If teachers can tell you stuff that is also in a revision book, I'm sure we can manage with Smogon and Serebii being there.

I feel the use of .::. is overrated' date=' but nice name change.

It's not spam because Felix needs to know so he can update the first page.

EDIT: @ Felix: Remember, this is not from Smogon. NO SMOGON INVOLVED.

Checks and counters are two different things. Checks are more used in a fast-paced metagame, while counters are used in ADV and whatnot.

A check to a Pokemon is something that can either revenge kill or switch in and attack, but also be crippled. A check to Salamence, for example, would be Weavile. It can switch in after something is dead and threaten a KO with Ice Shard. Another check to Salamence would be a ScarfMie with some DEF EVs. It'd be able to survive an Earthquake, be left with little HP, and can subsequently KO with Ice Beam.

A counter is a completley different thing. (Assuming Lucario was without Ice Punch.) A counter is something that can switch in to a Pokemon, take relatively no damage, and proceed to KO or threaten the Pokemon. Gliscor is a counter to Lucario. Close Combat, ESpeed nor Crunch will do enough damage to 2HKO at +0 or +2. Gliscor is also faster, and can KO Lucario with Earthquake or scare it away.

I think I got the gist of it. Also, checks can check more than one Pokemon. ScarfMie can check Salamence, Dragonite and (before it was Uber) Garchomp. Counters can only check ONE Pokemon well. Also, you need more than 1 check to a really overused Pokemon like Salamence and Scizor.

I'm impressed.

Depends on what you want it for.

This.

Cresselia can wall better on both sides, but Latias has access to better attacking moves, better SpA, Recover and a better typing.

In the end, however, if you are going for a flat-out wall, Cress is your choice.

Neither of them appeal to me now' date=' once I took a further look at their movesets. I want something with good base def and OK base sp.D that can learn calm mind and has decent sp.A

But, but what?

Latias has a superb moveset, and Cresselia has decent support options with Ice Beam.

With 6 Calm Minds Cress will sweep teams that don't have a Blissey in them relatively easily.

Even a +6 Ice Beam/Psychic won't OHKO things. Cress isn't a sweeper.

But moonlights PP is 5 :(

8 after PP max.
