Tekken Ham
Also, really, there are maybe 3 starters that are viable in OU, and really, they are pretty damn easy to breed with Dittos. Viable OU's include:InfernapeSwampertEmpoleon Alot of starters fit into UU well, with the exception of Meganium and Charizard. Meganium sucks balls while Zard is raped by Stealth Rocks. Starters just don't do that well in Wi-Fi.
Dark
Hey! BellyZard is amazing in UU, because there is no Suicune and no Swampert. And Empoleon isn't even used much in OU. (._.)
Tekken Ham
Empoleon is pro in OU. Believe it! desu-wa. Bellyzard gets raped by Medicham, and Azumarril, and Stealth Rocks, and Blastoise, and Quaggy, and anything with priority.
Dark
I believe you are missing one important detail. No one sets up Steath Rock in UU. With all the Poison-types, people are more likely going to be setting up Toxic Spikes and Spikes. And in UU, you have more free turns to do that. OU is probably the only metagame where you'll find Stealth Rock (maybe in Ubers if you are a Shedinja-paranoid person).
Felix
No SR in UU? That's just not right Dark:/
Dark
But there isn't. The only reason you'd actually think it's viable to use it is... maybe Swellow and Altaria? And out of the many Flying-types in UU and NU, only a few are actually useful. So Stealth Rock has little use, and (Toxic)Spikes have even more use. Tekken Ham
Arcanine, Drifblim, Honchkrow, Swellow, etc. I find that SR isn't a top priority when I play UU, but having something like Registeel set it up is usually fine and helps out in the long run with residual damage and stuff like Honchkrow. Dark
Felix, you need to sign this club up in the new club sticky thread. Not sure if you've gotten around to it yet, but just a reminder if you haven't. @ Tekken: Yes, but the majority of UU isn't going to benefit from having SR up, nor will it to 25% to too many Pokemon. And since UU is less of an offensive metagame than OU, there are many more turns so you CAN setup (Toxic)Spikes, which, in the long run, do WAY more damage to grounded enemies. And UU seems to be lacking non-grounded enemies.
